Abombinaball Bath Bomb

Such a cute bath bomb! This guy was part of a Christmas range several years ago and is brought back in the kitchen every once in a while. The color is the most brilliant blue and it is filled of silver luster. It smells like sweet mint to me and I think it is much better suited for warmer months. While it’s not my favorite, mostly due to its scent, it is overall a great bath bomb. I may even grab a couple more then next time it is made in the kitchen.

Thankfully Lush is starting the year with a less than exciting kitchen menu. I am trying to buy less from the kitchen and Lush in general to save money so this is helpful. I have actually never tried any of these products and while a few of them interest me I think I will be passing this week.

New Years Resolutions

As the year comes to an end I've begun to reflect upon the year my obsession with Lush began and have decided I want to set some goals and resolutions for 2017. 1. Cut down on stash! Especially shower gels and jellies. 2. Stop purchasing so many multiples of items - it makes getting thru the stash boring. 3. Start using more regular line and seasonal ranges rather than kitchen exclusives. 4. Don't buy boring bath bombs! They just end up at the bottom of my stash until they turn to duds. Also don't buy them from the kitchen over the summer months - I think the humidity is ruining them during shipments. All my kitchen bombs from over the summer turned to duds. 5. Don't buy products that I won't use. Like yellow or orange bath products unless they smell amazing. 6. Purchase smaller sizes of shower gels rather than the larger ones.

A Christmas Cocktail

Looking for a bath cocktail to spice up your cold winter night? This concoction of cloves, cinnamon, and apple create a yummy and warming bath for the coldest of nights! First I squirted some Hot Toddy Shower Gel across the bottom of my tub. This adds to the overall scent, helps create some bubbles, and is a good way to ensure there is some surfactant to stop the bath bomb pigments from sticking or creating a color ring. Second I take a knife and slice about a third of the Holly Golightly Bubble Bar and place it into a sieve (small metallic strainer) and run it under high pressure bath water as the tub starts to fill up. Once dissolved I continue to let the tub fill and will agitate the water by swishing my hands around the surface of the water. Finally I pop in the tub and let the So White Bath Bomb go to work frothing and foaming beautiful rings of blue and yellow. Once finished you are left with a sparkly green water and the delicious smell of spicy apples. Enjoy!

Youki-Hi Bath Bomb

I was so excited when this product came into the kitchen last February that I ordered a handful thinking I would love them. Boy was I wrong. Now if you like strong heady jasmine scents like the Lust range you will love this bomb but if you like jasmine like the Silky Underwear range you may not like these. As soon as I opened the box I was hit by this pungent odor and I couldn’t bear to unwrap them. Once put in the water I was hoping some of the other scents would come into play and the strong almost headache inducing scent would tone down. I was wrong. This has been the only product from Lush that I actually could not use. It was pretty sad because the bomb is very pretty sparkly peach color and has lovely red salts and made for a great Chinese New Year bath…in theory. If you like this Lush scent family you will love this bath bomb!

Monsters Ball Bath Bomb

Monsters Ball was a new Bath Bomb brought out for their Halloween range this year (2016) but it's scent is no stranger to the Halloween range. This bomb shares it's scent with the Calacas/Day of the Dead range which is a sweet neroli lime scent described by most as smelling like lime candies. This scent range rivals the Celebrate range as my favorite scent from Lush and has been used in the Calavera, Skullduggery, and Enchanter bath bombs. This bomb carries the scent beautifully and makes some of the prettiest bath art in my opinion. It froths blue, pinks, and purple as soon as it hits the water and leaves the most magical deep blue purple water behind; just spooky enough for a great Halloween or autumn bath. The cyclops eye is also a small bath melt and I love it! I am usually not a fan of melts and avoid bath bombs with them but I made an exception here and I am so glad I did because this melt is entirely different! It is very small so it adds just enough moisture to make the water and your skin soft but by no means does it leave the usual sticky greasy top layer of oil that most melts create. This is definitely one of my top bath bombs and I hope they bring it back next year for Halloween.

Moon on a Stick Bath Bomb

I had to cut out the first two minutes because this video was entirely too long. It essentially starts out as a grey white moon shaped bomb and produces white foam with a ton of silver glitter in it and then it begins to spill out the most beautiful colors! Enjoy!

Moon on a Stick Bath Bomb

An exclusive brought out by the U.K. Lush Kitchen during Halloween this year. Such a gorgeous bomb! It spews grey, silver, blue, and purple colors along with gorgeous silvery glitter. This shares it’s scent with the Lily Savon/Ghost range which is a lovely light floral scent of lilies and roses. This is a top Lush product of mine and I will definitely buy more when they become available again.

Lush Favorites 2016

As the year comes to an end I’ve decided to reflect upon my favorite Lush products that were brought out this year.

5. So White Bath Bomb

Okay, okay so this isn’t exactly “new” but really it’s entirely different from the older version with the exception of the scent which stayed the same. Brought out again for the Christmas range this year with a new look; I love the new addition of a green leaf on the outside to give the appearance of an apple that happens to match the bath bombs scent perfectly. The real showstopper is the color on the inside. It just foams the most beautiful blue and yellow and leaves the bath a brilliant bright green color like a Granny Smith apple.

4. Roller Bath Bomb

Infamous Roller…cause of much heartbreak and website crashing. This was brought out as an Oxford Street Exclusive and was also offered in the Lush Kitchen during March which is when Mother’s Day is celebrated in the U.K. (being an ignorant American I never knew this was celebrated on a different day than in the US until I started using Lush UK products) and several times subsequently but has been very elusive to many selling out in minutes when offered online. I was able to get my hands on some and I LOVED them. Gorgeous Yummy Mummy strawberry tonka scent and some of the most stunning bath art makes it a top product contender. However, they store horribly going crumbly within months and subsequent batches have produced a lot of duds and less than stellar bath art at only a month or two old which was disappointing. Regardless when fresh these are an amazing product and I will buy them again if they are available.

3. Bubbly Shower Gel

Sharing its scent with the Golden Wonder Bath Bomb and Celebrate range Bubbly is a bright fizzy sweet citrusy gel. I personally think it’s got a stronger orange scent than the Celebrate range but they are very close. Aside from it’s amazing scent the gel is a pretty orange color and is incredibly thick. You need very little to get a great lather and I have barely made a dent in my medium sized bottled after using it all month long. This was a new release for the Christmas range and I hope they bring it back next year.

2. Mistletoe Bath Bomb

Mistletoe was another new product brought out for the Christmas range this year. It shares its scent with the Silky Underwear scent family which is a powdery soft floral jasmine scent. I usually dislike jasmine scents like the Lust scent family but this is a softer jasmine and is much less heady and in your face. The bath bomb is beautiful to look at with an ornate pattern of mint green and magenta. Once in the water it puts on a colorful frothy show of green, pink, blue, and finally purple and leaves the water a bright pink color. This is another product I hope they bring back again next year.

1. Monsters Ball Bath Bomb

My absolute favorite Lush scent is the Calacas/Day of the Dead scent. It’s a super sweet and tangy lime scent with neroli and I just love it. This is a new bath bomb for the Halloween range and I thought it was perfect! It had a cute cyclops bath melt eye and funny little blue ridges along its head - it reminded me of a cross of the Monsters Inc characters. It puts on a beautiful show in the water with purple, pink, and blue sometimes reminiscent of a Twilight and leaves perfect frothy bath art rings. My favorite part is the magical and spooky deep purple blue water it leaves you with the the small bath melt eye adds the perfect amount of moisture without making you slimy. Nothing not to love about this product and I hope it comes back next year. I stocked up on an obscene amount just incase Lush wants to play with my heartstrings.

Introductions

After a year of complete and utter obsession with Lush Ltd and Lush Cosmetics products I have decided to start a blog. This is a place where I can store the copious amount of images and videos I have of the Lush I have used over time that have begun to take up phone memory and irritate the hell out of my Instagram followers who are not fans of Lush. I also figured since I’m spending thousands of dollars on something I ultimately end up using and have nothing to show for I might as well document the journey. Enjoy!
