I have always been very calculated with every decision I’ve made in my life. I have to be, I have this “gift” as you would call it. Every third decision I make ends really amazing. Unfortunately, my first and second decisions ends horribly.
On one particular morning I woke up and everything was normal. I made my first and second decisions simple decisions that would not effect my overall life. I decided between pop tarts or cereal. I ended up choosing pop tarts, and of course I ended up choking on a bite of my food and couldn’t find a drink. My next decision was between taking an Uber or a bus to work. I decided to take a bus, and it goes without saying, there was a delay on the bus schedule. Consequently, I was late for work. My third decision was between spending time with the love of my life, Leslie, or my family. Leslie has always been the light of my life, my saving grace. But my family will always have my back no matter what the circumstances. But in the end I decided on Leslie.
“How could this have happened?”, I asked myself. I was certain that I had made exactly two decisions before choosing between Leslie and my family. Why did this end so horribly? My family had been murdered after a criminal had escaped from prison and broke into their house. And my wonderful Leslie, she was in a terrible accident at work that caused her to be in a coma.
I retraced every decision I made that day; I couldn’t find the mistake. I knew for a fact I calculated everything just perfectly. Then it hit me, I decided to wake up this morning; that was my first decision. My first decision caused my girlfriend and family pain.
