willa fitzgerald doing absolutely nothing and still looking like a goddess (◕‿◕✿)
ninasalden:
“fuck oxygen.” nina repeated, bursting into laughter. saying the ‘f’ word in a church seemed a little sinful, but given the current circumstances she was sure the good lord would give her a break. “sssh, its okay he can’t hear you over all the praying.” she assured lydia with a smirk. when lydia said she was her soulmate, nina perked up, her smile stretching from cheek to cheek, “aw, lyds…” she gushed, snuggling into the other girl. “we are so in love.” she concluded. “a true match.”
it was hard to hold back laughter at this point, which to anyone else would have probably come across as rude and untimely but lydia didn’t really care. it was comforting her. lydia smiled too, when nina did. it was true, she was one of few things that kept lydia sane in this town anymore. the blonde leaned her head back and closed her eyes. “let’s just take a nap until this whole thing is over.”
andreromanos:
“of course i am. have you met me? i think a little too much about everything.” he rolled his eyes. this wasn’t news to andre. he’d been that way since he was a kid, always worrying and overthinking the littlest thing. maybe that was why he always felt that he had to have a sense of control over a situation. and in situations like these, with brandon, where he didn’t have control, it was difficult for him to know what to do. “you’re probably right.” he sighed. “i’ll ask him tomorrow. we’ve got a date, so.” andre shrugged. “you sure there’s no one in your life? at all?”
she laughed, “yeah i’ve definitely met you so i know you are. that’s...sweet in a way though. like you care.” she told him. she understood overthinking far too well, and knew not everyone was good at trying to push it aside, especially after what he had been through in the past year. “see, your’e going on a date and everything. you’re definitely overthinking it.” she reassured him. lydia looked down for a moment. hearing someone say out loud that there didn’t seem to be anyone in her life at all was slightly depressing. she shrugged, “i don’t know. i’m just...focusing on myself right now.” she said, giving the cop-out answer. “nina is the only one who’s been in my bed in months.” she joked.
ninasalden:
nina recognized a few people in the church from the shop she worked at, which truthfully, could not be more different than their current location. she wondered if god knew that they were two-timing him by getting their palms read and voodoo dolls made. the thought alone made her laugh. she’d never put much stock into religion, and this encounter only confirmed that even more. “i texted with her, she’s okay. her boyfriend’s over at the house, so she’s going to be just fine. i actually kind of like the guy this time, his name’s jack.” she explained, shrugging. “weed is perfectly natural. if god didn’t want us to enjoy it, he wouldn’t have put it on this earth. same with chocolate and bad mtv reality shows.” nina promised, speaking in a prophetic sort of tone. “tell you what: if you make it through this, we’ll go home and get high, and we’ll bake whatever kinds of desserts you want all night long. sound like a plan?”
“that’s good.” she said, thinking about her own parents this time around. she didn’t wonder if they were okay, more so she wondered if they would wonder if she was okay. they wouldn’t call each other, they would just assume and avoid talking. that alone brought up thoughts and emotions lydia didn’t have the capacity to think about right now so she pushed it away. nina’s next sentence made lydia smile hard. “weed, chocolate, and mtv reality shows are literally the only things i need. fuck oxygen.” she said before laughed. “i just said fuck in a church. i hate myself.” she couldn’t escape a small fit of giggled now. “this is why i think you’re my literal soulmate.”
andreromanos:
andre pondered over everything that lydia was suggesting. in the back of his mind, he knew that she was probably right about it all. he wondered what would’ve happened if they’d had that type of talk while they were together. he was alright that they didn’t, though, because then he wouldn’t have his current romance, and he wouldn’t have gained this newfound friendship with her. “i don’t want it to turn into nothing.” he huffed in defeat, looking down at his feet before back up. “i’ve told him how i feel. what am i supposed to say to him?” he asked, genuinely seeking the right words. andre had never been good with them in the slightest.
lydia smiled, she always thought about how much older andre was than her but more than that, how much older he seemed. despite being 21, she still thought of herself as a child most of the time and he seemed so aged. in this moment though, the vulnerability shined through and made him appear like a kid himself. she didn’t mind seeing this side of him. “i think you might be thinking about it a little too much.” she started. “i, by no means, should be giving relationship advice so if things end up terrible, you are not allowed to blame me for it but...just ask him. don’t beat around the bush about it. sit down with him and ask if you’re together, like 100% not 90%. if he says no, ask him if he wants to be. don’t leave it until you are.”
andreromanos:
andre wondered why brandon hadn’t said anything to her. maybe andre was thinking too far into it and trying to label something that wasn’t there in the first place. that was worst case scenario, of course, but with andre’s track record of romance he couldn’t help but immediately think of the worst. “i mean, we do a lot of not talking.” andre told her. he used to not talk a lot with lydia. “but, i mean, he’s aware of how i feel. i occasionally see glimpses of how he feels when he’s not trying to be all defensive with his sarcastic remarks. plus, neither of us are with anyone else, so…” andre drifted off, shrugging his shoulders. “i just don’t wanna scare him off with the whole ‘what are we’ talk, y’know? god, i sound like a teenage girl.” he groaned. “i’d just rather keep things the way they are. i’m happy in my blissful ignorance.”
lydia nodded her head, following along. he did sound like a teenage girl and she was honestly enjoying it. she leaned back and took another sip from the bottle in her hand. “if he’s getting defensive, i would say that’s a good thing because that means there’s something to get defensive about.” she said with a shrug. “isn’t that how it always goes though? it’s how it went with us. we liked it exactly the way it was, never talked about anything until it turned into nothing.” she said. “i’m not trying to say our situation was anything like this but if you really care about him, you shouldn’t let the same thing happen with brandon. plus he acts like a teenage girl 95% of the time too so i’m sure he wouldn’t mind a little ‘what are we’ talk.” she tried to give him a reassuring smile.
ninasalden:
“i know.” nina sighed softly, continuing to run her fingers through lydia’s hair. for once, nina wished she was at her own home. mel was afraid of storms and her mother always became so unpredictable in situations like this. she wished she could be home to mediate everything and make sure they were safe. maybe if she prayed hard enough god would show a little mercy and let the storm pass. nina wasn’t so sure that was possible, though, even if she was in a church. “one of them must have been a hell of a sinner to get this storm in return, huh?” nina joked, laughter leaving her lips. she was happy to find a little joy in a shitty situation. “i’m sure it won’t last much longer, anyways. we’ll be fine.”
lydia closed her eyes for a minute, enjoying just having someone there to run their fingers through her hair. nine knew it would comfort her. lydia looked around at the mostly familiar faces, some of whom she would have avoided given the chance and agreed with the girl next to her. “do you have reception? can you call your mom?” she asked, knowing it would be something nina would think about at a time like this. lydia laughed after thinking to herself for a minute. “do you think it’s sinful to wish i was high right now?”
natedesai:
“You got it.” Nathan nodded his head along to her words and took the time to lean against the bar so they could talk. “Honestly? Just working. That makes me sound like a complete loser but hey, it is what it is.” Shoulders rise and fall in a casual shrug. “I don’t get to do much shit anymore. What about you? Been up to anything wild lately?” A crooked grin plasters onto his features as he questions the blonde.
Lydia laughed, “Same. When did we get so adult?” she asked, rhetorically. It seemed like these days it was all work and school and nothing else. “Hey, that doesn’t make you a loser. I bet you’re making bank and not blowing your money on stupid stuff which is smart.” she said with a smile. “Oh yeah, you know me. Ms. Wild.” she said sarcastically. “I think at this point the most edgy thing I do is smoking inside my apartment instead of going outside.”
wtfemilia:
emilia had the day off and it was the perfect time to tackle her ever-growing pile of books. she hadn’t had much time to read lately due to being at the dance studio every night and she was looking forward to getting lost in the stories of fictional characters. at first, she tried to ignore the clicking noise but it only seemed to grow louder and more consistent as the seconds ticked past to the point where it was all the brunette could focus on. glancing around the small cafe, her eyes landed on a blonde girl who looked to be playing some kind of game. the brunette didn’t realize she had been glaring until the girl made eye contact and uttered an apology. “just a little bit…” she replied, her tone a little more clipped then she would’ve liked it to be. “sorry, it’s just my first day off in a while. i shouldn’t have snapped at you,” the brunette murmured sheepishly. she wasn’t one to snap often, but when she did she always felt guilty for it.
lydia blushed slightly out of embarrassment. she really was in her own world and didn’t think anyone would be paying attention. “no, it’s totally fine. i get it. it’s so obnoxious, i really am sorry.” she said, being completely honest. “i think it’s the time of year too, it’s got everyone on edge.” she said, knowing herself, lydia was going crazy with finals and he job.
andreromanos:
“it’s complicated.” andre said, shrugging his shoulders. often at times, he didn’t understand the dynamic of their relationship. “i’ve had…” andre drifted off, trying to find the right word. he just ended up cringing a bit. “feelings for brandon for a while.” “i thought they would go away once he stopped working for me, then he and i just fought a lot, and now i think we’re together.” he spoke, nodding his head. “90% sure.”
lydia couldn’t help the big smile from forming on her face when he admitted his feelings. she knew both of the men had been through enough troubling times in their lives, that this was something they both deserved, to be happy with someone. “wow.” she commented. “i’m seriously going to kill him for not telling me any of this.” “what do you mean you think? did you not talk about it?”
andreromanos:
“you’re right.” andre spoke, sighing, when she said that sex was empty. it was true. however, empty had been all andre had really been able to feel since he called off his wedding years ago. it was only recently that he became vulnerable to feeling again, and with that came all new territory. andre was very aware of the relationship that brandon and lydia shared. for the sake of keeping honest, open communication that he had with lydia, andre wasn’t going to with hold anything from her. “brandon reznik.” he spoke, his voice flat, only adding the last name so that there was no confusion as to who these romantic feelings were directed towards.
his answer caught her off guard, definitely. brandon and lydia generally told each other everything so the fact that this was so off her radar shocked her. “seriously? he never told me a thing.” she said, making a mental note to bother her friend about it later. “so what does ‘sort of’ mean? do you like each other?” she asked, again careful not to ask the wrong thing or ask too much but definitely wanting to know about the situation.
ninasalden:
lydia was definitely more frightened than nina was. it was probably good that way, since at least one of them could comfort the other. “we’re gonna be fine.” nina assured lydia, sitting down in one of the pews. she ran her hands through lydia’s curls soothingly, looking around at everyone else trapped in the church. “kinda funny all these people at a church in the middle of the week, huh? what do you think they were doing?” nina whispered, poking fun.
lydia leaned her head on her friend’s shoulder and closed her eyes. “i just wish we were home so i could just hide under my covers until this is over” she said honestly. she wasn’t that bad but the entire situation definitely just made lydia feel nervous. she looked around as nina spoke, and honestly it just made it worse. the glass windows, the huge pillars. lydia was just thinking of the things that could go wrong, “i guess it’s ironic.” she commented. “who ever knows, praying for something good to happen i guess.”
andreromanos:
andre chuckled when lydia did. he was genuinely surprised. lydia was a catch. she had a great personality, quick wit, and she was amazing in bed. andre probably would’ve stayed with her if either of them had the emotional capacity to be committed to one another. oh well, perhaps in another life. “complicated is right.” andre scoffed, taking another drink of coffee. he probably shouldn’t have been having it that late, especially if he was trying to mend his sleeping schedule, but that was an internal argument for another time. when she asked if he was seeing anyone, andre shuffled his feet a moment, thinking it over before speaking. “sort of.” he explained. “like you said, it’s complicated.” “i feel like things were less complicated when we were just having sex. that was really simple, wasn’t it? mutually beneficial and everything. now i’m expected to, you know, be cordial about it all. breakfast in the morning, remembering important dates. it’s all very trivial, isn’t it?” that was love, andre supposed. not like he would know anything about that, though.
lydia sighed briefly, wondering for a moment if it was ever not complicated for anyone. she perked up when he admitted there was someone, it was her need to be nosey that had her that way. “well yeah it’s always easier but you get what you give. just having sex is so...empty. you do some stupid trivial stuff sometimes to get..you know, someone to love you and all that shit.” she said, feeling like she was rambling. she was quiet for a moment before a wicked smile graced her face “so who is it?” she asked, knowing she would probably know unless it was someone outside of wilson.
natedesai:
“Okay, same. Well, minus the bra thing but you get the point.” Nathan waves off his own comment with a wave of his hand followed by a smirk. “You got it, my lady.” The boy smirks and moves along the bar to mix her drink. He’ll finish up and slide it across the counter to her. “Jack and coke. Need anything else, Lydia?” A curious brow arches upward in question. “I swear I haven’t seen you in forever.”
Lydia smiled, catching the glass in her hands as he pushed it along the bar. “Thank you, sir.” She shook her head, “only a refill when I finish this one.” she answered. Taking a sip, she nodded in agreement. “Same. I feel like I’ve been way too busy lately.” That and she rarely had the motivation to go out and be social anymore. “What have you been up to?”
