Reminisce | Lysandre&Sycamore
Sycamore barely flinched when Lysandre looked at him like that. He let out a sigh, smiling crookedly. “I’m not going to say I’m not disappointed. More so, how could I ever say I never want to see my best friend again?”
"Ah," He held up a hand, cutting Lysandre off. As he spoke, his smile continued to grow. It didn’t seem like he changed at all, really. "Please don’t apologize. We all hold regrets. One of mine, actually, is that I never got to talk to you before you decided to go. I’m thankful that Calem and Serena had a chance to do so in my place."
" .. You’re alive and well, and I’m also forever thankful for that."
Lysandre was at a loss for words. What could he say? He hardly knew how he should feel. With all the trouble he had caused, and all the pain he had put people through, how could Augustine just let that go? How could he call him his best friend?
Feeling that his emotions were beginning to get the best of him he stood to his feet, his back facing Augustine. "They did nothing to help me! Those children... All they did was ruin my life..." His voice became quiet.
"It should have been you."
