What hobbies and/or habits do we think The Hateful Eight characters would have??

Personally I think Daisy would like doodling flowers she comes across

some frontier-era hobbies for the main four!!!

• john ruth: all the characters hunt for survival, but he recreationally hunts bears, buffalo, moose, foxes, big cats. woodworking—he carves elegant wooden bowls and other functional things (and built his own cabin just like lincoln, nbd). makes very good biscuits. ex-lumberjack, knows more about trees than anybody should.

• marquis warren: kicks ass at chess and the saloon poker table. i once read a fic where he was writing a novel, and i bet he’d write really good western or mystery stories. obsessively modifies a big tattered map with notes about places he’s been. really knows his brandy.

• daisy domergue: music is her big thing (she plays banjo as well as guitar, and writes songs of her own) but i can also see her sketching and pressing flowers from her travels. she’s a mean card shark; a poker game between marquis and daisy would be terrifying. likes to dissect dead things to see what’s inside. tells one hell of a ghost story or tall tale.

• chris mannix: he picked up baseball during the civil war (soldiers on both sides played to pass the time) and is kinda into it?? he’s a really good pitcher. he also likes dancing (and happily played the female role during wartime stag dances) and has been known to knit on occasion. grew up hunting with coonhounds.
