So let’s talk about the idea of bottleneck-bred dragons aka genB.

Start with 32 (25) unrelated, unbred dragons. Pair them off and breed each pair once. Pick one offspring from each nest, exalt the parents and any surplus kids (this step is important!) and then pair off the 16 (24) dragons. Breed, choose one offspring from each nest, exalt everything else, and so on.

Key step: exalting siblings to prevent breeding, exalting parents after their first and only nest to prevent additional breeding.

Eventually you’ll breed the last 2 dragons. All the kids in the resulting nest are 5+ generations removed from all other non-exalted dragons on the site. These genB dragons can breed with any other dragon on the site.

My current clan (permanent dragons only-- one missing cause he's still a baby for four more days.) ...I gaze at it trying to see a trend, a rhyme, a theme... Nope. Just a bunch of dragons I like a lot, haha.

Ok so I finally got around to tallying up all the genes I currently need for my various project babies. It's a doozy, I think even more so than my first round of gene projects.

1,690,000 treasure, about. (Without discounts, and also assuming the gem genes would be bought in gems.) ...And, 7,750 gems. (Which, currently, would tack on approximately 3,100,000 treasure, bringing the total estimated cost to a whopping 4,790,000 treasure.)

I've been pretty inactive as far as treasure-earning lately, but even so I'm starting at about halfway to 1 mil. I think it'd be fun to pile all the treasure I need to buy everything at once, maybe even wait for a full or partial dominance discount~

And the shopping list: Chi: Bar/Daub, Taro: Iridescent/Shimmer/Gembond, Thor: Bar/Seraph, Pudding: Scroll of Eternal Youth, Newguy: Coatl/Iridescent/Shimmer/Underbelly, and Yig: Ripple/Eye Spots/Crackle.

Among other wanted things like lair expansions and new apparel... wish me luck!

Does anyone else occasionally put a little extra thought into Auction House purchases? I've done it twice now, haha...

If I'm looking an an expensive item sometimes I see the same price listed by several different people, so I'll look up the usernames of the sellers and make my purchase based on the profile instead of just who happens to be the "top" listing result.

This time I paid a single extra treasure, two listings down, to buy from a fellow Nature flighter who had a lovely profile. Hahaha

How to save money in FR to buy the thing

put all of your current treasure and gems in your vault. You cannot take treasure out unless it is for the thing you’ve been saving up for

You may only spend the T that you make that day from your familiars, the coli, AH sales, Fairgrounds, and the Trading Post dragons. This limits how much money you have on hand to probably ~20-100k depending on how you play.

Play FR how you want, be sure to stay hydrated.

Go to sleep at your bedtime (try to get at least 8 hours okay its good for you)

when you wake up in the morning, after you’ve had a good breakfast log into FR and put all of your treasure and gems into the vault

Repeat until you are rich
