Iβm sleep deprived and am minutes away from falling asleep, so maybe Iβll regret this later or maybe the plans will fall through or idk but before I succumb, I just wanted to announce that for a while I was working on #lumaxmasterlists wherein I will be compiling all lumax fics by year and alphabetizing them, ofc providing a brief summary and links to each fic. As of now Iβm up to year 2019 and working through the rest will be a lot of time and work because shit! did lumax become super popular during/after s4. Seriously the difference if amount of fics per year and letter is staggering. But anyways, I know people have asked for this in the past and I hope Iβll be able to complete the project and that youβll find the format favorable and simple enough to navigate. I feel like thereβs more to say but Iβm tired so night night πππ΄
There is a world out there, in the wide multiverse, where at the end of season 2, Max and Lucas still have their dance, but instead of the kiss, they share a hug.
In that world, when we meet them again in season 3, they act exactly like they do in the show, but are not dating. Other characters remark that they act like a couple, that their frequent fights feel exactly like break-ups, but still, both insist that they are just friends. Of course, we know and they know that they like each other, but Max is not ready to commit, and Lucas doesn't want to push her.
In that world, comes season 4, either they have dated and broken up, or they still have never dated, but still act like they're broken up. For real this time. Like in the show.
Then happens what happens except this time, when Max asks Lucas out on that movie date, more than a reconciliation, it is also a long awaited confession. More than an offer to rebuild their friendship, it's also an offer to build a their romance.
Which would mean they only really, officially get together in season 5.
I always hc Lucas and Max as having a bunch of kids for some reason. Lucas's salary as a lawyer and Max's skateboard/skateboard accessory design business pay for all of it, but their house is just constant chaos (in a happy way) because their kids take after both of them. I also hc them living out in California, 30 minutes from the beach, so Max can teach them all to surf.
Hereβs all the lumax fics iβve read and loved, most are 50k-100k+ words and canon compliant/post-canon/pre-epilogue, this list will probably be updated as I read more. A lot of these authors have written more lumax stories that I didnβt list so I highly recommend going to their profiles for more.

Written through the POV of Lucas and Max every chapter, the journey of both returning to normalcy will be the main focus.
