I haven’t posted much lately, so here’s a little life update.
On April 17, I underwent major spine surgery. Since this was the same area I previously had operated on years ago, surgeons had to go in from both the front and back to repair and stabilize everything. Recovery has been slow, painful, frustrating, exhausting, and honestly humbling at times, but thankfully I’m moving in the right direction little by little.
Right now I still can’t bend, lift, twist, or drive, so life has slowed down a lot while I heal. That’s made me even more thankful for the people around me. My wife has been carrying so much of the load while also taking care of me through recovery. My family has been helping with Quinn and keeping things moving when I physically can’t. And my daughter has honestly become one of my biggest motivations to heal and get back to myself.
I’m incredibly grateful for all the prayers, messages, check-ins, and support people have shown our family over the past month. It’s meant more than I can really explain.
Still healing. Still moving forward.
