Throw Your Hands Up! : [Performance]
﴾ ♪ ﴿ —‣ The sun was drooping slowly back toward earth, signaling the coming of night. Tiki torches were lit and music bumped in the background. He could hear the yells and laughter of those who came to the shindig, happily playing amongst themselves. Syo’s fists curled and uncurled as he paced back and forth in the wing of stage right. He had already done his warm ups, his sandals were secure to his feet, everything was ready. His mic had been tested not once, but three times that evening. His choreography was down pat; everything was all set. A head popped from around the corner of a curtain that was held up by the makeshift stage, “Ready to go?” He nodded and the person disappeared to prep his music.
Staring out, Syo watched as a smoke machine pumped fog on the stage, creating a plume to hide his appearance. The music from the DJ faded out and pink lights flickered as the music for Otokogi Zenkai Go! Fight! began to blare around him. Syo immediately walked out, all smiles, his voice deep for the opening spoken words. As it transitioned into singing, the smoke cleared, revealing his form. Quick steps and the pumping of fists moved him around the stage in a rowdy fashion that suited him. Crystal eyes glistened in joy as his body moved seamlessly through his movements.
It had been some time since he felt this normal. Being in his own element, Syo flourished. He felt the most alive when he was on stage, giving it his all. When the song ended and the applause and cheering had reached him, he put the mic to his lips. “Thank you!” he walked along the stage, looking out at everyone. “I usually preform with my group, ST☆RISH, but since I’m here on my own I hope my own songs will do! Are you ready for more?” He paused a few seconds as the crowd responded. As scheduled, the music picked back up and he was singing along to his next set, Oresama Rondo.
This progressed through all his songs. Syo sang with his cheery voice, showed off his cute but masculine looks and danced like he always had. It made his heart flutter in a way other than his birth defect dictated. After each song he spoke a little to the crowd, indulging them to be hype and bounce along to the music out in the yard. He chose Cosmic Runner as his next song.
Finally, his last solo song was Subete Wo Uta Ni!, a quick paced bop that was a good transition to his final performance. Syo flashed a peace sign near his eye, striking a pose at the end, his other fist in the air. He dropped his stance, “Are you all having a good time?” he paused, “Are you ready for more?” another pause. “Let him hear it!" Horns pierced the air in a fast tempo, another’s voice floating through the speakers. Reiji joined him on stage and they began to move in sync just as they had practiced for Every Buddy!, their duet.
