Oh, I do not like to be perceived, but I love to be praised.
This is not a start of a poetry, but it'd be bangers if it was.

Madara is such a fascinating character to me. An ancient and massively powerful youkai with all the emotional maturity of a kindergartener with a crush. Either presents himself as a noble white-furred beast the size of a building or a fat cat with a squeaky voice. And also a lookalike of a long-dead schoolgirl whom he has strong unfavourable opinions about. Knows perfectly well how human-youkai friendships end and jumps in head first anyway, rip to you but I’m different. Indulges Natsume’s every whim, acts like he has cooties when he says “thank you”. Jokes about eating Natsume on the daily, casually mentions his intention to stay with him until his dying breath. Can’t bear the thought of anyone finding out he’s got any sort of positive feelings for Natsume. Unabashedly spends his every waking (and sleeping) hour with said Natsume. Wise and perspicacious enough to know when to step back and how to guide Natsume to learn things at his own pace. Is the most unconvincing liar ever. Spends his free time getting into the pettiest squabbles, making outlandish demands and pestering neighbourhood dogs. He’s massively respected among youkai. He’s a public nuisance among youkai. He’s a spiritual guide. He’s an annoying sibling. He’s an alcoholic parent. He’s a pet mascot. He’s a main character. And I’ve got 5 and a half seasons left to go.
I love this fat cat, or well, neko daruma..
Imagine you're a spy. You're good at your job, but the work you do is difficult and dangerous and there aren't many people to do it.
Then, miraculously, you stumble into a teenager who you immediately recognize as having potential. He could help you. Given training, he could be better at your job than even you are.
But no, he wants no part of that life. He's only recently found a peaceful life and won't give it up. It's for the best, you tell yourself. He's too soft anyway. He could never make the hard decisions that you do, and it might even get him killed in the end. (And maybe you want that life for him. You want him to keep that side of himself that you had to discard).
And then. On what should be a routine mission (nothing is ever routine when the kid is involved) you find out that this kid, who wants no part of your work and lives in the middle of fucking nowhere, has inherited a book full of like. The fucking nuclear codes. And has been regularly dodging assassination attempts for as long as you've known him.
Congratulations! You are Natori Shuuichi.

Sorry.
No natori was harmed in the making of the meme.
observe.
hc that people just assume Natsume doesn’t speak Japanese as a first language when they meet him but then they actually have a conversation with him and he talks like a weird mix of city dialect + ancient prose that’s genuinely baffling. Like why is does foreign-looking high schooler talk like he’s from the Heian era.
natsume yuujinchou is a fantastic show with great characters, excellent writing and worldbuilding that knows how to tug on your heartstrings in ways you wouldn't think possible.
also these are my three favorite screenshots
those who can see
I read the entire Natsume Yuujinchou manga and have been watching the anime (will watch the movies and OVAs soon, I also heard there's a drama CD..?? I might listen to it if I manage to find it)
See, here's the thing, I already knew of this animanga YEARS AGO and after so many years.. I'm still obsessed with it, OH LAWDDDD
I used to watch the whole 6 seasons that was out, and even one of the movies but I forgot.. it might've actually been an OVA but.. god, it's nostalgic. I watched it because of Nyanko-sensei as a kid, he's so funny 😭 and also lowkey one of the sweetest characters even if he acts like a brute, I understand him (like genuinely, he doesn't have to care for Natsume, yet he does it anyway. He indulges Natsume a lot despite saying he's not gonna help him). He's so me core frfr
I wanna reread the manga ngl.. after I'm done watching the anime seasons >-< and then consume natsuyuu content somewhere....... Idk where but.. somewhere..
That's it.

Rediscovering my love for sanders sides, and now having the skillset to draw the sides the way I wanted to back when I first discovered them, is one of the best feelings I’ve ever had with my art

When the pairing is so good that it doesn’t matter if you see it as romantic or platonic. What matters is that you see them and know that one is not complete without the other. Frequently bought together. Do not separate. If you separate them one of them will bite you
