Dear Grandpa,

I’m sorry I didn’t get to see you for two years before you passed. I’m sorry I didn’t make an effort and try to make our family a bit closer. I’m sorry this all happened so suddenly and doctors didn’t have an explanation. I blame myself for not even be able to gather the short memories we shared together or the last character of your name. I only remember you always made jokes to shine light at every situation, and you did so much even though you walked with a cane since I was born.  I hope you had no regrets when you passed, I hope you lived life to the fullest. I’m sorry you didn’t get to spend more time here in New York, or get to spend your last moments with more of your closed ones.

Rest in peace grandpa. I wish I had the chance to say Ye Ye again.

This is the first time I had to deal with a loss and I was so numb to it for a few days but now it’s really hitting me.
