LET YOUR ART BE UGLY!!! LET YOUR WRITING BE BAD!!! DANCE OFFBEAT!!! SING OFF KEY!!! LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO LET YOUR FEAR OF NOT BEING GOOD ENOUGH PREVENT YOU FROM LEARNING AND ENJOYING NEW THINGS!!!
who is she
I wasn’t asked to a single dance in high school and didn’t have a serious romantic relationship until I was 22. And like, yeah that shit hurt when I was younger. I had a lot of fears that I was unlovable and that I didn’t deserve to be happy. And every time I would try to talk to anyone about it, the conversation became, “you’ll find someone”, when it should have been, “you don’t need a relationship or a date, you’re lovable & complete & beautiful on your own”.
So yeah, please normalize young people not dating, and please stop shaming them for it. There’s more to life than romance, despite what the media wants us to think.
THIS
Some of y'all need to read this shit and understand it fully
writing conclusions in papers is like the stupidest thing ever though like what’s the point of dedicating an entire paragraph to “so yeah i know you just read my paper but this is a summarization of what you read in case you need to be reminded about what you just read” like why can’t the paper just end
I keep seeing this post and similar ones, and if y'all’s teachers and professors have left you with the idea that a conclusion is a summary, they have failed you in a big way.
Your conclusion is your “so what’s the fucking point” section. You’ve given you’re reader a lot of info and now they need to know why they care. Depending on the type of paper you should be giving a plan of action, explaining how this knowledge changes our understanding of the topic, link your paper to other disciplines, suggest further areas of study, etc.
One of the best pieces of writing advice I’ve ever received is that if you can’t envision yourself dropping the mic and strutting off stage at the end of your conclusion then it’s probably not strong enough.
“So whats the fucking point” is more helpful than all 6 years I’ve probably been writing papers
The mic drop thing has never failed. Never had less than 90% on it
Movana Chen - Knitted Paper Artist
Movana Chen (陳麗雲) is a Hong Kong–based female artist and curator who has been weaving people’s stories — literally — for more than a decade. In her ongoing project, Travelling into Your Bookshelf, she makes art works from books that she collects as gifts from people she meets on her travels around the world. After reading the books — at least those that are in languages she understands — she shreds them and then glues the thin shredded pieces together to make stronger material that she knits into pieces that can be either worn or displayed. The results that emerge from this unique creative process are delicately striking and intriguing. Her wearable pieces — she calls them ‘body containers’ — are cylinders of neatly knitted paper that cover the entire body and head, with a tube that extends from the top of the head and hangs like an elephant’s trunk over the body. The idea, she explains, is to reflect how people are constantly hoovering up and absorbing ideas and inspiration from the outside world. By weaving their chosen books together, she creates a form of communication — ‘like a hidden code’ — between all the people who contribute to her work.

your creations inspire and bring joy, even if for now it is just to yourself, so please try your best to never stop creating, and to not be discouraged
