The shooting occurred Sunday afternoon outside a Walmart in Senatobia, according to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

literally yesterday. all because someone called the police about DIAPERS being shoplifted.

Black children deserve to live and be safe around ALL people, around the world but something so simple is routinely denied to us on the daily by people more concerned with making sure their group doesn’t become the next underclass in which the entire modern world operates on its dehumanization.

meanwhile, LAPD shot and killed a Black woman’s dog after being called by her neighbor for being “too loud” during the Knick’s game, one of the biggest basketball event in years.

i seen more comments by nonblack ppl showing sympathy for the dog than the Black woman in the video literally hugging her beloved pet’s dead body in tears while a mob of LAPD officers stand around and watch her dispassionately.

A new site, FuckLAPD.com, is using public records and facial recognition technology to allow anyone to identify police officers in Los Angeles they have a picture of. The tool, made by artist Kyle McDonald, is designed to help people identify cops who may otherwise try to conceal their identity, such as covering their badge or serial number. “We deserve to know who is shooting us in the face even when they have their badge covered up,” McDonald told me when I asked if the site was made in response to police violence during the LA protests against ICE that started earlier this month. “fucklapd.com is a response to the violence of the LAPD during the recent protests against the horrific ICE raids. And more broadly—the failure of the LAPD to accomplish anything useful with over $2B in funding each year.”

The Rookie gets LAPD funding. Btw. That is why so many people are upset. Because the LAPD is awful and as a company based in LA, Dropout knows that. Especially when a cast member was arrested for protesting by the LAPD a couple years back.

There is nuance to be had, and I personally haven’t seen The Rookie and can’t speak to how they portray cops, but they get LAPD funding and I think that is very important to this whole deal.

Saying such individuals posed a threat to the safety and security of all city residents, the Los Angeles Police Department announced Thursday that it had arrested everyone who lost their home in the ongoing wildfires. “In the interest of maintaining public order, I have instructed my officers to round up any suspicious person whose domicile was recently destroyed in the fires,” said LAPD police chief Jim McDonnell, stressing that his units had already detained “thousands of such indigent characters” in neighborhoods ravaged by the Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst wildfires. “Just because your dwelling has been reduced to smoldering ash does not give you the excuse to make other residents feel unsafe by begging for water or clothing.  Full Story
