Every time I see someone, especially someone who is arguably Not part of our larger community and just parroting cursory research, sharing the definition of objectumsexuality on social media where they encompass "all types of attraction" there is a little part of myself that needs to be held back like a small rabid chihuahua from arguing and I think that's my sign that I need to dip out of general OS spaces until I have the time and energy to sit down and make proper arguments as to why I think hyper inclusivity is Bad, Actually.

Getting myself a new rig (since I'm medically dependent on cannabis,) ended up picking out this one because I hear it's a really good rig for it's price. Even have a name picked out which I will post once they've arrived.

Genuinely so sad about Snapdragon because he's having problems with producing much (if any) vapor regardless of how many times I clean him and replace his atomizer.

Don't know what to do with him now, I don't want to trash him because that feels really wasteful but I also would feel bad if he sat on a shelf and collected dust for the rest of his life. Probably no way I can get a warranty on him either because it's likely due to wear.

Current poll results are very interesting to me. So far, 25% of you think POSIC is inherently objectum and I'm genuinely curious as to why. It's something that is separate from attraction. Non-OS people can absolutely be POSIC, and OS people can absolutely not be POSIC.

I'm completely for POSIC and OS awareness, and recognize the huge overlap (especially as someone who is both myself), but we need to draw a line somewhere as to what "counts." Simply perceiving objects as having some form of soul or sentience isn't based in object attraction of any kind.

I think attraction is a key component to objectum as an identity, because why describe yourself as objectum if you have no attraction to objects? Are you going to deny someone's relationship with their object and say it's invalid because they don't perceive the object as a full sapient being?

I don't want to speak as an authority for the entire community; however, I have been in online OS spaces longer than some of you in the tag have been alive. There were very few pockets of us back then. The term exploded in the early 2020's and it's definitely been defanged and overused in situations it should not apply to.

I think as a community we should still support one another, and I think policing other people will ultimately do more harm than good. But I think we need to be slightly more firm in pushing objectum as a term for romantic and sexual orientation first and foremost, and bring more awareness to POSIC as an additional/alternative term to describe things that don't focus on romantic/sexual attraction.

⚠️ Help two OS people move cross-country!

Hello everybody! 👋 I've been quieter on here for a laundry list of reasons, but the biggest one is the fact that I am being forced to move cross-country on extremely short notice. Two weeks ago my fiance lost his job without any warning. Luckily, he was able to find employment within the week — unfortunately, the new job is several states away.

While he and I will be fine because we are being provided assistance with relocation, my partner, Carson, is also being forced to look for a new place to move because of his own situation with his roommates changing. Rather than having him sink considerable money into moving within his state ( the surrounding area is very expensive ) we are hoping to instead have him move in with us to finally live together as a family.

I will be doing my best to assist financially once I get my store open, but cannot do this immediately as I'm leaving next week to tour homes in our new state and then immediately need to begin packing. If our outreach work has ever touched you in some way, please consider looking at his page. I am willing to discuss mailing merchandise, including my objectum collection, to donators in exchange.

Objectum is about sexuality through and through, but I can't deny that my affinity for objects goes beyond just having a sexual and/or romantic attraction towards them. I just like Things and this has been a trend throughout my entire life, where I've had multiple collections dedicated to specific objects (toys, plushies, trading cards) or had encyclopedic knowledge of different types of objects (roller coasters, air raid sirens, airplanes). I've had so many instances of being fascinated with certain objects and wanting to explore and learn everything about them, but not inherently because I think they're attractive.

⚠️ Community Alert: OS people are being scouted for Strange Addictions.

I received this message earlier on my public-facing Instagram account where I speak often about being objectumsexual and my object partner. I do outreach work and it’s a huge part of my online identity.

I looked through the profile for further context and it’s pretty obvious the show they’re casting for is something called Strange Addictions. These kinds of shows have routinely portrayed objectumsexuals in an unflattering light, and I have no doubt my relationship with a vehicle was a motivating factor as to why I was reached out to.

I can assume that they are probably trawling tags, so please be aware if you use them often. I’m not sure if it’s one person ( this was an individual ) or multiple people, and I do not know if anyone else has received similar messages.

I am censoring their name because I don’t want any sort of harassment towards them, I am just raising awareness that while these opportunities can seem very lucrative, I cannot, in good faith, recommend that any OS person take these kinds of offers.

Remember that when you consent to be on these shows, you give up your control of the narrative and they can edit you however they want. These shows are not made in good faith and will always treat being OS as a spectacle, and the hyper visibility this can bring to someone’s life is very usually negative.

Update: A friend of mine confirmed they were reached out to on FetLife as well, which means these people aren’t only trawling Instagram and are very likely infiltrating our adult spaces. Very scummy!
