Summary: Murphy is troubled by the situation in the country, in the world, in himself. He tries with all his might to protect the remaining people, to give them not just hope for a peaceful life, but to provide everything, right down to food. There is a monster far more terrifying than Murphy, but are they both so terrible?

thinking about season five again...im so so so upset that they fumbled the idea of talkers soooo hard <////3 it's such an interesting concept!! here are your friends and family and strangers and loved ones who are just like you sort of but something terrible happened to them. something terrible happened to them and they are stuck in a strange state of not being dead and not being alive, and if they want to keep up that status they have to do and eat terrible things, lest something else terrible happens to them, turning them into a danger to you. it's sooo interesting and would be so cool if they had tried to explore this any other way but they just haddd to try to liken it to racism.

Another remake of my edit. This time, I want to add the title "Daddy and Father."

My thoughts:

For me, "Daddy" and "Father" are completely different people. It is very rare for parents to be able to combine both sides in themselves.

Murphy is Daddy. The one who spoils, supports, and gets everything the child wants. It's about emotionality. About bright and even suffocating love. About clashes and misunderstandings, but also happiness and support.

The Man – a father, – on the other hand, is not about understanding how to be a parent. It's about how life gives you trials and watches to see how you get through them. He went through some of the most difficult periods in a person's life alongside Lucy, and he did so with great fortitude. Perhaps the word "mentor" would be appropriate for him, because The Man is generally alienated from the world and feelings, but that is precisely what makes him a "father figure." Coldness, calculation, and quiet help from the outside. Interestingly, he did not lie to Lucy about the Zone.

I would very much like to see Murphy and The Man trying to deal with Lucy, being two sides of the same coin.

But they were not given a chance.
