space fireworks?
Ah, not really. I have decided to spend my homeworld’s New Year celebrations with someone very dear to me. We only recently managed to contact each other again after such a long time. I am very happy, without doubt! But... not so much, about the fireworks and the general loudness of people outside.
I’m glad I chose to stay inside, with all the fireworks bein’ set off’n’ all...
"Jupiter, What's the current situation?" (--Lunar)
Jupiter Bomber was reading his Mechanic Manual book when Lunar chimed in, Jupiter looks up from his book and puts it down, “Ah, Lunar Bomber. Everyone has calmed down for the most part, perhaps a bit still shaken from… Before.”
Jupiter rubs his neck before letting out a sigh, “Regardless, situation normal. My apologies if I sound a bit… Tired, I’ve been reading up on these mechanic manuals.”
“I see. I’ve yet to check on everyone else, but I’m glad they’ startin’ to feel better. I apologize for bein’ gone so long and all. Not easy to find a new engine to replace ours...”
Lunar crossed his arms, letting out a quiet sigh. He wanted to be there for his crew, but he couldn’t be everywhere at the same time, unfortunately. Though, he trusted Jupiter to look after everyone while he was gone.
“Don’t overwork ya’ self though, okay? I know there’s not much ya can do around while the ship is stalled and I’m glad ya’ willin’ to learn new things, but I don’t want ya’ to be workin’ so hard you drop, either.”
“It’s uh, been a while, hasn’t it? Wonder how the crew s’been holdin’ up...”
Jove rubbed her arms for a few seconds before she reached up and grabbed onto Lunar's hand. She gently tugs on it a few times to try and catch his attention, possibly worried that the recent situations that happened might've hit Lunar pretty hard.
Lost into thoughts, Lunar hadn’t noticed the arrival of Jove until she had grabbed onto his hand. The events of the previous week still hung heavily over his head and occupied a great part of his mind. Despite not feeling as terrible as when he had first came back to the ship, guilt and regret were at least two things that remained, even if it had all been out of his control.
‘‘H-huh? Oh, it’s only ya… Is somethin’ up, Jove?’‘
gasmaskduo
Jove nodded and showed a happy expression as Lunar picked her up, holding her against him. Jove then leaned forward, giving Lunar a little nuzzle on the check. She then straightened herself back, and pointed at Lunar with that worried expression again.
Jove then looked down while in Lunar’s arms, realizing what she wanted to say might not be possible with gesturing. She didn’t want to ride Lunar around just so she can get something to write on either, she thought that would waste his time. Jove closed her eye for a moment before she decided to try something… Facing Lunar, she tried to make letters with her hands. Slowly so Lunar can see them clearly. She tried to form out a small word with her hands, D-A-D. After making the 2nd D, she then hugged onto Lunar while in his arms.
‘‘D...A...D? O-oh!!!’‘
Lunar had been taken by surprise, not expecting Jove to refer to him as ‘Dad’ right this moment. Despite the element of surprise, it still made Lunar very happy, and somewhat honored to have another member of the crew refer to him as such. Gosh, at this rate, the moon bomber was going to adopt them all, wasn’t he? He hugged her more tightly, not too much, as to not hurt her either.
“You too?”
He chuckled, smiling softly. Not that he minded that at all. If Lunar being a fatherly figure made the others happy, he would gladly be the dad. Even if it was hard for him to understand Jove at times, he was going to try even harder in the future to read her, more than he already did, so that she may not feel bad about it.
“I’m glad...!”
{messaging-asteroid} "Uh, Lunar?" Asteroid walked closer, hiding their hands behind their back. "May I talk to you?"
‘‘Hm? Is somethin’ up, Asteroid?’’
Although Lunar was about to go look for a new engine for the ship, he could take a moment to speak with Asteroid. It was widely more important to take time and listen to his adopted child, the engine could wait a little bit.
lunar-bomber:
‘‘Asteroid… T-that’s…very nice of ya…’‘
The moon bomber took the gift in one hand, unwrapping it with the other. A beautiful scarf with a moon pattern. He wore the scarf proudly, smiling with his eyes. He was never going to take this off, that’s for sure.
‘‘Ya didn’t have to but… thank ya so much! I really appreciate it. This scarf…I…I love it!’‘
Lunar actually teared up a little, upon hearing the last sentence they spoke, as well. If he still wanted them? Of course he did! He loved them with every fiber of his being, regardless of what happened. He took a few steps forward, pulling Asteroid into a strong hug.
‘‘Hey… Nothing in the world could ever change this. As long as ya’ still want me to be ya’ dad… I will be! I’ll do my best to be there for ya’… whenever somethin’ happens. Ya’ mean so much to me… never forget that.’‘
Asteroid smiled internally when they saw that Lunar had enjoyed the scarf. The money they saved up for it and the trip they had to make to get it while Lunar was asleep had been really worth it. “I uh, made a new friend who is a tailor. He’s the one who made the scarf.”
And then they were pulled into a hug, which they quickly returned. The stuff Lunar said actually got them emotional. Sure, Bright Star did try to be nice and say stuff like that too, but it always felt like she was trying to make up for her drunk incidents. Lunar, however, said it from the bottom of his heart, or so they feel it was.
They didn’t wanted to tear up now, but it escaped from under their glasses a little. It was just too much joy now. “D… Dad..” Asteroid felt their voice shakey, they could barely think about what they’re saying. “I…. I love you. I hope you never regret adopting me.”
‘‘I don’t think I ever will regret it, my child.’‘
Hearing Asteroid call him ‘Dad’ brought a smile to his face. In his heart, they would always be his kid. No matter how many mistakes they made, it would never change that fact. Sure, he could be mad, but he would never disown them. Lunar made that promise to himself, silently. He was far from perfect himself, but he would try his hardest to be the best dad to Asteroid.
A gentle back rub, before he broke out of the hug, placing his two hands on Asteroid’s shoulders.
‘‘Whatever it is ya do... I will always believe ya can do it! I might not always be there, but no matter where I’ll be... I will still believe ya can achieve it.'’
''Comet? Where were ya all this time?'' (--Lunar)
“O-oh y’know… just… places s-sir.”
‘‘Places? Ya been gone for what seems like months! What kinda mission did ya go on for it to be so long?!’’
“I-it’s nothing important sir! And you probably just uh… thought it was months because… time doesn’t work in space and what-not. Though it is nice to see you again!”
‘‘Really? As much as I’m glad to see ya, I’d also love to hear what ya’ been up to all this time!’‘
Lunar approached Comet, putting a hand on top of her head.
‘‘We can discuss it over tea or coffee, if ya’d like! I have some free time right now.’‘

Jove rubbed her arms for a few seconds before she reached up and grabbed onto Lunar's hand. She gently tugs on it a few times to try and catch his attention, possibly worried that the recent situations that happened might've hit Lunar pretty hard.

‘‘H-huh? Oh, it’s only ya… Is somethin’ up, Jove?’‘
Jove was looking at Lunar with a worried expression, the hand she was grabbing with was gentle, as she points at Lunar with her free hand. Jove really wanted to try her best and lift Lunar’s mood, she just couldn’t find the right… Gestures to do. If only… She could speak… “…! ……!! …..”
As an attempt from her to try and lift Lunar’s spirits, she moved her pointing free hand to grasp onto Lunar’s hand with her other hand. She then started to hop in place.
‘‘Oh! Do ya want to show me somethin’?’‘
Was that what Jove tried to tell him? Lunar wasn’t too sure how to interpret her gesture, then again he’s always had hard time guessing. He let out a soft chuckle and patted her head gently.
‘‘No need to hop! Just show the way.’‘
Jove looked down towards the ground, a bit down that Lunar misunderstood her gestures again. She kinda got used to being misunderstood from time to time, thankfully Jove doesn’t get annoyed or sad when that does happen anymore. Just means she needs to try harder!
After being pat on the head, which Jove seemed to blush at bit from, Jove lets go of Lunar’s hand and shakes her head at Lunar. She runs to the front of Lunar and holds her arms up at Lunar, bouncing in place again.
What Jove had been trying to tell him all this time suddenly flashed in his head, and he mentally facepalmed. Of course! She wanted to be picked up or at least it seemed like that’s what she did want. Although Lunar didn’t know why, he would gladly oblige. Heck, he’d pick up anyone in the crew upon request, even Jupiter, if it could make them happy. Kneeling down, the moon bomber picked up Jove, holding her gently against him.
‘‘Is this what ya’ wanted?’’

“I’m okay, it’s just..” Sigh.
Asteroid didn’t knew why they got so nervous around Lunar. If it was any other Space Bomber, they would have said what they wanted and it would be all good. Inside, they kinda knew why. Because they wanted a dad, and now they got one, they’re terrified of messing up with Lunar like they did with Bright Star.
Taking a deep breath, they revealed their hands, holding a tiny box, decorated with yellow wrapped paper. Inside the box, a special gift they commissioned to a new friend they made in social media: a scarf with moon patterns.
“I bought this for you. Just… something nice, to make up for losing the engine.” Pause, they started to tremble a little. “A-And for.. Adopting me.. If you still want me.”

(@corrupted-bomb-code) Void feels like he seen this person before but doesn't really remember. He then said "Hello?"
“Uhh. Hello? I don’t think we’ve met before. Who are ya’ ?”
“I’m … uh… I’m Void Bomber. Do you have a name by chance that I can know?”
“Ya’ can refer to me as Lunar.”
Void, huh? It sounded awfully familiar. Then, Lunar remembered that a few days ago, someone had asked him if they knew any ‘Void’ bomber. It was a strange coincidence that he was to meet them so shortly after receiving that message.
“Do ya’ need somethin’ from me or...?”
Unsure what this bomber wanted with him, Lunar just somewhat stared at them, hoping that they’d provide some sort of answer after he had asked that question.

"Coffee or tea... Ya’ know? I’m not very picky on either of these. If I have to make an absolute pick, it would most likely be coffee, since it’s what we most often have back at the base. Ya’ can thank Asteroid for our near endless supplies of coffee on the ship, since they drink more coffee in one sittin’ than the rest of the crew! However, tea is also very good and I personally take flavors that help with relaxin’. As for my coffee, it’s usually black if it’s on to go or I take it with flavors and alcohol if I’m back home. As long as I have a warm drink to dip my moon cookies in, I’m all good!”
