“Well there’s the standard baked goods like cakes and donuts, but colder treats are delicious as well~! You can never go wrong with Crepes and brownies either. Gingerbread is a personal favorite of mine but it’s still a bit hard to find around this time of year.”

Crepes, hm? Those were a favorite of his for such a long time, ah, how long had it been since he and his wife had one of those anyway? Not since their honeymoon, as he recalls. Yes, perhaps that choice might be the best one to make.

Well, that’s unexpected. Still she doesn’t mind at all though. Always happy to help, even if it’s something as simple as recommending sweets to a stranger

Ah, was that it? It technically answered his question, so he could not say that it was not the answer he sought. Hm, though, it would be better if he knew all the options available to him.

Another lovely day at her favorite cafe, eating a small portion of whatever sweet they had as a special today. Although, an almost strange person was in here today.. And eventually even sat somewhat close to her

“Uhm, hello there~ Did you need anything?”

It was a quiet day for him. He felt he had been neglecting his wife, and wanted to get something special for her.

She had always loved cafes and sweets, so Tome decided that he should get her a sweet - though he could never pick the right treat. So, he decided he should ask.

“Ah, yes. Just a quick question.”

“Just what was it you were eating?”

Heck, he already has a will, despite not being a pro yet. “Sadly, the ones we can’t save die. But each death will be avenged, and we will save the ones we can, I swear it.”

Hearing every loss, every innocent death…it does hurt. A lot. Families are devastated, friends lose one of their own…but he will avenge them and get those villains tossed in prison. 

“How the hell am I in the wrong for wanting to bring you in? You’re the one who’s stopped everyone around us, especially in all this chaos!”

Ignoring his obvious trap and his words in French (he can’t understand it, so he’s not gonna care about), Shiko sent shadow hands towards Tome with his arm out and the flick of two fingers. 

There was no reaction from him, and there certainly didn’t appear to be any until there was a blur of movement that came from how fast he moved his arms as soon as the tentacles came close to him.

“And yet by doing this I have preserved more lives than you would have done in your state.”

Now was clearly shown how his quirk worked. The tentacles ceased all movement, all response, as soon as Tome so much as grazed them with his flesh.

“Vengeance will not change what could have been prevented if the world did not view you all as what your names connote. Calling you heroes would be a lie, considering what you yourself have stated.”

He didn’t even move forward, simply going back to how he stood before he stopped the shadows; it was almost as if he was inviting him to come closer.
