Omg!! Nooo we have to go! I’ve been dying to meet his old friends and plus it gives us an excuse to go get shitfaced where the bartenders won’t call us by name
logan-mcaden:
“Look, I don’t need your judgment or for you to kill my high. So you can either join me or just go.”
Lydia huffed and pouted at him at first before letting her bag drop the the floor and flopping herself into a chair. “I’m not here to kill your vibe. Or whatever.” She replied, twisting a strand of hair around her finger. “I just wanted some company.”
“The cold? What’re you trying to freeze them out?” Christian asked without amusement in return to the words, glancing around getting a lay of the land around him. “Sure fine, I’ll wait,” Christian nodded. “Does he need to see a nurse when he wakes up?”
Lydia just shut her mouth when her joke didn’t land, nodding when he said he’d wait and going back to the computer. Her gaze returned back to him when he asked a question, nodding in response at first. “Yes, his RN will come in and get him, I’ll notate that you’re waiting for him so she’ll get the alert. Her name is...” She trailed off as she pulled up the chart again, twisting her mouth off to the side. “Robyn. His regular is out on vacation until Sunday.”
Christian peered up from his phone when he heard the voice answering him, opting to slip his cell phone into his breast pocket to give the girl his gaze. “He’s an early riser,” Christian nodded. His father always had been, but truth be told, he hadn’t the slightest clue if he still was, or how the cancer treatments were effecting him. “He’s my father, born January fourteenth.”
“Don’t have many of those around here. It’s the cold.” She stated lightly, an attempt to make the situation a little more cheery. Lydia typed in the information as he gave it to her, humming a bit as the computer took its sweet time finding the patients. “He is, still in bed, but he does have a wake time here in the next fifteen if you’d like to wait?” She offered, turning her attention back to the man in front of her.
christian-speith:
Christian didn’t make a habit of these types of quick, unannounced visits to the hospital, but with an hour or so between meetings right in the same part of town, he’d had felt far too guilty not stopping by. He’d made a pit stop by the coffee shop across the street, a coffee for himself, a muffin for his father. “George Speith– is he in his room?” Christian asked, presumably to the woman at the front desk, through he was on auto-pilot with his head buried in his phone.
Lydia was at the end of her night shift, hair falling out from the pristine braid it had started in at the beginning of the night, face a little flustered from all the mishaps of just trying to keep people alive, and her eyebrows knitted together in a permanent tension headache. Still, she put on a smile and turned her attention to the man in front of her, a little peeved he was on his phone, but knowing how hard it is to have a loved one in the hospital. “Uhm, he should be, wake up call isn’t for another ten minutes, but I’ll look. May I ask your relation and his date of birth?”

jack-bingham:
The warm weather had seemed to come out of nowhere and with the heat meant work for Jack. The old apartment building was too cheap for central air which meant installing air conditioner units for the tenants. He was outside, sealing off the window when a screwdriver slipped from his sweaty hands. Having not secured the unit yet he couldn’t let go and was thankful, and embarrassed by calling for their help. “Excuse me?” He spoke up. “Would you mind giving me a hand,” he nodded down to the fallen tool.
The weather brought out the best of Lydia. All sunshine and smiles, she truly was a sunflower. Or a venus fly trap, but it isn’t the time to get to introspective on that. Work had ended and she was out getting some fresh air, meeting her fathers dealers to make sure they had what they needed. Her eyes fell on the man on the ladder, bottom lip tucking between her teeth as she eyed him. “Yeah, of course!” She beamed, kneeling down to pick up the screw driver, stepping on her tip toes to hand it to him. “Need anything else?”
nikopetran:
Holding the folder in his hand, Niko sat down at the nearest chair, not quite opening it up just yet — preferring to hear more of the details first. “Okay so, what am I supposed to be looking at here?”
Lydia was stirring their tea, watching him out of the corner of her eye. “Exactly what it looks like. I wanted to get you caught up since you’ve been gone; keep you in the loop.” She sighed, walking over and setting the mug down on the table next to him before taking her own seat. She didn’t expect him to drink it by any means, but it was polite to offer.
“Yikes, that why I wouldn’t last. I’d call her out on it but you don’t see the worst of it until you start interacting with the richey rich mom’s who swear up and down that their teenage daughter and they get mixed up all the time. Like no. Anyone who isn’t blind would be able to tell you apart. “ She pouted already feeling sorry for herself. “It’s just boring but it’s one of the GE classes so I have to take it.”
Lydia took another shot as Sam spoke, rolling her eyes a bit at the thought. “See, I hate that, but also like my mom does that sometimes...” She laughed, shaking her head a bit. “So I feel bad shitting on that type of behavior but like... My mom is actually cool and I doubt they are sooooooo... Sucks.” She shrugged, sliding a shot over to her friend, nodding ab it. “That is so unfortunate. Also most of those classes are bullshit anyway. It’s literally a waste of time.”
Melanie rolled her eyes but continued the game, determined now more than ever. She drank down the next cup of beer and flipped her cup after the second try, moving onto the next one with a laugh. It was a mere second that she flipped her last cup before their opponent, letting out a victorious cheer. “Yes!” Melanie laughed as she shook her head, flicking her hair back before looking over at the girl she had been partnered to drink. “And you had your doubts, what a horrible partner.”
Lydia watched intently, bounding on her toes a bit as she watched Melanie drink with a new found confidence and possible annoyance powering her, cheering with her when they actually won. “Oh my god!” She laughed, giving a shrug and pouting out her bottom lip. “I’m sorry, I can’t help it, I drink like it’s my job and forget not everyone else does! If I get you some food and water to keep you from dying will you forgive me?” She offered, knowing just how rough these chug games could be.
melanie-kent:
“Stop rushing me! I haven’t done this since college,” Melanie said as she flipped one of the cups and then picked the next one up to drink. How she ended up at a party was beyond her, call it a blind agreement to get into a car with a friend, but she was willing to make the most of it while she was here. “Were there always this many cups?”
Lydia tossed her head back and laughed, adjusting the backwards cap on her head and beaming over at Melanie. “Yes! And like, not to put any pressure on you, you’re a rock star, but you’re kinda fucking me right now.” She explained, watching everyone else drink faster and add their cups to their row.
