Kerry discusses something relevant in my life recently. Non vegans calling vegan people narcissists. Interestingly the grounds for calling vegan narcissists directly implies how much you are obsessed with yourself. People have many reasons they say they don't want to go vegan, but this is the saddest, some how veganism has been sold as some elitist cold-pressed, goji berry flavoured lifestyle. It ain't. Its just the most natural, healthy, simple, ethical diet.
how to have an interesting facebook dash
1. As soon as any of your friends post annoying shit unfollow them, easy way to know if its annoying shit: if the link is from Total Sorority Move, Elite Daily, or other similar sites.
2. Any corporation you've innocently "liked" on facebook (ie Oreos, Cocacola) unlike that shit because you are willingly putting advertisements on your page.
3. Start following people who post amazing stuff, namely Graham Hancock, Vegan Sidekick, Brain pickings.
Follow all these steps and facebook might actually make you smarter??$$?$?$?
This is the new song and video I did for animal rights, its called Last Right. I'm trying to make music that could perpetuate some sort of change, weather it does or not at least I feel like I'm not just sitting vacantly while animals are suffering.
If you would like to download it you can do that here
If we are producing so many college educated geniuses, do you think we would be the most unhealthy nation of people in developed nations? Do you think that we would be gobbling down junk food? Do you think that we would be prescription drug addicts? Do you think that we would be in the greatest recession, heading towards the greatest depression? Do you think we would be in Iraq wasting trillions of dollars fighting losing wars in Afganistan and now Pakistan? Do you think that we would have presidents and legislators of such low mentality, as we have now? Do you think that we would have the rampant greed like the white shoed boys on wallstreet, if the universities were turning out anything of quality? Considering the trillions that are spent and the millions that are educated.
What am I suppose to think?
Yesterday while waiting on the platform of the metro on my way home I saw something that really frightened me. Things that made me feel sick to my stomach, and chilled me with visions of ominous consequences. They were advertisements, two ads side by side on the opposite platform, on large tele-screens, brightly projecting their messages at me.
One ad pictured a hypnotizing animation of fruit swirling around and around a glass of cows milk. At first the images made me happy because they were colourful, but my mood harshly dropped when I realized what the ad was for. My beloved fruit was being tainted by the torture, rape, and suffering of another being. As the fruit swirled around the glass of baby cow growth fluid it gradually changed colour to signify the strawberries blending with it to create some horrible pink concoction that only reminded me of the blood that every glass of milk contains. Then new things swirled around the milk, pastries and cookies, then breakfast items like eggs and coffee. The image was infiltrating peoples minds into thinking that milk, the milk from another species filled with growth hormones and antibiotics, was an essential accompaniment to these foods, as in "Can't have fruit without milk!" or "Can't have dessert without milk!" or "Can't start the day without milk!". Rape, consume, and repeat, if you get sick they've got pills for that too, because the cancer industry is a business, and you are a potential client.
The next ad, which drew my eye because of its pastel pink colour scheme and cute lettering, was situational irony at its best. It was an ad for Alesse, an artificial hormone pill given to women to prevent pregnancy. Both of the products in the advertisements were chocked full of hormones that should never enter the human body. The pill-like oval blue pfizer logo on the corner was displayed like some point of pride, I saw it as the pseudonym for Monsanto, a supervillan like no other, because this one actually exists outside of comic books in the real world. With its slimy fingers reaching far into the FDA, they can pass food products and medications without adequate safety testing. Birth control, the friendly pink companion of many women and girls today doubles the chance of blood clots, and increases your risk of getting breast cancer, though none of this information is really offered when you are trying to get these pills, doctors just want you to remember to take them everyday, don't forget! Most people believe that other than physical contraceptive the pill and other artificial hormone treatments are the only way to prevent pregnancy, which is simply not true! The Fertility Awareness method is the badass, non chemical, super empowering way to prevent pregnancy, millions of women do it, and all you need is a thermometer and a good understanding of cervical fluid.
Though I was bombarded with these messages they only stood to strengthen my belief and passion for spreading bullshit awareness by empowering people with information. The world is a fickle place for this vegan girl but it will never stop me, I will share what I learn with the people that I love.

Cowspiracy Review
You haven't heard about this movie yet, you are probably about to, as the title suggests its a sensational movie about the truth behind animal agriculture and environmentalism. Here is the vegan review, so yes the movie is preaching to the choir in my case.
***** 5 stars!! 10/10!! Loved it every way you could possibly quantify it. It was relatable, innately human, and eye opening without being to jarring. If one were to compare this to Earthlings the difference is very clear, there is not as much hidden camera content or gruesome scenes. This movie is made for the average environmentalist who is probably unwilling to take militant action but is conscious about their actions.
In the film Kip Andersen calls himself an OCE (obsessive compulsive environmentalist) who rides his bike every where, takes short showers and changes his light bulbs but when he finds out that animal agriculture contributes to global warming and resources depletion more than another industry including transportation, Kip wonders why the beloved environmental organizations he supported didn't say a word about it on their websites or newsletters. The truth he find is much more diabolical than expected, just a clue, it includes assassination.
To provide another point of view I read Beef Magazines article about the film which discredits the film without actually having watched it, stating that 1 pound of beef actually takes 441 gals of water, not the 660 gallons for a hamburger the film states. Then it shows a little comparison infographic about how a cotton shirt takes 713 gallons of water to produce, and a car 39,090 gallons of water to produce. I wasn't sure how relevant the comparison was because its not like you are buying a new car or shirt everyday, or even twice a day, but I wanted to check their sources just in case. Obviously it was a blog that had no actual sources, other info that can be found is that GMO's are not harmful in anyway and growth hormones don't cause cancer. Its hilarious how these people still try, even after they are basically the indisputable villains of climate change. Even if their facts were reliable, the truth is methane is the most harmful green house gas (82% more harmful than CO2) so water usage isn't even a very pertinent issue.
I got to meet the filmmaker at a showing in Montreal, he answered all questions poignantly and simply, as an vegan he's doing more than his duty to raise awareness. As someone put it this movie "is doing what blackfish is doing to sea world" and I stand behind it 100%, this should really shake the foundation of a lot of people, and I hope it becomes extremely well known. Good luck Kip!

1. Cognitive Dissonance
This post written by a vegan about the constant, perpetual cognitive dissonance that we currently live in. Cognitive dissonance means a disconnect between what you believe in and what you practice, what this does to the human psyche one can only assume bad, very very bad things.
2. Real talk from a girl about her asexuality and how she feels being cat-called
The internet is the largest human archive ever to exist, and its like a perpetual interview with everyone who decides to put themselves on it. I am a huge lover of vloggers for this reason, it is (usually) just uncencored, unaltered human experience. I just found this channel and I was already digging it even before I found out she was VEGAN! Antastesia, the lovely blue haired female in these videos is unafraid to speak frankly about her "asexuality" and in a world that is ruled by sex, and the line "sex sells" seems to justify every objectification, I respect her immensely for being as open as she is. This kind of dialogue is essential to create a more empathetic, open minded society. The second video is one that was filmed after a slightly traumatic day of cat calling, and everything she says in the video I feel like I have experienced before. Especially that feeling of being "dirty" after being put in a compromising situation. Now I feel like I am desensitized to sex really, maybe because of the media, or my own experience, but that sort of jarring feeling of being overwhelmingly uncomfortable still happens once in a while. All I can say is
3. Baby and mother cow reunited
This brought a little tear to my eye, although I probably would have bawled if I wasn't in a public place. Animals experience emotion, I've never doubted it, and I never will.

My Favourite Bag (is Vegan)
It's hard to find a favorite bag. Especially since every bag you buy at Aldo or H&M falls apart about 2 months into using it. This may be my own fault, I really push the limits of a bag. Because to me a bag is more than just a holder-of-shit. It must fit my whole life, it has to match my style, reflect my personality, hold everything I might need in a day. That might be a lot to ask of an inanimate object...
This bag made by MATT & NAT delivers. Here's some info
MATT & NAT stands for MAT(T)ERIAL + NATURE.
M&N is a vegan brand therefore there are no animal products used in production.
The linings inside all MATT & NAT bags are made out of 100% recycled plastic bottles.
In addition to being vegan, sustainable materials are constantly sourced in design such as cork.
The head office in Montreal, Canada is a ‘cruelty free’ zone. On the last Friday of every month the staff holds a vegetarian potluck at which time employee birthdays are also celebrated with vegan cupcakes!
It doesn't get much better than that.
The disposability of everything you purchase should be one your mind when you're at the counter forking over your cash. Not just how you'll look tomorrow at school. It is my humble opinion that a bag, which is essential for daily life, should be an investment. Not a fucking 5,000 dollar investment, but a substantial amount of money to ensure quality. Matt and Nat are based in Montreal so if I have any problems with my bag the store can send it back to the head office to have it fixed! But nothing has even come close to breaking, and I use the hell out of this bag. Literally shoving textbooks and laptops and water bottles to no end. I've had it for 2 years now, this baby has stayed strong.

Proof of conscious connectivity amongst organisms?
Something that gives some evidence on how animal suffering effects our collective consciousness is something that Rupert Sheldrake speaks about in his book “The Science Delusion” wherein he recalls a fact that when a new crystal is created in a laboratory the first time it is created it takes the most time but then the subsequent crystals start to form easier and easier. This is proof of some sort of radio connectivity in inanimate matter. In this most primitive form of “consciousness” a crystalline structure of atoms, one must come to the conclusion that sentient consciousness, and human consciousness, arguably the most advanced form of consciousness (I don’t agree with that), should have some sort of connectivity. Maybe consciousness actually begins with us being the most primitive form, because we are the least connected amongst all forms. Ants, fish, crystal formations, all appear to be vastly more connected than human beings. Here we are living in our separate houses, our separate lives, separate thoughts, and look at all of the chaos we find ourselves in. Its no wonder we are here, the total lack of empathy is so obviously the cause. Its not even debatable, or an oversimplification. I often try not to mention my veganism in posts like this because I don’t want to seem like I am high five-ing myself over and over again, but these facts are simply facts, unaffected by my relationship to them. Vegans are more empathetic, probably some of the most empathetic people you could find in the world these days. We subject ourself to endless ridicule, temptation, sadness, as the people around us toil with the only earth we are all able to live on. Together, as a human collectivity, we have the power to achieve anything, as science shows, our constant technological advancements, and so on. But no one is going to force you, not at least at this minute, to do anything about what you see is going on. Veganism was that first nudge into rethinking my old way of life, consumerism, materialism, vanity all led to me just being really sad most of the time. Currently I’m trying to live my life with purpose and thats brought me more happiness than I have ever felt.
Veganism without caring about animals?
FEMALE POWER IN THE WORK FORCE
Though this may not be true across the board; women are more spiritual, and connected to emotions than men, who are mentally tortured into a competitive, unemotional, and violent state. Only those who are truly in tune to the duality of a soul, with sides that can me labeled male and female, can achieve a higher understanding. Only recently have I understood this aspect of life, before I feel like I was quite oppressed, by myself! Like for instance in art history, whatever tiny factoid that was taught in elementary art classes, all the artists under discussion were male. Michael Angelo, Picasso, Matisse, Grant Wood, Bill Reid, they were great masters of beautiful art, but somehow knowing they were men limited my belief in my own capabilities. There is no one person to blame for this broken ego phenomena, and I think it is so prevalent today still even after all of humanities apparent leaps and bounds towards equality.
Like the rouse of female empowerment in the work force, for the breaking down of human consciousness. While corporations can brag about the modern "progressiveness" of their workplace, they can take away rights generally available as whole. Women's rights at work only really benefit corporations, basically another way to exploit women. Now that we've got them objectified physically and sexually, why not exploit them intellectually too! I'm not saying every job is exploitative, but I'm saying most of them are definitely dumbing us down, making us perform mindless tasks and willingly enterprise against other human beings.
Kerry McCarpet one of my favourite female intellectuals (yes I'm allowed to make that distinction in this post!) recently made a video about how to wear a bikini in public if you are fat: spoiler alert, you put it on and then go outside because life is to short to give a fuck about what people think! In it she creates an interesting thought experiment by conjuring up a world in which middle aged men are objectified like 18 year old women are now. Men would be dying their hair grey once a month, and covering up youthful bodies at the beach to detour embarrassment and what not. While the woman would rise to the top of the work force because we wouldn't need to fret about our appearance, because we were no longer the archetype in question. Oh how glorious a world would be with men ENSLAVED! This is a prime example of female empowerment hiding human disempowerment. This strange world would still be in the sticky situation we are in now, because it has nothing to do with single gender empowerment. It has everything to do with empathy, unity, consciousness... Most importantly we need to stop making distinctions between ourselves like "This group should do this. This group shouldn't do that!" because as you can see that has gotten us nowhere.

Activists in Germany protesting the federal reserve, and the fucked up system we are living in. Recently they were attacked, mostly likely by the government, by blowing up a car. The police wont investigate. Absolute insanity
