alistair-lan:
âI have a pub I frequent. Feels a tad bit more like home than most places, but theyâre under repairs. Lucky for me tonight, eh?â Alistair joked, trying his best to seem at ease around her. The last thing he wanted was for her to change her mind and turn on him like she did the other guy. Although the other guy sounded like a creep. âIt amazes me how the word ânoâ seems to mean less and less with each passing year. Sorry you had to put up with that sort of behavior in the first place. But his loss is my gain, so to speak.â He thanked the bartender for his drink and tipped the glass in the womanâs direction.
âWhatâs that saying? Like, a cloud lining or something. I donât know.â Minhee narrowed her eyes as she racked her mind for the answer, eventually waving her hand in defeat once she couldnât think of it. After all, she didnât get paid to keep track of the million expressions and idioms of English. âMeans even less after a few drinks, too,â she scoffed, rolling her eyes in response. Of all people, she was the last that had much of a right to get offended over rude behavior, but that wasnât going to stop her from basking in what positive attention sheâd managed to receive from it. âSâalright. Iâm sure heâll always remember me as the evil bitch that set him straight, the highest honor of all to have.â
