PARADISE CITY - Season One TeaserÂ
Smoldering
averyxardenâ:
The fae would have pressed his soul into the demonâs hands willingly, and perhaps it was due to that bond between them that he so easily sensed that Evanâs condition was no better than his own. His slender fingers gripped the demonâs arm, and so brightly did his eyes burn as he defiantly stared up at the dark creature he so dearly loved. âYouâre hurt.â That was the only thing at the forefront of his mind now, and how his anger flared, giving him a new burst of energy despite the loss of blood.
âTheyâre dead, and soon so will the one that dared to harm you.â He shifted in Evanâs arms, stubborn as always as he tried to halt the demonâs steps. âI want to be with you. I can heal well enough on my own given some time but until then I wonât have you continuing on like this.â
A demon in love- who would have guessed. As Avery fought him, Evan slowed, stopping just shy of the exit. He looked to his fae as he spoke and nodded, dragging himself back toward his chambers. He was silent, only because the pain had yet to ease and he didnât want the weakness to show. As they reached the door, he was careful to hold Avery up, open it, and slip them both inside. He didnât know where Freyja was, nor did he care, he simply wanted to get them to the bed. His poor sheets- he just had them cleaned. Settling the fae onto the bed, he shifted, opened a drawer in the small table beside, and lifted out a box. Now was a good a time as any, Evan supposed. The edge of the bed greeted him, his fingers trembled because of the blood loss and worry coursing through him as he unlatched the golden clasp that held it closed.
âIâve been meaning to offer this to you,â witchâs magic permeated the room, and he settled the offering between them. Resting on a bed of red velvet, a thin leather collar with a delicate gold O ring and a heart shaped black onyx pendant peered up at them. âItâs the only one Iâve ever offered,â he whispered, looking to Avery for a quiet moment, âand very likely the only one I ever will.â He wanted to explain further but he was tired, and they had resting to do if they were meant to be on their feet the next day. âItâs alright if you say no.â

â
Demitri couldnât help but chuckle at her comment. He knew sheâd rather be in charge, and even tell him what to do, but now was not the time. He held onto her hand tightly, secretly pleased with her complying with what he wanted. Heâd definitely bring that up again once they were out of the maze and safe. He tugged on her hand as he led them away from where she had come from.
The vampire couldnât help but admire the work that the crazy circus man had put into the maze. Why hadnât I thought of something like this? He thought as he suddenly felt something pierce his arm. He quickly moved backwards, using his speed to not only move away quickly, but to yank Valerie with him. Long metal spikes protruded from the cement wall. âFuck.â He hissed as he raised his free hand, wiping away the blood that was now bubbling out of his wounds. Just as quickly as they had happened, his body was healing it.Â
There was only one way he felt like he could get out of there without many more injuries. He knelt down and quickly scooped Valerie into his arms. âYou can reprimand me later.â He grumbled as he then held her tightly and used his vampire speed and focus to run through the maze and dodge every obstacle that they ran into.Â
He saw the exit, the end of the fucking maze, and then suddenly the ground gave out from under him and he practically threw Valerie ahead so that she didnât get caught in whatever the fuck he was dropping into. Demitri reached out and grasped the edge of the floor before his whole body could fall into the chasm. He let out a hiss as he heard his shoulder pop out of place from his bodyâs weight that was now dangling. âValerie! A little help!âÂ
No where on her resume did sahe state that she was damsel in distress and yet, Demitri was scooping her up like this was some Disney fairy tale story. Okay- it was a little endearing; so the protest fell deaf on her tongue as her fingers wound into his shirt. The jarring steps did fuck all for the gash in her side, only made her groan out in pain as he leapt forward- only to throw her from his grip. She landed with a hard crack on the ground, The daze hit her and for a moment her vision started to blacken at the edges but no- he was calling for her and she needed to get to him.
Rolling onto her stomach, she crawled to where heâd fallen, gripped his arm and pulled as hard as she could. âLose some fucking WEIGHTâ she exclaimed as she heaved him back onto solid ground- pissed a moment later when she felt the nails snap. âfuck-â shaking her wrist to rid herself of the string, she turned to him to check him over only to stop just shy of it. A looming shadow slithered across the ground. Her gaze raked upward, and she froze in place. If the presence of the Angel wasnât jarring enough, it ripped through her and suddenly she was fading to the background, the darkness surged forth in its place.
âRun,â the demon commanded, shoving at him with its clawed hand. Pushing themselves from the ground, stretching into the space, they looked toward their enemy with determination- uncaring that they might not make it through this battle. Just as they moved to strike, the image disappeared and turned into something they did not recognize. It had to have been a mirage, or an entity that could change at will- and this particular picture must have only been for Demitiri. Whatever it was, they did not care.
Now it was their turn to do the rescuing, and they grabbed him by an arm to haul him upward. Pulling the vampire against their side, an arm wound around him tightly, they brushed forward toward the exit, completely ignoring that theyâd unsheathed all that they were in a matter of seconds- and they were certain that Dem would have questions- but the answers would have to come later.

Location: Lost Forest Faction: None || Open Ground Open to: All
TW: Finger Injury, Torture/Torture Mention, Teeth Pulling, Psychological Break, Trauma Mention, State of Psychosis, Gore, Body Mutilation/Body Horror, PTSD. The sound of gunfire is both a blessing and a curse; the noise of bullets emptying, silencer attached or not, is a needed reprise for Cole thatâs not quite any other. From his hand, itâs manageable. He knows that metal â the kind that isnât all that harmless to the supernatural, is a comfort. Means that the custom forged salt-laced-silveriron does formidable damage to the majority Kaysonâs aiming for. Place the pistol in anotherâs hand and itâs suddenly a device that triggers his mind to act out, to remind him of the dangers; the trauma that sits like a friend in the crevices of his thoughts and offers him so little reprieve. Cole can only sit there, haunted by the past until something pulls him from it.
And usually, itâs the same screaming he dreads to hear, a twisted, sickening roar of agony that only drives the man to clench fists around a weapon of defence and to put an end to the cause. Itâs all he wants of the world; to rid the monsters that plague it. Everything else, his sanity even can be sacrificed if that is the achievable end goal.
Itâs cold, Kaysonâs not immune to the prickles of condensation that tease his arms as the darkest hours of the night swallow him, bury all moonlight behind high hanging branches and low grown leaves that paw at him as though they may detach and cling to his skin. Like arms that want to wrap around him and engulf the man, bury him in the earth beneath his feet and let dust become of the Second. Cole considers the thought for a moment, pulled out of it when his finger tightens on the trigger and a bang of a bullet firing down the shaft of a pistol resounds in the expanse of the forest.
Itâs target practice. Not the kind so simply permitted in the walls of the Hideout. Cole doesnât want prying eyes witness to what heâs doing; the slightly monstrous thing that he feels an overwhelming sense of need to partake in. Thereâs a figure, shrouded in shadows that are cast by haphazard Oak trees, scorched by past flames and emitting a strangely struggled sound from between their lips. The howl thatâs forced from them echoes; itâs intentional, Coleâs not beyond the idea of attracting hungry parties to his location, he dares them too even. Craves the kill like any creature cursed with dark magics, only, his motivation is driven by hate.
Driven by this ideology that what heâs doing is right.
And the creature strapped to the trunk of the tree, fingerless, absent working limbs and screeching like a banshee at every new wound Cole inflicts is all put down to the idea that what heâs doing is for the greater good. Thereâs a sever absence of flesh on the creature, if it werenât so dark, the rotted bone would be visible from the shredded skin of where a blade has peeled it layer by layer, left pale streams like ribbons hanging from itâs form. Â
Coleâs arm lowers, the leathers heâs wearing squeaking when he closes in on the vampire thatâs been in his clutches for days now, only finally granted a death thatâs been so desperately begged for. But Coleâs far from done. Heâs blaming everyone for the lack of control at the circus; what was so out of his hands, out of his depth. Happens to be that this specific vampire fell into his clutches, so easily caught and when he made light work of prying digits off, testing the capabilities of the monsters healing process, he knew he was buried in dark thoughts that couldnât be so easily forced aside.
The distance closes, Coleâs fist rockets in pain when it collides with the face of the creature, expects it to be as like-brick as it is, relishes like a broken thing at the pain produced; on both sides. Heâs keen to see how long it lasts; how much more time the vampire has in its state of bloodlust, prevented from causing harm by heavy chains that bind them to the wood. Coleâs fist doesnât stop at just one hit.
And suddenly, thereâs pliers. Heâs truly surprised heâs made it this far â so out in the open, so without control to his surroundings and so blissfully ignorant to how easily his own death could come. And thereâs the point of being beyond caring. Coleâs lifting the metal contraptions, uses them to force a bloodied mouth open; squeezes the cheeks where only reddened muscle is evident, wraps around the creatureâs chin to secure it whilst he tightens the other on a single remaining fang in the vampireâs mouth.
Youâve never heard a wail like it.
Thereâs no hesitation in the yanking of the tooth, a scraping of bone exiting flesh; breaking out of gums is almost too satisfying that Coleâs ready to pry another out. But thereâs none left. Thereâs hard rocks beneath his boots already, can already hear the crack of ivory breaking under his weight, crushed into the blades of grass and lost to the earth; given freely; forcefully to Mother Nature to do as she pleases. The illegible curses that spit red all over Coleâs face are hardly a bother, heâs disgusted with it, spits any excess blood of the creature to the ground as though itâs merely a slight inconvenience to him. Kaysonâs laughing now, a wicked grin thatâs not reflective of a mortal man with a conscience. Itâs long buried underneath the harsh flickers of bloodshed that obscure his vision every time he blinks; sands of a beach he canât ever forget hanging there, hooking into him and choking him where he stands.
And then reality hits him like a bullet of its own.
Heâs on the ground, hands clawed at his head and a vicious screaming of a wounded vampire loud in his ears; it wonât stop. âQuiet,â itâs hissed, the Second is muttering incoherant words; almost monstrous in its own right as he attempts to gather his wits, only realises heâs on the floor after minutes, knees bent upwards and eyes fixated on the teeth that are scattered, pressed into the dirt by his military grade boots. âI said quiet - !â heâs cut off by his body wrestling to his feet, the gun heâd once been holding, on the earthen floor a good few metres from him. He doesnât remember how it got there, doesnât even recall dropping it; only sees the metal tongs, coated in a maroon at the foot of the writhing vampire, swears he can hear a chain snap for just a brief moment when he attempts to get his mind out of a state of panic.
Breathe Cole. Fucking breathe, get out of your head, itâs not real; that wars over. This is the new one, focus.
But he canât. Thereâs a new sound behind him, one that isnât the vampire heâs close to finishing and the anger that constantly sits at the base of his stomach reaches the toxicity of the hostile air and all those fears of being found; or half hoping he would be come to fruition. Thereâs something behind him; someone, he knows it.
His guns on the ground. The manâs back is facing them and heâs lost to the trauma that haunts him; you canât even run now Cole. Not that he would, but even that option is gone; removed from logical thinking. What is logical thinking right now Kayson? What really is â
âYou should fuck off and mind your fucking business,â itâs the best heâs got; a deterrent to any more involvement past his target practice in the woods to whatever is at his rear. His pulse is steady, heâs always been prepared to meet a grisly end â in the Crooked world, itâs the only way a man like he is permitted to go. Heâs barely able to see through the darkness, but he knows where his gun is laid â can see it in his peripheries when he shifts his attention to it, glances only for a moment to the snarling vampire in his captivity thatâs clinging onto life as though itâs current mutilated state is still worth being in existence for. But Kayson canât help losing himself a little more to the gutter thoughts of antagonising whateverâs met him in the late hours of the forest: âOr would you like me to pull your teeth out too?â
The forest had always been beautiful in its ashen serenity. The charred trunks, scars from the war, welcomed him into their expanse and he danced his pale hands over the rough bark. The smell of smoke lingered in the very air, even though the fires had long since been extinguished and it was here that he remembered his real birth. The moment he came into himself and learned what he was truly capable of. Knelt on the ground, he touched the spot it happened, the moment he'd sent a pack of humans on each other and watched them rip each other to pieces. Even now, he could still feel their blood splashing across his skin. His horns had grown that evening- and now, some six centuries later, in his true form he was no longer humanoid but something else. What he was always meant to be. The monster with a penchant for driving someone out of their gourd just because it was fun to watch their brain turn to mush. He reveled in the swell of feeling that simmered up from the ground he caressed like a lover- and cut his tempest gaze to the north. An echoing cry made him inhale deeply. He could feel it- tickles of rage prickling across his skin. It was a siren song, pulling him up from his kneeling position. Brushing away bits of dirt, he stepped forward, careful not to disturb the fallen branches beneath his leather boots. The air grew heavier with each step, and the smell of dead man's blood tinged in his nostrils. It was not Demitri nor Willow, so whatever worry might have manifested settled back in his mind. Another wail paused him at tree that had been rebirthed since the fire, his palm coming to rest as his eyes slipped closed to pull some of the rage from the air and into himself. It was intoxicating and tasted familiar. Too familiar. Like that hunter- what was his name? It didn't matter. He had a death wish, Evan had decided the last time they met- and the closer he got, he was more tempted to ghost himself directly behind. There was something to be said about a man who appeared larger than life when he was crumpled upon the ground. Weakness only showed itself in quiet moments for most, and as Evan observed, silently, his honeysuckle lips curved into a grin. Suspicions confirmed, he decided to wait out the attack until he was so unkindly addressed. A humming tune left his lips, "Don't go out tonight, it's bound to take your life," he moved forward, sliding fingertips up Cole's spine to draw that bubbling agony and wrath out of him a little further. Lips met his ear, "there's a bad moon on the rise." He was playing with hunter fire, but he cared little for what might happen to him now. All he needed was everything that Cole could provide, even if the sight of him sent his counter into a fit of violet colored rage. He kept her at bay, stumbling back to escape whatever attack he might get in return for his intrusion. "No, baby boy, you wouldn't dare touch my teeth. After all, didn't they feel so nice on your skin?" The comment alluded to the night Kayson had with Yasmin and Valerie, "unless you forgot so quickly and in that case, perhaps you'd like a reminder."

The alcove above the main floor was where Evan spent most his time; it was meant for observation and a little bit of hunting. Tonight, there were a few more humans in the mix than he anticipated, and he spotted Demitri down near the bar- likely waiting for Valerie to make an appearance. Heâd need to wait, she was a bit tired from dealing with the hunter. Evan, on the other hand, was rejuvenated as his tempest gaze wandered the crowd to find something fun to do or torment. In the cages, the bodies heâd chosen to display writhed from the drugs he fed them to keep them complacent, and he shifted to watch them only for a moment before a touch of formerly holy reached his nose. The faded frankincense mixed with sulfur was undeniable and he zeroed in on it instantly. Adjusting his suit and fixing his gloves, he made his way to the head of the stairs to greet the newcomer as he entered the club. âHello,â he purred, âwhat brings you here?â

twistedxpromisesâ:
Tryx had been to Evanâs chambers too many times to count, so leave it to her to waltz in like she owned the place. She didnât know where heâd disappeared, but she knew heâd be back eventually. However, Tryx wasnât the most patient. Each minute she was alone, her desire and frustration grew more and more. Now she was determined to make him know what he was missing when he got back. Undressing, she moved to the bed, laying herself on display toward the entrance.Â
She hadnât fully expected to be face to face with Ederom, but it wasnât new and it certainly wasnât unwelcome. Tryx let her own facade slide away revealing her more demon figure below. Unlike them, she was still somewhat shaped like a woman. Smooth curves and runes lined her body, her skin nearly emitting lust on its own. Really, if it wasnât for the large horns that adorned her head like a crown and her coal black eyes, sheâd just look like a new woman. âEderom,â She whined, her bottom lip out in a pout, âYouâve barely paid me any mind now that youâve found shiny new partners.â Tryx started crawling toward the edge of the bed, the enochian still flowing from her lips. âDid you forget about me?âÂ
Ederom watched her shift, entrapped entirely by the shae of her skin as it changed, and the runes seemed to paint themselves as if she were a canvas- and she was. Tryxryna had taken them by storm from the moment they met, and as her lovely little pout and roll across the bed occurred, they closed the door behind with a gentle snap. They would let her pout, if only because the watery tinge to her opaque gaze gave them great pleasure. The prowess in which she worked was admirable; and they mused that she deserved a crown...or two. And while she appeared needy and vulnerable as they approached the bed, they were fully aware that she was anything but. As if that werenât the most enticing thing about her, lucifer above, the curve of her back as she arched and rolled again nearly drove them straight to their knees in worship. There was a role to be had here, however, and they would wear it well.
Slipping forward on the smoky cloud, they stopped just at the foot of the bed to observe in silence at her now still form. A clawed and dripping hand came to rest on the railing of the four poster- the carving digging into what could be called skin if it were spoken in the terms of the humans. âI would apologize,â they offered, âfor the offense I have given, Tryxryna.â They knew she was being a bit of brat and that was truly alright, as brats were far more entertaining than anything else. They crawled onto the bed like the predator they were, feasting upon the visage that spread itself across, only to stop short just at her legs.
âYou know what I like to see when I come to my chambers, sweet demon,â they purred, digging into the silken sheet expanse beneath, âand you are not in the correct position, are you?â
sinful-soulsâ:
Pia shrugged her shoulders. His kind fascinated her. She fed on some of his victims before. The ones that got overly aggressive and tried to find someone to fight. Instead she found them and they became a feast for her. âYouâre not the first to threaten me. Wonât be the last.â If Pia took every threat to heart, sheâd live alone in a cave somewhere. âDo you want to hunt together?â That was better than saying that he makes her curious. She didnât know why he did.Â
âImagine not since you make a habit of stalking people.â He retorted, glancing around the area for a moment before he caught a hidden alcove in the upcoming building. Perfect. Without missing a step, he grabbed her upper arm and drug her to the wall, shoved her out of view and pressed himself just so she couldnât duck out and away from him. Which- in hindsight was probably unnecessary- but he liked to be sure anyone showing a pique of interest in him might find themselves on the wrong end of a very short noose. He let pieces of himself fall away, so he could dig down deep into her. âHunt together?â The query lingered, while his hand wrapped around her throat, âand what the hell are you bringing to the table?â
eternallyxcrookedâ:
âThis is not a time where you tell me what to do.â He hissed at her, his eyes flickering over every inch of her body as he held her tightly in his hands. âAnd besides, I thought you liked when I grabbed you?â Demitri teased her with a chuckle, trying to lighten the mood a little. He let her lean forward and brush her lips against his. Demitri let out a hum, letting himself kiss her back even if she was only doing it to gather his wrath. The kiss ended a little too soon for his liking but he let her pull away, nonetheless. He was going to ask if she had taken enough but he chose to bite back the question as she told him to get them out of here. He nodded, let go of her briefly only to grab her hand with his and tug her in the opposite direction from where she had come. âStay behind me and try to be as quiet as possible. Do not do anything rash.â He didnât want her to get hurt again. He kept his eyes peeled and his ears alert, watching as they made their way through.Â
The promise of an escape from this disgusting maze was the only reason she didnât snap right back at him. He was right, but that wasnât the point. He knew better than to order her around. A huff left her despite it, and she resisted the urge to grab him round the neck and shove him against the wall to prove her prowess- gods they really were the same, werenât they? âMmm, donât I adore it, darling,â she returned the sentiment, a smirk slipping across her regrettably smeared lips. In her first run through, she smacked straight into something big and while she knew she could shed her skin and take it on, she hadnât wanted to, and in process it backhanded her hard enough to split the skin just below her pout. Sheâd been wiping away the blood from it since. âIâm not going to purposely put us in danger-â judging by the look she received in return, he wasnât about to feed into that lie, âfine.â She entwined their fingers and followed behind, glancing over their shoulders for anything that might be coming in behind.
eternallyxcrookedâ:
â
Freyja believed him. She knew that she probably shouldnât, and that he could be just like all of the other Demons that had hurt her, but she believed him. Evan had yet to do anything horrible to her. In fact, he was so sweet and nice and half the time she just wanted to cry because she had missed the kind attention so much. He gave her what she needed, whether he knew that or not. The trust that she felt towards him caused her to slowly move from the hard cot and scoot closer to him.Â
âSo I⊠Iâd be⊠a maid of sorts?â She asked, her voice quiet as she looked up at him. She didnât mind being a maid. It would be a luxurious life compared to the one she had in the Dominion. Everything he said was like music to her ears. Could it be true? Could she live such a normal, free, life? âBut⊠why me? Iâm just a human, Evan.â She moved closer to him, took the piece of stale bread and began nibbling on it. Safe. She wanted to be safe. âYou wonât let them hurt me?â Her voice was a low whisper, thinking of the other Demonâs that had come to have their share of her. âOr⊠make me have babies?â Her heart told her to say yes. Her whole body craved what he was talking about. A life of her own. But her mind told her to be wary.Â
âIâd call you more of a companion,â he countered, as she moved closer, and while his internal instinct screamed to pull the soul right from her throat, he kept his composure. Even offered to move closer, leaning his chin on his palm. âI want to. I need a companion and you need- well. Quite a lot of things, donât you? I never underestimate a human.â After a moment of regaining his internal composure at the vomit his tongue was spewing, he smiled and nodded, âI wonât let them hurt you, and I, for one, donât want to be raising a child. Theyâre a fucking nightmare, arenât they? So, no babies for you.â
He wanted her wrapped around his finger and worshiping the ground he walked on, so he stood. Offered a hand to help her up, and waited patiently while she decided. Thus far. his plan was going swimmingly well, and he could only hope that nothing broke the wheels heâd been carefully setting into motion. Even a single misstep on his part could throw the entirety of it off the rails. âCome on Freyja, let me save you from this.â
