Day 35

I don’t know why, but it’s hard for me to take a full off day. I went in and was uber productive this morning, but I also took Jo in and that always helps a lot.

Jacob is playing magic in Florence today, so hopefully he’s doing well. Woot. Woot.

I think I’m doing good. Little steps at a time.

Week 4 - Microwave, Microwave, Microwave

Wooooowhooooooooo! Microwave! We got a microwave. Yassss.

Diamond shorted us comics, but emergency shipped it. Alliance sent us heroclix stuff, Southern is my best friend and keeps bringing new games. Games workshop brought us paint and brushes. FedEx and ups both know my name and I’m just like you, sir.

Working really hard. Huzzah!

Week 4 I'm all alone

Just kidding. I’m never alone. Dougy retired on Saturday and Sunday I continued training new guy. Huzzah!

Today, I made so hot food that makes your eyes bleed. However it has a nice flavor. Just so hot.

Also found some good comics and started working on getting more magic stuff together.

Week 3 continues

Officially got all my clothes unpacked and washer and dryer still have not exploded.

New comics came out today and I am borrowing bat mans long Halloween to read.

Tomorrow’s great adventures are to reorder trade paperbacks.

P.S. Joey had to have her dew claw nail removed again. She’s okay just drugged.

Day 8 I feel I have failed to keep this updated. 😤 May 6th was free comic book day and I had 0 free time at work and after work I went out with a friend, I will post a photo. 😁 We went to play pool for an hour then headed back to her place and watched kids movies and ate cookies. I crashed there.

May 7th Took the day off. Dun Dun Dun Duhhhhhh However spent the day looking for stuff for the apartment so I won’t sleep on the floor now and hopefully I have a washer and dryer that works. Just got the stuff to hook it up. So fingers crossed and pray to the gods.

Today Dougie took part of the day off. I took the time he was away to dig through some of the boxes in the back. Found ton of heroclix promo figures. If you’re looking I’ve probably got them. 😁

Magic is on my to do list I solemnly swear. I’m working on setting up a binder.

Day 4 - May the 4th be with you

Everything is fine. This is fine. Lol I got a call from the apartment place to let me know that I can move in tomorrow, when initially it was suppose to be at least 3-4 more weeks.

Today I learned about ordering, then left to go pack.

Huzzah.

P.S. I am the Tetris queen of packing!!! Muahahaha!

Day 3 - May 3rd

Happy Birthday Emma!!!

Yesterday and today has been boot camp. My knowledge base on comics is just titles at best. Doug has me making a map of the store to better understand the layout. :D

Also moved everything around today to start the wall set up on the free comic book day stuff. Tomorrow’s goal is to organize the giant mess of free comics. Woot!

Zero regrets except for the spider...almost walked out during that.

Day 1 - May 1st

If you decide to move to Louisville, don’t do it during derby week. I do not have an apartment yet, but thanks to the wonderful courtesy of a great aunt I do not have to drive 2+ hours everyday. If you are moving and switching jobs, I suggest more than 12 hours between one job and the next. My last day was Sunday, the 30th and my first day was the 1st. I packed everything up, including my dog and drove down that day. This was one of the hardest first days of work, I have ever have. We moved 60+ comic boxes and sanded the floors, just to move them all back. It’s all for the best!!! Free comic book day is Saturday, May 6th and we plan on having a dollar sale starting now! P.S. The predator will be there.

In the beginning....

Hello, my name is Heather and I’m a gaming nerd. I enjoy my board games and have been battling my siblings to play the shiny new Zelda game. I am taking over a comic book store. My grandpa is the owner of 2 stores and the location he doesn’t run has Doug, who is retiring. I volunteered as tribute on March 18th and began working on May 1st. This would not of been a plausible solution, except the stars had aligned and someone, by someone I mean me, made a blood sacrifice or two. I’ve decided to try to keep a blog on my trials. I know I can do this, but I also know it’s going to be a lot of work. Now my knowledge base on comics is certainly lacking and if you have any recommendations on what to start reading, please for the love of the gods comment. Thank you for reading.
