after a successful lay-up, satoru begins to whistle, "ya' losin' it, suguru!"
suguru passes the ball to satoru passed the three-point line, rolling his eyes. "you're just lucky, satoru." he huffs out, smiling.
"good job, satoru!" shoko lazily calls, grinning at his boosted ego.

imagine aonung as a proud father
⡠MASTERLIST. NAVIGATION.
HEAR ME OUT: 29! metkayina oloeyktan! aonung! dad to twins!
âi have an announcement.â standing on a high platform, aonung raised his voice to capture the attention of the room.
two toddlers, each snuggled on aonung's respective arms, pinched the tattoos on their father's skin without caring about the swarm of people watching them from below.
âaonung, what is this about?â asked tsireya.
the look on her people's faces mirrored her puzzled oneâjaw agape and nose scrunched.
her brother only cast her a smug grin.
unease began to stirr tsireya's stomach. the siblings succeeded their parents' positions at an early age, but aonung didn't produce an heir until he was 28.
many were concerned about the future of the clan because aonung and his mate didn't bear the news of a child for 2 years. waiting and trying for two years was insufferable, especially to aonung. he fretted the people would question the capabilities and health of their oloeyktan and his mate. so when tsireya detected, there were two babies in the womb, aonung teared up there and then, before declaring a feast to celebrate. eywa had heard his prayers and blessed the pair with not one but two sons.
the dawn his sons entered the world, aonung also held a feast to commemorate his mate's difficult birth and the addition of two boys into the reef clan.
âas you all know, my children's brilliance surpasses their age.â
an exasperated sigh left tsireya's lips. she already knew where this was headed.
âthey never fail to make me proud,â he said, leaning down as one of the boys pawed at his neck. another tugged at his curls, chewing on his hair. âtoday, however, they hit a milestone.â
with much reluctance, aonung placed his children on the ground. once their chubby feet touched the floor, they wriggled out of aonung's protective grasp.
their mother watched from the sidelines.
it was one odd thing when aonung carried his sons up to the stand, however for his mate to be separated from him was totally bizarre. her idiot of a brother couldn't live without lingering around his mate. therefore, what in the great mother's name was happening?
âcome on, my little beasts. show them your waddle.â
âwhat are you doing, aonung?â she hissed as her nephews crawled dangerously near the edge. before their webbed arms could fall off, aonung scooped them up and brought them back to the centre.
âtrust me, reya.â was all he said.
aonung squatted down and kissed his sons.
âgo to your mother.â he spoke gently, encouraging them with a pat on their bums.
obeying his words, the boys started to claw on their father's knees. aonung's gaze twinkled with glee and anticipation. tsireya was about to tell him off again, before her nephews rendered her speechless when they managed to stand up on shaky legs.
with the aid of their father, they found some balance. aonung let them go as his mate clapped her hands and beckoned for the bundles of joy.
âmy sons have learned how to walk.â
yes, everyone saw. his sons wobbled towards their mother, one falling behind, but he never backed down. just like his father's stubborn spirit. once they reached their mother's embrace, a boom of cheers and laughter erupted through the evening.
âin honour of their achievement, i shall host a feast for all to enjoy and celebrate.â
tsireya's heart warmed up at the sight of aonung's genuine smile. she couldn't note the last time he smiled that way, unrestrained and brimming with joy.
fatherhood looked beautiful on him.

youâll never know how long iâve adored you
pairing: rotxo x gn! metkayina reader (oneshot)
he fell first, oblivious reader (stays that way), matchmaker (reader is still around rotxoâs age)
prompt: being the youngest child to ronal and tonowari had its perks. but it also meant you were overlooked sometimes because of your parentsâ responsibilities. you had a wildcard personality and an unwillingness to settle down, so your parents felt it was necessary to set up blind dates for you. luckily for you, one of them is perfect!
âno. absolutely not. i will not do it!â you said, rolling your eyes and stomping off to your sleeping mat in your family marui. your parents sent your older sister, who they knew you loved so much, to relay the news. âbut-â tsireya began. âi will not!â you shouted. so much for not shooting the messengerâŚ
your parents loved you so much, and everyone knew they would do anything to keep you happy. but they were busy, and they were getting older. they wanted someone trustworthy to take care of you for when they went on to rest with eywa. and since you refused to find anyone for yourself, they felt it was best to take matters into their own hands.
âwhere is sempu?â you asked your sister, knowing that your father was more malleable, and still saw you as his little âeveng. âhe is out on a hunt with aoâ. however, saânu is still around, working on healing pastes. you could talk to her if you wish?â tsireya shrugged, knowing that talking to their mother usually yielded no results. you knew this as well, but being the youngest had its perks. so you set off to make your mother change her mind.
âno, ma yawntutsyĂŹp. the plan is already in motion.â said your mother, standing to cup your face in her hands. you groaned, not wanting to hear anymore. âjust go on 3 of them, please? for your old saânu. only three.â she pleaded with you, putting on a sad, motherly face to gain more pity points. âwe will not be around foreverâŚâ she said, as her voice trailed off in a sing-songy way and continued back to her work. you knew that she wasnât one to change her opinion when it was set, but couldnât she see that it was a horrible one?
sadly, the more you thought about it, she was right. of course. they were getting older, and as much as you did not want to admit it, you were scared of that. it would be a good idea to have someone by your side so you wouldnât be alone when your parents or siblings werenât around. plus, your older siblings had mates as well, tsireya with the sully boy and aoânung with kyuna, who was one of your people. maybe it wouldnât be too bad to settle down.
so you went on the first date. of course it was horrible. the guy had horrible eating skills, interrupted you whenever you talked, and was not too easy on the eyes. every time he opened his mouth, you either kissed your teeth, coughed, cleared your throat, or anything you could think of to block out his annoying voice.
the second date was not as bad, however. it was with rotxo, one of aoânungâs friends. it turned out that his parents made him go on these types of dates too, so you had something to relate over and laugh about. he was also a very pretty guy, which you seemed to not have noticed until now. he was incredibly recipient of your feelings, and understood how frustrated you were.
âit is so weird to be on a date with you when we grew up together!â you remarked, as you looked out into the ocean. of course you never saw the boy romantically, much to his dismay. he had thought you were amazing since the day he met you. so, what he left out when saying his parents forced him to go, was that he skipped out on so many other dates to be on this one with you. he was hoping that this would change your perspective of him, and maybe see him as a worthy mate.
of course you were oblivious to this, only even giving the idea of him as your mate a cursory thought because you knew of him and his kindness. the more you pondered over this idea, you didnât think it would be so bad to be with him. after all, he was sweet to you, approved by your family, and could provide for you. but sadly, you still had one more date to go on and were not completely set on the idea of mating with roxto. you grew up with him, for eywaâs sake! it would just be a little weird for you, and he was your brotherâs best friend too.
âthanks for this, rotxo! you have nooo idea how much better this was compared to my first date!â you said, going in to hug him goodbye. âah yes, fâcourse.â he said, quietly, at almost a mumble. he wanted to stay in your embrace forever. why did you not see that he cared for you, and more importantly, why did you have to go on that other dateâŚ
he was never the jealous type, and he didnât want you to see him as such, so he let you go and walked away to go sit by the shore. he shouldâve just told you, he thought. maybe then you would be here with him instead.
that third date wore you out. the girl was so arrogant and you could tell she only went because you were the chiefâs child. all she did was talk about herself and her looks, and how âwonderful it would be to be mated with herâ. every time she would say something like that, you had to âclean your ears.â meaning you plugged them until you noticed her mouth no longer moving.
eventually she caught the hint and stomped away, feeling hurt and complaining. âoh wellâ, you thought. so you immediately dived in the ocean to take a swim. the cool sea breeze always calmed you down after tense moments. todayâs events had been tiring. one bad date after another, except for one. rotxo. he was kind to you and you knew him well. you made up your mind. you would mate with him. it was a win-win situation, after all. a win for you, and a win for your family. you just hoped and prayed to eywa that he didnât have his heart set on someone else.
as you swam around the island, you saw a small figure resting on the shore. so you swam up to them, and soon noticed that it was rotxo. just the guy you needed to see.ârotxo!!â you called out, hoping he could hear you and notice. he glanced up, waving and smiling in your direction. ârotxo, hey!â you said, coming out of the ocean and running a hand through your drenched hair.
âhi, (yn)!â he spoke calmly, patting the spot beside him for you to sit. you sat down with a âhmphâ and took his hands in yours, wanting to get the question over with and asked already. ârotxo, i had a really good time today. i kinda hated the other dates i went on, and that made me realize how amazing you are. even if itâs just out of convenience or for your parents, would you be my mate?â you asked, with your former light blue face turning a new hue of purple.
his eyes widened in shock, wondering if eywa had heard his prayers. âoh, yes! i would be happy to be mated with you, (yn). thank you, for even thinking about giving me a chance.â the boy gave you the biggest smile you had ever seen come from him, even showing his canines.
you wondered why he was so happy, but maybe that was a story for another time. for now, you two just spent the evening talking and enjoying each otherâs company. if this didnât win you child of the year, you werenât sure what would.

Aonung x Sully!reader
reader is an amazing weaver And itâs Aonungâs of age ceremony and he asks Y/N for help with his ceremonial clothing cause he waited too long to make it and they stay up all night together making itâŚ
~~~
It was late at night, you were drifting in and out of sleep in your separate marui because you finished your off age ceremony weeks ago, and you were finally getting used to being by yourself.
Obviously you missed you family, but itâs not like you wonât see them everyday. Loâak and Neteyam left months ago and that left you Kiri and Tuk.. well now just Kiri and Tuk.
Spending time in the Metkayina you got aquatinted to many of the people, a lot of them knowing you due to your amazing craftsmanship and skill in weaving.
Your mother calls it a gift from Eywa due to how diligent and fast you can get even the most difficult patterns down.
~~~
Being half way asleep you hear steps outside of your mauri. Ears perking up to the sound you grumble a bit.
Someone knocks on the outside whispering your name
âY/N..? Hey wake upâ
You groan recognizing the source of the voice.
âGo away Aonung, Iâm trying to sleep.â
The bot rolled his eyes and let out a huff.
âListen, I really need your help right now, so can you please get up?â
The genuine sound in his tone took you aback, maybe he really was in trouble and could use some help.
You raise up to see him standing in the middle of your Mauri, rubbing your eyes you yawn
âSo what do you need help with?â
He seemed to liven up a bit at your willingness to assist him.
âWell.. tomorrow is my coming of age ceremony and.. I waited to long to make my ceremonial clothing.â
You deadpanned turning to lay back down
âWait wait! Y/N I really need you to do this for me, it would be a dishonor to have not made them, I just need this one favor then Iâll leave you alone for like a week, promiseâ
You let out an exasperated grumble, but him not bothering you for that long sounded like heaven, plus you were lonely in your pod. Having company when you were already struggling to sleep doesnât sound too bad.
â..mm fineâ
He put on a pleased smile and set the materials next to you.
âWeâre going to make an armband, a necklace, and a loinclothâ he looked pleased with himself and the materials he gathered.
âAlright. Letâs get startedâ
You take the material
âIâll make the jewelry pieces, you work on the loincloth.â
He nodded in agreement
~~~
Itâs been hours. You both were dying of exhaustion. Weaving the materials was a lot more difficult in this state. Things that you could make easily in 30 minutes are now taking an hour do. Aonung wasnât much help either, he didnât really know what he was doing. You have had to stop and help him multiple times. Though you can be too hard on him, there is a lot that goes into these pieces, you were just upset he started so late.
âWhy did you not start until today? Why wait so long?â You brought it up and weâre met with his eyes, he looked embarrassed to admit the reason.
âI thought this would be the easy part, I needed to gather the materials which seemed harder, I thought I could finish in a day, but⌠as you can seeâ he smirked at you pointing out the situation you both were in.
You rolled your eyes, going back working on the pieces.
~~~
You were finally done. Your fingers stung and your head throbbed. Aonung finished an hour ago and passed out on the floor, he tried helping but he ended up not being able to make it, which left it up to you.
You looked down at him, seeing how peaceful he looked, and warm.
You were used to cuddling with Tuk when you slept, she used to get scared at night so sheâs always come to you for reassurance, and it became a habit of her to fall alseep in your arms.
The thought of being next to him made your heart race, but you quickly disregarded the thought,
How could you think of something like that. Especially with him. He was rude, cocky, mean, well you did like his smile, and his hair was nice, his body was very tonedâŚ.
You sighed knowing that it was your tired drunken state making you think like this. You lay down closing your eye drifting away.
~~~~
30 minutes after you feel asleep, it wasnât a good sleep though. You felt restless and anxious, something wasnât right, you missed having your family around you, having someone close. Suddenly you feel something or rather someone against your backside and swing their arm around you.
In your state of tiredness you couldnât comprehend what was happening but it was something that you were used to when you lived at home, you assumed it was Tuk not realizing she wasnât there.
You drifted off again.
~~
Waking up you noticed a rather large hand covering your torso
You freeze realizing who it is and start to panic. Slowly turning you see that he is still asleep
You let out a relived sigh, but he opens his eyes, your mouth slightly agape when you see this.
âYou move a lot in your sleep, you looked really uncomfortable. But you slept just fine in my arms hm?â He was smirking down at you
You lightly pushed him back sitting up.
âDonât Aonung.â You were embarrassed, but in all honesty that was the best sleep you had since you got here.
âWell, say that itâs me repaying you for your help.. if you ever need me back here Iâll do this little sleep thing with you.â He sounded kinda genuine, you didnât know how to feel. The guy that was kinda a pain in your side but also very protective, confident, amazing on the eyes⌠your mind trailed off again while staring down at him.
âLike what you see?â He was of course looking back at you, but his comment made you snap out of the trance.
You roll your eyes
âWhatever.. go get ready for your Ceremony. You have a big day today, so go.â
Your words were not harsh and you didnât shoot down his idea, so he took that as a maybe to his suggestion.
~~~
Him leaving the mauri he wave and thanked you again âThank you yawneâ with that he left leaving you speechless.
The Oloâeyktanâs son called you yawne.
You, not even originally from this village, pretty average.. you thought there was plenty of other women in this village that could suite the requirements of his mate⌠but you? Obviously youâve thought of the possibility, but your relationship with him was kinda off. Seeing him almost daily when you talked to each other it was like bickering, your friends like to say you both sound like an old married couple. Youâd always find him catching glimpses of you, when you did heâd always smirk or pretend like he wasnât. You did the same though, mapping out his features, memorizing the patterns on his skin⌠but that doesnât mean you like each other.. right?
~~~~
-mini time skip-
The ceremony was amazing, the pieces you made suited him very well and they looked great on him, and he got quite the few compliments from them.
After there was a party to celebrate. You were by kiri, talking to her about ewya knows what when a guy from the village comes up to you.
âHello Y/Nâ You know him as Nashâvi, recently he has been trying to talk to you more and more but in the past Kiri has said that heâd pick on and never apologized and makes her uncomfortable
âHello..?â Youâre used to him coming up to you from time to time but unless he apologized or owned up to his mistake, you would keep conversation short.
âI was wondering if you wanted to dance?â At this point Kiri had left, leaving the two of you alone
âOh I donât know Iâm not really-â you were cut off by someone wrapping an arm around your shoulder.
âSorry but she already agreed to dance with me.â It was Aonung, your saving grace. You gave him a tankful look and Nashâvi walked away.
âTskâ he looked aggravated at the boy walking away. You squeezed his hand catching his attention.
âSo, weâre dancing now?â You gave him a smug look that heâs usually give you.
Now itâs his turn to roll his eyes
âYeah, you know you want to.â You sighed smiling.
âMaybe I do?â With that he took your hand and lead you to the dance circle.
You both danced till you were tired and your feet burned. By the end of the party you could barley walk.
~~~
Going back to your mauri, Aonung offered to take you back, which you agreed.
You were leaning against him while he semi-held you up.
âAre we even nowâ he broke the comfortable silence. âHm? What do you mean?â You looked up at him and he paused for a second, getting caught in them.
He thought about it for a second â..never mind Iâd spend my whole life repaying you if I had the chance.â Again his words got you and your face started heating up.
âY/N⌠can u court you?â Your skin was a light purple hue and you didnât know what to say to his forwardness. He really did liked you.
You think about his request for a second.
âNoâ instantly he looked disheartened, but you werenât finished. âNo courting MaâAonung Iâd love be your mate for life.. I see you.â
Now his face was heated, looking down at you he put his forehead to yours
âI see you Y/Nâ
With that you leaned into each other closing the space, and kissed.
so scrumptious omnomnom

love for the mighty warrior.
pairing: neteyam x fem! omaticaya reader (part two- final part!) part 1
outgoing reader (usually), it girl of the clan, arranged marriage
prompt: you were the girl in the clan that showed the most promise from a young age, so of course you were going to be mated with toruk maktoâs firstborn son. but you wanted to marry for love and could never be with him⌠or so you thought.
the days went by quickly as you grew to know neteyam. he was a lovely person with a steadfast heart. and he held true to his word, not interfering with your wishes to become a warrior. his grandmother and your mother got along very well, as they both wanted you to learn how to be a healer as well, believing that multifaceted women were strong.
suddenly, the idea of becoming tsahĂk, and in turn his mate, did not seem so bad. âneteyam.â you called out. âplease help me mount my ikran. i must hunt to prepare dinner for our conjoined families!â you said, with a tinge of excitement. something about your families combining gave you a sense of hope, even if you did not realize it.
âof course, ma (yn). would it be okay for me to come along?â he asked gently, as he put what he was working on away to come assist you. the way that he would hurriedly drop everything for you made your heart flutter. it felt good for someone other than your mother to have your best interests at heart.
âhmm, okay!â you agreed. âbut the last one there has to carry all of it back!!â you squealed, racing off on your trusty ikran, making tsaheylu. you waved at him from the clouds and sped away. being with him made you feel like yourself again, regaining your competitive spirit. soon, you saw him behind you, dodging trees and other clan members that were flying, smiling at you with excitement.
you landed atop your agreed upon meeting spot, dismounting and standing in a victory pose. not soon after, he joined you, looking mockingly defeated. âthis race was not fair, you see. you started way before me!â he complained, throwing his hands up in exasperation. âwell⌠headstart or not⌠it looks like i won!!â you said happily.
âbut (yn)⌠i wouldâve carried it back anyways⌠no need to hurt my pride with a stupid race!â he said, slumping over your shoulder. you simply pat his back knowingly, comforting him for what you had him do. âohh, poor baby! does âteyam not like losing!?â you said, giggling as he sighed and walked over to get his hunting supplies.
as you went to get yours, you heard him grumble about how it was âunfairâ and that he would âget you next timeâ. such a silly boy, but even as he sulked he was beautiful to you. you see, you had realized your feelings for the boy a long while ago, but you couldnât bring yourself to say anything to him yet. the time was not right.
âwell, ma âteyam, meet me back here just before sunset so we can leave together.â you said, skipping away, excited to hunt for the first time in a while. since youâve been busy with all the preparations of becoming tsahĂk, you didnât have time for your first love anymore. hunting.
as you heard the thwip of the last arrow, knowing you had caught enough, you went to go retrieve your arrows and carry back all your catches. it seemed you were the first to arrive, so as you strapped your gear to your ikran, you decided to pray to eywa about guidance on your feelings.
âoh eywa, please direct me on what to do. you see, i have finally fallen for him. but i am scared. how does it feel to lose yourself to someone completely? what if he does not feel the same and is only doing this for his people? how could i blame him for that..?â you monologued, not hearing the crunches of the leaves from someone coming up behind you.
finally, you completed your prayer and opened your eyes, looking around to see him. shocked, you jolted and leaned back against a tree, hoping he hadnât heard all that. â(yn)⌠i⌠feel the same.â he said, looking at you with love-filled eyes. you let out a small gasp, finally feeling it was the right moment.
âneteyam, i⌠i see you.â you said confidently, finally being sure of your feelings. maybe this was the gift that eywa had provided you with. âi see you too, ma (yn), but i think you already knew that.â he said with a grin as he leaned in to press his forehead to yours. âmay i?â he asked, looking down at your mouth and then back up to your eyes. he never lost his gentlemanly touch, even in moments like this. âof course.â you said, leaning up to press a small kiss to his smiling lips.
you two stayed in each otherâs embrace for a while, until you looked up and noticed that the sun had set already. âoh eywa, we have to go! itâs late already!!â you said, hurriedly rushing the boy up and on to his ikran. even he knew the one thing you hated was to keep your mother waiting, so he let it go. he knew you two would have more moments like this to come, especially now that you had opened up to him.
you quickly flew back, excitedly thinking about the stories that you would tell your mother about your confession to neteyam. he flew up to you, noticing your dazed look, and shouted over to you. âhey! i never thought i would find a warrior mightier than i, but⌠here you are! i see you, yawne. thank you for finally letting me in.â he said, with happy tears jerking at his eyes.
you got flashbacks to the day you met, and noticed all the signs even then. he was truly perfect for you. you threw him a smile and began doing brilliant tricks in the air, all while your ikran chirped and squeaked happily. you did love the mighty warrior, and you were lucky to have him as yours.

âmama⌠today has been a beautiful day.â you remarked as you laid in your motherâs gentle arms. she simply hmmâed, already having an idea of what you meant. she had already seen all the lovesick glances you gave him, even if you didnât realize it. she knew, well before you did, and was proud of her daughter for coming to terms with it herself.
âi think it is time for us to mate before eywa.â you stated proudly. you were sure of yourself and ready, finally feeling restored to your former glory. now that you had a wonderful man beside you, and your headstrong personality, you knew that this was the right choice. your mother cooed and held your face in her hands, realizing that her daughter had finally grew up. âmy child has grown to be so mightyâŚâ she thought, but only showed her teeth in a proud grin and embraced you.
but you had more than just your mother now. you had him as well, and you were sure that things would be good with him by your side.
