“..Eh? Why do I need to lie down? I’m perfectly fine, Yaku-san..!” He really isn’t; he could topple over any second. Maybe practicing in the snow wasn’t a good idea when he wasn’t wearing a coat or scarf. Just a long sleeved shirt and his practice shorts. Welp; it’s his own fault now for getting sick, but he insists he’s fine.

“Really, I am! I can practice! I swear!”

Shit.

Yaku had told him to keep a close eye on Hinata whilst he ran out for a second, and really, Lev had done just that. Both of them were throwing volleyballs up in the air, spiking them. They weren’t aiming to get them over the net; they just wanted to have fun, is all. But after a while, Hinata’s spiking had slowed, and Lev had tried to get him to move faster. 

And he wish he hadn’t. Because now he feels terrible for saying so, when he should have realized that something didn’t seem right with the smaller. Like, really? Hinata, slowing his spikes down? When he’s barely breaking a sweat, yet. He should have realized sooner..

Now Lev’s eyes are wide, and he’s standing there across the room, staring at Hinata, frozen. What does he do. 

“Hinata-- Hinata?!” Now Lev’s in panic mode, hoping he could get Hinata to calm down. He slowly makes his way over to the smaller, until his pace picks up, really concerned for the smaller boy. He crouches down so he’s at his height. “H-hey now.. you’re alright, okay? Uh-- do you need anything? Maybe go somewhere quieter? We’ve been spiking so much that maybe that noise is echoing in your head..?” 

..How does he calm him down. He can’t even calm Yaku down.

“Hinata! Hinata! Look what I picked up!”

He’s running to the smaller boy, holding a bag, and skids to a stop when he finally reaches him. He bounces up and down in his spot, before digging in the bag and pulling out a small little vest. It’s white and puffy, something stylish, and Lev thought it was perfect!

“Isn’t it cute?! She’s going to love it, I know it..! Where is she anyway? Napping in her little bed we pitched in to get her?”

Note: He’s talking about a kitten the two of them picked up and started to take care of. Purrfect parents, no?

He lets the other drag him off to the sink and stick his hand under the faucet. He stared at the water just hitting his hand, it didn’t really make him uncomfortable when he felt the cool liquid on his hand.

Rummaging through some drawers and cabinets until he finds some paper towels, bringing them over to the sink. After a while, he shuts off the water and carefully dries off Yaku’s hand, trying not to irritate the burn. All the whilst he’s pouting, his cheeks puffed out.

“The answer would be yes..? Sorry, Yaku-san..”

❝Of course I noticed..!❞ Yaku glared up at the other as if he was trying to hide his embarrassment. He tends to compliment others, but he rarely compliments Lev. He thought the other deserved it especially since he can see he is indeed working hard. ❝E-eh?❞ He stared at him in shock. He felt his face heat up and he looked away. ❝Wh-why do you need to impress me? Idiot…❞ Lev was being too straight forward with him, especially with him asking him to go out with him. He didn’t even give the guy his answer.

Needless to say, he’s quite happy to hear the blond compliment him. He normally gets insulted or hit, but maybe that’s his own fault for commenting on his height so much. Maybe he’s now getting on the libero’s good side, which makes him even more happier than before. He would be smiling right now if Yaku hadn’t asked such a question. Lev hums in thought for a moment. “Well, you always seem to aim to hurt me in some way, so I figured it’s because I wasn’t practicing hard enough or you didn’t see how hard I was trying to succeed in volleyball and become the teams ace one day. You’re a great libero, Yaku-san.. and because you’re older than me, you’ve had more experience. Plus no doubt you’ve seen other peoples skills - better than my own.

“So, I just.. sort of figured I had to aim to impress you to get you to notice me or compliment me. I guess all that hard work really paid off!”

I wouldn’t have asked to go out with you if I didn’t!”
