i wish i could tell bugs i love them and have them understand. i wish i could gush how cute and lovely they are upon noticing them without the littl things freezing in terror at my lumbering presence. i get so excited when i see one crawling along, but from its perspective, a distant and massive part of the landscape just started moving and making sounds and then i don't get to watch it crawling along anymore. i wish i could tell bugs i love them. i wish they knew

call me crazy but i kind of love yellowjackets. they're bold, they're flashy, they keep to themselves but will gladly throw down if needed. the way their yellow hind legs dangle beneath them as they fly reminds me of ribbons hung from the pylons of an attack helicopter. they're some of the most gorgeous predators imo

Florida wood roach aka palmetto bug (Eurycotis floridana). it was running around my dad's shed where he makes calcium powder, hence the white dust.
