Lisette nodded, though again she was not sure she understood. “And Sean, he is not so good at caring for you and your other sibling?” she asked, just to clarify. Still, none of it mattered if they took care of themselves better than their mother did. “Well, I am glad you cared for yourselves then. You seem to be doing well.”
Lux laughed. “Oh no. Think of it like this. Sean was the braun, you know. He was our strong guy, or a guard dog.” She smiled. Lisette was funny, and she didn’t realize it. “We did alright. We’re okay now. I think we’re a good example of how you can come from bad and still do okay.”
“They do actually! I can show you one. Do you wanna give them to an actual person, or do you just wanna drop them in a box?”
“Well, I guess I could just do the box thing. I don’t want people to see me. I don’t know why I don’t, but I just think if I donate it should be anonymous.”
Navi nodded, always curious to learn more tricks, in case she ever needed them. She followed Lux. The directions she gave seemed a little, well, mean–that was someone else’s drink–but she supposed if it was someone who could buy themselves another, there was really no harm. She found a man who seemed wealthy. He seemed pretty intent on his drink, though, so she leaned over next to him and whispered, “Have you seen my gorgeous friend?” The man, thankfully, turned to look, and Navi slipped his drink off the bar and brought it over to Lux. “Like this?”
When the man turned to look, Lux smiled and winked at him, in order to keep his attention so Navi could take his drink. After a moment he stopped looking at her, and turned back to the bar. Lux guided Navi from the bar, while the man looked for his drink. “That’s good. Just like that.” She smiled. “You’re a natural!” Lux loved sharing the tricks of the trade with people. This was how she grew up, and this was how she did things. “We probably won’t do that one again. People realize what happened pretty quick if you try again.”

“Everything okay, beautiful?”
“Everything is pretty good. I just need a drink. You know, like you need to eat. I need to drink.” She laughed
“It’s definitely not 5 o’clock, but that doesn’t matter. I need a drink.”
“I’m pleased to hear you say that. I would hate to be part of that awful tradition” he huffed again picturing Darren back home no doubt he had already told his stepbrother and Lord tremayne about it. “No.. No not again. I did steal a dog treat from a man.. Right out of his hands, but that was apparently due to magic. I have no desire to steal.”

“Magic? Do you have magic?” Lux loved meeting people with magic. They were always more fun, then people without it. “Fair enough, just thought you’d want to have some fun. We can have fun some some way else.”
Mikki chuckled. “Well, there are more than one charities out there. It would probably be the best to give presents to somewhere that helps families.”
“Alright. Alright. So you know where they are. Take me to one. Do they have drop off places?”
Lisette nodded, listening to the girl’s story. It seemed as though it was all sad except for her siblings. She did not understand exactly what it was, but it seemed as though the girl was okay, at least, for now. “And were you always with, ah…Oona, growing up?”
“Sometimes. Most of the town. Sean is the oldest, and Oona would leave for a trip or something and leave us at home, and put Sean in charge. I took care of us those days.” She smiled. “It was nice because we were just doing whatever we wanted when ever we wanted. We took better care of ourselves then she did of us.”
“Good, even if we end up in jail for hitting a royal. I’m pleading not guilty and saying he deserved it”, they let out a chuckle. “We’ve been waiting for so long, it’s finally happening!”, they placed a kiss on her forehead, “both, but I like hugs better”.
“I’ll be on your side then. They can’t prosecute us both!” Lila loved forehead kisses, and the ones Bailey gave were the best. Lux blushed slightly from the kiss. “Me too. You give good ones.”

Navi tried not to laugh watching the girl. It wasn’t funny–she was just oddly proud. People around here so rarely took her advice when it came to these sorts of things. They had such qualms about “paying for things” and the like. Well, she would give him a tip, later. She had money now. When Lux returned with the drink, Navi applauded her. “Very good. You are a natural.”
“Perfect!” Lux grinned, and looked around, spotting her mark. “What me to show you how I get free drinks?” Lux took Navi’s hand and lead her over to the other end of the bar. “Stay close to someone, and be aware of everyone around you. When someone orders a drink, wait until the bartender puts it down, make sure the person isn’t looking, and you take it, and then leave the bar. Very easy.” Lux hoped this wasn’t too much for Navi, but she seemed like the kind of girl who was up for anything.
“She is around here sometimes. When she’s not off doing more important things. She hepled me decorate,” Lisette explained, gesturing around. There were some of Gen’s hunting prizes on the walls, and antlers and animal hides were a general theme. “We met a few years ago. And I’ve been following around ever since, whenever she lets me. How about you? How long ago did you join your, ah, family?”
Lux looked around. “These are great. Very nice.” Lux wasn’t much a fan of this kind of decor but Lisette was obviously very attached to them. They seemed like gifts from Gen. Lux held back a comment on the part of about whenever Gen let’s her. It wasn’t her place to judge. “I was the first adopted. I was 3. And then everyone else came in about a year and a half later. We’ve been together all our lives.”
Elan timidly held out the bag for the stranger. He didn’t even know where to begin explaining. Darren told him to Grab it as he had forgotten them. Of course it would make sense that he was simply lying to make him look bad. Elan growled inside and shook his head. “I’m so terribly sorry for the mistake. I.. I wasn’t trying to steal your cloths miss. Honest. Here.”

“I would say it happens, but it doesn’t. This is honestly a first for me.” She sighed. “I believe you don’t worry about it.” Lux took the bag back and looked through it making sure everything was still there. “So are you going to make a habit of stealing people’s clothes? If so I can help you.”
Navi smirked. She loved when people were in awe of her, and Lux seemed to be quite awed indeed. She chuckled, slipping her hand around the girl’s shoulder and guiding her toward the bar casually. “Ah, it is the wonder of being a young, beautiful woman. You could do it too, if you wanted. Watch, lean over the bar, show some of the goods, and ask the bartender for a free drink.”
Lux was happy that Navi was willing to share her secret. These skills could come in handy for Lux one day. “I can?” Luz listened closely. “I don’t know if I can do that. That’s not how I get free drinks. We’ll do it your way, then I’ll show you mine.” She giggled. When the reached the bar, Lux leaned forward, and looked around. She tossed her hair, making sure enough people saw her then called for the bartender. “Hi. I need a drink.” She said with a pout, which she had just learned a few moments ago. The bartender started to make her drink, and when he finished, she leaned forward and smiled, “Thank you.” She said with a wink and then stepped back from the bar without paying. Quickly she turned to Navi, “Like that?”
