the adults in the jedi order failed anakin and, likely, other children in their care

because it was a cold, strict, repressive environment, which said: 'don't grieve, don't be angry, because those are Bad Emotions' - and I am paraphrasing Yoda's statements from TPM and ROTS here, the Master of the Jedi Order. if he does not embody and know the true PT jedi order principles, than who would? fluffy jedi fanon is an unreliable source. the movies establish the core jedi philosophy, including its stagnancy and discompassion. don't worry about your still enslaved mother, forget her. don't care about your captured friends, let them suffer, the mission is more important.

that is not a healthy environment for any child, let alone a traumatised child.

the jedi order was given a test with anakin skywalker, and it fucking failed it. that's part of the tragedy - ignoring or dismissing it or pinning the blame on anakin as an ontologically evil child, completely contrary to the actual movies, is lazy, boring, and reveals a shocking lack of compassion for children, just like the jedi :)
