     GOBLINS... they were nuisances of creatures, always      sticking their hideous little faces in places that they didn’t      belong. Jareth more or less felt STUCK with them, however      they were better than nothing- and he enjoyed the servitude      they provided. the gilded figure sweeps across his throne      room, cape dragging behind him as a letter was held in      gloved fingers. conveniently it’d been stuck into the back of      one of his goblins via a dagger, and he almost felt pity for the      dead thing.       the fae GLOWERS, lips pursing tightly as mismatched eyes      flicker across the blood-stained page. a glance is given to his      servants, and a head count quickly shows he was indeed missing       a good 20 goblins at least.

                             ‘ pillaging? how disgraceful. ‘      the king mutters, lazily tossing the parcel onto the ground whilst      goblins scurried into the dark corners of his den. he inhales slowly,       figure melting away in a blur of black and blue. it took only a second      before he re-materialized in this ‘llane’s’ throne room, a dark mist      rolling out from the top of his cape and pooling at his feet. HM. he      might’ve been IMPRESSED if the lion statues were made of actual      gold instead of just bronze treated with gold... regardless, gaze flickers       about as he releases his usual DRAWL.                                       ‘      you RANG? ‘

Took a long time to finish this as I left it sitting in my sketchbook for a few months, being too sad to colour it because of all the Bowie feelings! When Bowie’s music and Labyrinth were both massive parts of your youth (and, who am I kidding, fully-fledged adult life), it’s like a little part of you has been taken away due to that wonderful man’s untimely death. However, it’s the 30th anniversary of Labyrinth this year and that’s a good reason to celebrate amidst the sadness. It’s only forever, not long at all!

I haven’t drawn a proper illustration for Jareth in a long time, it seemed appropriate to do so now… Gonna miss you David.

I am deeply saddened by the departure of David Bowie, whose influence majorly impacted my life and work.  This piece is a tribute to my favorite glam rocker, and one of my favorite movies.
