We totally missed out on Nick Monaco’s last album Half Naked in 2016, but we’re not going to make the same mistake again when he releases his next album Heroin Disco this fall on Unisex Records. The artist, based right here in San Francisco, is known for his jazzy funk and chill disco jams. New song River is pure euphoria, a mirage-like shimmer of surreal seduction melting and melding into us with its sultry horns, a humid groove, and its hallucinogenic vocals. River is like Ben Khan refracted through a Caribou prism then drenched in waves of bleary heat. It hangs in the air, sticky and viscous like passion gone feral. Watch the music video for River below.
