Honestly I’m not quite sure why I grabbed onto him so hard. But he’s like a perfect mix of a lot of things I like: birds, Chinese history, elegant villainy, Gary Oldman’s voice.
He’s absolutely despicable but he’s got some interesting threads of complexity I like digging into.
Apologies if this is a silly question, but what do you mean by art doll specifically? Like your paper shen one on kofi?
So artdoll is a general term for posable sculpture, at least that’s what I understand.
The paper puppets are probably stretching it but I generally use it for anything that isn’t easily covered by plushie or sculpture.

I like the idea of him being dressed entirely in white, since it’s associated with death/mourning in Chinese culture, and his whole thing rn is being “back from the dead”. I like the idea of him looking halfway between a ghost and a Beijing opera performer. His dramatic ass would 🙄🙄🙄🙄
This also helps distinguish him from his lackeys who are dressed in more traditional battle attire.

HIIIII long time no see,
I finally graduated from art school!! Which means I never have to write an essay or schedule a class again yay! This also means I have all the time in the world to COOK. I got a part time job a couple blocks from my house so I don’t loose my mind from boredom and I got enough cash that I don’t have to stress out immediately. I’m gonna be spending the summer working on my original projects and my portfolio.
I’m working on my kfp fan comic again!!! And I’m using it like a regular portfolio project. This means actually concept art, starting with good renders of my ocs (plus Shen, Po and Tigress probably)

Fun thing that happened to me:
I was having a portfolio review with a very serious professional realistic concept art guy and he asked if he could write something down in my sketchbook. Well he kinda flipped to a random page, made me pause on the drawings of Emile in his big sweater and he TOOK A PICTURE OF THE PAGE.
He said something like “this is how I want people to be using their sketchbooks”
