Theory/Thoughts: Trial Of The Sun Queen [Book 1]
I just needed to get this out because I'm wondering how correct I got certain things.
I am currently on Chapter 21, so those who haven't read that far and don't want spoilers, please don't venture on. I beg you. I've done it myself multiple times and spoiled things for myself with other forms of media.
Alright, there isn't much to my theory (hopefully, because when I write, I end up writing a lot without meaning to).
First and foremost, before it was revealed that the Heart queen had an artefact, I had already guessed Lor might be from the heart kingdom. I looked at the map and said yup, she might be the princess from there due to pattern recognition (whether she's the princess or not is yet to be confirmed). Celestria was too high in the sky, Tor looked really desolate, Aphelion I was confused on whether that was a kingdom or not at that point in time and I thought the woodlands was like a big forest with magical creatures. And then we get introduced to her ruby stone or whatever it is when she gets her old clothes back and that solidified it more for me. Ruby=red= heart. That was my logic lol. And then we get told the previous heart queen had a crown that incased such a stone. Lor even called it a family heirloom. Not to mention there was the first time Mr.Sus (the sun king) talked about how the heart queen wanted too much power and that almost destroyed everything.
Which brings me to Mr. Sus. I don't like him. From the moment he looked at Lor from his perch on his throne, I wanted to gouge his eyes out. It's so obvious this isn't a 'love at first sight' situation. And since Lor knows no better, being in prison and being shown kindness for the first time can do that to a person I guess, she's eating this shit up. LIKE GIRL, he told you his specialty is illusion magic. You feel a fucking pull to him that makes no sense whatsoever and you let go of some of your brain when your around him. You are not yourself! And he knows exactly who you are, when you don't even know yourself. I like that she gives herself little reality checks, but it's more towards making sure she doesn't fall for him rather than being cautious about everything he's doing (I mean she's doing that too, but it almost feels like an afterthought). Not to mention, he's going on and on about the agreement between himself and Rion due to the trials, when in the north Rion thinks she's dead and even had his son make sure she wasn't in the void. He just wants her artefact, bet.
As for the family situation, I want to believe Tristan and Willow are her real siblings, I really do. But something tells me they might not be. This is really feelings based, because the only thing that could support this is the supposed crimes they were sentenced with. They sound more like protectors rather than siblings, but I actually do hope this thought of mine is wrong. I even had to discard my first theory of Lor and the others being illegitimate children of the Aurora King because of the way Nadir and his sister talked of how he isn't the type to care. But that could also be misdirection, so it's still in the back of my head.
What else did I want to say.... I forgot. I know I originally started this post because Mr.Sus was pissing me off and I also wanted to get some of my theories down so I don't forget them. But, yeah, that's all for now. back to reading I go.
