Sunset in the Night
I know you’re here with me right now and I can’t count the times I’ve thought of saying what’s on my mind. But I don’t know how many sunsets I’ve got left before you’re gone and I’ve missed my chance to give you my heart I can hug, laugh, and stay with someone without thinking of you but when I sip that beer and look at the sky I can picture you in that white shirt you wore when we first met and just your sight took my heart without warning I love how we lock eyes and laugh in the night and how your smile never fails to blow me away. Your hair in the wind has brought me to my knees and I can’t find anything better than you even in my wildest dreams When I get lost in your eyes I pray that you let me stay there longer That we can lose all track of time and stay here in this moment forever I know I’ve been sober but it feels like I’m hung over with the thought of you in my arms under the stars, looking up with the cool breeze on our skin and you look into my eyes, I’m left speechless We might be running out of moonlight and I still haven’t given you my heart But I’ll hope that the next sunset’s not the last. That I’ll be with you one more night, waiting, and wishing that you’ll give me your heart like how I gave you mine Yeah, I like the sound of that
