May and I have both been having what is pretty much the shittiest year ever. So I wrote this for her.

This is short and silly and you should by no means take any of it seriously. It’s really dumb.

The Shack was unusually quiet for a Sunday afternoon. Mabel was out having some girl time with Candy and Grenda, and Soos and Wendy were off as the Shack was closed for the day.

It was unusual for the Shack to be closed at all. But sometimes even Stan needed a breather and he’d been taking a lot of them lately, disappearing for long periods of time and reappearing looking tired and drained. Dipper was in little better shape, committing all his time to the Journal and hunting the supernatural phenomena of Gravity Falls.

So with two tired-looking boys alone in the house, they had little left to do except watch television.

He's not sure if this is some elaborate prank or actual danger, but being as paranoid as he was, Dipper opted for the latter state of mind.

His heart pounded in rhythm with the footsteps nearby, breath hastening in the near-pitch black closet, a sliver of light seeping through the cracks and gaps in the planks of wood.

There isn't even a lock on Mabel and his bedroom door, much less their closet; just shaking arms bracing the door handle keeping whatever's out there-- presumably a monster of unidentifiable horror-- away from him.
