Hey Young World! It was not too many summers ago that I stumbled into San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, then just a naive youngster who heard about a free BBQ by some crew who call themselves dirtybird. There, underneath the sun, 5 soon-to-be homies would sweep me of my feet with their explorations of funk, house, ghetto, hyphy, and hip-hop.
Those (now mythical) BBQs truly inspired me to pursue house music (or whatever it is I do) in my own way. Now, a few summers later, the ethos of that small BBQ in the park is being spread all over the world, not the least to mention at Sankeys Ibiza where dirtybird has its prestigious summer residency. With that, I am honored to be playing alongside Galen, Eats Everything, and Claude Vonstroke on America's Independence Day July 4th!
For this mix I thought it would be fun to play with the idea of bridging Balearic themes with Booty, there are some older jams you may or may not be familiar with and some newer tracks from friends that you are really going to dig. In the tradition of dirtybird it's meant to be fun!
