Sure! But be warned that there are better tutorials out there because I just do the bare minimum 😅

I use either

1. Free Video to GIF Converter | Adobe Express

I use this when I'm really lazy and I think the video looks fine as it is. It's free, so there's no customisation apart from trimming the video. So all I do is upload my video, trim it to the section I want to gif, then download it 🙂

2. Photoshop (I use Adobe Photoshop 2020)

I use this if I want to make adjustments, such as adding more colours to the gif, cropping, more frames, etc. I do the very basic here so if you already know how to make gifs in photoshop you can skip the below 😄

File > Import > Video Frames to Layers

Once you've selected the video you want to gif, this window will pop up

I always select the range I want to convert to a gif, just like the first option, because I don't trim my video beforehand. You can adjust the two small handles at the bottom of the player to do this. I make sure to play the clip as well so that I can check that I've included the bit I wanted 😊

For the checkbox to limit to every 2 frames, I usually have this ticked. From my understanding, this will play the gif at the same rate as the original video. I untick this rarely if I want to make my gif a bit slower.

Once you're happy with it and click OK, you'll be presented with this. The most important thing is the Timeline toolbar at the bottom. If you can't see this, make sure Window > Timeline is ticked.

If I want to crop the gif, I do it from here. You can do other adjustments too but I'm too lazy 😴

Then I click this little icon at the bottom left corner to convert into video timeline.

I play the video on loop to check again that it's the section that I want to gif and it's at the speed that I like 😄 If I want make the gif shorter I do it from here by using the little handles at both sides of the video.

Once I'm happy, I click this little icon again to go back to frame animation.

From here I select all frames by clicking the 3 bars icon.

Then File > Export > Save for Web (Legacy)

You'll be presented with this window. This is where I spend the most time in. I adjust the zoom level to fit the preview first, which you can do at the bottom left where you see the %s. Then I look at the colours & the overall quality of the gif, and most importantly, the gif size also at the bottom left. Tumblr has a limit of 10mb so I adjust accordingly. I have my usual settings displayed on the right side. As you can see in the tiny tiny text, the current gif is at 21.23mb❗

From here I'm going to adjust the dither algorithm that's currently set to 'Noise' right now, to whatever makes the gif look the best. I'll also adjust the image size using the %s to bring the file size down to below 10mb. I prioritise the number of colours and the dither algorithm, which are also the biggest determinators to the file size, so it's image size I adjust to make the file smaller 😄

In this example, I've decided to go with 'Pattern' and have found that 65% brings the file size down to 9.7mb. While doing this, I play the animation just to replay it again and again to confirm my choice. Once I'm done, I click Save... to save the gif into my files.

Leave it to granny to suddenly start hacking the mainframe 😀

Spring is starting to show here, the flowers are blooming & the trees are growing leaves 🌼🍃

Went on a trip to Finchwick to sell cow milk because I've officially gone below 1k simoleons! 😅

I didn't think harvesting the watermelons & etc would mean I won't have them as crops anymore 😟 my soil patches are empty now, patchy & the bunnies are unemployed for a bit

Annabelle lives with her granny from her mother's side. It's just them, the cats & the other animals of the farm. Granny keeps doing large cross-stitching on the rocking chair costing me 150 simoleons every 5 minutes 😟

The house they’re living in is actually where Annabelle’s mother grew up and died in (she’s dead). In my head, Annabelle’s parents have been divorced when she was very young and she was in her father’s custody until she broke things off with him for whatever reason 😁 Now as an adult, she’s decided to move in with her grandmother in the countryside as a way to reconnect with her mother

I actually did add her mother in at CAS then killed her off immediately just so I can have the Grandmother -> Granddaughter relationship. Idk if a recent update allowed you to do this without having a parent? I’m still at the for rent patch 😭💀 So her gravestone is actually chilling a bit further back outside the property. She occasionally comes in as a ghost to possess a jar in the kitchen 😀
