Paint in water.
The Rainbow Tree, Eucalyptus deglupta, gets it's name from the brilliant colors on display, a result of exfoliation, exposing its bark and slowly aging and changing it's color. Â Sadly, though this dazzling tree does not produce that healing unmistakable fragrance that we get from other Eucalyptus trees. Kuriositas has more on the Rainbow Eucalyptus.

Yes it's Earth Day but why is this crab talking to you about tampons?
Respect the earth
None of that âsave the earthâ tomorrow please. The earth does not need our saving, it will be great without us. We need to save ourselves.Â
Doesn't get any truer than this.
How To Make It An Earth Day Your Kids Will Never Forget
HOW TO MAKE IT AN EARTH DAY YOUR KIDS WILL NEVER FORGET
Time to make Earth Day the NEW Mother's Day, and give Mother Earth the respect she deserves! We've created an Earth Day Itinerary jam packed with fun and unique activities designed to advance your family's awareness of the perilous state of our planet and how easy and fun it is to be part of the solution.
YOUR EARTH DAY ITINERARY
1. A BREAKFAST THAT IS BODY FRIENDLY AND EARTH FRIENDLY
Begin the day with a healthy breakfast thatâs not only BODY FRIENDLY but EARTH FRIENDLY. Take a bag of oranges and have the kids squeeze them into fresh orange juice. Eat and cook with organic foods, and if possible with foods grown locally.
Try no frozen veggies, no packaged meals, no processed meats....make it all natural, and not only will your body be satisfied, but youâll see very little empty cartons, plastic bags, or containers to throw away...a healthy breakfast with a low carbon footprint!
But if not, you can still make it BODY FRIENDLY, EARTH FRIENDLY by reading the labels of what you do have in your pantry and your refrigerator, talk to your kids about sugar, fat, and salt content, and even if you don't have the healthiest choices in your kitchen, that's ok, turn it into a positive and talk about how you'll make sure to burn off any extra calories to keep your bodies healthy and strong, and always watch your portions!
"Connect the dots... Calcium wil help you have strong bones so you can run and play."
2. TAKE THE FAMILY TO YOUR LOCAL FARMER'S MARKET (walk or bike if possible)
It's never too early to teach kids the value of locally grown foods, how they taste better, help the economy, and help the planet. A farmer's market is a great opportunity to go out and buy your ingredients for the rest of the day and perhaps for the school week. Pick up some snacks for a picnic at the park and later for a nice dinner at home. Buy fresh produce, make salads with freshly picked tender greens, yummy egg sandwiches, pitta breads, replace french fries and chips with strawberries and bananas, replace soda with fresh juice and water.
HELPFUL LINK: How Does Eating Locally Grown Food Help the Environment?
Remember the idea is to consume products that have the least impact on the environment. Pesticides, herbicdes, the burning of fossil fuels, the use of plastics, all can have tremendous consequences to the health of the planet.
"Local food is often safer too"
3. VOLUNTEER AT A BEACH CLEAN UP
See firsthand the damage done to our coastlines by the unnecessary conveniences many of us could easily live without, such as plastic bottles, plastic bags, and other waste products...wipe out the mentality of âout of sight, out of mindâ.

4. MOVE!
Perhaps the easiest thing on our list is to simply move. Our bodies crave to be active, our brains yearn for the oxygen and the stimulation. Even if it's a simple leisurely stroll around the neighborhood, do it together with your family, and yes, talk about the weather! Appreciate nature and go on a hike, throw the frisbee at your local park
5. PLANT A TREE
This activity requires some planning and can easily take most of the day but planting trees is really special. You and your kids are putting down roots, reducing their carbon footprint, creating homes for wildlife, and contributing to the future of the planet!

6. SPRING CLEAN UP
Purge your home and garage of oils, paints, dangerous chemicals and dispose of them properly. Declutter your living spaces, fill bags of unwanted clothing items and donate them to charity or your local Goodwill.

7. WRITE A POEM, A SONG, OR PAINT A PICTURE DEDICATED TO EARTH DAY
Kids love to draw, paint, and sing. Why not do it in commemoration of Earth Day?

8. MOVIE NIGHT! - FROZEN PLANET
Dim the lights, wind down after a fun-filled day, relax, it's family time. On Earth Day, April 22nd, Discover Channel is showing it's incredible new series called Frozen Planet. Perfect for appreciating the beauty and wonder of all living things. We could very well be on the verge of destroying this and making it disappear. Our actions today can help save that awe and wonder for future generations.

It doesn't have to end on Earth Day, keep it going, maybe start a meatless Monday. Â The possibilities are endless.
Inspire your family to make a difference! It's starts with you!
