Kinda retro-inspired minimalist anti-genAI poster! Made in like 42 minutes (counting times I got distracted, as well as the Paint.NET-based watermarking and overall shittifying of the final version).

Another sci-fi PDA. The textures were both done in Krita, while the background and reflections were rendered in a separate Blender file.

Haven't done any art for a while (not counting the Air Friar logo, which was a shitpost I slapped together in like five minutes), so here's a futuristic energy-pistol, inspired by Goldsource games like Half-Life and Gunman Chronicles.
The main texture was done entirely in Krita, while the background and chrome effects were cubemaps rendered in Bryce 3D, then turned into equirectangular textures using this plugin. Also here's the tutorial I used to make each cubemap face.
Unconventional themes for teams (and other sets of associated characters)
Taxonomical kingdoms (the three "classic" ones - plants, animals and fungi - and/or the "advanced" ones - protozoa and bacteria; the latter is sometimes split into bacteria and eubacteria, but that could get confusing).
The four states of matter (solid, liquid, gas, plasma).
Videogame genres.
Historical art-movements.
Chimerical colours.
3D texturing terminology (e.g diffuse, displacement, specular, ambient occlusion).
The original 9 Circles of Hell from the Inferno (Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, Treachery; ULTRAKILL fans will be familiar with these, since that's basically just The Inferno with guns).
Five basic tastes (saltiness, sweetness, bitterness, sourness, savoriness/Umami).
Game consoles/developers, but in a non-annoying way.
Romance-novel subgenres.
Some more!
Types of polyhedra (e.g regular, stellated, dual).
Flavours of ice-cream.
Types of gear (e.g crown, worm, epicyclic).
Weevil species.
Non-square quadrilaterals.
Rock subgenres.
Waterfowl.
Yet more:
Computer display standards (e.g EGA, VGA, UHD).
Placoderms.
Space telescopes.
Types of boat.
Types of cheese.
Cat-breeds.
Arm-bones.
Oh also the reason for the lack of art recently is because I've been working on a different project that. Isn't too dissimilar to some of the stuff I've posted here, and in fact combines some of the artstyles I've played around with, but is more "complete" than a lot of my art. If that makes sense.
Also I'm going to start including alt-text in my posts, since I already do that over on Bluesky and I can just copypaste it here.

I came up with this joke earlier, and decided to make a proper logo based on it. The slogan was technically suggested by my dad.

Hnnggggg I really want to make an off-topic post about something that's seemingly obvious but is apparently controversial for really stupid reasons, but I know I am going to get annoying hate-asks about it even though, again, it is something that people have really polarised opinions on for reasons that are extremely stupid and also maybe intentionally engineered for political reasons
Like to be clear. It will be the ultimate rent-lowering gunshots, but also it's a topic that people are being extremely shitty about in ways that are actually dangerous and stupid, and I don't want to wake up to death threats, but also I like having my asks open.
Like I really want to make my stance on this topic clear but also. I know if I do then the response might make me feel like shit. But also it genuinely pisses me off whenever I see people engaging with it instead of realising how fucking stupid it is. You can probably guess what I am talking about
its still crazy to me years later how artists and writers have been complaining about how hard it is sometimes to draw and write since the dawn of time and we all talk about how we'd love to be able to just make art without actually having to make art but when ai started producing images that were passable as human made art and companies started marketing it as Exactly That, Making Art Without Having To Make Art, we all collectively went "no wtf" and beat the shit out of it with hammers without hesitation
this may be confusing to non artists bc from an outside perspective you may see this and ask "wait, isn't this exactly what you asked for? a way to make art without having to go through the blood and sweat and tears of making art? doesn't this make your job easier?". however when we say we want to be able to draw or write or whatever without actually drawing or writing what we are actually doing is participating in the time honored human tradition of complaining loudly about something while doing it anyways to cope with the fact that we don't want to do it
the end goal isn't to not have to make things anymore. it's to make things with less difficulty. and there is no way to do that except through practice and effort. theres no shortcut. you just gotta deal with it. thats the whole point
do i WISH writing was easier? yes. every day i try to start my faulty lawnmower of a brain while staring at an empty notes document and it either doesnt turn on or gives me like 3 sentences and then stalls again. but if i was actually given the means to make writing easier, even as a support, i would not take it because that defeats the whole point. writing a story is like building a house. if i'm not the one setting the foundation or placing the pillars and supports myself then i'm not actually Building The House im just painting the walls and doing interior design yknow?
Guy called Bill Boarding who always faces towards you.
For the record, the next time I make a model with a "painted" texture, I'm almost certainly going to use texture baking for at least some of it. I didn't for the pistol thing (aside from the texture reference thingy), but I think it would make shading and stuff for the actual base part easier (by which I mean. Automatic) plus I can use procedural noise for, like, camo patterns and stuff.
Also I will make sure to put more thought into the UV layout, like there were a few details I, like, couldn't put on the model because the position and scale of some parts of the texture were really far apart and it was annoying to get them lined up.
