legendarymasterthief:
So, heâd finally noticed, huh? Cathâs eyes immediately darted to the side, avoiding Phantomâs gaze. She half-turned, now apparently finding immense interest in a stone on the ground, shoving it back and forth with her feet.
âNo idea what youâre talking about.â Her claim sounded anything but convincing, yet Cath didnât really care either way. The fact that she hadnât simply vanished yet should tell him all he needed to know. âLook,â she added after a sigh. âIf you really donât like it, I wonât give you a card again. Itâs fine.â
âYou know well what Iâm talking about.â And he leaves it at that. This kind of conversation had played over one too many times now and it always met the same end. The smallest ray of hope, a measly light that he wanted to believe in, was quickly extinguished in mere seconds. Well, itâs no use. His shoulders, they had risen subconsciously from interest, now weigh down with exhaustion; Phantom letting out a sigh of his own.
âItâs not that I donât like it, but if youâre going to just mess around, then Iâd rather not have a card.âÂ
