My schedule is overwhelming right now, but I know it will plateau in the next few weeks or even sooner once I realise what classes are mandatory and useful for me to attend in person.
I know that I said in my last post I was itching to work and looking forward to a new academic year, but I am already tired! I'm hoping that once the amount of times I have to travel to campus eases, it'll feel a bit better.

A new academic year begins, with my classes starting back up on campus from next week. Although I've been enjoying my holidays, towards the end I always feel bored and ready to dive back into routine again. And this year is no different. I'm itching to work!
I've taken on 3 units this trimester - a first year, a second year and a third year unit (all relating to water coincidentally) - which are all variations of water resources management.

Not related to my studies but, I had the absolute honour and pleasure to contribute to my friend's new album, Search and Wonder, by creating some artwork for it! What a blessing!
If you're interested, you can find his psychedelic-alternative rock music on Spotify, and many other platforms, under Yellow Monday.

I am finally over the finish line! It is finally all over! What a relief it is to feel this weight off my shoulders that I've been carrying for what feels like months! Despite the small joys and pleasures I've found in my classes, it's been a really difficult and overwhelming trimester.
But now that the academic year is over, the next few months for me will be spent enjoying the warm weather, resuming my hobbies and personal projects, visiting my family and childhood friends in Queensland, and getting married to the love of my life.
I can't wait to see you all in the new year - wishing you all a kind and restful remainder of your year! ♡

Although I haven't been posting, I've been spending these past few weeks enjoying the first warm months of spring - reading in the sunshine and watching everything bloom in the garden - and pushing myself to cross the finish line with the last few assessments and exams.
It's been a really difficult trimester, so much so, that I'm considering switching to a part-time load in the first trimester in the next academic year. But that is something that I can decide on later.

Spent the day with a new friend in the library (spending more time pouring over recent reads and planning a book club, rather than studying!)

Wish I was able to have a few days to prolong that feeling of rejuvenation after visiting the hot springs, but the past few days have been busy working on submitting assessments for my environmental planning and impact assessment unit and my elective for bushfire management.
Environmental planning and impact assessment drew from the content of our previous lecture with an environmentalist, who discussed the Port Phillip Bay channel deepening project. While the assessment for the elective focused on how our understanding and application of prescribed burning has changed over recent years in Australia, and how this has informed current policy and practice, with respect to bushfire management.

Spent this intra-semester break catching up on lectures and readings, learning to navigate rstudio for an upcoming assessment, and enjoying good food and even better company with @pefkaes!

Sometimes after submitting an assessment, I'm filled with such disappointment and dread at the prospect of receiving a grade back, just hoping to simply get a passing grade. So far, I have been pleasantly surprised with the grades I've received from those assessments. But every time this good turn of fortune happens, there's a slight fear that next time I won't be so fortunate.
