I am Momen Al Madhoun, 35 years old, a graphic design from gaza, my wife Nour Al Madhoun 30 years old, a computer engineer, We are two self-made people united by a love of work, ambition, and self-development. We used to work remotely in programming and design. We had a cozy home that we built hand by hand, stone by stone.

Ezzdeen my big son was 7 when the war started now he is 8 years old and suffering from huge weight loss because he is very picky in his food, we try to buy him the food he accept but it is hard in our situations, Ameer my little son was 5 and now he is 6, he supposed to be at his first year at school now but what he forced to live is very diffirent!

Today after a whole year of displacement and the harsh suffering we are still living in this genocide in Gaza.

After our many attempts to survive, we actually survived, but it was only the survival of the body, the soul and the psychological health for me, my husband and my two children did not survive! Even the body survived apparently, but it is very weak due to the famine and the suffering in obtaining food and drink.

As the conflict escalates, our access to food, clean water, and basic necessities has dwindled. Everyday here is like a battle, not just with death surrounding us everywhere, but against huner and despair.

Today, after more than a year of living under the genocide, losing everything in our lives. More than a year of patience on famine and suffering and trying to overcome difficulties to survive, A whole year full of WHERE DO WE GO? what is our fault? what is our kids fault?

We are exhausted and need your help, I came to you today after all this patience with a heavy heart, asking for help! My family needs your help to survive

The Lord knows our sorrows, I think that some doubts arise because of such tragedies, which is also normal, perhaps He sees that it is hard for us and we still believe in Him, giving Him our sorrows.

God's ways are mysterious.

Maybe that is why they are sent to us, so that through sorrows a person can save his soul, being in deep loneliness and suffering, begin to communicate with God, because if everyone left a person in a difficult moment, then God will never leave a person.

God separates us from people (even with whom we communicated occasionally) not at all in order to disappear and torment us with endless loneliness, but because the Lord knows that these people will not be needed by man in the future.

Not everyone we meet on our way will go with us to the end.

In solitude we talk to God, not because it is God-forsakenness (since this is another topic), but because God separated us from everyone so that we could talk to Him, open our souls to Him, give up our sorrows so that He could heal us.

I know that many people say: "Why pray to God if He already knows everything?"

Because prayer is the only source of communication with God. He hears and sees everything, but He wants us to talk to Him too.

"Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.", Jer 23:24

One person told me: "If you think that the Lord does not hear you and has abandoned you, then think about it - maybe it was you who abandoned Him?" This man was truly right.

Can abandonment by God or sorrows sent by God be considered blackmail. This is completely untrue! If you follow this false logic: "If You don't give me what I want, then I won't pray to You and go to Church." Here it is implied that a person is trying to "beg" God for his desires through blackmail. Blackmail is crude and cannot be used in any way even in the sorrow that the Lord has temporarily given us. Because He does not blackmail us, but tests us, He gave us freedom of choice, we can close our hearts, or we can pray to the Lord to help us.

That's why prayer is the only way to talk to the Lord God.

"And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me." Psalms, 49:15.

If you can't come to church on some day, then pray at least a short prayer, but the most important thing is that it is from your heart, the prayer does not necessarily have to be verbose, it must be sincere.

For prayer is known by the power of faith, and not by verbosity.

Trusting God is often questionable and sometimes impossible, especially in difficult times for a person.

But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
