The God Dream
Once there was a little girl with a dream
She wanted success. She wanted the world.
This dream was all-encompassing and huge
It was multifaceted and complex
It was a process that would last years
Little did she know that what she thought was her dream was just the beginning of God's dream for her.
How does she know?
She had “the dream”:
Good college career, pro soccer contract, college graduate, grad student, fulfilling coaching jobs, loving friends and family
She had all of that and still thought… “this can't be it”
She was conflicted. She thought “It's not supposed to feel like this”
She prayed “God, into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.”
She prayed so long for provision without deliverance.
She focused so much on planning her course that she neglected to lean on God to order her steps.
Now she's left with an overwhelming maze. All roads lead to success and but only one leads to purpose.
For the first time in her life, she was in the dark unsure of where to go.
Then she was reminded… Jesus is our ever present help in times of trial.
“He is the light of the world, whoever follows Him will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
“The light of life” … now that's the dream
She was familiar with darkness and she refused to willingly walk through that again.
So her mind was made up.
She would walk through the unfamiliar route because while she knew that it would definitely be unpredictable and terrifying, it would always be lit up.
That confident little girl who wanted success and the world is now a strong young woman who just wants Jesus.
She had the small dream, now she wants the big dream. The God dream.
