Robb  leans  casually  against  the  counter,  scrolling  through  his  phone  until  a  report  on  the  small  television  in  the  corner  catches  his  attention.  A  news  anchor  details  the  sudden  fall  of  one  of  those  famous  families  who  always  smile  with  excessive  enthusiasm  on  the  magazine  covers.  Their  carefully  polished  image  has  cracked  wide  open  under  the  weight  of  scandal  with  the  reveal  that  while  they  projected  a  flawless,  picture-perfect  life  to  the  public,  behind  closed  doors  they  were  drowning  in  debts,  hiding  failures  and  conflict  that  now  make  every  staged  viral  social  media  post  an  obvious  lie.

And  even  though  he  had  never  been  one  for  gossip,  at  least  not  with  something  so  trivial  and  contrived,  the  Stark  can't  resist  making  his  own  observation  on  the  topic.  One  that  seems  almost  instinctive  given  everything  he  has  heard  ❝  Truth  comes  out,  ❞  he  says  after  a  brief  silence,  his  gaze  still  fixed  on  all  the  images  flashing  across  the  screen  ❝  in  the  end  it  always  comes  out.  ❞  It  was  no  surprise  to  him  either  how  quickly  everything  could  change  from  day  to  night.  With  so  many  cameras  on  you,  the  idea  of  someone  being  able  to  maintain  an  illusion  forever  seemed  even  more  absurd.

Shaking  his  head,  he  finally  looks  at  her  ❝  I'll  never  understand  why  people  bother  pretending  so  much  ❞  he  then  adds,  a  quiet  edge  of  disdain  in  his  tone.  There's  something  exhausting  about  watching  the  world  pretend  to  be  something  it  isn't  and  yet  it  happened  all  the  time.  Facades  created  distance,  making  every  interaction  feel  fragile  since  one  wrong  move  could  unravel  everything.  He  had  little  patience  for  all  that.  Honesty,  even  when  uncomfortable,  felt  simpler,  cleaner.  It  demanded  courage,  yes,  but  that  was  precisely  why  he  respected  it  above  all  else.

I used to think that because the first seasons of GoT were good and Robb was killed in the third one, the show didn't have time to ruin him like it did the rest of the characters, but the more I think about it the more I realize how wrong I was.

In fact, I'm probably making a show vs. book post since it can also help people not so familiar with the fandom/source understand Robb and his story a slightly better.
