The warm softness of the sun envelops the gardens of the Heartslabyul Dorm on a calm Saturday morning. Riddle hums quietly, enjoying the silence, an uncommon occurrence, even rarer after the enrollment of two certain freshmen in the dorm. Still, he decides to just bask in the moment, a cup of tea in his hand as he enjoys the peace brought by the early hour, when everyone else was sleeping.
“Riddle.” His name is called softly from a near distance, and he’s quick to recognize the owner of the voice, who promptly appears before him, a bag on their hands as the approach his seat.
“Prefect.” He greets with a similar demeanour, gesturing for them to sit down in front of him, his expression stern as usual but his voice softer, maybe due to the quiet ambience, maybe due to the presence of the magicless student. “What brings you here so early?”
“I wanted to see you.” The explanation falls gently from their lips, as they reach for the cup of tea that Riddle extends towards them, which they use to mask the smile on their face as they observe Heartslabyul’s Housewarden blushing slightly at the honesty of their words. “You’ve been awfully busy due to the final exams, haven’t you?”
“Indeed, studying and tutoring members of the dorm takes a great amount of my time.” He nods, his gaze drifting momentarily towards the small bag the Prefect carried, before looking at them once again. “I trust you’ve already done plenty of studying for the upcoming tests?”
“Haha, of course…” They answered with a nonchalant voice, although the slight fidgety movement of their hands could betray that their statement was perhaps, not at all true, which didn’t go unnoticed by the second-year student.
“…If you were to be in need of assistance on any subject, please don’t refrain from seeking my help.”
“Oh, don’t worry! You’re already busy enough handling your students, I wouldn’t want to bother you.”
“You’re never a bother, Prefect.”
Silence reigned once again between the two of them, as the Prefect took a moment to recover from the natural way in which Riddle’s words made their heart flutter with delight, only fuelling further the nervous sensation they had before they arrived at his dorm.
‘This may be the best moment to do it.’ They conclude after a brief look at Riddle’s peaceful expression, clearing their throat to catch his attention as they pick up the bag that was previously resting on their lap.
“Drinking tea with you wasn’t the only reason why I came here, I must tell you.” They mumbled, taking a small canvas out of their bag, glancing at the inviting expression of the Housewarden, who quietly encouraged them to continue. “I wanted to give you this.”
Riddle picks up the canvas carefully, his expression stern but his touch gentle as he holds it and allows himself to examine it attentively. His face quickly burns in bright red as he recognizes his very own features captured with delicacy on the fibres of the canvas, accompanied by flowers that surrounded his frame with the same artistry.
“Do you like it?” The Prefect breaks the silence, their impatience growing further as they observed the lack of comment from the Heartslabyul student. He coughs discreetly on his palm as to mask his bashful state, his gaze drifting away from the canvas towards the person in front of him.
“It’s a marvellous work.” Is all he manages to say, before realizing how tactless he sounded. “I…I really appreciate it. Deuce and Ace had commented before that you were skilled at painting, but I might have underestimated their words.”
“Well, I’m still learning a few things, so there may be some mistakes on the portrait-”
“It’s perfect, I assure you.” He interrupts quickly, a faint smile on his lips. “May I ask what led you to choose me for the painting?”
“I just felt like drawing you.” The Prefect blurted out, their gaze avoiding Riddle’s eyes as they could feel the heat rising toward their cheeks.
“I noticed there are flowers on the portrait, too. I’m not familiar with them, what are these?”
The Prefect sighed to shake away the anxious feeling on their chest, thinking about the inspiration for the painting, while refuging themselves behind the cup of the tea that had been sitting forgotten on the table for a few minutes now.
“Well, at first, I wanted to paint red roses. It was the most obvious option for me.” They explained carefully, glancing at the flowers that surrounded them in the middle of the dorm garden. “But I’ve been reading about flower language lately, and I wanted to look for something more fitting. A flower that represented my feelings better, you could say. These flowers-” They pointed them out on the canvas. “-are red tulips.”
“How interesting.” He mumbled, curiously observing the painting, looking at the detailed illustrations. “I’m not really familiar with flower language. What do red tulips mean?”
“That’s something you’ll have to investigate by yourself, I’m afraid.” They got up from their sitting, picking up their bag. “After all, what’s the fun in telling you directly?”
“I suppose you’re right, Prefect.” Riddle smiled softly, carefully leaving the painting on the table, allowing him to walk towards the magicless student to bid them goodbye properly. “Thank you for the portrait, I’ll treasure it accordingly.”
“I’m glad you liked it.” They mumbled, ready to go back to their own dorm before Grim woke up. “I’ll see you around, Riddle.”
“Of course. I’ll inform you as soon as I look into the meaning of the flowers.”
“…Take your time, don’t worry.” Their voice was tinted with embarrassment before they turned around to leave the Heartslabyul dorm. Riddle kept their gaze on them until they disappeared out of the garden, his cheeks tinted red as he looked once again at the portrait on the table, a reminder of the thoughtfulness of the Prefect.
It didn’t take long before he found himself walking through the corridors of the library, a book about flowers in his hand, his curiosity piqued as he searched for the specific kind of plant among the pages.
“Red tulips, red tulips, red tulips…. Oh, here they are.”
His fingers suddenly dropped the book on the table in front of him. Riddle nervously glanced once again at the words printed on the piece of paper as to make sure he didn’t read incorrectly, his face painted on a bright red that seemed to put the colour of a red rose to shame.
‘ Red Tulip: passion, romance. “I declare my love.” ‘

‘My bed, my bed, my bed… All I need right now is my bed. And a warm drink. Oh, and my fluffy pajamas, and maybe a snack-'
After a long day at school, it was evident the magicless prefect was in need of a more deserved break. But it was Friday, and Grim joined Ace and Deuce at a game afternoon, so she could rest, for once. Oh, when was the last time she had a peaceful evening? It was nice not to be buried in work, at least for a second.
“Oh, mommy! We’ve been looking for you, mommy!”
What.
“I really should go back to sleeping eight hours, I’m even starting to hallucinate.” The prefect mumbled to herself, because why else would she hear the voice of a CHILD in the middle of school?
“Moooommy! Don’t ignore me, I know you can hear me!”
Again.
“Maybe a nap of five hours will fix this, yup.” She continued her path towards Ramshackle. If I don’t acknowledge it, it doesn’t exist...
“Mother, please!”
“A nap and a balanced meal, that’s all I need…”
The young kid seemed to have grown tired of her failed attempts to call the prefect, so she was quick to hurry to where the Ramshackle student was, interrupting her walk. Instead of continuing to call her from afar, she abruptly stood in front of the tired girl.
“Mom!”
“A CHILD!”
The magicless student suddenly screamed, visibly perturbed at the fact that her ‘hallucinations’ actually belonged to a rather tall girl (who seemed to be at least eight years old), instead of some voices in the back of her tired mind.
“Oh my… I’m so sorry, are you lost?” She immediately swiped her demeanor, trying her best to shake away the fatigue. “What’s your name? Were you looking for your parents?” The prefect was quick to ask, crouching down to be at the same level as the kid.
“Ah, you finally noticed me! Please don’t get mad at me, it was Uncle Ace I swear!”
“Sorry?”
“He was bragging about how great he was Ancient Curses when he was at school, and then he wanted to make a demonstration but Uncle Deuce stepped in and interrupted him and then everything went BAM, and then WOOOSH and we woke up here, so we started looking for you and Papa and-“
“You lost me at Ancient Curses.” She mumbled while sighing, a bit startled by the child’s sudden outburst. “But you said something about Papa, right? Tell me what he looks like and we can look for him.”
“You know what he looks like! It’s not time for your jokes.” The child pouted, seemingly offended at the statement of the prefect, whose confused expression contrasted with the annoyance of the kid in front of her.
“…I don’t?”
“But you’re married to him.”
“…”
“…”
“I’M NOT MARRIED YET?”
“Yes, you are! You told me you got married after university!”
“I’m in high school, so how can you…?” She paused quickly, straightening her back to stand up as she grasped her words, her shocked expression only growing as she analyzed the situation. Then something clicked, and she anxiously crouched again to speak to the little girl. “Wait, wait, oh no…Who did you say were your uncles?”
“Well, there’s Uncle Ace and Uncle Deuce, but also Uncle Epel, Uncle Sebek, and-“
"How old are they?"
"I don't know? 30...40... Something like that I guess."
(Y/n) sighed heavily, promptly closing her eyes, her hands softly pinching the bridge of her nose as the situation started to be clearer for her. After a few overblots, some kidnapping and other incidents, (Y/n) found hilarious how plausible the possibility was that the child before her was telling the truth. She was now living in a world with magic, after all.
"So, it's more likely that you...are my child?” The kid nodded. “From the future?" Another nod.
"Yeah, exactly! I've never been in the past so sorry if I said something confusing, Mama!"
Mama.
Oh, great seven.
"Don't worry, kiddo. It's alright, it's alright..." The prefect mumbled, mostly for herself rather than for the child, as she patted her head softly. "Now I suppose we have to look for someone who can help you to come back to...the future, yeah. Let's go." (Y/n) tried to recover herself as quickly as possible, ignoring the questions in her mind by extending her hand for the little girl to take it.
"Oh, but I have to come back to tell my siblings that I found you!"
"Please tell me I heard 'siblings' incorrectly."
"No, no, but you'll be happy to meet them! Let's go find them~."
'Breath in, breath out, everything's fine. The children won't come into your life right now. You have a lot of years ahead before, you can do this.' The prefect thought, reassuring herself that this brief taste of her future life would go away as soon as she found someone who would send her kids back where they belonged, hopefully without even getting to know who was the father of the kids, and the person she would probably marry.
The last thing she needed was information that would only make her feel awkward with one of her classmates. That, if her future husband even went to Night Raven College, perhaps it was someone she hadn’t even met yet-
“OOOH, YOU FOUND MAMA!”
“Oh, hi Mom. You look different.”
Wolf ears.
Fluffy tails.
Golden eyes.
“Great Seven…”
There was no denying it now.
She knew very well those features; it was painfully easy to reach a conclusion.
“Is…Is there a chance, that maybe, your dad’s name is Jack?”
Perhaps her crush on the Savanaclaw student wasn’t as hopeless as she thought.

Her children were quite interesting.
After giving a long explanation to Professor Crewel, he (begrudgingly) promised to come up with a solution to help her. After finishing their conversation, he left the alchemy classroom where she found him, willing to go looking for books to fix the situation, giving her time to observe more carefully the kids who waited on the chairs next to hers, as the teacher entrusted her not to leave the room while he looked for the solution.
As she sat in one of the classroom chairs with the youngest kid on her lap playing mindlessly with the buttons of her blazer, she could only watch as the other two children played with some books they found around, carefully noticing the little perks of their personalities.
The oldest was a tall one who had less noticeable beast features, which could be the reason why she didn’t figure out immediately the resemblance she had with the Savanaclaw first-year, as the similarities lay more on her strong personality and respectful demeanour rather than her looks.
Contrary to that, there was the second born, an energetic six-year-old boy, whose appearance seemed to be almost identical to his father. (Y/n) had never seen photos of Jack when he was a child, but even so, she could swear that would be exactly how he looked when he was young. Perhaps she could ask him about it later…?
However, with the youngest, it was a bit more difficult. She was a lovely five-year-old, with hair just like hers in both colour and form, but her face seemed different, and she couldn’t figure out if she looked more like Jack or herself, so perhaps it was a mix of them, she supposed.
“All of you are very cute.” The prefect commented mindlessly, not aware of the smile that adorned her expression, as she ran her fingers through the soft hair of the youngest child, who seemed happy at the contact, seemingly used to it. “It’s quite nice to know that I’ll have such a lovely family in the future…”
“It seems Professor Crewel wasn’t lying, after all.”
Who…?
“PAPA! You’re here too!”
“Jack?!” The Ramshackle student acknowledged the presence of the first-year with a little more intensity than she intended, as she turned around to see him standing close to the door. The Savanaclaw promptly closed the door before getting closer to them, as the youngest child jumped out of her lap to run towards him.
“Prefect.” The beastman greeted with his usual stern voice, unaltered at the two youngest children that quickly climbed to his arms, carrying them as if he was used to it, as both children bombarded him with greetings and questions.
“What are you doing here? I thought you were in club practice.”
“I was supposed to be there, yeah. But Professor Crewel informed me about the…situation. So, I’m here to take responsibility and help him to find a solution.”
“…Responsibility?”
“For my kids. Future. Future kids, of course.” He said, but the prefect couldn’t help but notice the lack of eye contact he had, something unusual for him, although, given the circumstances, it was understandable; but was that a blush on his cheeks…?
“Our kids.” (Y/n) mentioned, pushing his limits slightly, curious at the reaction of the first year.
“…Yeah.”
“You seem fairly comfortable with them, by the way.” She added, pointing with her chin at the way he held the kids, making Jack glance at both kids as they kept talking to each other.
“I’m used to carrying my siblings in this way, I suppose it’s natural for me.”
“Interesting.”
An awkward silence reigned over the room; the children surprisingly going silent, maybe waiting for the teenagers to speak to each other, but it seemed that they were…too embarrassed for it.
“Should we take a look at the books we have here while we wait for the Professor to come back? Perhaps we can help him.”
“Good idea.”
“Good.”
⤿
⤿
“Bye, mama! Bye, papa! See you in a few years!”
“Haha, yeah, see you…”
“Come back safely.”
After Professor Crewel was able to send the kids back where they were supposed to be, both Jack and the prefect were quick to bid them goodbye. When everything was fixed, their teacher excused himself to come back to his duties, as both first-year students thanked him for the help.
She sighed with a tired demeanour as their teacher left the classroom, and then realized that Jack was still in the room with her.
“Would…would you like to talk about what just happened?” The beastman broke the silence, an awkward air surrounded him, and (Y/n) could sense the anticipation in his voice covered by his usual respectful tone.
“If I’m honest with you…Not really. What’s in the future should be left where it belongs; in the future. I think there’s no need for us to worry about something that’s not gonna happen until a few years more, you know?” Answered (Y/n) in the sincerest way she could reply. She was already too tired after running around the campus with three little children at what was supposed to be her free afternoon, and way too exhausted to be concerned about kids that didn’t even exist yet.
“It’s alright, I understand.” She could see a glimpse of disappointment on his face combined with a weird touch of relief. Maybe he wanted to speak about it but preferred not to push her if she didn’t want to.
Jack’s politeness and sense of justice was something the prefect always admired about him, one part of his personality that led her to develop a small crush on him, one she thought was senseless as the beastman didn’t seem to have any interest in her. But it never hurt to prove her luck.
“But if you’re up to chat about anything else, perhaps you want to take a walk in the city tomorrow? I have to pick Grim at Heartslabyul in a while, but I don’t have any plans for the weekend.” She suggested timidly, a tender smile making way its way to her expression, a vibrant contrast against Jack’s surprised face.
“Oh- I…I guess I’m free at that time, so I suppose I can, yeah.” The Savanaclaw student answered, trying to play it cool, ignoring the heat at his cheeks, awkwardly resting his hand on the back of his neck.
“That’s great! We can meet at the front gate-”
“I’ll pick you up at Ramshackle, don’t worry.” He added, his gaze far away from the prefect’s eyes. “If you’re okay with it, of course.”
(Y/n)’s smile quickly changed into a gentle laugh as she was amused to see the sudden shyness of the first year, giving her more confidence to answer. “I’d love to, actually. I look forward to it.”
“Great, see you tomorrow, then.” The white-haired boy turned back, wanting to go back to his dorm before he could get more embarrassed.
“Oh, Jack, before you leave.”
“Yeah?”
“Someday, can you show a picture of you when you were little?”

“So, if we do the potion correctly we’ll be able to dream about our future tonight?”
“That’s right, pup.” Professor Crewel nodded as he pointed at the board, where the steps for the potion were clearly written in detail, with all the considerations that were expected to be taken for the use of the components for the potion.
“That’s so cool…” Deuce mumbled, his eyes observing the board with excitement.
“You have an hour; you can start now.” Crewel signalized as each of you started to work on your potion.
By the end of the class, and after everyone had finished, it was finally the moment to drink the potion. You sighed with exhaustion, after spending the last hour doing your assignment at the same time as you helped Grim with his own potion.
“I already know I’ll be the greatest mage of all but it doesn’t hurt to see it by myself!” Grim spoke with a confident demeanour, drinking the potion immediately. You just giggled and imitated his action, although a bit slower than him.
The next morning, as you walked towards your classroom, you encountered Ace and Deuce in the middle of the hallway, with disappointed expressions on their faces.
“Oh, hello Prefect.” Deuce mumbled as soon as he saw you, which made you curious of their attitude.
“What’s the matter, boys? The potion didn’t work?” You frowned slightly, wondering what kind of future they could have for them to be in such a bad mood.
“I didn’t dream anything.” He sighed, as Ace groaned next to him.
“Me neither.” The Heartslabyul first-year murmured irritated. “Man, this really sucks…”
“Were you able to have the dream, Prefect?”
You stared at both of your friends for a few seconds, a sensation of heat reaching your cheeks after you recalled the events of the last night. You coughed to try to cover up your embarrassment, deciding to keep your dream to yourself.
“…No, I didn’t. A pity, really. Very unfortunate. Let’s go to class already, okay?” You suggested, walking past them to continue your way towards the classroom, too focussed on running away to notice the other student who was walking in the opposite direction, promptly crashing into him before you could avoid it.
“Oh, Prefect, are you okay?” You heard a voice call you as he held you to prevent you from falling.
‘Please don’t be him, please don’t be him…’ You thought to yourself as you raised your head to see the person who was talking to you. ‘Great Sevens, it’s him.’

‘Hello, my rose. I see you got out of work early. Ah, you baked strawberry tart? But you must be tired. I’ll make tea while you take a break. What are you saying? I should be making herbal tea according to the Queen’s rules because of the hour? Just like old times…Fine, I’ll indulge you. Just rest for now, alright? I love you too.’ “
“I asked if you’re alright. Perhaps you hit yourself in the head?” Riddle, the actual Riddle asked once again, as you stared at him while still remembering your dream from last night.
“No, I’m okay!” You quickly stand straight, enlarging the distance between him and you, as he observes you with a stoic frown, an expression quite different from the one you recalled from the future. “I was just distracted. You probably were on your way to class, please don’t worry.”
“It’s nothing.” He mumbled, watching your nervous expression as he wondered the reason behind your unusual behaviour. “You’ll be late if you stand there, don’t get too distracted.” He added before turning back, making you sigh out of relief as you expected to be left alone to die of embarrassment by yourself, until Riddle looked at you briefly. “Ah, now I remember. Trey asked me to invite you to Heartslabyul this afternoon. He baked strawberry tart and said you might fancy an invitation.”
You stared at him for a few seconds, the question slipping out of your mouth before you could think about it. “Oh, of course, that’s your favourite, right?”
“You are correct, Prefect. Though, I wonder how you knew about that.” You couldn’t help but chuckle at his puzzled expression.

﹙❥﹚Deuce Spade ❜ ˖ ࣪⊹ ִֶָ
He tries his best, most of the time.
Every time he gets jealous or mad at someone else, he has to remind himself that he’s no longer a delinquent. 'Top students don’t engage in fights', he’d say to himself, even though he was well aware he had been in a few arguments with other students ever since he joined Night Raven College, each time promising himself it wouldn’t happen again.
Until it came to something related to you.
It was Halloween, it was supposed to be fun. You wanted to try a different costume this time, and decided to wear a more eccentric outfit, trying to match the extravagance of the other dorms.
You looked really cute, and Deuce was quick to compliment you, taking your hand with an excited demeanour, walking with you towards the Heartslabyul stand to show the rest of your friends your outfit.
He was really happy, as he walked along you, entertained as he listened to you talking about how you went into town and tried in many costumes before choosing that one, when he was able to hear a comment made by another Hearstlabyul student as they walked by.
"Well, they got no magic and no style, huh? Where did they even get that costume, at the kid's section?"
"Repeat what you just said." Deuce was quick to stop his walk, turning towards the student with a frown on his face.
"I said they look terrible." He answered with a defiant demeanour.
"They look perfect, are you out of your mind?" He got closer to the student with a menacing aura, ready to punch him if it was necessary.
"Not really, I've seen better-dressed scarecrows, why are you even letting them go outside like that?"
That was it.
Before you could even stop him, Deuce threw a punch directly at the guy's face, who wasn't even brave enough to defend himself, instead he just stood there holding his now bleeding nose, seemingly out of words now.
"And just so you know, they can dress however they want! And they got their costume at the adult section, don't say such stupid things!" He screamed as you dragged him out of the place, trying to avoid the small crowd that was starting to form due to the sudden commotion.
"Riddle's gonna kill you if he knows about this, you know?" You commented as you both walked to Ramshackle now, deciding to wait a bit before going to Heartslabyul.
"And It'll be worth it! He had no reason to say that kind of thing about you."
"I don't care, really."
"But I do! No one will insult you in front of me without getting what they deserve."
You giggled softly at his attitude, stopping briefly to plant a kiss on his cheek.
"Well, thank you, my Prince Charming." You watched as he blushed, timidly holding your hand.
"Whe-whenever you need it, my love!"

﹙𖧵ֹֺֽ໋໋݊﹚Jade Leech ❜ ˖ ࣪⊹ ִֶָ
He can definitely fight, but it won't be his first option, unless the other person is the one who starts it, which never happens, because, well, he's Jade Leech.
He prefers to use more efficient techniques to make sure people never bother you again, which is why is widely known around school that no one should mess with Ramshackle's Prefect.
So imagine his surprise when, in the middle of one of his shifts, as you were sitting on one of the stools of the bar while waiting for him to be done, he heard a most unfortunate comment.
"Doesn't Azul always bother everyone about how this is a very distinguished place? I wonder who let them in while looking like that, they look like they came here straight out of bed."
As Jade was walking to a different table, he heard two students from Scarabia, making him promptly direct his gaze towards you, sitting by the bar with your headphones, without being aware of the words directed at you. It was Saturday, and you had stayed at his dorm last night, so you had decided to wear something comfy as you waited for your boyfriend. The outfit of the day was one of Jade's hoodies, which had a small embroidery of a mushroom on the front, along with a loose pair of jeans, as you supposed nobody would look at you in the secluded corner you chose to be.
You looked absolutely adorable in his eyes, and he wouldn't stand for malicious comments about you.
"Is everything alright? Are you enjoying your meal?" He asked politely towards the group of Scarabia students, who froze up immediately when Jade appeared out of nowhere, his smile more frightening than usual.
"Ye-yeah, everything is fine."
"I'm glad to hear that, but..." His smile widened as he got closer to the student who made the comment earlier, whispering so only he could hear. "I wonder if you'd be still fine if Professor Crewel knew about how you cheated on his last exam?" An innocent tone could be heard in his voice.
"How-how did you-?"
"This is a very distinguished place, as you know. It'd be inappropriate to allow patrons with such immoral attitudes to be seen in here."
"Let me talk to Azul, you can't-"
"Uh? What was that? I can't do it, you say?" He raised an eyebrow, a curious expression on his face, as he expected an answer from the nervous student, who knew better than to make Jade Leech angry.
"We-were finished either way, right? Thanks for the service, we'll be going!" The other student interrupted, quickly getting up to get ready to leave.
"Ah, I hope you enjoyed your time here." The vicehousewarden bowed politely. "But I hope you're aware that, if you make such inconvenient comments about my partner, I won't let you go as easily." He added with a close-eyed smile that didn't match his words in the slightest, as the students went away as fast as they could.
"Uhm, Jade? Your shift is about to finish, isn't it?" You asked taking your headphones out of your head to speak to your boyfriend more properly, as he placed one of your favourite drinks in front of you, his smile remaining on his face, but this time being softer.
"Yes, my love, just wait a bit more."

Some days he fights, someday he doesn't care at all, some days he'll let you defend yourself if you want.
Either way, same as Jade, you weren't bothered often. No one would risk enraging the unpredictable Leech twin, and at first, when you started dating, some people wouldn't even look at you at risk of being misunderstood by the Octavinelle second-year.
It was less extreme now, as you've dated him for a while, but there were still some people who preferred to be more cautious around you.
But of course, there'll be always stupid people who'd make rude comments even when Floyd was near.
"Wish me luck, shrimpy!" Your boyfriend looked at you expectant, an excited smile on his face.
"Good luck, Floyd, score some points, okay?" You kissed his cheek softly, giggling when he accommodated the hoodie you were wearing, before going back to the basketball court.
You were in the stands, waiting for the start of a match between Night Raven College and another school which you didn't much about, you just knew that you were supposed to be there to support your boyfriend, and your friends too.
Floyd played better when you were around, and he liked to find you right away in the middle of the crowd, which is why he gave you his hoodie before the match. A hoodie that he likes to wear loose, and considering his height, you wondered if it'd fit you right when he offered it. You were wrong, and now you were sitting while completely drowning in the piece of clothing, making you look a bit out of place. But you didn't care, as long as he was happy.
The match started and everything went smoothly, as Floyd seemed to be on top of his game, scoring points left and right as he watched you cheer on him.
Until a student from the other school spotted you in the middle of the crowd, laughing to himself and then commenting on it with one of his classmates.
"Did you see that one student over there? I wonder if all the students here dress like such a mess, that hoodie is at least four sizes bigger than them."
"Perhaps they didn't even look themselves in the mirror before coming here, how embarrassing."
Floyd frowned as he heard such a comment about you, quickly deciding his strategy. He wouldn't allow words like that to be directed at his little Shrimpy.
"Hey, Floyd, pass it to me- what are you doing?!"
BAM.
The whole gymnasium fell into silence as Floyd threw the ball in the air. The thing was, that instead of being aimed to score a point, it landed on a different place...On the head of the student from the other school.
You could only watch in surprise, as Floyd turned around to show you a thumbs-up, as if he had solved a problem you had no idea about.
"Floyd! What was that?!"
It was a very effective strategy, at least.

He'll fight at any opportunity that he gets.
After all, that's what a good boyfriend does, right? Defending you from stupid people it's his number one priority, and he wants to show you that you can depend on him.
It reaches a point in which Vil has to intervene, as it has been a regular thing lately, something the housewarden can't allow. 'Brutes don't belong in Pomefiore', is what he tells Epel one day as he scolds him, reminding him there are more ethical ways to solve things. Now he's on observation; one more fight and he'll be punished by cleaning all the windows of the dorm.
Ever since, he has been doing good, and you help him calm down when some stupid student from another dorm says something mean, telling him they don't know anything about the two of you.
But one day, as you both hang out in the Pomefiore lounge, he hears some second-years speak to each other across the room, as if you two weren't literally a few meters away from them.
"Did you see that atrocious sweater? No matter how you look a it, it doesn't match their jeans at all. Vil should stop letting people with such bad taste enter Pomefiore, don't you think?"
"What did ya say about (Y/n)?!" Epel startled you as he suddenly got up from the sofa you both were, quickly walking towards the other Pomefiore students, who observed him with a superior demeanour.
"We were talking about how badly your partner dresses. You're a Pomefiore student, Epel, you should know better than to let them walk outside with such ugly clothing."
"I gifted them that sweater! Take back your words, you idiot!"
"And the next I'm gonna tarnish is gonna be your face if ya don't apologise to them, so hurry up, would ya?" Epel interrupted, promptly getting ready for fighting.
"Epel, let's just go to my dorm, okay? If you get into another fight you'll get punished." You tried to talk some common sense into him, considering that Vil would immediately know if there was an argument in his dorm.
"They're insulting you, ain't no way I'll letting 'em get away from that."
"But Vil-"
"I don't give a damn 'bout Vil-"
"What's the meaning of this scandal?!"
Well...You'll help him clean those windows, would you?

You look pretty when you're concentrated.
That’s what Silver believes.
That’s what he has thought for months now, observing you from afar but never actually speaking to you. He had no reason for it, he reasoned. You weren’t classmates, you weren’t in the same year, you weren’t part of the same club as him, and you didn’t go to Diasomnia often. But still, he found comfort in observing you after class, two tables away from you in the library, too focused to even notice his gaze.
Lilia had suggested to him the library as a better place to study, saying that maybe he wouldn’t fall asleep so quickly there, with so many people around, but he wouldn’t be too distracted by sudden noises, as he would be in Diasomnia, and Silver followed his advice.
The first day he failed, horribly. He chose a corner that was way too lonely, making him fall asleep through the whole evening before the librarian went to him to ask him to leave due to the late hours.
The second day was better, as he chose a more transited table, with enough people passing around to keep him alert. But it was way too crowded, and when he got up to look for another book, someone else had already taken his seat.
On the third day, he found a nice spot, with few people and a lot of silence. He took a seat at the table next to the window, and that’s when he saw you. He knew who you were, as everyone in the school. A magicless student from another world wasn’t often seen around, after all, but you never had the opportunity to talk before.
And he found encouragement in how dedicated you seemed to read the giant books that awaited next to you, all of them providing you with information about a world you knew nothing about yet. At first, he gazed at you when he felt himself about to fall asleep, but a few weeks later, he watched you just for the sake of it.
His father had spoken to him about the concept of love at first sight, quite a lot of times, but he never thought much of it. He was a knight, he had a duty and no space for anything else for anything but his family, even less for affections originated from things as superficial as someone’s appearance.
But then he saw you, and it was more than that.
And you started to greet him after weeks of sitting on the same spots of the library, as you thought it’d be polite to do so, getting surprised at the soft reddish tone that appeared on Silver’s cheeks when you spoke to him. You never believed he’d be such a shy person.
From then on, you still sat in the same seats, but would engage in conversation, from time to time, even if it wasn’t often, as you were occupied most of the time with the pile of books that always followed you, never becoming smaller. Silver, on the other hand, was also busy with his homework, which he could finish faster if he hadn’t started to daydream as he gazed at you.
“Hi, Silver, had you been doing well?”
“Yes, I have, thank you for asking.” He answered with his usual blunt voice. “I’ve seen you struggle with History of Magic, perhaps you’d need help with it.” He’d add nonchalantly.
“I’d appreciate it, thanks for the offer.” You’d answer with a soft smile.
Yet he remained silent, not being able to offer his help, as you quickly went to your seat after the brief greeting. You had a test for tomorrow and no time to lose. And he had a report to finish for Crewel’s class, one that would be finished already if it wasn’t for his gazing habits.
“Lilia told me you were good at physical training, is that right?” You asked one day, as you carried your books as usual.
“He's right. As a knight, it’s important to have great strength.”
“Would you mind helping with a certain exercise Vargas taught us? It’s far more complex than I thought and I’d like to know before the next class.”
“Of course, I wouldn’t mind helping if I can.”
“Thank you, Silver.”
From then on, and after he had helped you with the exercise, you’d speak more often. About school, about your friends, about his training. About the restaurant you’ve been wanting to go to for the past month. About how he was free the next Saturday. About you telling him that Grim would stay with Ace and Deuce for the weekend. About him saying he had errands to run that day. About you asking him if he’d like to stop by the restaurant to join you for lunch.
Then you started to hang out at Diasomnia more frequently, saying it was nice and quiet as long as Sebek wasn’t around. It was natural, Silver thought, as you were Malleus’ friend, Sebek’s classmate, and an avid fan of the Pop Music Club, of which Lilia was part. You had a lot of reasons to be there, he believed, and he didn’t think much of it when you stayed even if it was only him, without Malleus, Sebek or Lilia.
But one day you’d stayed late, none of you noticing the darkness outside, too concentrated for it. Silver was quite proud of himself, getting focused enough to read for long hours, only noticing how much time had passed as he felt a light weight on his shoulder. You had fallen asleep. 'How funny', he thought, he was usually the one doing that.
So, he put all your books in your backpack and picked you up to carry you towards Ramshackle.
When he went back to his dorm, he realized. Was there something different in the way he held you, as if he was carrying a rare treasure? Or in the fondness he felt when you thanked him half asleep for bringing you home? Or in Lilia’s teasing when he arrived at Diasomnia, as he claimed to have raised a Prince Charming who treated his beloved with kindness?
But he knew he was no Prince. He was a knight, with a duty. To Lord Malleus. To his father. To his family.
Yet, when you confessed that you saw differently, one day, in the middle of the library, he couldn’t bring himself to reject you, too enamoured by the affection of your gaze and the tenderness of your voice.
'A knight can also be capable of love', Lilia had told him when he confided his worries.
You were perfect for him, after all. He could imagine you accompanying him through his training. Staying for the night at Diasomnia. Getting close to all the people he adored deeply. Fighting with Sebek at late hours when he wouldn’t allow you to have a night snack. Backing away when Lilia offered to make it for you. Laughing with Malleus as Sebek and him would try to convince the vicehousewarden to stay away from the kitchen. Coming back with him to his room to sleep in each other’s arms.
Coming back to his homeland with you for the holidays. Sending you letters when he was away in his fourth year. You moving to Briar Valley after graduation. Malleus becoming king and making him one of his main knights. Coming back home at night to your smile, after long days.
But then he blinked, once, twice, thrice. He had been falling asleep more often, lately. His eyelids were too heavy for him to avoid it, he couldn’t blame himself for it. He turned away his gaze from the window, looking at the seat that was two tables away.
The seat was empty.
It had become unbearable, the loneliness of that place. You wouldn’t come back with him to Diasomnia, or to Briar Valley, or to a home that was both yours and his.
You wouldn’t come back at all.
He was a knight, he couldn’t leave himself failing once again, as he had already failed the duty he had to you.
Only leaving him dreaming of what could have been if you hadn’t put yourself in front of him when Malleus attacked him during his overblot. If he had protected you from the pain and the fear that he observed in your eyes as you faded away in his arms.
Now you only existed in his dreams, and it wasn’t enough for him.

Now, don’t get Leona wrong, he’s confident in himself, and trusts you completely, he’s well aware (and very smug about it) of how much you love him.
But something about your friendship with Malleus…irks him, awfully. The worst part? Malleus doesn’t even notice. In fact, he was quite amused to hear you talk about how nice Leona was to you, the delight visible in his eyes when you jokingly said that, if they ever got married, he’d be the first one invited to the wedding.
So there’s not much that Leona can tell you about it, he was your best friend.
After all, Malleus’ midnight visits were a thing before he even started to like you, as well as the outings to the town to eat ice cream, and the evenings where Malleus would talk to you about gargoyles, and…Great Seven, how much time could that lizard take away from you?
He had to put an end to it, for the sake of his own sanity.
⤿
“Draconia.” The beastman called once him after a housewarden meeting (one of the few Malleus had the opportunity to attend, after you personally notified him so he wouldn’t be angry later), staying behind, deciding to give him a word or two on respecting the time you should have reserved for your partner.
“Kingscholar.” He called in the same demeanour, his voice as stern as usual, but even more in the presence of the Savanaclaw housewarden. “Do you require something?”
“Yes, actually. I require for you to stop taking away all the free time of my herbivore-of (Y/n), so they-“
“Ah, you mean to speak to me about my bestie?” He asked, the seriousness in his face not matching his words not even in the slightest, leaving Leona as confused as he was startled, his baffled expression making Malleus curious “Apologies, perhaps I used the word wrongly?”
“Where the hell did you even learn that?”
“Do you not know it either? According to Child of Man, is used as a term of endearment for a dear friend-“
“I know what it means.” He clarified, frowning. Of course, you taught him that, where else could the lizard learn any word that wasn’t straight out taken out of a history book? He should have guessed so. Malleus stared quietly at the beastman waiting for him to speak again, but when he observed how he seemed to be deep in thought (he was actually trying to look for a way to finish this quickly before he punched Malleus in the face), so he decided to encourage conversation once again.
“So, Kingscholar, are you going to spill the tea or what?”
That was it. You could be friends with the horned bastard as long as you kept him away from him.

Ruggie considered himself lucky to have managed to get a partner as beautiful and kind as you, even when he wasn’t the nicest person when meeting new people.
It took a long time for the both of you to build trust between you, as Ruggie usually kept things to himself, believing at first you wanted something out of him.
Of course, he trusts you now, as you’re probably the person who knows him best in the entire school, AND you cook food for him on the weekends, it's like he won the lottery with you.
…Still, he gets jealous from time to time of all the people who seemed to be behind you, and even more of the rich kids who brought gifts to try to impress you.
But there was one that annoyed him the most: Kalim.
Which was funny, because he seemed to be part of the few ones who did it out of mere friendship, nothing more. If he didn’t know Kalim from before, he’d think the expensive necklace that he gave you just because it matched Grim’s eyes would be a clear sign of attraction to you, but he was aware that it was one of the simplest gifts he had given to someone in a while.
And as if it wasn’t enough, he had the habit of interrupting your time with him at the most awful moments, it made his blood boil…At times.

“You’re free this weekend?” You asked, smiling with an excited demeanour at Ruggie’s previous work. “No part-time jobs? No errands for Leona?”
“You heard me right! I have to spare some time to spend with you sometimes too, after all.” He answered with his usual relaxed demeanour. “So, what do ya want to do? Going to the town or staying here to take a nice nap and then watch a movie?”
“Oh, I’d really like to-“
“Prefect, there you are! Ah, hi Ruggie! How are you guys doing?” Kalim’s voice suddenly echoed through the hall where the both of them were previously alone.
“Hey Kalim, we’re doing good. How have you been?” You asked with a pleasant smile, happy to see one of your friends around, distracted enough not to see Ruggie’s annoyed face.
“I’m doing nice, thanks! And I'm planning a party for tonight! Nothing big, just a small thing to spend time with my friends, do you want to go?”
You considered his invitation, promptly turning around to look at Ruggie, silently asking for his opinion. Even though his expression showed clear signs of irritation, he still showed you a thumbs up, as he knew you also enjoyed spending time with the rest of your classmates, and it wasn’t usual for you to have time for it.
Still, you were able to sense his discomfort, so you turned again towards Kalim.
“We’d really love to go! Though, sometimes my stomach can’t handle the spiciness of Jamil’s food very well…Would you mind having some sweeter food? Like donuts?” You suggested, as Kalim nodded enthusiastically.
“Sure thing, I’ll make sure to have enough donuts to fill an entire table! See you both tonight then?”
“Yeah, see you!” You watched as Kalim walked away, oblivious to Ruggie’s previous exasperated face, which was now replaced by anticipation. “Well, the weekend has two days after all, right? We can go to Scarabia today and then we can go to the town tomorrow, what do you think? Or would you like to stay at Ramshackle tonight?”
“And missing out on the donuts buffet? I don’t think so, darling!”
Well, Kalim could be nice, sometimes.

Epel has a short temper, you knew that even before you started to date him. Did it change after you two got together? Absolutely not. If anything, it got worse.
Why did guys around the school think they had a chance with you? You’re taken, that’s it! If they can’t understand that, they’re just looking for a fight with him, he won’t let them believe he isn’t capable of standing up for you. Of which Vil is tired, by the way. One more fight and he'll forbid you to enter Pomefiore.
Handling guys from other dorms was nothing, a lot of them were more talk than actions and backed off quickly. But dealing with someone from your own group of friends liking you? He’s furious. But he can’t show it, because no one else has even a clue of the fact that Jack, out of all people, is also attracted to you.
He never tried anything that wasn’t friendly with you, he respected your space and encouraged you to spend time with Epel, often sitting at a different table with the rest of your friends so you could be alone with your boyfriend, which should make Epel feel more relaxed, but it didn’t.
Anywhere you two went, he could feel Jack’s longing stare from afar, and it wasn’t tiring. Only for him, obviously, because you wouldn’t even notice.

“Hey, Epel, you improved your mark!” You cheered gladly, as Epel walked back to you from the other side of the courtyard. Both of you were in the middle of Vargas’ class, who decided that you’d be running from one side to the other of the courtyard to improve your strength.
“For real? How much?”
“Well, you did it in 35 seconds last week and now it took you 28 seconds.”
“Nice, seems like Spelldrive trainin’s payin' off, after all. What da you say, how ‘bout a little kiss as a reward?” He suggested teasingly, and just when you were about to answer, you could hear Deuce a few meters away from you.
“Wow, Jack! It only took you 24 seconds! That’s so cool!”
“Well, we are in the Track and Field Club, after all…” Jack mumbled, briefly gazing at the Prefect. “Take my time again, would you? I want to see if I can make it in less time.”
Epel frowned, once again bothered by those brief looks, he’d give to you. Did he think he wouldn’t notice? Epel wasn’t going to back off so easily.
“Take my time too, sweetheart. Lemme see if I can make it in 20 seconds.” He spoke right after Jack, making you confused at his sudden competitive air, but you decided to dismiss it, setting the timer as he asked.
And he lost, of course, because what else would you expect from a race with a beastman who’s part of Track Club?
“You did good Epel.” You patted his head when he came back to you, his frustrated expression even more visible now.
“Whatcha mean? I lost by like 10 seconds, seriously I-“
“Them I’m guessing you don’t want your reward kiss?

Crewel’s classes were as entertaining as they were complicated, it was something widely known across Night Raven College.
Now, as (Y/n) stared at the board, they wondered how they could find the day's topic so interesting and fascinating even when they didn't understand even a word of what their teacher said.
As they kept debating whether they were stupid or just tired from all the assignments of the week, their phone suddenly vibrated in their pocket, making them quickly turn the screen on to see who was talking to them, finding a text from none other than their boyfriend, Cater.
‘Heeey, baby! What time do you get out of class?'
‘Like in 15 minutes, why?’
‘Nothing, I just want to see you<3’
“Pup, perhaps my class is interrupting the conversation on your cell phone? Or can I continue with it?” Crewel’s Stern voice made the Prefect leave their phone down, their gaze immediately going up to meet the frowning expression of their teacher.
“Yes, I apologize. Please continue sir, it won’t happen again.”
“That’s what I expected. Well, as I was saying…”
Soon enough, the bell rang to signal the end of the class, and the beginning of the lunch hour. The Prefect packed their things, leaving the classroom promptly along with Ace, Deuce and Grim, immediately encountering Cater as soon as they got out of the salon.
“We’ll meet you at the cafeteria.” Ace mumbled, already walking away to avoid watching how 'lovey-dovey', as he said, Cater became in the presence of the Prefect.
“Oh, Cater, how are you doing? I didn’t think you’d come to pick me up to my class.” The magicless student commented, smiling happily as the Heartslabyul third-year pressed a soft kiss to their lips.
“Like I said, I just really wanted to see you.” He replied chuckling, suddenly looking as if he remembered something. “It’s been quite cold these days, so I thought I might bring this for my lovely partner.”
“Is that your sweater?” The Prefect asked, as their boyfriend extended the red cardigan he usually wore back at his dorm, which was adorned by an embroidery of his characteristic diamond figure. As he nodded enthusiastically, the Ramshackle student promptly took off their blazer to replace it with the softness of the sweater.
“You look sooo cute, darling. I knew you’d look gorgeous with it.” The third year spoke cheerfully, but (Y/n) was able to spot something different about his demeanour, even if they couldn’t think about what was it exactly. “Let’s take a picture!” He suggested cheerily, quickly taking his phone out to take a quick selfie that probably would end up on his Magicam page.
“Does the picture look good?”
“Of course, stunning as always, darling! But the boys are probably still waiting for you at the cafeteria, don’t make them wait for too long. See you after class?”
“Yeah, I’ll text you when I finish my last class.” They bid goodbye briefly, and then the Ramshackle student resumed their way towards the cafeteria.
“Henchman, you smell weird.” Was the first thing Grim told them as soon as they seated at their usual spot at the table, making (Y/n) curious.
“You think? It’s probably because of Cater’s sweater, he wears a lot of perfume sometimes.” They mumbled nonchalantly, taking out their lunchbox to grab the sandwich they prepared beforehand.
“I don’t think he puts that much on his clothes, usually.” Deuce mumbled in between as he ate.
“Maybe he just felt like it today, who knows.” The magicless student settled the topic, as they quickly started to talk about other things, their lunch going as usual.
Not long after that, they came back to the classroom to attend their last class of the day, but as the Prefect went to their usual seat, they found a messily folded note on their desk.
‘Meet me outside the botanical garden after class.’
The rest of their classes went smoothly, as (Y/n) successfully managed to prevent Grim from falling asleep between lessons and prevented Ace from being discovered by Trein, as he was playing games on his phone instead of paying attention.
As the class finished, the Prefect told Ace and Deuce to go without them, asking them if they could watch Grim for a while as they had some errands to do, and after some negotiation (promising food to them if they accepted), they took the small beast as the Ramshackle student texted their boyfriend that they’ll take a bit longer before being free, but suggesting to meet at the courtyard later.
Then, they walked towards the botanical garden, as the note asked. The magicless student was well aware that it probably was some sort of joke of maybe someone wanting to ask them a favour, but either way, their curiosity got the best of them, motivating them to go anyway.
“Prefect, you actually came.” They heard a voice when they arrived at the Botanical Garden. As they turned around to see who was speaking, they were quick to recognize a first-year beastman from Savannaclaw. He was a dorm mate of Jack, they remembered, as he was one of the few students from that dorm who weren’t straight-up rude towards them at first.
“Well, you requested me for me to be here.” They mumbled, walking towards the student to talk properly.
“Yes, that’s because I-” The student interrupted himself, his demeanour suddenly changing when (Y/n) was close to observe the frown on his face, his features showing sudden distress and maybe even a tint of disappointment.
“Is there something the matter?” (Y/n) questioned with a confused expression, watching the beastman clear his throat as if regaining his composure, looking away from them.
“I...I apologize for making you come all the way here, I just wanted to ask you for your History of Magic notes, if you could lend them to me for a few days.”
“Oh, of course, I’ve got no problem with that.” The Ramshackle student answered nonchalantly, even if they felt like that wasn’t the reason they were called for. “That was all?”
“Yes, thank you for your time.”
“You finished your errands?” The third-year asked with his usual smile, as he extended his arms towards the Prefect, who nodded as an answer, extending their own arm to lace their hands together. “Anything…interesting happened?”
“Don’t worry, just remind me to give you my notes for the next class. See you.” They bid him goodbye as they walked back towards the main building, specifically the courtyard, where they spotted a certain redhead immediately.
“Not really, why?”
“Nothing, I was just curious.”
They started to walk towards the hall of mirrors, as they usually spent time in Cater’s room after class, sometimes watching movies, studying or even taking a nap, when the day was too tiring.
“Your errands surely must have been exhausting to you, sweetheart. Did you see someone unexpected around?” He asked one more time, still with his usual relaxed voice, even if it didn’t match the slight stiffness on his hand.
“You’re being awfully curious today, Cater. Is there any possibility you want to ask me something in particular?” (Y/n) questioned, stopping their walk so they could stand in front of their boyfriend.
“Hm, not really, darling, why would I?” He reassured, his smile adorning his features as if to mask his nervous demeanour.
“We’ve talked about this quite a lot already, my love, if you want to tell me something, you can do it.” The Prefect mumbled, moving their hand towards his arms to offer support.
“…Well, there might be a tiny little thing I might have heard today.”
“Did you?”
“Nothing serious, really! I probably misheard, so let’s go to Heartslabyul already-”
“I want to know what you heard.” (Y/n) stated, their voice steady but genuine, making Cater sigh.
“Well, maybe I heard some Savanaclaw first-years talking on my way to class. And mayyybe, just maybe, I heard one of them telling his friend that he’d…maybe, confess to you today.” He muttered the last part with a lower voice, which didn’t match the relaxed expression on his face that the Prefect recognized to be forced.
“…Did you hear anything about the Botanical Garden?”
“…Maybe.”
“Well, that explains some things.” The Prefect sighed, recalling briefly their encounter with the Savannaclaw first-year merely minutes ago, until they realised something. “Is that why you gave me your sweater today?” They frowned slightly, not mad at all, and mostly just curious, but quickly confirming their theory as Cater’s face suddenly seemed startled.
They should have known by the way the poor boy seemed so disappointed when they got close enough for him to catch on the smell from the sweater that was obviously not theirs, but it had been ignored by them until now.
“Wait there, can’t a boy give their sweater to their partner on a cold day? Geez, I wanted to be nice, darling.”
“A sweater that was conveniently showered in your perfume, that would conveniently make a beastman know that I’m already dating someone? Quite a way to mark territory, besides all the pictures you post of me on your Magicam.” (Y/n) commented, chuckling after they saw Cater’s cheeks blush slightly.
“…That first-year doesn’t even have Magicam, how was he even supposed to know you already have a lovely boyfriend, hm?”
“I could have told him, if he had tried to confess.” They responded immediately, taking his hand. “I’m more than capable of pushing people away if they try to go after me, I’ll tell them right away that I have the most cute and caring boyfriend in this entire school, okay? Even if he gets a bit anxious sometimes.” They reassured, as Cater looked away.
“I’m sorry if it seemed like I was doubting that you could do so.”
“Don’t worry, I get it. Just talk to me and it’ll be fine.” The Prefect smiled softly as the third-year nodded, promptly moving his arm to involve them in a brief hug, that seemed to comfort him. “Now, we still have the rest of the evening to relax, don’t we? Let’s go to Heartslabyul before the boys go drop Grim at Ramshackle.”
“Haha, okay, okay. What kind of movie do you want to watch?”
“A romantic comedy!”
Cater gazed at them for a few seconds, observing the brightness of their smile and the affection that their eyes held when looking at him, making him wonder how he was lucky to find someone so understanding of him. A lot of people would compliment him and praise him on his Magicam posts, but only one spoke to him genuinely and out of love.

Jade Leech has got his eyes on you for two weeks now.
At first, it only happened when you were in the hallways, but you didn't think much of it because, there were a lot of students, why would he be looking at you?
Then it was at the cafeteria when you were surrounded by your first-year friends, but that meant nothing because they were pretty loud, there were a lot of reasons why he could be staring.
But then it happened at the library when it was just Grim and you, which was weird, but perhaps he was looking at your little friend, maybe finding ways to blackmail him into working at Mostro Lounge again.
You've made a lot of excuses about it, thinking that it'd be narcissistic to believe he was solely staring at you, but now, as you are seated at one of the few benches that were around the Botanical Garden, with Jade only a few meters away, you could feel his gaze piercing you.
And it was fucking scary.
He worked casually on some annotations as he looked at a few mushrooms in the area, which made you wonder how seemed to be deeply focused on it while still managing to feel like he was staring at your soul.
'I was just looking for a peaceful place to study, Great Seven.'
You sighed, already tired of such attention upon you, which only fuelled the frustration you already felt due to that damn alchemy assignment you couldn't do properly.
Once again doing the assignment incorrectly, you turned towards where your pencil case was lying, looking for an eraser.
"You did the third step wrongly."
The voice of vicehousewarden echoed through the garden, as you lifted your face to observe him, realising he was staring at the mushrooms instead of you, making you wonder how he was even able to see your notebook from so far.
“Thank you, I’ll correct it when I get back to my dorm.” You answered trying to be polite, an awkward smile on your expression, as you grabbed your pencil case to start packing up your things, instead of just grabbing the eraser. You had enough of that psychological torture already.
“A pity that you’re leaving so soon, Prefect.” He commented as you got up from your seat.
“Yeah, I’ve to run some errands today. Goodbye, Jade.”
“Goodbye, good luck with your errands.” The vicehousewarden spoke with his usual mischievous smile, as if he knew you’d go home straight away after leaving the Botanical Garden, away from his prying eyes.
What the hell was wrong with him…?
⤿
⤿
You wished that was the last time you were under the petrifying gaze of Jade Leech, but as usual for your luck, it wasn’t. In fact, you already had started to get used to it. This was Night Raven College, having a second-year student stare at you like a predator to his prey probably wasn’t even on your top five of the strangest things you’ve gone through ever since you arrived.
"Do you think Trein's going to put the class of this week into the next test?" Deuce questioned, as you walked along him, Ace walking behind with Grim. All of the classes of the day were already finished, and Deuce offered his room to finish one of the group homework that Crewel assigned last week.
"I think he said he would." Ace answered, balancing Grim on one of his shoulders.
"You both talk like you'll study for the test, how cute." You commented, chuckling softly, your laugh stopping immediately as out of nowhere, Jade appeared in front of you.
"Prefect, it's nice to see you." The vicehousewarden greeted, ignoring the panicked expression of the Heartslabyul first-years beside you. "I was wondering if you'd come to Mostro Lounge tomorrow, after class." He questioned politely.
"Tomorrow...? At Mostro Lounge?" The question escaped your lips, as your mind wondered what he could want from you.
"Yes, that's what I said." He reassured, his smile more insistent than usual.
"Yeah, sure..." You answered, mostly out of uneasiness, considering how widely known was around the school about the terrors of those who made the Leech Twins get annoyed.
"Wonderful, I'll wait for you, please be punctual." The second-year remarked, before turning around to continue his walk.
...
"Prefect, did you get into a deal with Azul?!"
"What the hell did you do wrong?! Messing with Octavinelle is awful, man...You're probably working at Mostro Lounge for at least 2 months."
"But I didn't do anything!" You excused yourself immediately.
"You didn't...? Then why did Jade ask you to go to Mostro Lounge?"
"I've got no idea..." You mumbled, sighing in exasperation. First the stares, and now this...
"Maybe you did something without noticing." Deuce suggested with a nervous tone.
"If that's the case, you're screwed, Prefect. Good luck with that, we'll visit you at your shifts at Mostro Lounge."
"Thanks for the support, boys." You commented sarcastically.
⤿
⤿
This was it, the moment of truth.
You walked through the doors of Mostro Lounge, your expression as confident as you could, even if you were behind scared. You wondered all day what exactly you did to be stalked by Jade Leech and then asked to come to his dorm, because there surely was an explanation for it. Still, when it came to Octavinelle's vicehousewarden, you knew it was safer to wonder rather than be involved with him.
"You arrived perfectly on time." Was the first comment from the second-year student as soon as they arrived. "Please follow me." He indicated the way towards a more secluded room of the Mostro Lounge, which you followed without complaint. You were already there, might as well you could try your best not to bother him.
As he stood in front of you, you wondered once again why could he ask you to come talk to him, perhaps it was Grim who got into a problem, maybe he wanted to blackmail you, or he even could want to persuade you into making a deal with-
"I asked you to come because I had a question for you, so I apologize if it was inconvenient for you at all." He started, your body getting stiff, as if getting ready for a fight. "I was wondering if you perhaps wanted to go on a hike with me this weekend?"
...
"A hike, you say?" You asked, startled, as he nodded. "You mean, just the two of us?" That was bad, wasn't it? What if he wanted to take you to a lonely place to make you disappear or something of the sort?
"Yes, just the two of us." He replied. "Or at least, that was what the book suggested-"
"What book?" You questioned, confused.
"Ah, just a book I read about human custom. It said humans usually liked dates on open spaces, or where they could do activities outdoors. Perhaps you aren't the kind of person that likes them? I could come up with other kinds of ideas indoors, if you'd like." The vicehousewarden explained, his voice steady as usual.
'Did he say date...?'
"No, I do like being outside and all of that, it's just that...You asked me to come here to ask me out?"
"Yes. My previous plans didn't seem to be working, so I figured it'd be best to approach you directly."
"What previous plans?"
"Well, the book explained that humans usually express interest through eye contact, is that correct?" The second-year questioned with a genuine expression that almost seemed adorable.
"Eye-contact...? Well, uhm..." You mumbled, wondering when you ever made eye contact with Jade at all. Wait. "You mean, like the times when you stared at me in class?"
"Indeed, was it effective?"
"It certainly caught my attention, for sure..." You mumbled, relieved to learn that his intentions seemed to be way less dangerous than you thought at first.
"I'm glad to hear that. Then, would you like to join me for a hike?"
You considered his words for a second, wondering whether it'd be a good idea or not. But after so much time being chased by his gaze, and so many hours thinking about the reason behind it, you considered a date wouldn't hurt, wouldn't it? He had perseverance, at least.
"I'd love to join you, Jade."
"I'm glad to hear that." He chuckled softly, surprising you with how cute he actually looked when he didn't stalk you through school hours.
"Jade."
"Yes?"
"From now on, if you want to learn about human customs, just ask me, okay?"
"In that case, I'll be more than pleased to be your student, Prefect." He replied, the small smile still on his face as he looked at you with his mismatched eyes.
Well, perhaps you wouldn't mind being the one staring at him now.

“Azul?”
“Yes, angelfish?”
“How come I’ve never held your hand?”
“We’ve held hands dear, multiple time already.”
“Of course, but I mean, without your gloves on.”
“Oh…”
(Y/n) laid on one of the sofas of Mostro Lounge’s VIP room, a book on their hands that they were supposed to read for their History of Magic, which was now left behind as they were more interested in Azul’s answer. As usual, the housewarden was on his desk, working on some contracts, promptly leaving his pen down to focus his attention on the magicless student.
The couple had been together for a few weeks now; enough time for Azul to get used to sharing his time, but not enough to openly speak his mind without filter.
“Well…I guess we’ve never had the opportunity to do so.” He replied after thinking about it for about seconds.
“How about now?” The Prefect asked, leaving their book on a table nearby, resting their elbows on the armrest of the sofa to look at housewarden more properly, being able to observe the delicate reddish tone that made its way to adorn his cheeks.
“Aren’t you supposed to be studying?”
“And you’re supposed to be working, yet you’re indulging me, so don’t make excuses.” They chuckled softly, observing Azul for a moment, before frowning slightly. “Perhaps I didn’t consider that you may be uncomfortable by the sensation of someone touching your skin. Do you have hands, when you’re on your octopus form?” The Prefect asked genuinely.
“Of course, I do! Why are you even asking that?” Azul answered immediately, his voice an octave higher due to how absurd their question seemed to be.
“Because I’ve never seen your octopus form and I’m not even from this world, there’s no way for me to know.” They explained nonchalantly. “The Coral Sea culture is as unknown for me as the land culture was for you at first.”
“I’ll let you know that I’m very knowledgeable in land culture, dear.” The Octavinelle second-year defended himself, a slight frown on his face.
“Last time we went into town we saw a bunny and you asked me if it was a dog. You may be smart, but you don’t know everything.” They laughed, this time a bit louder, offending Azul even more. “But we weren’t talking about that. So, if you have hands in your merman form, is it because mermen don’t usually hold hands directly? Or is it that you aren’t used to the sensation of something touching your skin?”
“No, they do hold hands in the same way humans do.” The second year explained. “And I’ve been on land for a while, now, so I’m very accustomed to the sensation of touching things directly without gloves.” He answered their second question.
“Then why don’t you want to hold hands now?”
“Well, that’s….” Azul mumbled, fixing his glasses as a way to partially cover his face to prevent the Prefect from being able to see the embarrassment on his expression. This only increased (Y/n)’s curiosity, making them wonder of the reasons, until something popped up on their mean.
“You…you’ve never had someone hold your hand before, haven’t you?”
“Nonsense! I…”
“I’ll take that as a yes.” The Ramshackle student declared, Azul’s face being enough evidence for them. They got up from the sofa to take a seat on the chair in front of Azul’s desk, finding the merman avoiding eye contact with them. “It’s okay if you haven’t, you know?”
“As far as I’m concerned, people around my age should be expected to have more experience at this, so forgive me for my lack of it.”
“I don’t care about that; I hope you know it.” (Y/n) answered tenderly, extending their arm to softly angle Azul’s face so they could look at them. “Besides, it would be nice to do it for the first time, wouldn’t it?”
“I guess you’re right…”
“Can I?” They questioned, this time signalizing his hand, as he nodded. Then, the Prefect gently took his hand, one of their own delicately holding his wrist as the other removed the glove carefully with a slow pace, occasionally glancing at him.
If there was anything (Y/n) had learned about Azul in the past weeks, it was that he was far more delicate than he let others see, his vulnerable side being more difficult for him to expose, even in front of them, as it was too early. Perhaps, in a year or two, they would talk casually about more intimate matters, but for now, this was enough, one step at a time.
“Well, this is rather nice.” Azul mumbled, and the Prefect could only chuckle softly, lightly squeezing his hand as an answer.
“Your hands seemed to be very soft-Oh!” (Y/n) started calmly, trying not to rush Azul, getting surprised when he was the one who actually took their hand as soon as they removed the glove. His fingers laced their own fingers gently but quickly, as he was expectant to experience the sensation.
“Is it like you expected?”
“I’d say it’s better than I thought.” He answered. “Now I understand why so many couples seemed to have their hands glued to each other when they walked together, back in the town…”
“Yeah, maybe we could try that.” They suggested, promptly raising both of their hands a bit higher, so they could place a kiss upon the back of his hand, watching the housewarden blushing immediately. “Too much?”
“No…But I’m considering that perhaps, I should wear my gloves less when you’re around.”
“You have such nice ideas sometimes.”
They stayed in the same position for a few moments, changing the topic of conversation, as (Y/n) occasionally caressed the side of his hand with their thumb, Azul eventually relaxing at the contact, his paperwork next to him being left on the past, his attention solely focused on his loving partner.
“The next step maybe could be you showing me your octopus form?”

Sleepovers at Ramshackle started as something casual. It only happened a few times every month, maybe the day after an overblot, as a way to make (Y/n) some company after difficult days. However, after some time, they became more regular, and more crowded.
At first, it was only Deuce and Ace. Then Jack joined, then Epel, Ortho, and somehow, even Sebek started to assist, under the excuse that Silver guarded Malleus back at Diasomnia, whereas he was in charge of guarding Ramshackle in case Malleus decided to visit Ramshackle at night, as he usually did (Malleus never went when the Prefect informed him that they were going to have a sleepover with the first-years).
They usually played video games, watched movies or just talked about school stuff. Like they did now, as they were reunited at the lounge of Ramshackle; Ace, Deuce and Epel laying on some makeshift beds that were on the ground, the Prefect sitting on one of the sofas with Grim, Sebek and Jack on the other sofa nearby, and Ortho sitting happily on one of the chairs of the room.
“Did y’all know that Rook’s partner from the Science club broke up with his girlfriend?” Epel commented, as he ate some chips out of a now half-empty bag.
“Epel, don’t you think it’s quite inappropriate to talk about other people’s personal life?” Jack questioned.
“Uuuuh, you’re talking about that one guy from Scarabia?” Ace asked right away, promptly ignoring Jack’s words.
“Yeah, that one.” The Pomefiore student nodded. “You think he cheated or something?”
“It’s kinda mean to suggest that.” Deuce commented. “…But I heard that his girlfriend found some messages from another girl on the past holidays.”
“If that’s the case, he should be punished for tarnishing his dorm’s reputation with such immoral behaviour.” This time was Sebek who joined.
“They didn’t break up because of that, though.” The Prefect clarified. “It was because he did terrible on his last exams, and his girlfriend told him through the phone, and I quote, ‘she wouldn’t date a dumb loser’, something like that.”
“How do you even know that?” Ace was quick to question.
“I was at Scarabia when the girl called him, she was loud enough to be heard even if he didn’t have the volume up.” They replied nonchalantly, as they accommodated the blanket that covered Grim and them, as the small beast complained that he was feeling cold.
“What were you doing at Scarabia either way?” The Pomefiore first-year asked as he reached for another bag of chips.
“Oh, about that…” The Prefect murmured, now wondering if this was the time to tell them. After all, this was one of the few times when all of their friends were reunited in a place without other students around, and they probably would notice at some point, if they hadn’t noticed already. “Now that we’re talking about that, there’s something I’ve got to tell you.”
“Oh, really? Do tell us, Prefect.” Ortho encouraged, moving his chair to hear them more clearly.
“Well, I waited a little bit before telling all of you because we decided to be more discreet for now, but I think is best for you to hear it from me rather than someone else.” (Y/n) started, as the rest of first-years looked at them expectantly. “I’m dating someone.”
For a few seconds, silence prevailed over the room, no visible reaction out of their friends, until Ace suddenly yelled triumphantly.
“I knew you were dating Kalim! Pay up, Deuce!” He immediately turned towards his dormmate to collect their bet.
“Well, congrats Prefect, good for you-“
“What? I’m not dating Kalim!” The magicless human was quick to correct. “I’m dating Jamil!”
Another silence.
And then, Ace’s loud laugh.
“C’mon Prefect! You don’t have to lie.”
“It’s okay if you have a crush on him or something, but you shouldn’t pressure yourself to say such things…”
“We can help you if you want to look for someone else, though.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” (Y/n) questioned discomposed by their friends’ comments, probably more upset at the fact that they weren’t mocking them, and their suggestions seemed genuine, for some reason.
“Please don’t be offended.” Deuce tried to reassure them. "It’s not that you’re ugly or unattractive, I think you’re very nice and pretty. It’s just that…”
“Jamil is…Jamil, y’know?” Ace complemented Deuce’s comment. “I see him a lot at practice, he just doesn’t seem the kind to date someone.”
“Yeah, besides isn’t he like, busy all day with his dorm stuff?”
“Jamil is a very diligent vicehousewarden and a dedicated guardian to Kalim, a relationship would only distract him from his duties!”
“Idia says that he could probably beat him in a competition of who sleeps less, it would be incredible if he managed to be in a relationship even with how tired he probably is.”
“I think you are exaggerating…But I agree he doesn’t look like the kind of person to be in a relationship.”
“His food is really good! You should invite him over more frequently.”
“That’s not the point of the conversation, Grim.” The Prefect sighed, wondering when they thought this would be a good idea. “I’m not saying I like him; I’m saying I’m dating him. Like, we already went through all the confessing part and stuff, he’s my boyfriend!” They stared at their group of friends. “You don’t believe me, don’t you?” They asked with a deadpan expression.
“I’d never call you a liar.” Jack answered immediately. “But it is hard to think about it…”
“Even you, Jack, I can’t believe this.” The magicless human sank onto the sofa, offended that none of them could imagine them dating Jamil. They knew he was handsome and committed to his responsibilities, but c’mon, they were the Prefect of Ramshackle, the one who survived multiple overblots, who built their dorm from scratch and managed to stay sane (lowkey) on a world that wasn’t even theirs. It wasn’t difficult to put some respect to their name, wasn’t it?
“You’re all bad friends and I hate you all.” They mumbled as they covered themselves with the blanket with a dramatic demeanour. “Even Grim was more supportive than all of you.”
“You were?” Ace frowned towards the direction of the little beast.
“He makes nice meals and always brings my henchman food for lunch! He’s not that bad, he brought the great Grim a tuna can once.”
“It’s not like Grim is the best source of information, though…”
“You know what? I’ve got nothing to prove to you.” (Y/n) got up abruptly, the offended expression still adorning their face. “You will see it by yourselves soon enough.”
“Sure, Prefect, if that makes you sleep better at night.”
“One more word and I’ll kick all of you out of my dorm.”
⤿
⤿
“What class do we have after this?”
“Shared gym class with Vargas.”
“Great, I’ll have to listen to Sebek screaming for an hour more than usual.”
“I’ll let you know I speak on a perfectly decent volume! You humans just have weak ears!”
“Great Sevens, have mercy on me…”
The group of first-years walked on the main hallway, already on their way to their next class, when the Prefect caught a glimpse of a certain vicehousewarden who seemed to be walking towards another classroom.
‘This is my chance to prove them wrong.’
“Jamil, hey!” The magicless human separated from the group to get close to the Scarabia student, who looked at them as soon as they heard their voice. “How are you-“
“I’m very sorry my love, I’ve got a test with Crewel in less than five minutes, I’ll talk to you later.” He walked past quickly with an apologetic voice tone, leaving the Prefect started as they watched him disappear promptly at the end of the hall.
As they stood there, even now far away from their group of friends, they could hear Ace’s snickering, the sound even more prominent as they walked back with them. After all, they were close enough to see how the vicehousewarden turned them down, but not close enough to hear the fondness of Jamil’s voice or the pet name.
“Very romantic, Prefect.”
“Shut up.”

The cafeteria buzzed with the sound of multiple chats of the many tables filled with students from different dorms all around the place. (Y/n) arrived at the table where Ace, Epel, Ortho and Sebek were waiting for them, as Deuce and Jack hadn’t finished their club practice yet. As they sat next to them, their phone suddenly buzzed.
Jamil: ‘I brought you lunch’
Me: ‘I can bring my own meal, you know? I’m not that irresponsible’
Jamil: ‘A meal better than curry?’
Me: ‘…I want you to know that I really love you.’
Jamil: ‘I’m on the tables next to the windows, come quickly’
“I’ll be back in a minute.” The magicless human notified their friends, as they made their way towards the table where Scarabia student was waiting for them.
“Hey handsome, how did you do on Crewel’s test?” The Prefect asked right away, discreetly taking his hand to squeeze lightly as a greeting.
“It was good, I just got late after running some errands in the morning.” He sighed, squeezing their hand back, and then softly dropping it to take the extra lunchbox he brought. “Here, take it.”
“Thank you, Jamil, I really appreciate it.”
“It was nothing, I hope you like it.”
“You cooked it, of course I will. You’ve got practice today after class, don’t you?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Nothing, just asking. See you later.” They turned back, ready to go back to their table with their friends.
‘Heh, now I can show the guys that my beautiful boyfriend brought me a fantastic lunch-'
“Hey stop that! If you’re not careful I’ll-AH, Oh, I’m very sorry!” Suddenly, a first-year from another class crashed against them. “I’m so so sorry, my friend here was bothering me and I- Great Sevens, your lunch!”
Well, now the lunch made by their beautiful boyfriend lay on the ground, and (Y/n) could only stare at it with a deadpanned expression.
“You’re okay?” Jamil rushed to their side, promptly checking if they were hurt by the other student.
“Yeah, but the lunchbox…”
“I can pay for your lunch! I really apologize.” The first-year spoke again. (Y/n) had seen him a few times before, and they knew he wasn’t a bad guy, his only crime was being a bit clumsy and having annoying friends. They had that in common, perhaps.
“No, don’t worry, it's alright.” They commented with a dismissive expression.
“I can give you part of my lunch, if you want.” The vicehousewarden was quick to offer.
“It’s fine, like I said before, I brought my lunch as well. Besides, curry is your favourite. I’ll see you after class.”
“Alright, have a nice meal.”
“You too.”
They turned around and came back to their seat, this time without the lunchbox between their hands, sitting on their spot as they stared at the table.
They, in fact, forgot to bring their own lunch.

Two classes and one-half of a sandwich that Epel gave them later, it was finally the end of the day. It was tiring, but at least it was Friday, which usually meant that a sleepover would take place at Ramshackle, but this time, the boys wanted to try a new video game in which (Y/n) had no interest, so the sleepover would be moved to Heartslabyul, leaving the Prefect a night to rest.
After making a quick stop by the cafeteria, they walked towards the gym, where the basketball practice took place. There, (Y/n) could spot Jamil right away, near the benches. As they entered the room, they greeted other students briefly, noticing then Ace chatting with other first-years in the middle of the court.
‘Maybe this could be a good opportunity to show him he was wrong…’
“It’s good to see you, my love. Did you enjoy your lunch?”
“Yeah, it was very…delicious.” The prefect answered with an awkward smile. “Are you busy after practice?”
“Not really.” He answered, making (Y/n) look at him curiously. “Kalim came back to Scalding Sands for the weekend, for an important family gathering, and he requested for me to stay here.”
“Really? Did he say why he did it?”
“...No.”
“How strange, because Kalim told me last week how happy he was to give you a free weekend to spend with me.” The Ramshackle student teased with a smile. Ever since he found out they were dating (which was like two days after they got together), he seemed so excited for Jamil that (Y/n) could swear that he was probably waiting to organize their wedding right away.
“…Yeah, very unusual. Don’t think much about it.” The vicehousewarden dismissed the topic, a faint blush on his face.
“Well, considering that, would you like to come to Ramshackle tonight? Grim is staying a Heartslabyul, so we could watch a movie or something like that. Only if you want, of course.”
“Yeah, sounds good to me.”
“It’s settled, then.” They smiled at him. “Practice is probably going to start soon, so I should leave. See you at Ramshackle at 6?”
“I’ll be there.” Jamil looked around for a few seconds, before towards them to leave a soft and brief kiss on their lips as a way to say goodbye.
The Prefect stood in their place for a few seconds, dumbfounded, as Jamil walked away nonchalantly towards where the rest of the team was. They had kissed before, but it wasn’t often in public, due to Jamil’s reserved nature, so it was surprising for them.
‘Take that, Ace!’
They walked happily towards the exit, until the figure of a certain first-year appeared through the door.
“Ace? Weren’t you here already?”
“Yeah, but I had to refill my water bottle. Why are you here, anyway?”
“Well, I…” They mumbled, until they suddenly realised. “Wait, you didn’t even see?!”
“See what?” The Heartslabyul student asked, genuinely confused.
“You know what? I don’t care anymore.” (Y/n) sighed, walking away from the gym, and leaving his friend confused at their change of demeanour.
⤿
⤿
“So, they don’t believe you?”
“Yeah, and you haven’t been cooperative either.”
Jamil and (Y/n) chatted as they prepared to go to sleep. They had already spent the evening watching movies and talking, and after Jamil had made dinner for the both of them, they realised how dark was outside. This motivated (Y/n) to suggest that it was too late and too far for Jamil to walk alone back to his dorm (It was 11 pm and it was a 15-minute walk), so he should just stay the night.
They were already lying on bed, just talking, when (Y/n) remembered the dilemma that had bothered them for the past few days and started to narrate his failed attempts to demonstrate to their friends that they were, in fact, incredible enough to date Jamil.
“I didn’t know I had to cooperate in the first place, so that should excuse me.”
“You literally walked past me when I wanted to talk to you.”
“I was late.”
“The boys mocked me for the rest of the day!” (Y/n) complained, plopping their head onto Jamil's chest to prove their frustration. “I can’t believe they don’t think I’m capable of dating you.”
“If it’s making you uneasy, I could talk to them-“
“That would be even more embarrassing.” They sighed. “I gave up. If they don’t want to believe me, it’s up to them.”
“I don’t get them, though. I thought I was obvious, back then when I started to like you, so I believed that your friends would notice.”
“You had too much faith in them. Besides, you weren’t obvious, even I didn’t notice.”
“I tutored you for Trein’s class and I helped you manage your dorm.”
“And?”
“That's a lot more of anything that I’d do for anyone else that wasn’t you.” The vicehousewarden threw one of his arms around (Y/n), who answered by nuzzling closer to him.
“Yeah, you may have a point there.” They replied, yawning as they started to feel the exhaustion get to them. “Can you believe they thought I was dating Kalim at first?” They commented lightly, suddenly feeling Jamil’s body stiffen.
“…They did?” He questioned, a frown on his face, receiving a quiet ‘Mhm’ as an answer. “…I think it would be okay if we started to be less discreet.”
“It wouldn’t make you uncomfortable?”
“Well, holding hands wouldn’t be so bad, right.” The Scarabia student replied, trying to sound nonchalantly. “Besides, it would keep your friends away from incorrect and wrong suppositions.”
“It’s fine by me.” The Prefect mumbled, once again yawning. “But we should sleep already, I’m tired.”
“Goodnight then, my love.”
“Goodnight dear.”

“Prefeeeeect, we’ve brought you cat!”
“Leave me on the ground! I can walk by myself!”
“You went to the kitchen at 4 am and Riddle caught you, I’m not leaving you until (Y/n) gets you back. I’m getting collared if I don’t!”
“The great Grim was just hungry!”
“Ace, the Prefect is probably sleeping, I don’t think they’ll open the door at this hour.” Deuce mumbled, ignoring Grim's complaints.
“Fine, let’s just leave him in their room.”
The three of them opened the door to the dorm, the interior still cold due to how early it was, the ghosts nowhere to be found yet, even as they made their way through the stairs.
“(Y/n), sorry to bother you, Riddle sent us to drop Grim by and- Ace, isn’t that Jamil?!”
“What are you saying, why would he be here at this hour- Wow, yeah that’s him!”
The duo didn’t even bother to keep their voices low, causing (Y/n) to stir up due to the sudden noise, making them sit down on the bed a few seconds later to look for the source of such scandal.
“Ace…? Deuce…? What are you doing here...” They mumbled, interrupting themselves with a yawn. “What happened to your sleepover?”
“That’s not the point right now, what’s Jamil doing here?!”
“Well, he-“
“My love, what’s with all the noise…?” This time was the vicehousewarden who woke up, tiredly sitting on the bed, until he realized they had company. A company that now was looking at him like he grew two heads.
“Did he just call the Prefect…?”
“Yes, he did.”
“It’s too early for this nonsense.” Jamil mumbled, feeling his cheeks heating up, as he sighed to mask his embarrassment.
“I literally told you two I was dating him like a week ago. Now, I won’t receive Grim before 11 am, so leave my dorm before I call Riddle.” (Y/n) ordered, plopping themselves in the bed to go back to sleep.
“But Riddle said he’d collar us if we didn’t-“
“Not my problem, out of my dorm.”
“But-“
“If you don’t leave right now, I’ll tell Floyd you were the one who ate his snack yesterday.” This time was Jamil who spoke, already annoyed.
“Yeaaah, let’s go Deuce.”
The vicehousewarden sighed once again, coming back to the position he was in as soon as the Heartslabyul students left.
“I’m never speaking to them again.” He mumbled against the Prefect’s hair.
“Why? Because they saw you all soft when waking up?” They teased, chuckling quietly.
“No, because they have no sense of decent hours to wake someone up.”
“Hey, look at the bright side, we don’t have to convince them now.”
“Yeah, whatever, now go back to sleep.”
(Y/n) smiled tenderly, wrapping their arms around the figure of the vicehousewarden.

Loving Vil was like staring at the moon on a starry night. Beautiful, elegant, gracefully glimmering above anything or anyone, surrounded by stars but never being outshined by them. A gentle light that kept them on the right path, and that took care of them tenderly.
But cold, nevertheless. Distant, stern, perfect; a chill running down their spine when they were in his presence, as if they weren’t worthy of admiring him so closely.
The Prefect was well aware of their own flaws, as they were sometimes clumsy, sometimes impulsive, and sometimes too tired at night to worry about a night routine. Seemingly out of place next to Vil, the personification of magnificence, always sharp and confident.
Even so, (Y/n) was able to discover a new side of him, something that wasn’t possible to see through movie premieres and Magicam posts.
They got close after VDC; with the entire situation of his overblot and all of his issues, the Prefect offered their support to him one day, casually offering to listen to him if he ever needed it.
At first, Vil didn’t reach them, but then, on a bad day, he unconsciously walked all the way to Ramshackle. The housewarden of Pomefiore realised that (Y/n)’s kindness was genuine; they hadn’t been in his world for long, they didn’t realise the amount of power and success he had, and instead they saw him for himself. Maybe that was what encouraged him to pursue them in more ways than he intended at first.
He found himself falling in the arms of a magicless human, grasping every new part of them he got to know and cherish each of the sincere compliments they gave him with adoration and care. Holding them close, kissing their worries away, making sure they were healthy and content.
They were doing good, together.
And still, it wasn’t enough.
No matter how much (Y/n) tried to find him, there was always an invisible wall between them.
“We should break up.”
“…What?”
“We won’t work out; you know it as well as me.”
It all started a few days ago. A call from his manager, asking him if he planned to reveal his relationship at some point. Actors with partners lose popularity. They lose roles more often. They lose followers. It usually lasted for a few months, of course, but could Vil risk his downfall? Shouldn’t it be more difficult for him to ever think about leaving the Prefect? Shouldn’t he feel a pang on his chest at the mere thought of not waking up next to them? Shouldn’t he be able to picture himself sharing a future with them?
‘Perhaps this is just a silly romance that will forgotten in a few years. They’ll come back to their world and I’ll continue working as diligently as always.’
“I don’t understand.” The Prefect muttered, looking into Vil’s eyes, searching for doubt or hesitation, a wave of sadness invading them when they found none of it. They felt dizzy, the air of Vil’s room suffocating them as his words settled in their mind.
“It’ll be the best, for the both of us.” The housewarden stated, his words sharp but his voice compassionate. “You have always trusted me, haven’t you?”
“Yes.” They replied immediately.
“Then trust me on this, too.” Vil replied, one of his hands cupping the cheeks of the Prefect. “Let’s be honest, we’re both tired-“
“I’m not.”
“(Y/n).”
“I love you.” They muttered, their voice breaking. Vil was wonderful, supportive, patient, someone they couldn’t image themselves living without, at least in that world where they had no one else. When did they lose him…? “Don’t you love me too?”
“Perhaps that’s not enough for us.”
“It can be, Vil, just let me in. Let me understand you.”
Vil observed them briefly, (Y/n) standing before him as a complete mess that he didn’t find himself capable of fixing. He didn’t have time to play around, nor to introduce them into his world. He had decisions to make.
“I’m not sure you’ll be able to. We’re…different.”
“Are you saying I’m not enough?”
“I’m saying we may be better on our own.”
The Ramshackle student removed his hand from their face, now standing to gaze into his eyes, his message clear in their mind as they realised Vil just didn’t want to deal with them anymore. They weren’t some kind of famous singer or a wealthy artist, they were just themselves. And Vil was Vil.
‘It was bound to happen, at some point’, they thought to reassure themselves.
“I’m not going to beg you for anything else, then.” They stated as firmly as they could, even if the tears on their cheeks could indicate something else. “But I love you sincerely, and you won’t find that easily. I hope you can find what you’re looking for by yourself.”
“I wish you well, (Y/n).”
“I don’t believe in your words anymore, Vil.”

Loving (Y/n) used to be like a bright morning on a sunny day. Warm, inviting, tender towards anyone who could turn towards them, never rejecting the opportunity of lending a hand to whoever needed it. A gentle light that kept him away from the darkest days.
Suffocating, at times, making him wish for the night to arrive just to find solace in the familiar cold.
He believed it’d be more comfortable, going back to his usual starry nights where he shined as brightly as always. The memories of his time with the Prefect going away in no time.
Except that it never happened.
He found himself waking up and looking around for them. At night, he kept in mind to remind the Prefect to clean their face and take care of their skin, only for him to remember that they weren’t staying with him anymore. At school, he didn’t have anyone to hold hands when no one else was looking. At work, he received multiple compliments about his efforts and looks, but none as sincere as (Y/n)’s words.
And (Y/n) seemed to have disappeared from every place he was in.
They were still in Night Raven College, of course, but no matter how much he looked for them or how many times he asked Epel about them, they seemed to do an excellent job at avoiding him.
“You were the one who did this, don’t go after them now.” The first-year replied to him on a particularly stressful day.
He couldn’t believe it; Him? Missing someone he took out of his life by himself? Wishing to be with a person who didn’t belong to this world? Who couldn’t understand him- No, who he didn’t allow to understand him?
Then the holidays began. He went back home, and worked as usual, doing campaigns and assisting events, as glamorous as always, never showing his pain.
“I heard you got the role of the main character for your next role! That’s amazing, you’ve been waiting for this, haven’t you?” An older actress congratulated him in the middle of a charity party, as she seemed to be the best person to spend time amongst so many wealthy people and royals.
“Indeed. I’m very grateful to have this opportunity.” He answered politely.
“I’m excited to see how it’ll turn out- Oh, isn’t that the Prince of Sunset Savana? I haven’t seen him at an event in years.”
“What?”
Vil turned around, easily spotting Leona among so many people, but his attention was soon dragged to something else, or rather, someone else. Someone who walked along him, hand in hand. Someone who used to hold his hand before.
“(Y/n)…” He mumbled unconsciously.
They looked stunning, but it wasn’t as if they were ever bad-looking in the first place. They looked happy, peaceful even when they were surrounded by strangers who seemed as curious as him to know what was his relationship with the prince.
Perhaps Leona’s arm around their waist calmed down in such an unknown environment for them. Or maybe it was the words he whispered in their ear when they seemed to get uncomfortable.
Vil couldn’t even imagine that Leona could be attentive to someone else, but there he was, looking at (Y/n) with love, taking great pride in presenting them as his partner to anyone that asked him, no matter who was it.
“Prince Leona! It’s been so long, how have you been?” The actress that accompanied him asked the beastman as soon as they approached.
“I’ve been doing great, as you can see.” He replied, proudly holding (Y/n)’s hand.
“It’s so nice to know you have found such a beautiful partner, what’s your name, darling?”
“My name is (Y/n), is such a pleasure to meet you.”
“I can say the same! Vil, Leona is your classmate, right? Have you met his partner before?” The woman asked innocently, oblivious to Vil’s irritated mood, even though he tried to mask it.
“Well, we-“
“We meet briefly at Night Raven College, but we’re not really close.” (Y/n) interrupted, as Leona grinned quietly next to them. “And it’s been a nice conversation, but it’s getting quite late, isn’t it?”
“Do you want to leave?” Asked Leona with his regular tone, but even Vil was able to catch a certain fondness that was unusual in him.
“Yes, if that’s okay with you.”
“Of course, Herbivore, let’s go home.”
“Goodbye then.” The Prefect spoke politely, gazing for the last time at him, his eyes now more confident than the last time he was able to look at them. “I hope you’re doing well, Vil.”
‘Well, perhaps I’m still stuck in the role of the villain, after all.'

﹙𖧵ֹֺֽ໋໋݊﹚Jade Leech ❜ ˖ ࣪⊹ ִֶָ
The words “scary” and “unnerving" could be the first thing to come to your mind when you think about Jade, especially now.
You had become more attached to Floyd in the past few months thanks to Ace, as the Octavinelle second-year attended the same club as your friend, which led you to visit him a few times at Mostro Lounge, encountering Jade in the process sometimes.
At first, it was casual, a single greeting when he passed beside the prefect, that’s it.
But then, Jade noticed how unusually excited his brother seemed to be, even more than usual, and he quickly figured out what he was up to.
Jade was delighted to see his brother in good moods more frequently now, knowing that, for once, he seemed committed to dedicating time to the little Shrimpy, as Floyd called you. However, were his brother’s feelings reciprocated? Were you honest with him? Jade would never allow a magicless human to make fun of his brother, even if Floyd was more than capable of deciding that by himself.
So, one evening, as you were looking for his twin, he decided to test your intentions.
⤿
“Good evening, Prefect.”
“Ah, Jade!” The Ramshackle student replied startled, as the vicehousewarden appeared suddenly behind them, out of nowhere. Well, they were in the middle of the Mostro Lounge, so it was expected for Jade to be around, just not that close. “I was looking for Floyd.”
“I thought you’d be here for him. Then, follow me, if you will.”
“Wouldn’t it be better to wait here for him? He usually-“
“Hm, I guess my assumptions about you were wrong if you rejected my offer to see my brother.”
“Assumptions?” They questioned, tilting their head to emphasize their curiosity.
“Would you like me to talk about it here? Where so many people can hear?” The second-year questioned, a trace of amusement in his voice.
“A quiet place would be better, yeah.” (Y/n) replied quickly, sensing the direction of their conversation, this time following Jade to the back of the Mostro Lounge without complaining.
“You have feelings for my brother.” Stated the merman, as soon as they reached a secluded corner, startling (Y/n) with the bluntness of his words.
“What…what takes you to that conclusion?” The prefect questioned nervously, punching themselves mentally for their lack of confidence, a death sentence in front of a Leech twin.
“You have spent a significant amount of time here lately. Sometimes you don’t even order anything, looking content just by staying at the tables to talk to my brother. Humans can be quite predictable sometimes, with that red tone on your cheeks every time Floyd is near, you don’t fool anyone, Prefect.”
“I don’t-“
“You don’t?” Jade remarked immediately, a sly grin on his face, as he looked the Prefect more closely as he spoke. “Perhaps, then, I misunderstood the situation. Could it be that instead of being interested in my brother, you were looking forward to seeing me?” He added, his face now mere inches away from the magicless human.
Close enough for him to use Shock the Heart, now that (Y/n) was distracted-
“You’re incorrect, in that one." The Ramshackle student corrected, slowly trying to sound more confident. “But you were correct earlier. I do like your brother, is there a problem with that?” They blurted out before they could regret it.
Jade smiled even more widely, if that was even possible. This action scared the Prefect even more, if that was even possible.
“Shrimpy, what did you just say? Why are you here with Jade? I’ve looked for you everywhereeee.” Floyd's pouting voice interrupted their conversation, his figure soon appearing in the middle of them.
“How long have you been there?!” The magicless student asked trying to mask their embarrassment.
“Enough to know you like me! C’mon Shrimpy, you’ve let me alone for too long.” Floyd whined, swiftly taking the Prefect between his arms to drag them outside Mostro Lounge.
“Fufu~Seems like Shock the Heart wasn’t necessary after all.”

﹙𖧵ֹֺֽ໋໋݊﹚Floyd Leech ❜ ˖ ࣪⊹ ִֶָ
He’s ecstatic, to say the least.
You started to see his brother more frequently after he offered you a free meal (it was one of his mushroom dishes. He used you as a lab rat, but you didn’t need to know that), which surprisingly, you liked. And then, you asked him where he got the ingredients, allowing Jade to talk for hours.
Floyd always found you interesting, but enduring Jade talking about the different types of mushrooms that could be found in Sage Island for hours? You were a tough one.
Then, Jade started to invite you to hikes frequently. And you spent time at Mostro Lounge. And you spent time at Octavinelle. And you talked to his brother in between classes.
And then, one day after he came back to his dorm after his club, he found you in their shared room as Jade showed you his collection of terrariums, and was the sign Floyd needed to know that Jade was being serious about this.
It seemed like the two of you were starting to fall for each other, which was cool and all that, but…that took too long. It was boring. Whether you were with his brother or not, it was simple.
⤿
“Ya like Jade, don’t you?” Floyd mentioned one day, as both of you walked towards the cafeteria. (Y/n) had decided to accompany Ace to the basketball club, and in the middle of it, Floyd asked them to join him to buy water at the cafeteria. Terrible choice.
“What…what did you say?” The Prefect quickly questioned, wondering if they heard something wrong.
“Yer in love with my brother or something like that?”
“What are you even saying? Haha, I think you’re misunderstanding something here…” They replied trying to look nonchalant, failing miserably as their nervous expression betrayed them immediately.
“You listened to his mushroom talk, you’re not gonna fool me into believing you did it without liking him.”
“Floyd, I-“
“You should confess. Get over it quickly.”
“Sorry? I don’t think I’m ready for-“
“What are you? A coward? Do you think my brother will say no?”
“…Maybe he will.” (Y/n) mumbled after a few seconds, as they saw there was no reason to deny their feelings, as Floyd seemed to have figured out already.
“He showed his terrarium collection, he’s gonna say yes.”
“He has shown them to other people too, you know?”
“Not the ones from his room.” Floyd replied with an obvious expression. “Just do it, Shrimpy.”
“It’s not that easy, Floyd, I’m afraid.” They confessed, sighing.
“I’d say it’s very easy, actually. Look, Jade’s there.” Pointed the second year suddenly, making the Prefect look towards the other side of the hallway, where the vicehousewarden walked calmly. “Hey, Jade, Shrimpy here wants to tell you something!” He called loudly, promptly pushing the magicless student towards his brother.
“Having Shrimpy as a sibling-in-law will be so funny~.”

He’s not subtle. Like, at all.
Now, don’t be mistaken; he’d never reveal Silver’s feelings to you. He knows how to guard his son’s privacy. However, that doesn’t stop him from pointing Silver’s strong traits to you, every single time he can.
It starts small, as you both walk around the halls, passing outside the gym. Did you know physical training was Silver’s best subject? No? How strange, he thought it was nice for you to know.
Then you both greet Riddle on your way to class. He’s in the same club as Silver, you know? He’s very good a it, after all, he has such a nice physical condition, he could carry you easily if you ask him. Why would Silver carry you? No reason in particular, it was just an example, similar to the people that carry their partners, which is just another example, don’t worry.
Until that, you had just answered by nodding at his words, thinking that perhaps Lilia just held Silver in high regard, but then you decided to agree to the compliments.

“How have you been doing in Magical Analysis? Is it too difficult for you?” Lilia asked you one day, as you both drank tea (that you offered to prepare) in the middle of the Diasomnia lounge.
“A little bit, considering that I’m magicless and all that.” Replied the Prefect without much worry.
“That’s a pity. Perhaps Silver could tutor you? He did great in his first year in the subject, in his first test he scored a-“
“Isn’t Sebek like very good at Magical Analysis? I’ve considered asking him for help but perhaps if you tell him he’d be more open to help.”
“…Maybe, he will. However, Silver is very good at teaching, I’m sure he’ll be delighted to be able to help you.”
“I don’t doubt it, after all, he’s very kind.” (Y/n) commented, sipping on their tea.
“Oh, so you think he’s kind?” The Diasomnia vicehousewarden asked, a big smile on his expression.
“…Yeah, that was what I just said.”
“What else?”
“About what?”
“About Silver, what do you think of him?”
“Well…He’s a very nice friend, easy-going, and calm. He’s one of the few people that seem normal, among all the crazy students here.” The Prefect replied honestly.
“Indeed, he’s very charming, don’t you think? Although I don’t see you often around him, I didn’t know you were friends.”
“Usually, we don’t see each other in school. But lately, we’ve talked quite a lot at night. Sometimes, he goes looking for Malleus at my dorm and we stay chatting for a while.”
“Just that?”
“Uhm, we also hang out sometimes after class, he asks me to talk to him when he gets sleepy in the afternoon. Or sometimes he invites me to help him to take care of the little animals that usually follow him.”
“Oooh~I see.” He smiled mischievously. “You talk very fondly of him, dear. Are you sure you two are just friends?”
“Of course, Lilia.” The magicless student replied quickly, chuckling.
“Are you 100% sure?” He questioned again; this time more insistent.
The Prefect remained quiet for a few seconds, surprising themselves when they felt the heat rushing to their cheeks when they thought of Silver, as handsome and gentle as he was.
‘Could it be…?'
“Cat got your tongue, Prefect?”
“No, Lilia, I was just thinking…”
“You can tell me, dear, I swear I won’t tell anyone.”
“Well, it’s just that I…I don’t know if I see him just as a friend.”
“Oh ~ tell me more.”
“Silver has been so attentive and sweet with me…It’d be hard for me not to develop feelings for him, you know?” They mumbled, shyly.
“Of course! Love appears naturally, it’s normal for you to notice until now.” Lilia replied, an overjoyed expression adorning his features. “But it can’t slip away if you don’t do anything about it, Prefect. Perhaps you should be honest with him.”
“You think?”
“I know Silver very well; he’ll listen to you and he’ll know you have good intentions.”
“You may be right, Lilia. I have to go, if you excuse me, I think he’s about to finish his club practice.”
“Good luck, Prefect, I trust you’ll do well.”
Lilia chuckled softly as he saw the Prefect leaving the dorm with a nervous expression but with so much fondness towards his son.

“I can’t believe they did it again…”
“Is something wrong, Prefect?”
“They put olives on my sandwich again.”
The magicless human sighed, as they left their sandwich on the table under the gaze of their first-year friends. Every time they went to the cafeteria they asked for no olives on their sandwich, and every time they would ignore their request. It was getting tiring, by now, but that sandwich was really good and really cheap.
“Haha! Seems like it’s my lucky day. Your misfortune is my blessing.” Ace replied teasingly, grabbing the sandwich to remove the olives and putting them on his meal.
“Seriously, this is getting annoying. It shouldn’t be that difficult not to add something to a sandwich. If I was allergic, I’d be dead by now.”
“The cafeteria is always filled with people, I’m sure they don’t do it on purpose.” Deuce tried to cheer them up.
“If it’s bothering you so much, I could bring you a sandwich for tomorrow-“ Jack offered, but was quickly interrupted by Epel.
“No, you don’t want to do that.” Stated the Pomefiore student.
“Sorry?”
“You can’t bring sandwiches to the prefect.” Replied Epel, this time with a more intense glare, as if that would allow Jack to read his mind and understand the meaning behind his words.
“And that’s because…?”
“The prefect really likes the sandwiches from here. Isn’t that right?” Deuce answered, a smile on his face as he mentally praised himself for his save.
“I guess so.” The Ramshackle student replied without enthusiasm.
“See? We shouldn’t think so much about it. Class will start soon so-“
“My henchmen may prefer the sandwiches from here but I ain’t no sandwich discriminator! You’re all welcome to bring all the sandwiches you want to the great Grim.” Interrupted the small beast, still munching the rest of the food he was focused eating before he got into the conversation.
“Just eat, Grim.”
“Don’t tell me what to do!”

“Oh, that’s unfortunate.” Commented Trey. “The ghosts from the cafeteria are very friendly, perhaps you should just ask.”
The vicehousewarden of Heartslabyul walked next to the prefect of Ramshackle through the halls of the school. They had encountered the third year on their way to meet Deuce and Ace, who were waiting along Grim for the prefect to come out of a brief talk they had with Professor Crewel after class.
“You think so?”
“Yes. I can go with you right now, if you’d like. I’m sure the boys won’t mind waiting a few minutes more.”
“I guess you’re right, let’s go.”
They made their way to the cafeteria, chatting about different topics. As soon as they arrived, they talked to the ghost in charge of meals, getting a curious answer.
“I thought you really liked olives, that’s why I always put a lot of them on your meals. You always work so hard, I thought it’d cheer you up!” Was the reply they received.
“But I never said I liked them…”
“Oh, you didn’t. It was Ace who told me.”
…
“He did?”
“Yeah, and you two seem to be very good friends, so I believed he would be correct.”
The prefect sighed. Of course, Ace did it.
“I’m thankful for your good intentions, but I don’t really enjoy olives, so you can stop putting them on my meals, please.”
“Of course, don’t worry!”
Both students left the room with a confused demeanour, Trey being the first one to ask the question.
“Do you know why he did it?”
“I don’t. To bother me, perhaps, or to get more lives. He always eats them from my sandwiches. He could have just asked for them on his meals instead of mine!” They answered, an annoyed frown adorning their face, which soon turned into a curious one, when they saw the confusion expression on the vicehousewarden’s expression. “Is something the matter?”
“Ace doesn’t like olives, either.”
“What?”
“He has asked a bunch of times to let him know if there are olives in the food, so he won’t eat them.”
“That can’t be. He always seems ecstatic to take them from my sandwiches; I don’t get why-“ They were interrupted by Trey’s laugh.
“Perhaps you should ask him, then.”

“Hey, hey, slow down! You’re gonna break my arm!” A certain first-year complained, as the magicless student brought him to a more secluded area outside the school.
“You’re annoying!”
“Can I at least know why am I being dragged in this way?!”
“You’re ruining my food!”
“I never-“
“Why did you tell the cafeteria ghosts that I like olives? You know I hate them.”
“That’s…because I wanted free olives, that’s it. Don’t think too much about it.”
“Trey said something very different to me, you know…”
Ace’s behaviour changed, his expression screaming ‘I got caught’, as they stop in the middle of the yard, (Y/n) quickly letting go of Ace’s arm.
“…Why did you even ask Trey that?”
“Ace.”
“C’mon, you’re making a big deal out of something very small-“
“Ace.”
“Prefect.”
“Ace.”
“Fine! I’ll tell you!” The first year surrounded quickly. “It was just an accident, okay?”
“An accident? For a month straight?”
“…Well, it was the first two times.” He murmured, looking away. “Like, I think the first time they just forgot and the second time they mixed the orders, I’m not really sure. The cafeteria is just like that sometimes, you know?”
The Ramshackle student just stared at him, a bored expression adorning their face, silently asking him to continue his explanation.
“It’s just that…You seemed…Very annoyed at it.”
“And what about it?”
“…You look very dumb when you’re like that, I just didn’t want to see it anymore.”
“Then why did you tell the ghosts that I-?”
“I didn’t do it on purpose-“
“Ace.”
“Because that way you’d depend on me for it, okay?! That’s it. You happy now?” He confessed, an irritating scowl appearing on his face, which didn’t match the reddish tone on his cheeks.
“That makes no sense-“
“Maybe it would if you weren’t so dense, idiot.”
“Sorry?”
“I can’t believe this, even Deuce noticed and you can’t even think about it.”
“About what?”
The first year sighed loudly, running his hands on his face to demonstrate his exasperation.
“About the fact that I like you! Great Seven, you’re really stupid.”
(Y/n) stood with a surprised expression, quickly thinking about Ace’s words, a sensation of heat reaching their cheeks as soon as they processed what he said, confusion still lingering. Silence settling for a few seconds, until the magicless student broke it with disconcert.
“…You really thought I’d noticed through olives?!”
“I thought you’d realise I’m very kind when I want to!”
“You insult me half of the time, how was even supposed to-!“
“Well then, will you go on a date with me or what?!”
“I will!”
“Fine, it was about time!”
They both stared at each other, still a bit startled from the sudden outburst. As their words settled in, embarrassment took over, both of them turning around to calm down.
“…You’re saying even Deuce knew?”
“I’ve been giving him the olives to him when you weren’t looking for the last week.”
…
“They really taste awful, don’t they?”
“Yeah I don’t wanna see one of them in a long time.”
So this is kind of odd, I haven't posted anything here in so long! I posted a Valentine's Day event last year in January, thinking I was going to have time for it. Turns out, I was busy on vacation and when I came back, university hit me bad enough that I went into hiatus for more than a year, lol. I'm sorry for leaving the event like that.
Either way, now that I finally got used to university (I think), I wanted to motivate myself by doing Inktober this year! Writing, obviously. So that's what I'll be posting this month.
After I finish that, I'll come back to the usual content I had before and I'll upload the asks I had in my drafts (those requests were sent a looong time ago, so once again, I'm very sorry) and other ideas I had before I started med school.
Huge thank you if you're still around after so long!<3

⤿ Heeey everyone!
As Valentine’s day is coming soon, I wanted to make a small event for the occasion, so my requests are mainly open for drabbles/oneshots with the prompts below.
⤿
For requesting please don’t forget:
This event it’s only for Twisted Wonderland characters, and for characters like Grim or Ortho I’ll only write with prompts that can be interpreted as platonic only. For the rest, it’s alright to ask for romantic scenario, you can even specify if you want it to be a pre-relationship story or someting with an established relationship!
⤿
How can I request?:
Brief example <3
“Hello, I wanted to ask for a pre-relationship drabble for Jamil with prompt 26, please!”
