FIGHT KNIGHT day 425: I redesigned the bug sisters! Something I’ve been meaning to do for a while now. Really happy with how these turned out :>

The old designs are what I’d consider like 50% there, they have the basic ideas in place but they weren’t refined at all. My main goals were to address the shortcomings of the designs while emphasizing what I liked about them. Also to give the mantis glasses

My pal Bud at @budspornfollowing commissioned a linework of this grizzled bun named ‘Captain’, part of an alternate universe based on generations of humans gene-splicing themselves with traits of animals to survive the underground following a nuclear apocalypse. It was such an exciting idea I’m glad I had the opportunity to draw the main character of this AU.
