Spa of the Rockies - A Refreshing New Year
New Years Eve 2014… My boyfriend and I decided to spend a night away from the city and traveled to the heart of the Colorado Rockies to visit Glenwood Springs, CO. Glenwood Springs is famous for its natural hot springs and beautiful mountain views. After we pulled up to the hotel, we decided to take advantage of the late night hot springs just down the street.
There are two different pools at the Glenwood Hot Springs and Spa including a luxurious 104 degree soak pool and a 90 degree pool perfect for long swims. I’m always a fan of the heat, though after 10 minutes of soaking in 104 degree water it’s nice to cool down in the spacious 90 degree hot spring. It was a treat to spend New Years at hot spring as they allowed you to come and go as you please until 1AM. While we decided to head home before our fingers turned to raisins, the other visitors were able enjoy a celebration at midnight.
After a relaxing night at the hotel, we decided to scrub away 2013 with a mineral body scrub using natural salt minerals and local essential oils. Glenwood Springs’ Spa of the Rockies is a beautiful spa with scenic views and cozy rustic rooms. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and relaxed with my tropical green tea in hand and my cozy terry cloth robe provided by the spa.
The scrub was a quick 25 minutes and followed with a hot rain bar shower. After I was finished, I was provided with a soothing body lotion and directed to the locker room where I was able to steam and shower before I enjoyed my last few hours in the mountains.
The hot springs and spa was a luxurious way to ring in the new year. I came home feeling refreshed, nourished, and inspired to make my spa visits a regular thing for 2014.
Would I recommend the Spa of the Rockies to any ski goers passing through? Absolutely. If gorgeous mountain views and pampering is something you crave, Glenwood Hot Springs and Spa is a destination I would add to your radar.
