YouTube Series Raises Questions Over Hollywood Ripping Off Digital Creators (Exclusive)

TooFab has learned one company’s plan to jump from internet to television has cast a murky cloud over how actors and writers get paid.

Dont think this has found its way to tumblr yet - sharing info as I find it. LBD fans, please read and consider sharing/letting  @berniesu (twitter) and  @edwardspoonhands​ (twitter)* know your thoughts. I know I was all set to jump on the #lbd5year hype train, but now that I know about this, the whole re-release feels horribly calculated and underhand. Which is maybe not surprising, lol, but anyway. 

Highlight:

* full disclosure: I have no idea how involved Hank is at this stage, or has been for the past few years. According to this article he still has “a stake in the show” (so…stands to make profit?) but isn’t involved in decision making. Still, worth including him in a tweet.

Lydia Bennet

One of the best things that the Lizzie Bennet Diaries did is take a minor character from Pride and Prejudice–one whose main purpose was to move the plot forward–and turn her into such a compelling character. She’s complex, charismatic, sympathetic, and relevant to our times. Her storyline deals with slut-shaming, abusive relationships, and the redeeming bond between sisters.

I’m proud and astounded by the fanbase who, five years after the show aired, are still loyal to Lydia.

Props to Mary Kate Wiles who played Lydia, and all the creators of the Lizzie Bennet Diaries. @thelbdofficial @pemberleydigital

So I re-watched the Lizzie Bennet Diaries for the third time, and I just love the story and the characters so much! This was a pretty quick do-up, and my first digital painting in a long time. I’m not super proud of it (except for Lydia, I think she looks fine), but it’s worth posting I suppose.
