After a quick glance, Joe ducked behind the bar and filled himself a tall glass.

“Does Sobel know about this?” George asked. “Paratroopers are strictly prohibited from pursuing other employment opportunities.” 

Joe snorted. “Good thing I’m not getting paid then.”

“Arguably, you’re being paid in beer.”

George grinned up at him. Under the bar lights, his brown hair had a golden tint, and it reminded Joe a bit of the angels in the stained glass window back at church in Hughestown. The only beautiful thing in town, Granny used to say. He reached under the bar for another glass and filled it to the brim.

Friendly reminder that in four days, the grace period for Luztoye Week 2026 will be DONE! That means that on August 9th at 12AM EST, the Archive of Our Own collection will close and this blog will go dormant.

Everything made for grace period will receive their own rec list, similar to the wrapped for this year, and will receive the same comments on Ao3/reblogs that anything made during the week would have, though with a longer response time.

The normal rules apply for the grace period as well, so brush up on those if you're unsure on them. There's no prompts for this time period, though of course the ones for the week are still open to you!

thank you for not only organizing and running this awesome event but also for putting out some of the best and most well-written stories I've ever read, and finally, for being such a supportive and kind person.
