2x3 on my mind this week again

(unorganized rambling under the cut)

2x3 feels very push and pull

will they won’t they

very Complicated slow burn that eventually has a happy ending after 5 billion years of unrequited pining -> clueless mutual pining

There’s a lot of 2 sides of the same coin going on with them I think

Both of them having severe trust issues and concealing them by putting on different masks

Henry trying to fit into that big, strong engine label by mirroring Gordon (even James) — he just comes off as jerk, one who can’t even function properly

Edward allowing others to put him on a pedestal and emotionally distancing himself in the process (whether this is on purpose or not is debatable, maybe it’s both)

Henry is desperate for some sense of control over his life while Edward allows others to view him as whatever they see fit (both lead to them isolating themselves oops)

Henry defaults to being overly pessimistic, even when everything is in his favor — while Edward sugarcoats things so often that he struggles to be honest with himself

I think Henry would fall first, but Edward falls harder

I just really love how they balance each other out <3 Edward & Henry are vastly different yet they could understand each other so well.

One gets so much praise and adoration while the other had to claw his way there

One can speak his mind without a filter while the other locks his true thoughts away

Their love is really just “Oh you get me” LOL this is also how they can hurt each other

Series #1 I neither of them had feelings or were even close friends yet but I do think Edward was endeared to Henry, and Henry appreciated Edward’s kindness deep down (even if he thought it was out of pity)

I think what sets their dynamic apart is that both of them could sense that the other was being disingenuous of how they presented themselves

Both could tell there was more to each other. Deeper struggles, deeper vulnerabilities that neither of them could confront themselves

It hits different when the people making the bad decisions all have their full frontal lobes
