Shit that laura said on twitter from first to the last tweet
Where. I know this. Tepmple of 1000 doors overwelmed. One to many more. So this is more? A greater or additional amount or degree. Mehr. Isn’t united/editing some beast belly???? (idk) is tune ding some beast belly? Or a pocket trapped. Pocket trapped? If woman jumps up she falls back down… So if she were to stumble forward, would she fall back? 😾😺Round and round and round. a spinning top, a fearless wheel, a mulberry bush in bright swirls 🐒🐧. To go left one has to go right three times and again? To pull the correct book from the correct shelf, to open it in the correct place. And think of home. Home. HomeHomeHomeHome. Thousands doors! Yes. A woman once lived in desert. In her tower, she kept all the knowledge in the world?
“In her tower, she kept all the knowledge in the world.” There’s a story wherein Inanna steals the Mes (practices, beliefs, technologies, etc. that make up civilization) from Enki. I had a theory once that the gods imparted part of themselves onto the world to give mankind a fighting chance against Inanna should she break free. The library is Enki in a tangible form, in the same way that the sword is Hastur, and the necklace/locket is Ereshkigal.
My initial theory is that the library is imbued with Enki’s essence somehow. To add to that thought, I think it’s helping Laura because it recognizes her inquisitive nature, her desire for knowledge and certainty, and her willingness to see what she started through, kind of like Mjolnir and worthiness.
The tower can obviously be the library, but it can also refer to the university at large. “To pull the correct book from the correct shelf, to open it in the correct place” can be a time travel/timing hint. Is the library taking them back in time so they can find an alternate way to bind Inanna or find a Vordenberg heart?
Oh I love that you guys are discussing this!
So while I was watching Carmilla Season 3 (Episode 7) I saw what appeared to be cuneiform. It’s a type of writing invented by the Sumerians in ancient Mesopotamia. I know this because school. I knew one day all that useless information would come in handy. Anyway, being the curious person I am, I did some old school research and found something funny. As it turns out that script says “ BE NOR MAL”. Funny, right?
That’s an @niestein easter egg! Nice catch. ;)
Do the patches have something to do with the plot? Maybe, the Corvae symbol?
This old Handbook forgotten in the middle of thousands of hungry and unreadable books, was finally found after a weird seismic action in the library. Apparently, belonged to a student named JP Armitage. Online PDF [x]

Carmilla Facts - Part 1 laura2theletter
Howdy hey fellow Creampuffs! Over the past few weeks I decided to take up a small side project for the web series Carmilla. After many hours, I’m happy to present you with this first phase. A complete list of canonical facts based upon the information found on Laura Hollis’s blog, laura2theletter.
This is an extremely long post, so I have put the actual facts below the cut. If any information is incorrect, please let me know. I would like this post to be as accurate and useful as possible.

Carmilla 2x30
I finally understood what I haven’t in a year and a half.
Carmilla is a fully cognizant person. She is not evil because her vampirism corrupts her soul. She has lived centuries, living with and loving monsters as family, doing unspeakable acts and being allowed decades to understand their purpose, learning how people are and knowing how they will be for the rest of their lives. She cares little for casual friends because she’s lost thousand and has grown numb to their influence. She clings desperately to her passing loves because they are the only ones who can give her a brief surge of emotion. Her low moments last decades, her high moments a lifetime.
She is not the way she is because she’s a vampire—a vampire in particular. Rather she is the way she is because she’s an immortal. Hers is the one of many tales of an immortal human.
With Danny’s slaying of Mattie, we see the essence of narrative conflict. Not good versus evil. We see three people doing what they feel as they have every right to do in their worldview. To Maddie, Danny is a short-lived but still very dangerous bug that dares to taunt, and fully deserving of death. To Danny, her life is of course highly significant to her, and she is completely justified in protecting herself even at the cost of taking a life. To Carmilla, the loyalty and love she has for Laura, how harming a hair on Danny’s head would be an unforgivable betrayal, means as much as a gust of wind to the person who murdered her sister of three centuries. There is no rooting; there is only pain.
Carmilla S2 Post Mortem:
These past four months have been a whirlwind of meetings, losing battles with Tweetdeck, digging through the dark, dank corners of the really creepy parts of Tumblr, and general observations of the little (big show) that could.
Carmilla’s sophomore season really allowed the inherent darkness of the story to shine through. We got to see the narrative venture into exploring things that aren’t always the easiest to digest. Second acts can make or break a story, but we refused to shy away from taking risks. After all, stories that play it safe aren’t nearly as rewarding as those who dare to try something a little bit different.
And, perhaps, we fell short in some ways. This season had some of the strongest episodes we’ve ever had go from page to screen, but also a handful of the weakest. We tried all sorts of new things and pushed the limits of the medium, and certainly did not make it easy on ourselves.
Some discussion under the cut to save your dash:

I hope the fandom gives this a read - it’s a great insight into our process as well as our takeaways. Reiterating Ellen, what I want to make sure you know is: we may not have engaged with everything, but we hear you. We appreciate and cherish involvement – more than you know. We’ve also learned through trial and error when there’s too much interaction and when we have to take a step back – as much as some want justifications, explanations, or promises. There’s so much value in viewers having their own singular take on a text, rather than us coming in to your space to talk headcanons or hint at interpretations. If it’s ambiguous, embrace it!
A lot more under the cut from my perspective. Now that I know how to do cuts…

How the Dean Destroyed Laura Hollis
I decided to take a look at how Dean!Perry manipulated things throughout the season, specifically Laura and Carmilla. My theory is the Dean not only wanted to university back but wanted to punish Carmilla and destroy Laura along the way.
First of all, I don’t think the Dean was responsible for the Hollstein breakup/drama. I think she definitely cranked it up to 11 in subtle ways, but they were plenty messed up on their own.
That being said, let’s take a look.
We start out with Dean!Perry committing the Voice of Silas murders. Because something needs to start the drama. Did she know Matska was coming and that she’d need to cast suspicion on her? Quite possibly. Mattie was following the Dean’s post-death orders afterall.
Dean!Perry goes on to explain how this is all their fault which leads to the first bit of Hollstein tension when Laura wants to stay and solve the murders, and Carmilla, who is just tired and wants to make out with her girlfriend, just absolutely cannot with Laura right now.
So Mattie shows up and does a great job of seeming suspicious af all on her own because, well, she’s a vampire and that’s kind of their thing. So it would be completely natural for innocent little Perry to suggest Carmilla should spy on her sister. Something Carmilla really doesn’t want to do, but will, for Laura. I mean, she once wore a ridiculous Christmas sweater for Laura, this is not even nearly as bad, right?
And of course Mattie being Mattie just drives the wedge between Laura and Carmilla a bit more. The Dean can’t have explicitly planned that, but, well, she knows Mattie and she knows Carmilla. Hey look, for once Carmilla isn’t storming out!
And once the angst is there between Carmilla and Laura, Perry just twists the knife a bit more.
Which leads to Carmilla doing what Carmilla does whenever she’s upset.
Dean!Perry’s next move is to keep the tension up and cast more suspicion on Mattie by summoning crows to attack her(Perry). Because of course Mattie must have done that to break up the protest, right?
And Laura buys it and does what Laura has been doing all season: asks Carmilla to champion her cause and betray her sister. Again. But Carmilla has finally had enough. She does her normal Carmilla response to problems, though understandably so. Yeah, Laura, this one is kind of on you.
Once Hollstein is in ruins and Laura is on a bad-decision-making spree, Dean!Perry is only too happy to help. She gets Laura the information she needs to take down Mattie and raise up Vordie. Why does she want Vordie in charge? My theory is because he’s so awful and incompetent that she’ll be welcomed back with open arms once he’s gone.
Which leads to Vordie being in charge and ruining and everything. And Carmilla responds the way Carmilla always responds. Carmilla out!
But silly Laura has to go and let the vampires come back in after the Dean has worked so hard to get them out of the picture. Because this isn’t just about the Dean taking back over, this is about her ruining Laura and punishing Carmilla, the ones who took her down. So Dean!Perry forces Mattie to show her true nature and throw everything into chaos.
And that’s basically the last straw for Laura for a bit. She’s just physically and emotionally exhausted. Ten points to Dean!Perry.
Around this time she also sets up Danny. She can’t know exactly how that’s going to end, but she definitely encourages Danny to throw her life on the line and take drastic measures against Mattie to protect Laura.
Then she murders the Summers and sets up Mattie to take the fall. GJ Dean!Perry. Ten points for Dean!Perry.
Which ends up with Danny killing Mattie (I suspect the Dean hoped this whole scenario would end up with Carmilla killing Danny, which would have been really hard for Laura to ever forgive) and Carmilla and Laura hitting the ultimate low in their relationship. Also, hey, no more vampires around to get in the way again.
And Dean!Perry can’t help but rub salt in Laura’s wounds a little. Why, no, Perry, we really have no idea at all why Carmilla would be heading for the anglerfish pit. Oh, the mystery!
Dean!Perry basically has everything where she wants it now, so she has no problem being a little more obvious and being mean to Carmilla. Which sends Carmilla into a trap. Not sure if the Dean could have planned that part. I think she was just being a jerk for funsies.
And Danny finally does get herself killed. Which the Dean was trying to achieve, though maybe not the way it turned out.
And that is just it for Laura. She’s done.
And she’s perfectly vulnerable for the Dean’s last trick. The Dean gets Laura to kill her(The Dean’s) only remaining rival, clearing the field and wounding Laura’s soul deeply by making her betray her convictions. It’s interesting because she uses Laura and Carmilla’s love, the very thing that brought her down, but she still doesn’t quite understand it.
Laura goes catatonic. Ten more points for Dean!Perry.
But the Dean still doesn’t quite understand what Laura and Carmilla have. And she doesn’t understand her own daughter’s capacity to love.
Because Carmilla’s just a monster, right? Stone cannot love flesh, and all. Yeah, might wanna rethink that one a bit, Perrs.
And maybe that will just be her undoing.
On the other hand, she’s got Vamp!Danny now, so she’s got that going for her.
So I looked up in some Sumerian dictionaries what Perry was saying (don’t ask why I know how to look up Sumerian stuff, too much research) and apparently she said:
“Ma Usella Mituti Ikkalu Baltuti.”
which means:
“And Raise Up The Dead Here Consuming The Living.”
so that’s fun…
Lol Perry finally has her own Twitter
carmilla being in complete awe over laura saving her life
She doesn’t think she’ll do it. Look at her face. She’s listening to Vordenberg and she’s thinking he’s right. Laura won’t do it. She won’t kill anyone. She believes in good, in heroism. Laura’s not a killer. And Carmilla knows that, and she knows Laura, and she doesn’t believe she’ll do it. She thinks Laura will let her die, because how can Carmilla be worth more to Laura than…everything else? Than her morals, her worldview, her stories, everything Laura believes in as good and right? It’s all spelled out on her face, right here, that she thinks she’s going to die and this one last thing she sees will be Laura choosing the world over her.
And then Laura destroys the charter, kills Vordenberg, and saves Carmilla. And look at Carmilla’s face. She can’t believe it. Can’t believe Laura actually did it.
Can’t believe that in that moment, Laura chose Carmilla over the world.
If anyone’s wondering, the incantation the Dean used was “Me usella mituti Ikallu baltuti”. This is a direct or nearly direct quote from Ishtar herself in her descent myth, as she’s demanding the gates to open for her.
Bear in mind any translation of Sumerian is EXTREMELY rough, because Sumerian does not build meaning from its words the same way almost every other language does.
But in English, the incantation is, approximately:
“I (will) raise up the dead ones, to devour the living.”
And remember, we were told already (with a few distraction explanations) that vampires are created when "some stranger power, by the force of its unfathomable will, speaks forbidden words to drag the dead from hell.”
Sorry, Antigone zombie theorists. Danny’s a vampire now.
k but did danny kill kirsch or are they turning him too this is important information
in some vampire lore, if a vampire drinks enough of your blood (enough to make the human pass out) the vampire essentially becomes the humans master. If they use that, it could be a good tool to have a “friend” hidden in their midst
