Souvenirs always held a special significance to you, a reminder of cherished memories and past lives. It had been an odd practice the Doctor had picked up with you, always finding new quirky little trinkets he could give you. However, this one may have been a little too specific.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you admired the artwork. The ginger-haired woman sitting beside you, a bit concerned by the salted waters running down your cheeks. She had selected this painting because it reminded her of you, a sentiment the Doctor shared as he helped conceal it as a birthday present.
“Happy birthday (Y/N)!” Donna exclaimed cheerfully, presenting the meticulously wrapped gift from behind her back.“This is for me? Really?” Taking it between your hands, you couldn’t quite believe it. Its TARDIS blue cover made you look at the doctor with a very excited smile.
“Come on, open it!” Insisted your sister, eager to know your reaction. “Alright alright.” Removing diligently the tape, you unwrapped the present, fingers still lingering on the blue paper. As you finally put the wrapping paper away, you couldn’t quite believe what you had between your hands.
As your fingers scavenged into every little crevice in the paint, you felt a rush of fear overwhelm you, causing your vision to blur and darkness to encroach.
The painting escaped your hands as your head dropped back against the chair. A look of pure terror emerged on the Doctor's face. He rushed to your side, cradling you close in a desperate attempt to rouse you from your daze. But as he saw the white membrane of your eyes, his hearts clenched in distress. Trying to awaken you, your breathing became even more shallow, as all you could hear was the panicked voice of the Doctor trying to get you back.
----------------------------
[ Running through the dense forest, you felt a searing pain in your side with each step. The distant echo of gunshots, reverberating in the background as you tried to survive. Your legs screamed for respite, but you pressed on, driven by an instinctual need to flee. "Run, little girl—run!" a voice urged, compelling you forward.
Your own gun had been abandoned in the deep waters of the swamp, when you had tried to get away. It happened so fast. You over her body, trying to cradle her in your arms, tears falling on her lifeless form. Screaming her name as you discovered the inexistence of a pulse. Yours quickening as you felt the cold touch of a gun at the back of your head.
Your assailant’s hand reached for the gun in your pocket, forcing you to stand up as he threatened you with the same fate. You took him by surprise when you punched him square in the face, knocking him back into the deep waters.
He had the opportunity to shoot, and now your side was drenched in a deep crimson red. Amid of his cries for you to stop, the cacophony of crows served as an eerie backdrop. They were always watching, always vigilant. Each death, guarded by these birds. Some called it a bad omen, while others saw it as the hand of fate at work.
This man had made his intentions clear - he wanted you dead. As the most influential woman in the village, you posed an obstacle to his ambitions. But his desire for power wasn't limited to you; your daughter was also a target.
Just a week after your daughter confided in you about being stalked by this man, she vanished for two agonizing months. During that time, you left no stone unturned in your search for her. Yet, when she was found, it was in the heart of an ancient celtic ritual site, adorned with a crown of flowers and moss.
In the periphery of your vision, you noticed a shadow trailing your every move, much like the ever-present crows. This figure, with a human form and deer antlers, was known as "Cernunnos" to the locals. To some of them, he was a deity, while to others, he was just an abomination.
To you, he might have been both.
Why Cernunnos had chosen to protect you was a question that plagued your thoughts. Knowing you were being followed made you even more afraid, hearing steps and deranging noises all around. Dodging yet another branch you found shelter behind one of the largest trees you could see. Afraid to even peek around to know what had become of this man.
The sickening sound of his screams mingled with your own, the adrenaline of the moment swiftly fading. Hearing the distant noise of his body when it was crushed to the ground, you felt yourself slipping into unconsciousness once more. The impending danger should have been terrifying, yet amidst the chaos, his guttural voice reverberating beside your ear, there was an eerie sense of calm. ]
----------------------------
As you opened your eyes, a sense of relief washed over you. The soft glow of the TARDIS shined over your features, offering you reassurance in its dim light. Turning your head, you saw beside you the soft brown hair of an all too familiar face lying on the mattress. Hand tightly holding yours as if afraid of letting go.
Rolling slightly onto your side, your free hand reached out to brush his hair, gently moving the strands aside. Sensing movement, the man's eyes fluttered open, initially blurred, they became wide open as he realized you were awake. Adjusting his hair, his hand came to rest on your cheek, seeking confirmation that this wasn't merely a dream.
Leaning into his touch, you finally manage to speak. “Hello Doctor…”
His voice seemed laced with worry and relief. “You scared the living daylight out of me …” He wanted to be angry at himself to not have prevented it, but right now, your eyes told him it wasn’t the right time. ”I thought I would lose you”
“I thought too-” Tears welled up in your eyes, the feeling of the recent events still fresh in your mind. No matter how many times you had to go through it, it never got easier.
Shifting beneath the covers, you sought comfort in the Doctor's presence, inviting him to join you in bed. All you wanted was to lie there, to feel his gentle touch against your skin as you still processed what just happened. You longed to hear the rhythm of his hearts, to feel the reassuring rise and fall of his chest beneath your fingertips.
Remaining in his suit, the Time Lord drew closer, removing his shoes before slipping under the covers beside you. His arms encircled your waist, pulling you close to his chest, while his chin rested atop your head as you nestled into the crook of his neck. Like a safe haven you would never dare to leave.
“Do you want to speak about it?” The Doctor's voice was gentle, his lips pressing a tender kiss to the top of your head, his hand moving in soothing circles on your back.
“I thought I had remembered everything. I really did…” Your voice started to quiver “So why didn’t I know about this already?”
Softly, the Doctor started to question you about your memories.“Can you tell me what happened?”
Hesitating at first, you finally found the courage to let go.“I just… There was a peatland… A large peatland filled with dead bodies. I-” Remembering her face was difficult, you almost wanted to throw up just thinking of it. “There was a girl… in the middle of it… Couldn’t have been more than 18…”
“Did you know her?” You felt upset to not have remembered such a thing. How could someone forget their own child?
“I-I think I did… I remembered myself screaming her name, but…” You couldn’t bring yourself to say it, clutching his suit tighter. “She was already dead…-” More tears streamed down your cheeks. “And then, I remembered running. Bleeding and running from someone. I’m sure they wanted me dead…”You sniffled, attempting to wipe away the tears. “So... I pushed them and ran…”
“Has they done something to you?”
“I still feel the pain in my side… I think they shot me… ” Your hand instinctively went to your thigh, trying to make the pain go away.
“Do you know how it ended?” One of his hand now covering yours.
“The forest devoured him… I heard him scream out for help… But It was already too late to do anything…” The doctor looked puzzled. How could a forest devour someone, especially on earth? But as you shed even more tears, he drew closer, your knuckles turning white from holding him too tightly. “I was so scared…-”
“You’re okay now… I’m not letting you go…” His protective embrace conveyed a sense of security you desperately needed. ”You must rest, you’ve been through a lot…” Perhaps a few more hours of peace could offer you some relief.
If he were being honest, the Doctor had been terrified. Despite Donna's explanation of your memory system, he had feared that you wouldn't wake up. He never wanted to see you in such distress again.
As you fell asleep against his chest, your fingers intertwined with the fabric of his suit once more. He couldn’t help but marvel at your beauty as he brushed a few strands of hair out of your face. He pressed a gentle kiss on your forehead before readjusting his legs for more comfort.
This night aboard the TARDIS sure had been chaotic. Watching from the doorframe Donna felt relieved to see you so peaceful in the Doctor’s arms.
----------------------------
The painting was never to be seen again. At least that was the Doctor's wish… Yet, to you, it still held a great place in your heart, no mater how much your first encounter with it had been dreadful.
Picking it up from the keepsake room, your fingers inspected the artwork, paying attention to every detail. What was once a terrifying and dark forest now bloomed with vibrant colors. The ominous figure with antlers had softened into a gentle deer peeking from behind the trees, while the crows were finally released from their silent duty.
Entering the control room, you found the Doctor engaged in lively conversation with your sister, discussing their next adventure. Joining them, your heart felt lighter than it had in days, finally freed from this burdened past you had finally learned to carry.
Heyyy! So here comes the second part of "Simplement Humain". Hope you enjoy!

Part 1 , Part 2
-------------------------
Warnings : English is not my first language. Lost of Angst. Bonus fluff. Martha is not in love with the Doctor, Prehestablished relationship.
Translation : "Simplement humain" : Merely human
-------------------------
“Ladies and Gentlemen, please take your partners, and put on a waltz.”
As the music filled the air, you found yourself swept away in the graceful movements, relishing the opportunity to dance with him once more. His skill on the dance floor was undeniable, and as you twirled around the room, your eyes remained locked on each other, knowing that this was a bittersweet farewell.
"I didn't know you were such a good dancer," you remarked, unable to suppress a smile.
He chuckled softly, his eyes reflecting a hint of amusement. “I didn’t know I could dance either”
"Is there anything you're not good at, Mister?" You teased, already knowing the answer.
"I think that question could go both ways," He replied with a playful glint in his eye, causing a blush to rise to your cheeks. His smile only widened at your adorable reaction, eliciting a laugh from you as your nose scrunched up in the most endearing way.
After a few dances, the two of you settled at a table, your companion graciously offering to fetch some drinks. As you scanned the room, your gaze fell upon Martha making her way through the crowd. Catching her eye, you silently beckoned her over, gesturing for her to take John's seat for a moment.
"Did you find it?" you whispered, your voice barely audible.
"I searched everywhere, but I couldn't find it. Not even in the T-Closet. It's like it's disappeared," Martha replied, her breath quickening with worry. "I swear I saw it this morning."
Squeezing her hand reassuringly, you tried to calm her nerves. “Okay, hey, Look at me… We're gonna be alright. Have you checked for the school yet?”
“No…” Martha admitted, her fingers tightening around yours.. “Then it might be there.” You suggested, brushing your thumb over her hand. ”I know this is stressful, these things are after us, but we need to keep calm otherwise we won't be able to help the Doctor get back from this.”
As Martha nodded, attempting to steady herself, you felt the weight of John's gaze upon you. Sensing that he needed to know, you excused yourself and approached him, a million questions swirling in his eyes.
"You're not really going abroad, are you?" he asked in a hushed tone. "If you need help, I can try to land a hand-."
“That’s the problem… You can’t. At least not right now, not as John Smith.“ You explained, taking his hands in yours, trying to keep calm. “Then as who?”
“The Doctor-” The sound of music was abruptly drowned out by screams, and you felt John stiffen beside you as the intruders made their presence known, the once festive atmosphere turning tense.
Seeing the guns in their hands, you could feel yourself grow with anger. One of the guests, getting obliterated by one of those aliens for simply asking what was going on, causing even more commotion.
“We asked for silence!” Screamed the tallest “Now then, we have a few questions for Mister Smith.” A sinister smile drew on his lips.
Coming from behind one of the tables, a small girl, holding out a red balloon started to walk up to this strange family. “No, better than that…- the teacher, he’s the doctor, I heard them talking ”
Greeting your teeth, you took the opportunity to get closer to Martha.
The boy’s booming voice getting you even more railed up “You took human form”
“Of course, I’m human, as was born human, just as you Baines, and Jenny, and you Mr. Clark, What is going on, this is madness ?!” John was panicking. He had no time to process anything, being accused of being something he didn’t even know existed.
Seeing that John wasn’t about to listen to them, You and Martha had been taken hostage by two of the aliens. They needed him to change back, and they thought the best way for it to happen was for his companions to get threatened.
For a short instant, you felt the grip around you lessen, the aliens holding you seemingly having gotten distracted by something across the room. This gave you enough time to change roles with the woman, her gun was now in your possession, you were ready for anything to happen.
"Don't move! Let Martha go, or I'll shoot!" you declared, your eyes fixed on the ringleader.
Testing your patience, ‘Baines’ got a step closer. “You wouldn’t dare-” As he spoke, you shot the roof. If you had to kill them to get her free, you wouldn’t hesitate. “No, you shut up!”
“I’m gonna shoot you down!” Threatened the boy holding out his gun in your direction.
“Oh yeah? Are you sure you wanna do that?” Mentioning the hostage still shielding you.
“Would you really pull the trigger?” Your breath had quickened. To him, the look you were bearing smelling like fear to him. “You look too scared”.
“ I. am. Not. Scared. “ Fire, slowly showing from behind your eyes. ”I’m Angry and ready to do anything it will take to get my crew safe. Wanna risk it?” Your voice held venom, hatred for what stood before you. But your determination seemed too strong to be a simple bluff. Taking it upon himself, ‘Baines’ lowered his gun.
Trying your best to hold your rage, you ordered John to take everyone out of the hall and get them to safety. Raising your voice, you almost sounded scarier than the man who once pointed his gun at you. “I said get out!”
“(Y/N) What about you?!”
“Get Martha to safety! I’m taking care of this!”
-------------------------
Flighting was the only way out, as much as John wanted to make sure none of the boys had stayed inside, he and Martha had no choice but to retreat. Running was the easiest part, finding shelter was harder.
As they came around the school, they found refuge behind a small bush. Hearing the voice of one of the members of the family, John thought he was dreaming when he saw the magnificent blue box they had in their possession. As he watched it closer, the memory of the sound of her engine slowly crept up his back.
Beside him, Martha had tried to hold tight, but as she saw the way he looked at the time machine, she finally let go of the secrets and blurted out to him what was really happening. Of course, the man wouldn’t listen, as much as he would have wanted to believe it, he just couldn’t assume everything he once knew was just made-up lies. Frustration getting the better of him, he got up and started running once again.
As the duo reached the hill, a small (Y/H)-haired figure could be seen making large movements. Encouraging them to come closer.
“Martha! In here!” Recognizing the voice immediately, the girl took John's arm and sprinted toward what seemed to be a small cottage. Once close enough, she dropped his hand, crashing into your arms as a small laugh escaped her. Bringing your arms around her, you couldn’t help but be relieved to see her.
“Thank god you're okay! I thought we lost you-” Let out the girl while squeezing you a bit more. “You’re gonna need a lot more than this to get rid of me sweetheart.” You said while rubbing her back. “As much as I like your hugs, we need you two safe.” Indicating her inside, your eyes trailed behind her, revealing a very distraught John. As much as you would have liked to hug the hell out of him, you hurried him inside. “No time for questions.”
-------------------------
Once everyone was safe, you closed the door. “(Y/N) I’m so sorry I couldn’t find the watch- I don’t know how, it just disappeared, I searched everywhere and couldn’t find it.-” Crossing her arms across her chest, the girl looked at you with pleading eyes.
Getting more frustrated as time passed on, John started to lose it. “If you're the doctor's companions, don’t you help ?” He started to inquire from the end of the table. “What exactly do you do for him? Why does he need you ?”
Taking his hand in yours, drawing small patterns on them with your thumb. You looked at him, eyes full of dread. “Because he’s lonely...” As it sunk in, John's voice started to break, shattering your heart at the same time. “And that’s what you want me to become?”
Before anything more could be said, a knock was heard on the door. A little bit tense, Martha started to walk toward it.
“What if it’s them ?” Inquired the teacher Worried of what could be outside.
“I don't think scarecrows knock.” Hand on the doorknob, the girl finally opened the door, falling face to face with one of the school boys.
“I brought you this,” Reaching into his pocket, the ginger-headed boy took out a watch. The very watch the Doctor had told them to protect.
-------------------------
"Hold it," Martha insisted, her tone pleading.
"I won't," John replied stubbornly , his determination unwavering.
“Please, just hold it.” You urged, sensing his reluctance growing.
Timmy, sensing the tension, decided to intervene. ”It told me to find you. It wants to be held.”
Encouraged by the young boy's words, you couldn't help but wonder why he had held onto the watch for so long. "You've had this watch all this time? Why didn't you return it?"
"Because it was waiting. And because I was so scared of the Doctor," Timmy confessed, his eyes betraying his fear.
"Why?" You pressed, lifting a brow in curiosity.
“Because I've seen him. He's like fire and ice and rage. He's like the night and the storm in the heart of the sun.” Timmy explained, his voice tinged with awe.
John, growing increasingly uncomfortable with the description, interjected, "Stop it."
“He's ancient and forever. He burns at the center of time and he can see the turn of the universe.” Timmy continued, his confidence growing with each word.
“Stop it! I said stop it.” John's voice broke with desperation, unable to bear the weight of Timmy's words.
“And he's wonderful.” Timmy concluded, his proclamation hanging in the air.
Visibly shaken by the description, John was getting even more scared by what he once was. But as he inquired himself with more and more questions, the earth started to rumble beneath their feet, the loud sound of crashing coming from right outside the window creeping everyone up.
“What the hell?” Martha exclaimed, her panic rising as the commotion grew louder.
“They're destroying the village…” You let out, watching the fireballs crashing by the window.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, John reached for the watch, his fingers tracing its intricate design. A faint whisper seemed to beckon him closer, urging him to open it.
“Can you hear it?” inquired Latimer
Closer
He could feel it, and as much as he wanted to resist its call, the more he got it closer, the more he understood it. “I think he's asleep. Waiting to awaken.”
Little man.
Now knowing he wasn’t the only one hearing it, Latimer wanted to ask. “Why did he speak to me?”
“Oh, low-level telepathic field. You were born with it. Just an extra synaptic engram causing.-” You felt your heart falter. “Is that how he talks?” John's voice quavered with uncertainty, his newfound knowledge unsettling him.
“That's him. All you have to do is open it and he's back.” Martha encouraged, her voice laced with urgency.
Realizing the implications of the watch's power, John couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt wash over him. “You knew this all along and yet you watched while Nurse Noble and I-”
Cutting through the tension, you interjected. “She didn’t need to watch out for this.”
“Falling in love? That didn't even occur to him?” John's voice wavered with self-doubt, his insecurities bubbling to the surface.
“No” You affirmed, your tone firm and resolute.
“It was always going to end, though! The Doctor said the Family's got a limited lifespan, and that's why they need to consume a Time Lord. Otherwise, three months and they die. Like mayflies, he said.” As much as Martha was trying to reassure him, the look
“So your job was to execute me.-”
Not wanting him to lament on himself any longer, Martha pressed him on the matter “We don’t have enough time, people are dying out there. They need him and we need him. Because you've got no idea of what he's like. I've only just met him. It wasn't even that long ago and yet he is one of the greatest people I ever met. He is everything to me. He is one of my best friends, and I don’t want to lose him!”
One of the fireballs hitting closer to the cottage, only had the poor Timmy getting more agitated “It's getting closer.”
Rushing for the door, John seemed determined to put an end to it. "I should have thought of it before. I can give them this. Just the watch. Then they can leave, and I can stay as I am," John proposed, his voice tinged with resignation.
But you couldn't bear the thought of losing him, your fear outweighing any other consideration. "You can't do that! I'll never let you do it!" you declared, your determination shining through.
“If they get what they want, then, then-”
“Then it will all end in destruction! Those creatures would live forever to breed and conquer, for war across the stars for every child. If you give it to them there will be nothing left! Nothing to look forward to, no hope left.” You had tried to stay calm, but as much as you wanted to hide it you were as scared as John.
“Martha, Timothy, would you leave us alone, please?”
-------------------------
As the two left the room, the imminence of the disaster seemed to finally catch up to you. Opening your arms, you let him crash into you, a sobbing mess trying to hold on to everything he thought he had left. His knuckles turned white from clutching so hard.
Sitting down, you cradled him against your chest, running your fingers through his hair in an attempt to soothe him. Your other hand traced gentle circles on his back.
“I know this sounds scary.” You murmured softly. “Changing for the sake of the universe. Wouldn’t that be one of the most horrible decisions to make.”Tenderly, you reached for his face, urging him to meet your gaze. “Yet here you are.”
“I wish I could do it for you, trust me.” You confessed, feeling a pang of sorrow. Witnessing someone you cared for endure such turmoil was a heavy burden to bear. ”But right now, I need you to open this watch.”
“If it can reassure you, I once had to make a similar choice.” It was like you were back in your room, Dona trying to get you back from yet another vision. This man who was now standing before you, the last thing you had seen of it. Pondering who he could be.
“And what did you choose?” Asked John.
“I choose the Doctor.”
“Who is he to you?”
“Where can I even begin?” You chuckled softly, overwhelmed by the depth of your feelings.
“Is he a good man?”
“He is… To me he is.” You affirmed, your voice filled with undying love. “ The greatest man that ever was and ever will be. I made a promise to him and I’ll be dead before I think of breaking it. For all I know I could destroy the whole universe if any harm came his way.” Tenderly, you cupped his cheek, drawing him closer.
“And that man is you, John.” you whispered, your foreheads touching as you held him.
John feared that the other him would feel a different way, of what would happen if he was to never love you back. “But… What if he doesn’t love you the same way?”
“Oh my love, Just by looking at you, I know he does.” You assured him, your words brimming with sincerity.
As John examined the watch in his hands, you took hold of them, feeling a warm light envelop you both as memories flooded your minds.
‘The bell of the church rang as you got closer to the groom, kissing under the gaze of all the guests, cheering on as the both of you got lost in one another. Ring shining in broad daylight, finally united for the rest of your life.’
‘Sitting onto a bed, holding your firstborn baby, covered in a soft blanket as you and John looked at her with immense happiness. Ringed Finger trapped in her deadly grip. “She is beautiful” Tears of happiness slowly falling on his cheeks.’
‘You both, taking a walk in the woods downtown, playing with your kids in the rain. You, smiling at your husband with all the love you could muster, holding the hand of your youngest daughter as you helped her get over a small puddle.’
‘And as you laid beside him in bed, old and gray, you felt your eyes getting heavier as time went by.
“They're all safe, aren't they? The children, the grandchildren. Everyone's safe?”
“Everyone's safe, and they all send their love, John.” You softly mustered feeling his grip on your hand getting weaker.
“Well, it's time. Thank you”’
And as you returned to the present, a tear trickled down your cheek. "Did you see?"
“A timelord, could never have a life like that…” You trailed off, your heart heavy with the realization.
“And yet I could…-” John mused, his gaze fixed on the watch between his hands.
“What are you going to do then ?”
-------------------------
Waiting by the TARDIS, a bittersweet feeling washed over you as you prepared to bid farewell to this extraordinary adventure. All the people you had met, all the experiences you had shared, would soon be nothing but memories.
When the Doctor finally appeared, a smile spread across your face. His stern expression softened into a grin as he drew closer. Martha couldn’t contain her excitement and rushed forward to embrace him, laughter filling the air as relief washed over them both.
With Martha retreating into the TARDIS, you were left alone with the Doctor. A smile played at the corners of your lips as you approached him. You could already decipher this big and goofy grin you had missed so dearly.
“Miss me?” He teased, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
“Well-” You began, a playful retort on your lips, his face turning into a small frown “Of course I missed you, Darling.” Taking a few steps forward, you adjusted his coat, your instinct telling you to grab him by his tie and kiss him.
And as you did, the worries you had felt for the past two months flew away, knowing your man was safely back in your arms.
-------------------------
Bonus :
Back inside the TARDIS, you admired the beautiful console before you, reveling in the familiar hum of the time machine. Beside you, the Doctor started the engines, his expression distant as he lost himself in thought.
Putting you out of your daze, the Doctor had found the courage to voice his doubts. “The things you said…” Had he started “ ‘About the whole, ‘I would destroy the world for ‘him’ thing...Did you really mean it…?”
Your cheeks flushed at the question, surprised by his uncertainty. “Do you think I would lie to you about such a thing?” Looking him right in the eyes, you couldn’t even think of a day when you hadn’t loved him to such an extent. “Why are you asking?”
“I- I don’t know…” The Doctor admitted, his eyes betraying his vulnerability. ”Since you have seen the life you could have with John, I thought you wouldn’t want to travel with me anymore.” His voice faltered with uncertainty. “Come here love…” Opening up your arms, you let him take his time to make his way up to you.
Tightly holding him, he hid away in the crook of your neck, you gently rubbing his back, kissing his head from time to time. “As fantastic as this life could have been, it wasn’t a life for me. Seeing you grow old by my side, knowing it would be the only life I could have shared with you. It would have driven me insane.”
“I don’t want to lose you…” The Doctor confessed, his voice muffled against your neck.
“You won’t.” You assured him, holding him even tighter against your heart.
Heyyyy! How are you lots? Following up the episodes of "Human Nature" and "The Familly of Blood", this fic will be in 2 parts. As in the original, Martha will be part of the trip, but will only consider the Doctor as a friend. Next up, will be a time paradox episode. Anyway, hope you enjoy it!

Part 1 , Part 2
-------------------------
Warnings : English is not my first language. Angst on some parts, but mostly fluff. Martha is not in love with the doctor. Preheastablished relationship.
Two months had swiftly passed since you had started your role as a nurse at the Farringham School for boys. Martha diligently fulfilling her duties as a maid to Mister John Smith, while you navigated the halls alongside Joan Redfern, the school matron.
Despite the woman’s kindness, your heart ached witnessing the unfair treatment Martha had to endure from her. While recognizing the societal norms of the era, it pained you deeply to witness your friend being the subject to such remarks. Though you longed to defend her honor, the fear of jeopardizing your employment forced you to a silent support, offering her solace whenever possible.
In the bustling corridors of the school, your presence remained veiled from the Doctor's awareness. To him, you were merely the assistant to the school nurse, a captivating woman with (H/C) tresses whose charm had begun to catch his attention. Concealing the depth of your feelings had proven to be challenging, each interaction with him reigniting what had been lost for several weeks now.
Your initial encounter had him wondering how someone he could have met for the first time could possibly feel so familiar. There was definitely something more to you, yet he couldn’t quite place it. This mystery made him want to know you even more, pry into your life in a more private way. And with each smile, he barely could hold his heart in place anymore.
With the passage of weeks, casual conversations evolved into a daily rendezvous, as if fate conspired to draw you closer. Martha, attuned to the subtle cues of affection between you and the Doctor, became a confidante in your clandestine courtship. Like two lovesick souls navigating the maze of emotions, your longing for one another grew palpable with each passing day.
—---------------------------
In the present moment, the confines of John's study provided quite the intimate setting as you meticulously sewed his scalp back together.
Upon discovering him struggling with an armful of books, you had extended your assistance, seizing the opportunity to learn more about the other. However, a casual mention of an upcoming dance at the vintage hall precipitated John's inadvertent tumble down the stairs, necessitating your immediate attention. As you deftly maneuvered the needle, John winced in discomfort, lamenting the pain.
"Stay still," you chided gently, your fingers working deftly to complete the final stitches. "You'll reopen the wound if you keep fidgeting."
"It hurts," John grumbled, his features contorted in anguish.
Acknowledging his discomfort, you offered reassurance, " I'm almost finished, just bear with me a little longer, Mister Smith."
Before you could secure the final knot, the door bursted open, admitting a visibly distressed Martha. Focused on your hands, John barely registered her arrival, his gaze flickering upwards momentarily. "Is he alright?" Martha inquired anxiously.
Completing the task at hand, you turned towards Martha, a reassuring smile adorning your lips. "He'll be fine, just needed a few stitches. No signs of concussion, if this was your concern."
“Thank you for taking care of him.”
Returning her gratitude with a wink, you snipped the thread with precision, signifying the completion of your task. Martha's relief was immense, by you attending his care there was little to no worry. In a bid to make amends for her abrupt intrusion, she volunteered in tidying the study, suggesting a reorganization of the many books strewn across the tables.
Observing your meticulous actions from his vantage point, John couldn't help but marvel at your grace and competence. "Perhaps you should rest for the remainder of the day, Mister Smith," you suggested, concerned for his well-being. "We wouldn't want you getting worse by tomorrow."
“Thank you again for dealing with this.” John acknowledged while pointing at the back of his head.
"It's all part of my duty," you reassured him, a sense of satisfaction permeating your demeanor.
Turning his attention toward his maid, John resumed their earlier discourse, starting to rumble once more. “So… I was just telling this Noble Matron, about my dreams, they are quite remarkable tales, hum”. As he continued he wasn’t even looking at Martha anymore, his gaze drifting once more toward you. “I keep imagining that I'm someone else and that I'm in hiding.”
Of course, in your little talks after school days, Martha had told you about him getting those weird ‘Dreams’. As if his memories began to bleed through, despite the chameleon arc.
“Hiding in what way?” You inquired, wanting him to take his attention off the stitches going down his skull.
“But almost every night” A smile formed on his lips. He was grateful for you to listen, and yet he couldn’t help but think that perhaps those crazy stories should be kept secret. “This is gonna sound silly” Shucking his head from side to side, he wondered if you would even be interested in this madness.
“ Please, tell me,” Gently placing your hand on his shoulder, you encouraged him to continue, to let loose what seemed to have been eating at him.
“I dream quite often that I have two hearts.”
“Well, I could be the judge of that, let’s find out.” Taking your stethoscope, you placed it on his first heart. Slightly bending over him, you felt yourself getting dangerously close to his face. Checking for yet another pulse, you only were met with silence. “I can confirm the diagnosis, only one heart.”
Standing up, you took the chance to put away the stethoscope, while John continued about his dreams. Looking over at his desk, at the small notebook neatly folded on it, he wondered about sharing his work with you. “I’ve written some of these dreams in the form of fiction, not that it would be of any interest”
“On the contrary, I would be very interested.”
Standing up from his seat, He started to go toward his desk, putting some paper covering the book away. Finally fishing it out, he handed it over to you, indulging you into opening it. “ I’ve Never shown them to anyone before.”
Passing through the different pages, you could only smile as you saw his handwriting. The small drawings, making it even more endearing, for each story had its illustration. “Look at these creatures, such imagination, ” You complimented.
“Yeah, quite a hobby”
“That’s wonderful.” Turning to the next page, you pointed out the beautiful face of a blond girl in the middle of text. ”Quite an eye for pretty girls”. John felt his cheek flare up as he told you about who he had remembered to be Rose. Looking into her wonderful eyes, you could only see why the doctor seemed so distraught the first week you had spent traveling with him. That blond girl was a sight for sore eyes.
As you stared at the next page, you thought your mind had been playing tricks on you. Pictured on the whole page, was the perfect portrait of your younger self. He had remembered her to be called Louise, yet didn’t seem to know who she was. He had come across her once and had managed to remember her every trait. Looking behind the girl, an army of what you had assumed to be sontaariens, seemed to follow.
Turning your attention to the next page, you came across a peculiar frame, he seemed excited to show you the drawing he had made of the TARDIS. “Oh! That's the blue box, it always seems to be there” Stars shining in his eyes as he explained. “Like a magic carpet, this fun little box seems to transport me to faraway places.”
“She’s beautiful...” You whispered with a slight smile. Fingers softly drifting on the colored paper.
“Sometimes I wonder how wonderful life could be if any of this was true”
“If it ever was true, could I perhaps get away with you?”
John seemed to be surprised by your wonders. “Why would you want to get away?”
Giving him a soft yet shy smile, you answered with an open heart. “I don’t know, the stars seem too beautiful to be explored alone.”
--------------------------
Gun practice constituted an integral component of the boys' curriculum, a fact that left you unsettled as you observed John, the Doctor, instructing them in firearm usage. His usual aversion to violence starkly contrasted with the scene unfolding before you. In your mind, he was supposed to be the embodiment of pacifism, relying on his trusty screwdriver to resolve conflicts, always giving a second chance even to the most vile creatures. Yet here he stood, imparting lethal skills to impressionable young minds.
Your concern peaked as you witnessed Timmy's unfortunate mishap, prompting Redfern to spring into action, orchestrating medical aid for the injured boy. Following Tim from the corner of his eyes, John had soon remarked on your presence on the small elevated platform.
Coming your way, he seemed to be holding the brightest smile. “Ahh! Nurse Noble,”
“Hello, Mister Smith.” You replied with a small smile. Rearranging some hairs behind your ear, you felt a soft blush creeping its way up your cheeks. “I have finished reading your journal. I have to admit I quite liked it. I- I was wondering if you could tell me more about them?” You started a little hesitant. “Perhaps on a walk after school?”
His initial surprise soon gave way to enthusiasm, and he readily accepted your proposition. "Let me fetch my coat," he offered, eager to spend more time in your company.
--------------------------
Walking alongside him through the tranquil streets of town, you savored the rare moment of intimacy shared between you and John. Discussing his drawings and the visions he hoped to capture within them, you found yourself captivated by the melodic timbre of his voice.
As John delved into his dreams, you were taken aback by his unanticipated honesty regarding your presence in some of his sketches. His admiration for you, evident in his words, caused your heart to flutter with a mixture of delight and bashfulness. Blushing profusely, you remarked, "I never imagined I'd be inspiring such dreams, Mister Smith..."
With a sheepish expression, John appeared equally flustered, attempting to divert attention from this unwanted revelations. "I... I tend to ramble, don't I?" he mumbled, his cheeks tinted with a hue mirroring your own.
“I found it rather charming.” You confessed, edging closer to his side. Trying to see what had caught his attention, you didn't have the time to react. He had already taken the cricket ball of a small child's hand, chucking it into a pile of metallic pipes. This had them fall onto a sort of catapult, sending a leftover brick to knock over a rather large barrel. This all stopping a stroller from getting crushed by an originally pristine piano.
Uttering a single word—"Lucky"—John's incredulous expression diminishing the pride he felt in his accidental heroism. Observing his clueless demeanor, you couldn't help but marvel at his innocence, even in moments of unexpected bravery.
“Miss Noble, may I invite you to the village dance this evening- As my guest” He finally let out as if he did not come to wake up a third eye.
“You, extraordinary man.-”
--------------------------
“Tell me Miss Noble, you’ve never really talked about your interests. You seem to like astrology, but I can’t help but wonder about those small songs you’ve been humming in the hallway the other day.” Inquired John as he leaned closer to you, sitting beside you on the sofa.
“I didn’t think someone was listening.” Looking over at him, you felt the tips of your ears burn.
“It was quite charming.” He complimented, with a small smile. “Perhaps you could share some of your writings with me.”
Bewitched by his pleading gaze, you found yourself unable to resist his request, even if the songs you were singing were only expressions of your feelings for him. His sincere curiosity drew on your sensitive cords and you only could indulge in his wish.
Thinking back to one of those songs, you saw yourself hunched over his face, slowly stroking his hair as sleep had fallen upon the both of you. A rare occurrence you could only have cherished, softly singing into his ears, a song you had written for him, a candid reminder of your love.
“Promise me to not laugh. I think it’s one of the silliest songs I could have written. It’s not even in English.” You confessed, feeling a flutter of nervousness.
Gently tucking a strand of hair behind your ear, John's gaze intensified, his heart quickening. "Why would I laugh? You've listened to me talk about some rather unlikely adventures. It couldn't be as bad."
While trying to find your voice, you discovered in his eyes the will to stop doubting. In a sweet but powerful voice, you found the courage to address every word to John as you did with the Doctor. It seemed easier to think that he was always there, by your side. While the Doctor knew all the languages of the cosmos, John could barely grasp any of them. It intrigued him. The knowledge you seemed to carry, made him want to know you in even more intimate ways.
“J'avoue j'en ai bavé pas vous, Mon amour
Avant d'avoir eu vent de vous, Mon amour
Ne vous déplaise, En dansant la Javanaise
Nous nous aimions, Le temps d'une
Chanson”
As the sound of your voice reached his ears, his heart skipped a beat. If he wasn’t already drunk with your sent, the melody you shared made him lose all his means. His breath, cut off by the beauty you were holding.
“À votre avis qu'avons-nous vu De l'amour?
De vous à moi vous m'avez eu Mon amour
Ne vous déplaise En dansant la Javanaise
Nous nous aimions Le temps d'une
Chanson”
And as the next lyrics came to you, you could only look at him like you did the first time you ever sang to him. Your eyes, softening, love spilling out of every and each breath you took. Getting closer to him, your most beautiful smile making it's way on your lips.
“Hélas avril en vain me voue À l'amour
J'avais envie de voir en vous Cet amour
Ne vous déplaise, En dansant la Javanaise
Nous nous aimions Le temps d'une
Chanson”
Your bodies, getting closer to one another each passing seconds. His hand, reaching out for yours as he got lost in your eyes. You, trying to lean in on his chest, hand gently brushing the fabric of his suit. Eyeing his lips more and more, contemplating the feeling of them again yours.
“La vie ne vaut d'être vécue Sans amour
Mais c'est vous qui l'avez voulu Mon amour
Ne vous déplaise En dansant la Javanaise
Nous nous aimions Le temps d'une
Chanson”
As your singing came to an end, you could feel the other so close, noses almost touching, while a small space was given for the one who wanted to escape.
Looking at him for approval, you only had time to take a small breath, your lips getting captured by his, in a passionate yet timid kiss. His hand resting on his thigh, he seemed so afraid to break you, seeing you in this exact moment as the most fragile thing he’d ever laid his eyes upon. Closing your eyes, you finally got lost in one another. And had you barely left his lips, you could see how shy he had become.
“I have never-”
Without saying a word, you got closer once more, capturing his lips in a much fierier kiss. It was as if you wanted to enter his vital space, your hand gently reaching his cheek needing to keep him under your sway for a moment longer without having to worry about what might well happen around the both of you.
But as he began to lean further into you, that damned door ended your ministration. His lips moving away from yours, you had finally heard him raise his voice against the poor Martha, trying to get her out of the office.
Looking over your shoulder, you felt your heart squeeze, her apron disappearing behind the door in pure embarrassment. But as your attention was spiked by this intrusion, you felt your cheeks become a different shade of red, the intense gaze of John’s eyes slowly returning to you.
Trying to get out of this uncomfortable state, you let out what seemed to be a poor excuse at first. But seeing the time getting dangerously close to the one you were to attend the dance, it didn’t seem as far-fetched as you thought. “I do believe it’s getting late. I better go get something to change into.”
“Good idea” Hearing the sad undertone to his words you gave him a gentle smile before kissing the corner of his mouth.
“I’ll be back before you know it.”
--------------------------
Hidden away in the dim confines of a small shed, you found solace in the company of the TARDIS, her interior a sanctuary despite her slumbering state.
Perusing the array of dresses adorning her walls, you marveled at their beauty, eventually settling on a stunning (Y/F) Greek-inspired gown. Adorned with delicate embellishments and layers of luxurious fabric, the dress exuded an ethereal charm that complemented your figure flawlessly.
With meticulous care, you selected the perfect accessories—a pair of comfortable shoes and an ornate headband—before hastily arranging your hair and applying a touch of makeup.
When you finally got back, only half an hour had passed, and as John appeared in the frame, all you could see was how wonderful he looked in his brand new suit. Showing him the bag containing your dress, he led you to the bathroom, leaving you to change into your evening attire. Thanking him, you quickly disappeared, swiftly donning the exquisite attire, even adjusting some of the bottom ruffles to make them look a bit more voluminous.
Struggling to fasten the buttons at the back of your dress you could only feel more frustrated by the seconds. Knowing you would probably be struggling for a few more minutes, you knew you needed John's assistance. Venturing through the corridors in search of him, you stumbled upon his partially open door, the soft glow of light emanating from within.
Knocking gently, you entered cautiously, holding your top even closer to your chest. "Mister Smith? I seem to require your assistance..."
Meeting his gaze, you were met with a mixture of concern and curiosity as you struggled to conceal yourself behind your dress.
“I can’t seem to reach the back… Could you perhaps help me out?” Your bare back now facing him, you were almost scared to feel his fingers on your skin. The cold yet warm touch of his fingers gently and efficiently buttoned up the back. Hearing the soft shift of the couch, you finally felt his hands, sending your back shivering as his breath tickled your neck.
“You look beautiful tonight Miss Noble.” He murmured, his eyes filled with admiration.
“Oh, please I told you to call me (Y/N)” you chuckled softly, feeling a warmth spread through your chest.
“Then, in this case, you may as well call me John.” John replied, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he completed the task.
Facing him, you couldn’t help yourself but get lost in those deep brown eyes. They were the eyes of a man you had sworn to love until your very last breath. A man you couldn’t even resist, who would have you wrapped around his fingers as long as he would exist.
Bringing you back to earth, you felt his fingers brushing against your cheek, and lean into it, even reaching up his hand with yours to keep it against your skin. This moment could have lasted an eternity, you wouldn’t have minded. You, kissing the palm of his hand with the softest lips, him getting hypnotized by your endless (E/C) eyes.
As you started to get closer, you couldn’t help the gut feeling of something bad only awaiting to happen. As much as you wanted to kiss him, you couldn’t stop it from invading your mind. Perhaps this night would be the last you would spend with him.
“John, I-” This couldn’t have been a worse moment, the loud sound of the door getting in the way of you both being so close. Martha tried to not panic, as much as it was difficult, practically out of breath. Looking up from her knees, the girl stared at you in distress, giving you a look you knew too well.
John seemed lost. Martha could have been forward in the past, but not to such an extent. “Martha-” Stopping John from giving her yet another lecture, you tried to keep calm and gave her directions. “Not now John. Martha, look in my bag, it’s under the sink. The key (Sonic) is under a fake layer at the bottom.”
“(Y/N) What’s going on?” Ignoring his request, you gave a reassuring nod to Martha before turning around to face John, letting the girl get out of the room. “What’s going on? You're scaring me.”
Taking a deep breath, you tried to find your words, not knowing how to tell him what was going to happen. “John…” You took his hand in yours. “My beautiful John… As much as I would like to pretend, I am as scared as you are. I had hoped to have a better moment to tell you this, but I don’t have that much time left.”
Trying to make sense out of your words, John could only think of you, having to go somewhere far away. “Why didn’t you tell me you were leaving?”
“I only found out about it this morning. They are sending me to an abroad school. Martha had been helping me get the paperwork together.” Trying to disguise the truth, you didn't mention the distressed look Martha bore as she exited the study.
The teacher felt his heart shatter “Is this our last night together then?”
“I’m afraid it is.” As much as you wanted to control the tear going down your cheek, you felt your heart break when his hand got to the side of your face. “I’m sorry to have not told you this earlier. I just… I just wanted to have one more normal day by your side.”
“It’s okay…” Leaning forehead to forehead, you passed your hand on the collar of his suit, straightening the already perfect fabric. Not wanting to give in to the tears, John tried to lift the spirit: “ We still got a few hours together. What do you say? Should we go now?”
Heyyy! How are you lots ? Long time no see right ? Been struggling a bit with writing for the past few days. Anyway! First time I write for 12th, so I hope to have got him right. This follows the series of the Baking week-ends. Hope you enjoy!

“C’est qui le narvalo qui a bouffé tous mes cookies??!! ”
echoed an all too familiar voice from the TARDIS kitchen.
Glancing down at the last packet of biscuits he was consuming, the Doctor hurriedly stuffed the last one in his mouth, attempting to hide the disappearance of your last batch of cookies.
For the past three weeks, he had been raiding your personal stash of sweets, snatching bits and pieces before stashing them away in his pockets.
Setting his book aside. The timelord found himself drawn to the chalkboard standing in front of him, a poor attempt at diversion for the inevitable confrontation. Unfortunately enough, he only had been half way through his writing when the gentle voice of his wife came around.
“Darling, did you eat my last cookies ?” Your voice, though soft, carried a subtle undertone that he couldn't quite decipher.
“If I did, as in ‘if I hypothetically did’. Would I be in trouble ?”He ventured. Tiptoeing around the accusation.
Your smile made him more apprehensive, his back slowly pressing a bit more against the board. “Of course not! Why should I be angry? You didn’t eat them.”
It all seemed too easy, too rehearsed. You had to know. Of course, you did. The glint of mischief lurking behind every line of your face was unmistakable. Had he not witnessed it countless times before, he might have missed it entirely. “Anyway, ‘got a call from Clara, she needs my help to surprise her students.”
Turning on your heel, you could practically feel the weight of the Doctor's gaze boring into the back of your head as you input Clara’s coordinates. With a few pulls of levers and punching buttons, the TARDIS was nearly ready for departure. Glancing back at your husband, you decided to grant him the honor of pulling the final lever.
With crumbs of cookies smudging the corners of his mouth, he looked at you like a child caught red-handed with his hand in the cookie jar. Suppressing a laugh, you let him roll his eyes before reaching for the lever. His brow furrowed as he observed your mischievous smile. “What's so funny?” Your grin widened, even eliciting a small snort. “Nothing, Darling…”
Before long, the TARDIS materialized at its destination. Snatching your leather jacket, you darted toward the door, leaving your husband to ponder the source of your laughter as you passed the threshold. Did he have something on his face? Checking the monitor for his reflection, his cheeks flared up as he used his sleeve to wipe away the dead giveaway.
—----------------------
It had been a long week for the brunette, yet she still had the courage to fulfill a promise she had made her students a while back. Putting out two aprons, the girl double-checked her supply of flour, ensuring she had enough for the multiple batches to be made that evening.
Just as she was about to take a mixing ball out, the familiar sound of the TARDIS reverberated through the room, accompanied by excited footsteps. “Clara ?”
“I’m in the kitchen!” She said, head still in the cupboard.
Coming around the kitchen’s door, you had the biggest smile on your face upon seeing her. “Comment ça va, la miss?”
“I’m doing great ! Where’s the Doctor?” she inquired, turning to face you, a curious expression on her face. She hadn't heard him enter the apartment yet. “What have you done to him?”
Playing dumb, you stepped forward to join her, ready to lend a hand. “What have I done? Do you think I would harm my own beloved?” Despite your attempt to conceal your mischief, she shot you a skeptical look .“Okay, he ate my last batch of cookies…”
“That’s all?” She scoffed “What? Not my fault if he was caught red handed.” You complained while taking a second ball out.
Chuckling softly, the brunette shook her head in disbelief. “You’re unbelievable.” Sticking out your tongue, you finally laughed with her before standing up, the mixing ball finally found.
—----------------------
In no time, you had already begun making batches, “Je suis chez moi” blasting around the room. Making you both laugh as you danced around the kitchen, dough still sticking to your hands.
But laughter soon became playful fighting threats, all orchestrated after you had attempted to reach the bag of flour in the upper cupboard. Unfortunately enough, even if you were taller than the brunette, your hand slipped, the white powder spreading everywhere. Including Clara’s hair.
“Oops- Sorry” You sheepishly excused yourself.
Turning around to face you, Clara was clearly annoyed. Her black t-shirt now tainted white, she was already plotting for yours to turn the same color.
“Hum… I didn’t touch the dough did I ?”
—----------------------
The doctor had come worried about how much fun the two of you seemed to be having. Not that he didn’t feel included, you had tasked him to bake some of the batches in the TARDIS kitchen after all. As much as he found it childish, he couldn’t help but want to see you smile at him, as you proudly presented the TARDIS-shaped cookies. He was fascinated with how such simple things could have you beaming with so much joy.
Finally taking the last batch of cookies out of the oven, he put them to cool down on the aisle. And as he closed the heat inducing contraption, the sound of war cries came from outside.
“Pudding brains” He muttered, running out of the box with a slightly annoyed look. Taking the first door, the kitchen was the second line of action. And as he opened it, he was welcomed with both of his companions covered in white powder, laughing their asses off trying to get the other to stop the carnage.
Taken in the crossfire, the doctor could only stand in the doorway, and try to stop the two warriors. Unfortunately enough, his voice wasn’t as loud as the music, overshadowed by the manic laughter of the two girls, too concentrated on throwing whatever ingredients came their way.
And what was bound to happen, happened. All it took was for Clara to dodge the icing sugar, letting the sweet powder cover half of the Doctor's coat. Your eyes bore an horrified look as you traced the form in the middle of the doorframe.
“Clara…? Keep absolutely still, his vision is based on movement-” You sheepishly let out trying not to laugh at the very crossed face of your husband.
“Now that’s just insulting sweetie.” And yet all you could do was give him a small smile.
—----------------------
After what seemed to be like a day of cleaning, Clara’s kitchen was finally in order. The dough had been stored in the fridge for now, being the only thing saved from this carnage.
“My back-” You complained as you finally got up from the floor. Bending the other way around to release the pressure, you heard your back pop in a satisfying manner. “That’s more like it.”
“Please, make me remember to not let you grab the flour next time.” Insisted Clara as she washed the now watered down flour, off her sponge.
“Oh come on, it was fun-” You let out while whipping off the excess water on the aisle.
“ ‘Could have been spared from it-” Commented the grumpy man now seated in the hallway.
“I've had enough with one grumpy sister, Dear. I don’t need a Scottish husband into the mix-” You let out without much mind.
“-Sister?” Clara seemed surprised by your statement. Yet you decided not to pick on it, and put out the stored dough to make new cookies. This time, Clara, being in charge of the flour.
“Let’s make the last few batches. We still need to surprise your classroom now don’t we?”
—----------------------
After this little “incident”, everything went rather smoothly. With five more boxes of biscuits on the counter, you had enough to live on it for the next two months. At least you were hoping. With your husband roaming the TARDIS, you could count maybe two weeks before two of the boxes disappeared.
As much as the doctor wanted to take Clara on an adventure after such a “Boring” day, you had insisted for him to let the girl sleep before trying to make her run from aliens again. She still needed to teach the next day, and your little session had been quite an eventful one.
That left you and the doctor alone in the TARDIS, the Doctor still covered in flour. You would have supposed he would have changed by now, yet here he was, still in his whitened coat.
Sighing, you came closer to his side, your hand stretched out for him to hand over his precious coat. “Come on, hand it over, it needs a wash.”
“I can do it, you know ?”
“Hand it-” You insisted.
After looking at your hands for a good minute, he finally gave in. “Fine…” Signing the Doctor gave you the coat, leaving him in his white shirt and matching vest.
Quickly you disappeared in the wardrobe, handing over the coat to the TARDIS’s pressing. Landing her a compliment, you got back to the console room, and quitted your own leather jacket before wrapping it over the doctor's shoulders. “Here, you can have mine for the time being.”
A small smile drew itself on the Doctor’s lips. Your caring attitude, making his hearts flutter with thousands of butterflies. Smiling back at him, you scooted over as much as you could, taking his pinky finger with yours in a caring manner.
Always so caring. The soft and smooth touch of your hand made him realize how old his was. If he was being honest, he hated being so old, yet you almost made it bearable. He always was questioning why you stayed with him looking this gray, and being so grumpy. Yet the three rings on your fingers told him you would follow everywhere he would. Support him through whatever was to come.
You, (Y/N), the infinite girl. His infinite girl. His everything.
—----------------------
Bonus :
When he emerged around the console in the morning, he was still clad in your jacket. Despite the fact that the TARDIS had hung his own in the room you both shared, he had made an exception for today. Oddly enough, you had risen from bed before him. You had left your coat, leaving him to speculate that you were probably wearing one of your favorite hoodies.
“Hello, my little thief,” you greeted from the top floor. You were hunched over small scraps of paper, diligently piecing something together.
“What are you making?” the Doctor inquired, intrigued by your latest project.
“A keepsake for Clara,” you replied, without looking up from your work.
“Why?” he asked, genuinely curious.
“It’s her birthday next week,” you finally looked up at him, and from his expression, he clearly had forgotten. “You forgot, didn't you?”
Attempting to play it off, he quickly realized that with you, there was no use in pretending. “Scoot over.”
“Thought you were not the crafty one,” you teased, making room for him beside you.
“Surprise then,” he quipped, grabbing the glue stick.
Laughing softly, you bumped shoulders, working together to create the perfect collage of all your adventures with Clara. Occasionally, you glanced over at his concentrated frown, finding amusement in his determination.
Planting a kiss on his cheek, you thanked him for his help before returning to search for the perfect photos. His neck flushed up to the tips of his ears, his hearts fluttering in his chest at your affectionate gesture.
Heyyyyy! How are you lots? So. This one took longer than expected, liked none of my drafts and ended up with a totally different story than what it once was… But in the end it turned out okay. This one takes place a few months before “An hymne to love”. Sorry if the writing seems a bit funky.

The night enveloped her in a blanket of light, the moon casting its ethereal glow upon the valley. She pulled her jacket tighter around her, the chill creeping into her back as she stood in this tranquil surrounding. Her hair danced gently in the breeze, her eyes shut, savoring every subtle shift of the wind against her skin.
In that moment, barefoot and grounded, she reveled in the sensation of grass brushing against her, its touch both enchanting and soothing. The wind whispered softly, a silent companion as she indulged in dreams of a life among the stars.
She had intended to linger for hours, captivated by the celestial spectacle above, immersed in the profound silence of the night. Despite the creeping cold, her breath materialized in wisps of white her thoughts, consumed with whimsy, as she attempted to conjure ephemeral clouds with each exhalation, watching them dissipate into the darkness. To an outsider, she would have seemed to hang on a single string of sanity with only the calming movement of her chest and the shelter of her leather jacket for warmth. For her, the onset of winter was a long-awaited embrace, promising transformation as the yellowed fields would soon be blanketed in snow.
Breaking the silence, the faint sound of footsteps approached from behind. The rhythmic rustle of grass grew louder, drawing nearer . She kept her gaze fixed upon the heavens, as though committing every star to memory.
The stranger hesitated to speak, his attention taken by the beautiful figure he now stood next to. Her short, ginger hair glowed under the moonlight, her eyes bathed in a soft, bluish luminescence. As their eyes met, something ignited within her as she beheld the familiarity of a man she had never expected to see again.
His unruly hair and long trench coat framed a face adorned with dark brown eyes, each holding the mysteries of the universe. A small smile graced her lips as she admired the beauty of his presence.
Breaking the silence, his voice, warm and soothing, punctuated the night. "A splendid night, wouldn't you agree?"
Gazing back at the stars, she could only nod in agreement. “Splendid doesn't begin to describe it,” she murmured. Sensing him gazing away, she inquired, "And what brings a gentleman like yourself out here in the middle of night?"
"I could ask you the same," he countered.
“I find… comfort in this place… Makes me think of home.,” she confessed.
Seemingly intrigued, he pressed further, “And what might be your name ?”
With a soft smile, she adjusted her short hair before responding. “You can call me ‘Sunny’. And you? What shall I call you?”
“I'm the Doctor.”
“The Doctor? Doctor who?” Her inquiry was tinged with playful curiosity, yearning to see the smile she once cherished.
“Just the Doctor,” he replied, a faint grin playing upon his lips.
“I had a friend who went by that name…” she reminisced.
Intrigued, the Doctor couldn't resist probing further. “What happened to him? If you don’t mind me asking.”
“I had to go somewhere he could not follow…” she replied, truth trapped between her teeth .
“Did you tell him ? About where you were going ?” he inquired gently.
“It was the reason we met in the first place. He knew it would happen eventually. But I don’t think he was prepared for it…” she finally admitted.
The Doctor couldn't help but wonder about what remained unspoken. The possibility of meeting one of his future companions filling his hearts with warmth and curiosity . ‘Sunny’ sounded familiar. He was sure to have met her somewhere before but didn’t want to pry further.
“Anyway, have you seen something strange ‘round here recently ?” he inquired, redirecting the conversation.
“Besides you?” she teased.
“I'm being serious.”
“Well, not far from here lies a small village. There have been reports of missing children in recent weeks. What's most unsettling is that the parents seem to forget they ever had them in the first place.”
“How does one forget their own children?” the Doctor pondered aloud.
“I've wondered the same. And with no one reporting them missing, there's been little effort to find them. It's as though they vanish into thin air,” she explained.
“Now that’s dreadful. At least I know where to search.” the Doctor resolved, turning his full attention to her. “Do you happen to have a vehicle we could use to get to town ?”
“If you ask so kindly, I might be able to lend a hand too. Come on” she offered with a warm smile, leading the way towards her home.

Soon, a small cottage came into view, its white walls adorned with creeping vines, a charming composition of rustic brick and verdant foliage. Adjacent to it stood a barn, spacious enough to shelter two vehicles within.
Hurrying to the porch, the ginger-haired woman donned her shoes before darting towards the barn.
“I must warn you, there’s not only vehicles in there.” Finally opening the doors, a sort of large laboratory came into view. Filled with spare parts, prototypes made out of domestic machinery. The Doctor's eyes gleamed with a childlike fascination as he explored each and every invention he could put his hand on. “‘Careful with that, wouldn't want you to blow up anything.” she quipped, her tone lighthearted as she watched him tinker with her modified mixer.
"A bit rubbish, don't you think you could have used a different lens for these? The blast could be fuller." Searching for two helmets, the ginger haired girl tried to not be offended by the Doctor's comments. “I do with what I can find, Doctor. Anyway, most of them are just smaller scale machinery.” Finally finding what she was searching for, she tossed a black one to the timelord. “Catch! I hope you’re not afraid of speed my dear.”
Looking confused, the doctor examined his helmet, and realized what they would be driving. “Oh- That’s brilliant!”
—----------------------------
Long had it been since she had such a thrilling adventure. Dodging monstrous aliens and unraveling mysteries alongside the Doctor. She even found herself yearning to join him aboard the TARDIS once more. Yet, she knew it was a temptation she couldn't succumb to, lest she alter the course of fate.
As they rode back on her motorbike, she relished the sensation of his arms encircling her, his laughter mingling with the rush of wind. His presence behind her, his warmth seeping through her, felt like a dream she never wanted to end.
Upon returning home, she resolved to embark on a journey of her own—a quest to reunite with her lost lover. But as the Doctor passed by the door, she invited him to share a cup of hot chocolate with her, an offer he accepted with eagerness.
Seated together on the couch, they savored each sip, savoring the fleeting moment of companionship.
“You know, your friend was lucky to have you by his side,” the Doctor remarked, his gaze thoughtful as he sipped his drink.
Smiling softly, she leaned closer, resting her head against his shoulder. “I believe I was the fortunate one. I only wish he could see himself as I see him.”
“And how do you see him?” he inquired earnestly.
“Can I be honest?”
“Of course.”
“A complete and utter idiot…” she confessed, her tone affectionate as laughter bubbled between them. “But a kind idiot.”
As their eyes met, an unspoken understanding passed between them, as if this moment was meant to be.
"I hope you find him soon. He must miss his companion," the Doctor remarked gently.
“I miss him too,” she whispered, her heart heavy with longing.
—----------------------------
The Tardis was Shimmering. Her to be slightly altered beauty, scratched from previous adventures. She had missed the feeling of her wood beneath the skin, how comforting it actually was.
Standing outside of the TARDIS door, the Doctor had extended an offer for her to accompany him, albeit temporarily, but as much as she appreciated the offer, she knew her destiny lay elsewhere.
“Before I go… Though I'm not supposed to know, could you perhaps share your name?” the man requested softly.
“I suppose it won't hurt,” she conceded, stepping closer. “I'm (Y/N).”
“It was a pleasure meeting you (Y/N)” he said with a wistful smile, finally setting foot into the blue box.
“And it was a pleasure to see you again, Doctor,” she replied.
And as the TARDIS vanished from sight, (Y/N) felt her heart swell with determination. She wanted to burst out, claim the very air in her lungs and scream out her farewell. Though tears welled in her eyes, they weren’t tears of sadness, as hope came through. Hope to be in his arms, reunited with her beloved once again.
Heyyyyy! How are you lots ? As promised, here comes another episode of the baking week ends ! This follows up the event of "An hymne to love", as well as the last espisode, "Kiss the cook".
Anyway... Hope you enjoy !

Warning : there's a lot of fluff, mention of making out in the tardis. English is not my first language.
--------------------------
The grocery store seemed to be way too full for a Saturday morning. Paying for the few articles you had in your basket, you got out, frantically searching for your car. There was so little time until the doctor and Clara came back from another of their adventures.
Driving as fast as the law allowed you, you pulled up to your small cottage, sprinting toward your house, paper bags in hand. Your coat was quickly put on a hanger as your shoes went flying in the entry.
Washing your hands conscientiously, you tried to get your plan straight one more time, making sure nothing was missing.
You had wanted to surprise the Doctor for a long while now. Back when Amy and Rorry were still traveling with you, a brilliant idea had come to you in the form of a red recipe book. The cover was old and titled with circles and other intricate designs you soon realized, was Gallifreyan. Having seen the notes the doctor tended to leave in the console room for repairs the Tardis needed, it was only ever so obvious.
For the sake of this recipe, you had to go to small markets while on another planet, wanting to find every single ingredient of what the doctor had stated to be his favorite dessert back home. Finally opening the book, you couldn’t help yourself, and shed a tear as you saw the numerous yellow sticky notes on every page, annotations left by Donna, your previous self older sister.
"How can I be sure he ain't as rotten as the last one?"
Donna was upset to be keeped from such an important part of your life. If you were honest, you were sad to not be able to share it, but it was either that or losing her once more.
On that day, you had asked for her help, but she wanted to know more about that brilliant
stranger you said changed you in better ways.
"Do you reckon I would be baking for him if he weren't important?"
"Cor blimey, you two had been goin’ out for bleedin’ three years, and I still never met the bloke!"
“I told you he traveled an awful lot.” you let out passing by the radio and changing the station.
“Just spill it if he's scared of meeting mom.” She let out with a small laugh. You could only do the same, bumping her with your hip as you did so.
You missed her dearly, her and her sassy comebacks. Since your new “Regeneration” you haven't been able to see her. What would she even say ? She didn’t know this version of you, you didn’t even look the same, and putting her life at risk would be irresponsible. You had just hopped that may be one day you would meet her once more.
Putting up some energetic music, you wore your apron and got to work, sleeves put up to the elbow. The adventure only truly started now, something you waited so long to put up.
--------------------------
The doctor and Clara had been off all day, the brunette insisting on going a little longer, still waiting for your signal. The timelord was starting to be suspicious of Claras behavior, wondering what got his companion so energized for such a long adventure, he even was starting to wonder if she wasn’t a clone trying to keep him from earth longer than normal.
But like the over-excited traveler he was, he couldn’t put down the offer, for all he knew, he was expected back at your cottage by the end of afternoon. Today was a busy day for you, and even if he wanted to have taken you with them, you insisted for them to spend some time together. It saddened him of course, none the less he understood today wasn’t a good day to go off with her.
Right now, the doctor was admiring a beautiful fez he had found within the small shop he and Clara came across, visiting a brand new planet. Soon enough he felt his shoulder being tapped on by the said girl, a tired smile visibly drawing itself on her lips. Asking the doctor to take her home, Clara had just closed her phone, saving it in her back pocket.
After buying the fez, he seemed proud as he pushed the levers on the console. Rocking his new hat, Clara only could wonder if he would ever come across one without having to put it on. Even if she didn’t dream of seeing him less happy, she wanted the surprise that awaited him back home would light him up even brighter.
With the Brunette back at her apartment, the doctor had no patience in waiting some more and launched the Tardis. Soon, his foot touched the vast landing of grass, still illuminated as the sun slowly hid behind the clouds.
Without any hesitation, his hand found the ringing bell of the small cottage, his heart pounding harder and harder as the seconds got by.
Passing your head by the now unlocked window, the doctor seemed to ignite, happy to finally be back. “Darling, the door is open! Come on in!” Your hair was a mess, your glasses hanging from around your neck, beautifully portrayed by the light of the setting sun highlighting your figure. Smiling at you, the doctor entered the house, coming practically 10 seconds later face to face with you. “Well, welcome home Sweetheart”.
--------------------------
“I told you to not cheat! close those beautiful eyes before I smack you.”
The doctor was too curious to wait for the surprise you had put up for him. And right now, all he wanted was to take a tiny peak. But knowing how serious you could be about those things, he didn’t jocked around long before closing his eyes.
Soon you entered the room, a beautiful cake in your hands. Its sunny color, outshining the yellow of your apron. Slowing placing the cake before the Doctor. You gently brushed his shoulder. “Doctor, you can open them… ”
Finally letting go of his face, the man thought he was dreaming. Before him stood something that was supposed to be long gone, never to be seen again. And as he admired the wonderful pâtisserie, he couldn’t help but notice it wasn't just any Gallifreyan cake; it was a homemade one.
Both his hearts skipped a beat as he realized the significance of the gesture. Turning to his wife with a mixture of surprise and gratitude, he couldn't help but smile.
"Did you...?" he started, his voice filled with warmth and affection.
You couldn’t help but beamed with pride when you saw the love in his eyes. "Yes, Doctor. I thought since you couldn't go back to Gallifrey yet, I'd bring a little piece of it to you."
The Doctor's eyes shimmered with unshed tears as he looked at the cake, overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of your gesture. At this moment, all he could think of was how much he loved you, and how much you meant.
Taking a deep breath to steady his emotions, the Doctor rose from his chair, wrapping both arms around you, burying his head in the crook of your neck, trying to hide his tears as they got out of control. Pulling you into a tight yet comforting hug, all he could muster was a soft “Thank you” thick with all the love he could let out. "This... means more to me than you could ever know."
Your hand was now passing on his back, soothing him as much as you could. Your other tangled itself with his soft hair as you stood there for another minute. You never wanted this embrace to end. But as you pulled slightly away, you could only see how much the doctor truly meant every word.
With a gentle smile, you reached down, your hand slowly cradling his cheek as you leaned in softly, closing the distance between them. Your breath mingled, warm yet sweet as your lips brushed together in a soft yet passionate kiss. But as you parted, the doctor only tried to reach for your lips, making you snort softly at the surprised look on his face.
“I do believe we still have to taste the cake, now don’t we?”
“I- … yes”
“We will continue… this after…-”
--------------------------
And to say you had outdone yourself was an understatement. You would have expected it to taste funny with the numerous strange ingredients you had to add. It was heavenly, and by the doctor's face, you could only tell he was enjoying every second of it.
“Is it any good ?” Serving yourself another portion.
"Blimey, love! This... this is fantastic! Haven't had a nibble like this in eons... It's not just good, it's utterly brilliant! Delicious doesn't even begin to describe it!" He answered, still trying to shove more cake in his mouth.
Your cheeks flared up, genuinely happy, and proud you had done such good work. In the beginning, you feared it wouldn’t have the same taste as the one that existed back home, and you felt relieved that the doctor could recognize a fond memory in it.
--------------------------
It was safe to say, the cake did not survive long enough. You and the doctor, now cuddling in the softness of the Tardis covers.
After the cake had been devoured, you had to have a turn. The thankful kisses you gave one another, turned into a heated session of making out against the tardis console, his fingerprints still lingering on your inner thighs. And just like that it was you and him against the world once more.
His fingers passed through your short ginger hair as a comfortable silence installed itself. You looked up at him and could tell he had some questions about the whole surprise.
“You have a lot of questions don’t you ?”
“I always do…”
“Ask away then, I know you’re curious.”
Shifting slightly closer, the doctor leaned onto his elbow, making his face right above you. “How long did this take you ?”
Your hand reaching out for his jaw, you pulled a small but sad grin. “I started trying back when Amy was still traveling with us. Unfortunately, I died shortly after so… been planning longer than our wedding. ”
The doctor laughed slightly with you, remembering the chaotic moment. “And the recipe? Where did you find it? The Tardis database is still written in Gallifreyan as far as I’m aware of- ”
“No such trouble when you have learned to read it.”
“What..?”
“Why so surprised? Did you think I would traverse the universe for eons and not try to embrace your culture? What sort of wife would I be ?”
And just when he thought he couldn’t love you more, he did. His hearts swelled with pride as he looked into your eyes. Caressing your cheek, he kissed your forehead, brushing away some strands of hair still in the way.
“You truly are remarkable (Y/N).....”
“It goes both ways my Bowtie maniac.”
And as the sun rose again on the Tardis, the two lovers intertwined once more, laying one against another as close as you could, afraid time might slip by and take you both apart.
You couldn’t have dreamed of a better outcome.
--------------------------
Bonus :
“I knew Clara was up to something!” Complained the time lord only now realizing why his companion was so indecisive about where to land.
“Only figured now she had to keep you busy while I was baking?”
“That’s an awful trickery-”
“As far as I’m aware, if you hadn't been off, you wouldn’t have this wonderful fez of yours, now would you ?” Turning around him you swiftly took the red hat off his head, putting it on your own.
“Oi, mine-” He quickly tried to retrieve it, but knowing you it could be easy or involve a lot of running.
Dodging his hand, you took the opportunity to run off in the Tardis corridors singing “Nope, mine now!” as you ran across the control room.
“(Y/N)! ” The doctor was slightly panicked but it was just a matter of time before all of it evolved into laughter.
Heyy! Hope you lots are doing well! For this one, lots of fluff with the doctor. 10th discovering his companion can sing (at least decently). Also slipped some barbie tunes in there since it takes place in the 2000’s. Lots of fond memories. If I'm not mistaken, the next one will be a baking weekend with the 11th doctor. well, hope you enjoy.

—--------------------------------------------
Today was supposed to be uneventful.
For once, you had hoped to get a little time off on earth, but of course, your best friend had to have other ideas. Fanny had an important meeting for their wedding, and couldn’t take the girls with them. She needed you to play babysitter for the two little blonds.
And there goes your plans to go shopping with the doctor. Even if you were exhausted, you couldn’t turn her down. You were the godmother of the two little monsters after all, and the grandparents were too far from town to be called last minute.
Getting the girl's bag, you finally got out of the car, the two blonds already sprinting for the door.
“Wait up girls, the door’s not even open yet!” Key in hand, you let them in. Without doubt, you could feel this was going to be quite the afternoon.
Phone in hand, you tried to call the Tardis, watching the two kids going off inside the guest room.
“Hello ?”
“Doctor !”
“(Y/N)! What seems to be going on ?” The doctor let out, happy to hear your voice.
“Hum… Two little blond monsters scavenging my house… I am afraid our little afternoon out has to be canceled. Fanny had an important meeting, and I couldn’t say no to babysitting the girls.”
“Meh! The shops can wait, want me to drop by tomorrow morning ?”
“Could you also grab some coffee? I think I will need a lot of that.”
"Of course!"
It wasn’t the first time you had to turn down the doctor on one of your days off for the two little demons. You loved them dearly, and in the end you had always found your day more fun than if you had it alone. But spending less time with the timelord was always a bummer.
“So. Girls… What do you want to do ?”
“Can we play 12th princesses ?”
“Why am I not surprised ?” You said laughing lightly.
“Please?~” The little girls asked, wanting to put out their little dresses.
“Fine, go change, I’ll grab mine.”
—--------------
And just like that, morning rolled around. You, still covered in glitter as you had played dress up with the two princesses, pretending for there to be a magic portal in the main room.
The floor was still decorated with many floral stickers, all in the right order, as you were sound asleep on the couch. The two girls had been picked up late last night by their mom. You didn’t dare to take a wash before going to sleep, and instead wrapped yourself in the covers of your couch and slept as much as you could, not wanting to be unable to go through the day.
Soon, the whooshing sound of the Tardis, and an excited Doctor, woke you up, making you wonder at first why you were in such a state.
Coffee sent spreaded everywhere as you caught the circular pattern on your floor, and the lovely sand shoes standing on them.
“Well, morning Doctor….-”
“Good morning to you too (Y/N). How was your night with the girls ?”
“I’m sure you can figure this out -” You mentioned looking at the mess the room was in.
For now, all you could think of was getting into a shower as soon as possible and getting rid of the glitter in your hair. “Well, make yourself home, i’ll be back in ten minutes..”
Not waiting for an answer, you barely looked at the doctor. Trying to get out of the mess your legs were trapped in. After struggling a moment, he had offered his assistance to you. But letting out a frustrated sigh you dismissed him, tumbling into your room to pick some new clothes, the covers following close behind.
—--------------
You then went for the shower, still half awake. And as you turned on the shower, you felt every worry slip down the drain. Every sparkle trapped in your hair, finally escaping for the most part. Unforntunatly you knew you would find some on your pillow for the rest of the week.
And as you shampooed your hair, you only could think of that stupid movie the girls had you watch. "Barbie and the 12 dancing princesses". The main theme was still stuck in your head. There weren't any lyrics to it, just the melody. And as silly as it was, you couldn’t help yourself from smiling a bit as you started singing, enjoying the reverberation your shower was giving to your voice.
As you finished showering, taking your towel around you, you twirled, continuing to Derek's tune on the small carpet. And as you opened the door, finally clothed to go on a new adventure, you bumped into the doctor a few steps away from the door.
“Why are you standing there ?” Blush creeps on your cheeks as you realize he might have heard you singing.
“Nothing, admiring your decoration-”
“Against the bathroom door ?” You almost wanted to laugh at the awkwardness he found himself in.
“Now you’re making this sound a lot creepier than it needs to be.”
“It is!~” You mentioned in an exaggerated whisper. Passing by him, you took the coffee he had put on the counter, and directed yourself to the Tardis, the doctor following soon after.
“How come I didn’t know you could sing ?” The brunette asked while putting in the new destination.
“Because you never asked ?” Now you were even more embarrassed. You could sing decently, sure, you would have hoped that by this time in your many lives, you would have caught some tricks to pass as okay. But the Doctor seemed genuinely surprised by your talent.
Looking more into it, you could see there was something more, something he wasn’t sure he wanted to say.
“Something on your mind Doctor ?” You asked him in a softer tone.
“Do you think you could sing more often in the Tardis ?” The doctor feared for you to reject the proposition. It was in your very right to not do so. But the more he stayed in silence, the more his thoughts got loud. Even the radio wasn’t doing the trick anymore.
“I-I mean. If you're not bothered by it, I don’t see why not…” And finally, a beautiful smile brightened his face. As if something was just leafed from his shoulders.
“Brilliant! So, where to? Past? Future? New planet ?”
“How about the 20th century? Edwardian Era?”
“Allons-y!” He let out pulling the levers, you giving him a hand on the ones he couldn’t reach.
—--------------
And from this point on, you weren’t afraid to sing louder for him to hear, knowing it was something he appreciated. When in the mood he would even join you in your antics, sometimes, leading both of you to dance around the room, for it to be silly or plainly in each other's arms.
The tension built more and more, to the point both of you couldn’t help it. And you were becoming more and more in love with the man, your heart jumping every time he held you so close to both of his hearts.
You were becoming a mess when his hands reached for your waist, making you forget the lyrics to the songs you could sing by heart. It couldn’t have been more obvious, still, the Doctor doubted you felt the same, merely noting that some things made a small blush creep on your cheeks. He had supposed it was only shyness when infact it was him who was making you a blushing mess.
How thick the both of you were. Donna would probably have had both your head to not have said anything.
Heyy! This fic is a little longer then the last one. Wanted to do a propper adventure for the doctor and Clara to follow. This one is also cought in a time paradox. You will be presented as Jeanne du Berry, Favorite of the King Louis XV. I inspired myself with the plot of "The girl in the fireplace". Hope you enjoy !
Froggit-
Warning : Could be concidered Angst at the end, with a preestablished relationship. Mention of prostitution. As always, english is not my frist language.
------------------------
“Jeanne du Berry '' was one of the most beautiful women the 18th century had ever seen. From Lorraine to Paris, her beauty was jealous of many, as she attracted all eyes wherever she went. A tall and skinny figure, adorning wonderful pale skin. Her blue eyes looked so innocent, yet she knew how to make use of her charms. Her Long brown hair bleeding into blond as she walked amongst the sun.
She was also known as the favorite of the king, the one who had been part of his most desired dreams by the ladies of the court. Yet, by his side, she never wanted to change who she was and try to be another woman with the numerous étiquettes she was supposed to follow. It wasn’t her place to be. All she wanted was to love the king, make him laugh, let him know he deserved to be treated like a normal individual, to let his title aside when he was by hers. To love him for who he was, and not what he was supposed to be.
After the death of the previous queen, Jeanne rose to power. The king’s daughters all wanted to see her fall, to see her lying in the dirt like the prostitute she was. A whore who had no right to be by their father's side.
Fortunately enough, Jeanne had what it took to ignore the pretentious princesses all too worried about their reputation to care for their father's feelings. And despite giving her best to be kind around her, something was lurking. Wanting her to be a part of something bigger. A piece of machinery well wired who needed guidance in the more gruesome ways.
As she entered her quarters, the king's valet was waiting for her.
"Sa Majesté souhaite que vous l’honoriez de votre présence ce soir pour le bal..."
(His Majesty wishes you to honor him with your presence tonight for the ball...)
"Faites-lui savoir que je me présenterais avec joie à ses côtés."
(Let him know that I would gladly present myself at his side.)
—--------------
As the doors of a blue police booth opened, a little brunette had taken a look outside, outstanded by the beautiful scenery.
The doctor hadn’t lied. Versailles was beautiful at this time of the year. In her dark blue dress, she also looked magnificent, a candy to the eye some would say. Her hair, up in a simple updo, refusing to wear one of those tall and overly done wigs (She had tried to before, but it was too itchy to even keep. Plus, if she needed to run, it would be a disaster).
As she turned around, she fell eye to eye with the doctor trying to activate the chameleon system of the Tardis. For the occasion, he had put on a magnificent Blue-tailed coat, with an intricate chemise, adorned with a waistcoat of a darker shade of blue. He hadn’t put a wig on either and preferred to hide it with a magnificent officer hat.
“Doctor, Hurry up, I don’t think we should be late for such an event! ”
“There is only so much I can do Clara !” Said the doctor trying to make the Tardis invisible.
“There seems to be something preventing her from disappearing… A force field or something of the sort. Which is weird since I closed the last one. ” He continued, still searching for the issue.
“Last one ?”
“Yes, well it wasn’t quite a force field, more of a time portal. Had a wonderful night with Madame de Pompadour on the occasion. Wonderful woman I might add.” He said while finally resolving their little camouflage problems. “Ah ha!”
“We may go now ?“ Pressed Clara, still waiting by the door.
“Yes !”
—--------------
The Ballroom was extraordinarily beautiful. Filled with too many of the richest people in the country. If she was being honest, Clara found it rather charming, yet felt a little uncomfortable around so many gorgeous women and men.
Elbows locked with the doctors, the assembly awaited for the king to arrive, rearranging themself as he was announced.
“Sa majesté le roi !”
As dictated the etiquette, Clara and the doctor bowed before him and returned to position once he had passed. The brunette found it rather hilarious, trying to retain a smile as she graced the floor. Checking for the doctor's eyes, she found him deep in thought, as if he had seen something he had wished to unsee.
But before long another person was announced.
“Madame la Comtesse du Barry !”
And here she was, the most beautiful woman she had ever seen. She wasn't wearing any fancy wigs, her hair let down on her shoulders, decorated with white and long feathers. Her dress was assorted to the cream-white coat the king was adorning. Her trail seemed to be as long as the ballroom as she gently walked towards him.
Once before the king, she presented herself, but as she did so, her eyes couldn't quit his, making the others start chattering, breaking the silence that once stood in the room. And as she did it two other times, Clara looked at the doctor, confused by what was happening before her.
But soon enough, the chatter was silenced by the music starting, a soft yet charming baroque rhythm playing in the assembly. And as the crowd arranged to dance, The Comtesse had in mind something rather scandalous for both her and Her Majesty. Taking his hand in hers, she accompanied him to the middle of the ballroom and started dancing with him. As everyone stopped to look at them, the Doctor couldn’t stop himself from seeing something he would have wanted to avoid.
All he could see was the golden bracelet around her right wrist, a piece of jewelry he knew wasn’t what it seemed. A shimmer perhaps? Whoever was dancing with the King wasn’t the real woman, a copycat at best, and looking at most of the guests, some wore the same one, hiding it under exaggerated sleeves.
“Doctor? Is something wrong…?”
“Very wrong…” Catching the girl's hand, he went to one of the hallways, trying to drown out the noise as he thought of a plan. “I guess I know now why I had so much trouble with the Tardis. We might have some uninvited guests… and a portal inside the castle.” He let out flapping his hands about.
“Why would someone want to invade Versailles in the 18th century? ”
“Lots of reasons…! An alien could easily overthrow someone else to get what he wants from it, by preparing a future terrain… Now, what I don’t understand is why choosing the favorite of the king and not the king himself.”
“Maybe he is the next target…? ”
“They would have already done it. Or-” Then it occurred to him that the king had been gone for months before the ball. Giving enough time for those who wanted to hurt him to take place within the court. “Or it was easier to blend in…” He turned toward Clara, excited by his breakthrough, but the frown on Clara's face made him get on track.
—--------------
Being attached to her bed was not really how she expected her reunion with the king. Her arms stretched too far for her to reach her feet tied to the end of the bed, unable to move. She was stuck and worried sick. Worried for her son, worried for the king-
The room which seemed so calm and charming was now giving her chills as she knew she would soon be killed by those imposters. All of them had left her alone, wanting to partake in the king's murder. The silence was slowly killing her. She had tried to cry for help, but the music seemed too loud for someone to hear.
Tired of her luck, she took a deep breath one last time and called, her vocal cords trying to hold as she begged to be let out of this situation.
And soon enough commotion was noticed by the woman, making her cry once more. Begging whoever was in the hallway to walk into the room. A weird whirring noise was heard, then the lock gave out, leading the door to open.
Before her, stood a tall youthful young man, with unruly brown hair, sticking up in some places. Behind him, a beautiful woman, seemingly the same age as him, wearing a magnificent blue dress.
“Excuse me, sir…, do you happen to know how to get me out of those bindings ?”
“Please do not Sir… Just call me the Doctor. ” The man said while coming closer to the headboard. Using his sonic screwdriver manages to get her out of the metallic bindings.
“ The Doctor? What a particular name… Is it your occupation or is it a title ?”
“More of a title.”
“What a pity, your hands seem adept at such handy work.” Said Jeanne as her own were finally freed. Soon enough she was off the bed, standing before the two travelers. “Regrettably, there’s no time for discourse, for my liege is threatened with poison by one of those deceitful fellows. One has assumed my likeness, and I dread I may be implicated in the scheme.”
“We may be of assistance!“
“I would have expected as such.”
“Those individuals as you call them, what do you know of them ?” Asked clara, stepping beside the doctor.
"From what I saw, they resemble humans with crystal antlers protruding from their foreheads. Lacking noses, they still appeared capable of breathing. One among them spoke of a civil conflict back in their homeland, mentioning something termed 'the hour of joy,' if memory serves."
“Ow! How stupid could I be! Of course!” Said the Doctor, slapping his forehead frustrated he had let such information sleep through. “ To flee the war they had to have a way out. That’s why there is a time vortex opened. They want to kill the king so it would be easier to find a new home for their people in one of the most influential countries of her century.”
“Doctor? Do we have a plan ?”
“Need to find the portal and send them somewhere other than here.”
“How do we do that ?”
“Simple” The doctor confirmed while scanning the room. “As expected. Jeanne, has there been any renovation in your room while the king was away ?”
“A painting of the king had been installed in my room…”
“Clever! Now could you show me where that would be ?”
Not losing any time, Jeanne convail them in a small room, adjacent to the bed. A rather large library awaited behind. In the middle of the room, was a soft red sofa, invaded by all sorts of books and before it stood a medium painting of the king.
Putting out his sonic, the doctor took it upon himself to jump on a chair and try to open what was hiding the portrait. “Here you are” As the painting got off the wall, a mix of wires had been discovered, a large panel hidden behind.
After reversing its polarity, the doctor finally was able to close the portal. Making whoever wanted to enter it appear on another planet that wasn’t Earth. Now, all they had to do was to get the imposters back to their ship.

Jeanne was confused, yet still grateful for the help of the doctor. The ball was still going, and the final moments were to arrive soon, her dear king would be taken away. With a loud bang, the doors at the end of each hall opened, leaving the Comtesse now the center of attention.
She entered furious, still in the dress she had on this morning. Her corset was killing her, but running to get to the scene was not an option. The doctor had told her about the shimmers. How certain of the guests could also be traitors. But all you could think of was getting this imposter off her lover.
“My liege! I fear I am not the one you are holding in your arms!” Jeanne was still running toward him, not caring about the looks the other guests were giving her.
The music had stopped, and panic seemed to ensue as everyone saw double. Thanks to the doctor the situation was taken care of. Explaining what was happening to the king, it wasn’t long after he was out of the fake Jeanne's arms, trying to get back to his favorite. Still connected to their ship, the individual fled. The doctor promised them a safer and harmless way out. Welcoming them to an inhabited planet where they could thrive again.
—--------------
In the end, everything went well, no one was hurt, and the king was saved. He had even tried to get compensation for the help the doctor had offered. But he had refused, claiming it was just another Saturday for him.
Jeanne had followed the doctor and Clara back to the Tardis, wanting to know more about the two time travelers. It was irrational, yet she seemed to be attracted to this incredibly gentleman. Clara had gone ahead, entering the Tardis while the Comtesse stayed to discuss with the timelord.
“So, tell me. Am I to ever see you again?”
“We weren’t to meet in the first place.“ Let out the doctor.
"That is regrettable. I would have desired to learn more about you."
“You can always ask.”
"Can you be truthful? Your eyes betray a distant presence. Why must it be so melancholic?" Looking into his eyes, all she could see was dread, something old that still lingered.
“An old friend of mine had been missing. I searched everywhere, but I’ll find her at some point.”
"If she holds such significance to you, perhaps she is nearer than you anticipate."
“How could she be ?”
"I suppose destiny plays a role? And it's undeniable that you're attractive; I wouldn't fault her for desiring your return."
The doctor couldn't help himself but look at her. Something was screaming at him to look closer into it, to try and understand, but shoving a sonic screwdriver into someone’s face wasn’t a good approach.
“Have we met before ?”
"I don't believe we have. But something suggests it won't be the final occasion either."
“How can you be so sure ?” The Doctor said while trying to find out why he was so attracted to her.
"Life unfolds in mysterious manners. So do I. To my knowledge, no one is born twice."
“I can guess of a few species that can.”
“You're the Bowtie maniac, you should be the one who knows.”
The doctor looked as if he had seen a ghost. “I’m not -(A bow tie maniac)”. In the whole universe, there was only one person who called him this, that he accepted it from. Locking eyes with hers, all he could see was how old they seemed, how much they lived, despite seeming so young. But it made sense. After all (Y/N) had told him about certain past lives. Never giving a name to not disturb time paradoxes that weren’t meant to be. She did mention having had a peculiar life in the 18th century, falling in love with the king. But never would he have guessed for you to have been born as Jeanne de Becu. La Comtesse du Barry.
“Madame! Le roi vous attend !” They heard being called. The Valet of the king interrupted the many questions that had yet to be asked, but it was better to not know and let destiny be what it had done best. Reunite one another.
Jeanne felt there was something more and she wanted to know. But it would ruin the surprise, wouldn’t it? Caressing his confused face with her right hand, she smiled at him. A simple smile, that made his hearts flutter.
"I suppose this is merely a 'farewell,' Doctor. I'll see you when the time arrives, my Bowtie Maniac." And as her hand left his cheek, he felt his hearts hurt, being left once more by the woman he loved the most in the entire universe.

Bonus :
The Tardis felt silent, sad even. The tension was too much for Clara, and she couldn’t help herself from asking what was going on. Why was he looking so distraught, and was being so quiet as he brought her home?
“Who was she ?”
“Jeanne du Berry? Favorite of the King. A more pleasant way to say concubine. She was born in a monastery. But she became a lady in waiting, then worked in a brothel. She got the visit of a rich noble from the court that presented her to the king. It was love at first sight.”
“And to you ?”
“I didn’t know her by that name. At least never heard her mentioning it as one of her previous incarnations. She never wanted me to know.”
“Why would she hide it ?”
“Paradoxes. If I had known, I might never have wanted to meet the younger version of herself. Avoid it even.”
“What happened to her ?”
“I lost her” Seeing the sad face of Clara, the Doctor still wanted to see her smile, and stop worrying about what went through his head. “But I’m sure we will meet again. Travel together once more like we always did. I’m sure you two would love each other.” Finally let out the doctor full of hope.
Heyy! So this one is gonna be sad friends. Angst, a lot of it, sad, and of course, a happy endding, for our doctor wouldn't be able to forgive myself if not.

The interior of the TARDIS felt unnaturally cold, silent even. The whirring noise of the machine transformed into soft purrs barely noticeable to the ear. No one was around except a silent man, trying to make the TARDIS run again. Gripping the machinery, he practically broke one of the levers while holding on to another set of gears, dreading to fall once more.
Tired, he had abandoned flying the old girl to find you. He had tried everything, tried to look everywhere, and everywhen, but the TARDIS wouldn’t allow him to try and retrieve you. Never would he have thought to hurt so much, even knowing this wasn’t goodbye. You were his everything, and he had just witnessed something he wished he could unsee.
The TARDIS felt the Doctor's distress and was sorry for not being able to take him to you. Not that she didn’t want to. If anything, she wanted to see you safe aboard. She simply couldn’t, something making her unable to trace anything, and if there were any coordinates, she wasn’t able to land. Trying to lift his spirits up, the TARDIS had anl idea.
Still sitting on the floor, both his knees close to his chest, a soft music came to his ears before becoming a full-blown melody. Looking at the TARDIS with a questioning look, he finally realized what was playing. It was old, yes, but full of memories. For the both of you. It had played on your first rendezvous, had you danced the last minutes away as if nothing in the world could disturb this moment.
Leaving the ground, he tried to find the source, still wiping the silent tears rolling down his cheeks. Passing by his room, he realized it was coming from yours. Why wouldn’t it? Is that what the TARDIS wanted to show him?
The door was still slightly open. Pushing it, the Doctor was met with a brightly lit room, colorful souvenirs on every shelf. Passing his fingers on each of them, he finally found the record player, preciously presented on a small table in the corner of the room. The disc starting to loop, the Doctor stopped it before looking behind him. All he wished was to lash onto the covers, the room still full of your scent, to find comfort in it. But as he looked at the bed, all he could see was one of your favorite sweaters, softly folded at the end of it. In the collar, a small TARDIS blue envelope was still visible.
With trembling hands, he took the small letter, admiring the work of it. What troubled him was the circular pattern on the front. Gallifreyan? When did you start learning it?
The clean lines, with no trace of a shaking hand, made him believe you had worked for it to be perfect. To perfectly spell his name, with all the love you could muster. He practically renounced to open it, keep it close to himself, but he was hurting too much to not see what you had left him.
Before opening the small letter, he switched his tweed jacket and his shirt for the black hooded sweater you left. And sitting on the bed, he took a large breath before opening the small blue rectangle.
—-----------------------------
“Hello Doctor,
Nice to see you again! How have you been? I’ve been doing rather well, at least when I'm writing these few words to you.
If you're wondering when I had the time to write this, with the many adventures we had these past months, I would probably say, every time you saw me watching you tinkering away on the TARDIS. You tend to imagine some rather dashing curses when you're struggling with her. I couldn’t help myself from writing a few down to use around my dear Donna when we saw each other. You would be surprised with how many of them fit well with some of her coworkers.”
Another night had arisen in the TARDIS, returning from yet another adventure. As always, the Doctor was full of energy while you struggled slightly to follow his lead. That night you were unable to sleep, the Doctor still not beside you. In your pajamas, you went to the console room, notepad in hand to try and get yourself to sleep.
The Doctor softly cursing while he tried to make the TARDIS behave correctly, you on the bottom of the stairs observing him, a soft smile on your lips as he made offended faces after a new blast of energy trying to eat what was left of his eyebrows.
You had thought about writing him a comfort letter for a while now. You didn’t know what state he would be in if he saw you die, even if he already had done it in the past. So pushing your pen down on the paper, you wrote away, finally falling asleep against the rail, notes closed on your knees. The Doctor's jacket covering you as he finished the last modifications on the console.
In the end, he had picked you up, planting a small kiss on the top of your head before heading you both to bed.
“If you're reading this, it means something has happened to me. Something rather terrible, I imagine. And before you start blaming yourself for this : no it wasn’t your fault. You couldn’t have predicted it. I don’t want you to feel guilty about something you had no control over.
You remember the day we met? It was a rather tragic one, wasn't it? And even back then, I knew we would see each other again. This is not a final goodbye, my dear husband; it will always be a new beginning. A new life. New memories to make, soon enough.“
Today was supposed to be a calm and relaxing day, a small trip to yet another galaxy. However, the TARDIS had other plans, taking you somewhere you both were needed.
It couldn’t have gone more terribly. Your trembling hand, holding at the gaping hole in your chest. A pain dulled by adrenaline, making you unable to distinguish what you saw before yourself. You felt your breath taken away from you, slipping out as the Doctor saw your body trying to hold its way up.
“Doctor…” Was the only word you could muster as you fell into his arms. Him trying desperately to keep you awake as he felt you slipping away.
“(Y/N)... (Y/N)! Please stay with me, come on, don’t do this to me…!” Tears and cries intensified as he understood he couldn’t do anything to stop you from dying.
The hole in your chest was too wide, too many organs touched, and your lungs slowly filling themself with blood.
Trying his best to take you both to the TARDIS, both of you to safety even if you were going to die soon. Still in his arms, you had tried to reach his face, wanting him to stop this torture. To stop running with you by his side. But you couldn’t move much, your energy getting away as memories of the both of you flooded your head.
“Sure I won’t look the same. But will I love you, if it wasn’t more than I always did? Absolutely. I mean, did you really expect me to not love you when I would eventually have to pass on my memories? Every one of them, filled with love, caring touches, tender kisses, even in the worst situation. How could I forget the man who showed me the universe in such a way?”
The TARDIS floor was too cold, and so were your hands. Both of you in a tight embrace, as once again, you promised each other eternity. Tears falling down on both of your faces, as you knew it would be a long time until you met each other again. As final memories pass by you, sleeping away in a final breath, you close your eyes, a small smile still on your lips. Happy to have been able to save him.
Soft cries resonated into the silence, tears falling as the Doctor clutched your corpse, hoping he was only dreaming. Repeating in a desperate voice for you to come back, to not leave him like this. All he could see and feel was pain as your skin turned white from blood loss.
“And wherever I will be in this world, I’ll make sure you find me. Big red messages on post offices, try to draw your name in the nearest wheat field, find the tower Elizabeth once more. I even would go as far as track the TARDIS down with the small emitters you showed me how to craft.
But it might take a few years for any signal to appear. I simply don’t want you to wait for me to go on a new adventure, to find a new crewmate to wander the universe with. This will take time, I know it will hurt a lot. It always sucks to lose someone. In this time of dread, I just don’t want you to feel alone. Not once. You will need someone to keep up the spirit, a person to keep you on your toes at all times to make the waiting worth it.
I will find you again. I always did and I always will.
I love you, See you soon Doctor“
—------------------
This letter always stayed close to his heart. As time went by, he had finally accepted to let the future be unknown. He never had given up the hope of seeing you again. Always searching for any signals you could have transmitted. But it got more difficult as the days passed by. As for now, he had followed your wish, found someone else to travel with. And Clara made his world a lot brighter without any doubt.
Today, they had departed for the countryside of England, the Doctor having found a signal all too familiar. He didn’t want to give his hopes up, doubting it for being a sick prank, a coincidence of the universe. But this message was something he had yearned so desperately for many years. “Honey, I'm home.”
“Doctor? Where are we going?” Asked Clara excited to go on a new adventure.
“We're going to visit someone…! I haven’t seen in a long time!” He answered with a big smile.
Clara was not a stranger to the Doctor’s antics, a madman with a childlike attitude, trying to borrow the pain he felt deep down. But today was not one of those days. He was properly happy, a smile she had never seen before. It made her wonder what could make him forget all the rest.
As soon as the TARDIS landed, the Doctor came out first. Before him, a beautiful young lady stood. She was rather tall, with short ginger hair, adorning a smile he knew all too well. When their eyes met he couldn’t help a small tear from falling onto his cheek.
“Doctor…”
“(Y/N)...”
Within seconds, both were in one another's arms, basking in the familiar scent, as tears fell down. You had feared for it to be a mirage, your mind playing tricks on you once more, but as you felt his arms tightly around you, you could only smile.
Too long had passed. Too many years of searching for you, to finally find you here, finally in his arms, your lips now meeting one another's, full of love and longing. A tender kiss to say a thousand words. How much you missed the others presence, how lonely it had been, how much you had hurt while away. All your love in such a simple gesture.
“Hello Honey… I'm home” Did you finally have the courage muster out of air.
Taking a step out of his grasp, you turned yourself around, presenting your new self, a large smile on your lips.
“So? How do you find me?”
Your last face being largely different, you wanted to know what the Doctor thought of it. I mean, you had stolen his luck with your ginger hair. You were also wearing a black leather jacket way too big for you, but it felt comforting with the slight heaviness of the material pressing onto your shoulders.
“How come you are ginger, that’s not fair, I want to be ginger, I've never been ginger.” Did he finally say with a small pout on his face.
“Only thing you notice?”
“You're taller than me… This is new.-” realizing the lack of heels at your feet.
Fiddling with his pockets for a moment, he finally took three rings out of his pocket, all attached to a golden chain.
“Those belong to you I believe.”
“You kept them?”
“Of course, I kept them, darling, we’re still married as far as I'm aware of.”
Slipping the rings on, you finally felt completed. A unit ready to face the world together once more by each other's side.

“Wait, is that a new jacket ? I like it. " You noticed on your dear husband.
“Really ? It's a bit longer than the last one.”
“I see that, you still have bow ties tho-”
“Oi! Bow ties are cool- And I wouldn't be your bow tie maniac without them now, would I ?”
Heyyyy! 'sup, let me give you a small temporal paradox with a reader meeting 9th while traveling with Bow tie man. Hope you enjoy it.

The TARDIS had made a strange calculation once again. The Doctor found himself on Earth, in London, yet unsure of the reason behind his visit, still attempting to pick up the signal.
While examining the screens and discussing the matter with his temporary companion, Jack, the doors unexpectedly opened on their own, despite being locked. A female voice called out, leaving him uncertain how to react. The man beside him mirrored his expression before attempting to prevent the stranger from entering.
"Doctor! I thought you were only picking me up at seven; you’re early."
Turning toward the door, the Doctor watched warily as a woman with (h/c) hair approached the console, attempting to send a message to what seemed to be a friend.
"You're awfully quiet, are you okay, darling?" Finally looking up from her phone, the girl realized the situation she had stumbled into. Lifting her chin, she found Jack’s chest mere centimeters from her nose. "Jack? How are you here?" It had been a while since she had seen Jack. His appearances had dwindled after the Ponds began traveling with the Doctor.
“And who might you be, beautiful lady?”
At that moment, she realized her mistake. Looking past the captain, she saw someone she didn’t recognize at first. His hair was too short, his ears larger, and his style vastly different. This wasn’t her Doctor and his gaze indicated that he had never met her before. She had entered the wrong TARDIS. At least with Jack's presence, she assumed he was still with Rose, but she didn’t seem to be with them.
Deciding to take responsibility, she assumed a different identity, at least temporarily. Using a past name seemed the safest option. Neither of them would recognize her if something went wrong.
“Sorry for the intrusion. Name's Sunny. I’m a 'future' friend.”
“Sunny? What a wonderful name. Well, I suppose you already know who I am, but I'll introduce myself anyway. Jack Harkness. Pleasure to meet you.”
Extending his hand, she accepted it with a slight smile. She had forgotten how charming his younger self could be.
“Pleasure to meet you too. So, tell me, what brought you both here? I can only imagine some kind of Sontaran planting a bomb again.”
“Again?” asked the Doctor, now fully turned toward her.
“Spoilers,” she said with a small smile as she examined the younger Doctor. Even with a different face, he was still mesmerizing. She wondered what his smile would look like if he wasn’t frowning so much. She wanted to kiss his forehead, smooth it from any wrinkles.
“We have picked up a strange signal in the middle of London.”
“Never would have thought to be called a strange signal.”
“How could you be the signal?” Asked Jack, now leaning against the rail.
“Your little emitter is dying in my pocket. Distress signal, I guess. When you left me, you were going to look for a new one.” As she put her hands in her pockets, she pulled out a small phone wired with other components.
Approaching the console, she gently brushed it, lingering with a small smile at the old console. “Hello, old girl,” she thought, before handing the device over to the Doctor for analysis.
“How come you have this? I haven't finished this prototype yet.”
“Told you, future friend.”
And there it was, the smile she had been looking for. She almost wished she had met the Doctor sooner to see more of it. Sensing the tension, Jack excused himself, wanting to “explore” for a bit before returning to his time.
-------------
The sound of the sonic made her feel dizzy. The silence felt weird, at least to her. The Doctor hadn’t met her yet, after all, but here she was with a younger version of himself, filling her chest with butterflies .
“So, tell me, why would I give you this sort of device? Do you get lost so often that I need to provide it?”
“Kinda…”
“When are we meant to meet?”
“Hey… Spoilers, darling.”
“And why do you look at me like that?”
“Like what?”
“What are we? Obviously, we are not just friends with those eyes.”
If only he knew. Fiddling with the three rings on her hand, she smiled, thinking back to her “wedding.” It was under weird circumstances, yes, but she couldn’t have wished for a better way. The Doctor, River, and her, before the universe.
“That’s for me to know and you to find out...” Fully turning to face him, she took his hand, their ringed fingers intertwining as if they were always meant to be. “You know what? I suppose I could give you a small glimpse into the future. I’ll give you three questions. Of course, I won't provide anything that could disrupt your timeline. I'd be an awful partner if I did.”
“Partner?”
Looking at his hand in hers, he wanted to ask about the rings. Why were there three, and not one? Was she married to multiple people?
”Why three rings?”
“A promise for each heart. Two were given to me by the man I love, and the last one by a particularly dashing anthropologist.”
“What promise did you make?”
“I promised to always come back to them, no matter what life brings. To love them until the end of the universe without doubt. To love them until I truly die.” As she spoke, he could see the affection she held for those individuals. It wasn’t just promises; she had already fulfilled them before and would do so again if needed.
Thinking back to what was just revealed, he felt his ears burn. Two rings for two hearts . That man was him, at least his future self! Looking at her with wide eyes, he slowly pointed at her and then himself, still unsure of the implications. Her smile melted his hearts as he realized he had guessed correctly. He couldn’t wait to meet her again, but the fact that she had made such a promise meant something significant had happened.
“Something happened, didn’t it?”
“Not in the way you might think.” Lifting her free hand, she cradled his face, brushing his cheek affectionately. “I made this promise on the day of our first encounter. It wasn’t easy for either of us, but there was only one way out of that situation. And I'll have you know it wasn’t your fault. Years from now, you still think of that day as a dark one, where you lost someone once more. To me, it was one of the brightest days in the universe. That day, I finally had a purpose, something to keep going. And I think you tend to forget how powerful your name can be, how much hope you give by simply giving others a way to shine.”
---------------
She went to release his hand, but he held onto it, wanting to savor the moment a few seconds longer. It felt weird, he never had met her before, but here he was trying to make her stay.
“How long until I meet you?”
“I thought I only gave you three questions.”
And there it was, that pleading look he gave her when he wanted something. Those two blue eyes piercing her heart with curiosity, wanting to know more about their first encounter.
“It's going to be a while before you find me, and a brief trip to France to meet me for the first time. And when I say we’re going to meet again, I might have to relearn how to be myself before catching up with you.”
As she finished her explanation, she heard a faint and familiar whirring noise from the other side of the TARDIS doors. Giving a final smile to the Doctor, she kissed his forehead before finally letting go of his hand.
“Well, this is my leave. See you soon, Doctor…”
And as the TARDIS doors closed, the man beside the console was left in daze. Confused yet excited by this new encounter. This woman was someone he would travel with, fall for, and marry. But what struck him the most was what she had implied: they would meet again and again, yet she would forget it at some point. It pained him a bit to know, but he couldn’t wait to meet her again.
As Jack made his way back, “Sunny” was nowhere to be seen. In her place, a grinning doctor, holding the now repaired device in his hand. Thoughts of a brighter future flooding his mind.

Bonus :
“(Y/N) I found what we were searching for !” Did Your doctor exclaim, meeting your gaze with a bright and excited smile. The one you always loved to see. “Also found a yellow note with a sun on it, not sure why, don’t remember putting it here.”
Giving you both, you smiled at the small note. A sun circling a small sentence. “ It was quite a sunny day today”. Smirking silently, you finally brought the device to your now empty pockets, and folded the small note to put in your phone case.
“Come here bow tie maniac” Reaching for his bow tie, you planted your lips on his forehead before kissing him on the lips.
“How come I didn't know you had worn leather jackets before ?” Did you ask him with a teasing tone.
Hello again, It's froggit here, so since i finished the last part of my series of one shots with the tenth doctor, i wanted to continue the time line, but with different doctors. For this one, you would have guessed it, the 11th is gonna make an apearence. I wanted to do something fluffy with him, not much running around with this one. May be in a future chapter. Anyway, as always, Warning : English is not my first language. So please be indulgent.
Froggit-
---------------
It was a new day aboard the TARDIS. As you awoke from your slumber, a tinge of sadness washed over you as you realized the Doctor wasn't beside you. You and the Doctor had been inseparable married since his last regeneration. Back then, your sister was still on the verge of marriage, but an insidious queen alien threatened to unleash her offspring upon humanity. Though the problem was resolved, your sister had to leave the TARDIS for her own safety.
Rising from your bed, you made your way to the TARDIS wardrobe, selecting a (F/c) top paired with washed up wide-legged jeans for today's outfit. Completing your look with your favorite sport shoes, you headed back to the console. Greeting the TARDIS, you found the Doctor tinkering with his sonic screwdriver beneath the main platform, muttering curses under his breath.
"Good morning, sweetheart!" you exclaimed, standing by the console to observe the Time Lord at work.
"Ah, (Y/N)! Finally up--?"
"You could have woken me, you know?"
"Wouldn't dream of depriving you of sleep, now would I?"
"Still haunted by our last sleepover with the Ponds, are you?" you teased, knowing full well he didn't mind those gatherings one bit, but your last escapade involving chasing him with pears during Amy's visit had leaved him on his guards.
"That, and Sexy here needed a bit of tinkering. But we do have to meet up with our in-laws, don't we?"
"Better hurry, or Amy will have both our heads on a silver platter by the time we get there."
"Geronimo, then."
Adjusting a few levers on the console, the Doctor drew closer to you before turning around on his feets, planting an excited kiss on your lips, then pulling the Big lever to send the TARDIS flying off. And landing it did, with a loud sound just down the block.
"You're getting better at parking her! For once, we didn't end up in Amy's kitchen; that's a first." Did you teased him.
"I said I was sorry. Not my fault the oven was wide open."
"I'm not complaining. Now we have a brand new oven to bake with!"
Approaching the door, you barely had time to knock before the ginger woman engulfed you in a bone-crushing hug. Amy had become a close friend since she first entered the TARDIS, her courageous demeanor and contagious sassiness made her impossible not to like. The two of you were quite the pair, sticking together in every circumstance, and today was no exception. As usual on weekends, you had decided to visit and bake with her, initially just a joke, but it had become a regular activity for the girls as time went on, spurred by the Doctor's sweet tooth and craving for sugar.
After exchanging greetings with Rory, Amelia tossed you your cooking apron, adorned with a magnificent "Kiss the Cook" slogan on the front. Catching it gracefully, you tied it securely around your waist as you helped Amelia with hers. Turning to face the grinning Doctor seated on one of the stools, you inquired, "So, pretty boy, what shall we try this time?"
"Have we made 'gâteau au yaourt' yet?"
"What even is that?" Amy chimed in, detaching herself from your grasp.
"Good choice, Doctor. Now, we just need a container to measure everything."
After washing your hands, you felt the Doctor's gaze on your new apron.
"Do you like it?"
"I more than like it. It suits you well."
And there it was, that smile that always made you weak in the knees. Blushing, you turned away, which only seemed to widen the Doctor's grin.
"Oh, shush..."
Without waiting for his response, you began gathering the ingredients needed for the cake. Retrieving your phone from your back pocket, you started an energetic playlist, dancing around the counter while Amy sang along to certain parts.
"So, let me guide you through this, Amy. First, we need some yogurt."
Peeking into the fridge, the ginger-haired girl retrieved a small white container. And so, you began explaining how yogurt cake was an important French bakery item, a practical dessert with no need for precise measurements, perfect for busy meetings.
The recipe was simple enough, so while Amy mixed the batter, you whipped up some cream, trying your best to keep up with the beat of the music. Once finished, you stored the cream in the fridge before joining Amy for the final step: pouring the batter into a circular pan and placing it in the oven.
With the cake now baking, you suggested to Amy that she and Rory take a break while you tackled the dishes. Eyeing you suspiciously, she warned you not to make a mess in her absence. Whether she was referring to you or the Doctor, who was still seated at the counter, you couldn't be sure. Shaking your head, you ushered her out before taking your place at the sink, whisk in hand.
As you washed the utensils, you felt someone's hands wrap around your waist, and a head drop onto your shoulder.
"Bored already, darling?"
"Not really…"
"Then what's on your mind?"
You had just shaken your hands to remove excess water when you turned around to find the Doctor's face mere inches from yours, his nose adorned with a smudge of batter. Did he really just lick the bowl? Deciding you didn’t even want to question it, you just stared at it for a while before speaking up.
“You have a little something on your face.. Here let me help you.” Taking the end of your apron, you brought it up to his face before weeping the small spot at the tip of his nose. His smile shined once more as you sneakily swapped your places, making him now trapped between you and the counter.
"So, tell me, what's going on in that beautiful head of yours? You've been unusually quiet…"
"Can't I just listen to you talk?"
"Shouldn't it be the other way around?"
"I mean, you've lived in France for a couple of lives, so you might know more than me on this point."
"Says the man with a universe's worth of knowledge in his library. You're not fooling me on this one, spaceman."
Your faces were now tantalizingly close, as you tried to coax him into saying something. With you this close, all he wanted was to tell you everything but it would ruin the surprise. He had wanted for it to be special, a small adventure for the both of you, but he was too scared to spill it out of excitement to say something.
"You're impossible, you know that?"
"Apparently not enough. Tell me about it."
With a small laugh, you grabbed him by his bow tie, crashing your lips against his, melting into his touch as you basked in his comfort. Each sweet kiss sent butterflies fluttering in your stomach, just like the first time you met. Your hands grasped at anything you could on him, trying to ground yourself in the moment.
Your embrace seemed too short, as your make-out session was interrupted by the timer on the oven. With your hair disheveled and the Doctor's bow tie undone, you tried to compose yourselves, pulling your hair back and slipping on a heat-resistant glove to retrieve the cake from the oven. Admiring the beautiful golden top, you could practically taste its delicious aroma.
You and the Doctor attempted to look a bit more presentable, but as always Amy bursted into the kitchen, wanting to ensure everything was all right.
"Cake's out of the oven?"
"Yep."
Upon closer inspection, she laughed at the Doctor's disheveled appearance. He was still straightening his bow tie, his collar askew, revealing a few red marks, with his shirt wrinkled and partially untucked, his suspenders struggling to stay attached to his pants.
"You two had fun, I see."
Blushing, you were tempted to toss your glove at Amy, but she dodged it with ease, giggling as she left, seemingly on her way to spread some gossip.
"Shit, I missed..."
Well, it could have been worse. You helped the Doctor readjust his bow tie, before boiling water for tea. Finally, you made the cake presentable and topped it with fresh whipped cream and raspberries.
And as you set everything on the table, the Doctor marveled at his luck. How did he end up with someone who could keep up with him on every adventure? He remembered the look on your face when you first saw his new regeneration. He had told you beforehand, but he still worried that you wouldn't love him the same way with his new face.
How silly was he to think that someone who had changed faces so many times would reject him. To you, he was still the Doctor, the beautiful creature who had shown you the universe, made you feel loved and cared for. Even if he was a bit smaller, with longer hair and a larger chin. In your opinion it made him all the easier to kiss, and you were grateful for it.
----------------
The afternoon ended on a beautiful note, with you, the Doctor, and the Ponds enjoying a delicious homemade cake as soft music played in the background. You discussed future adventures and reminisced about memories made along the way, planning your next baking escapade. It was no surprise when the Doctor suggested trying to make some alien cake next time. In your mind, you had already reached the bottom shelf of the TARDIS library, eyeing the row of books, wondering if the red recipe book with Gallifreyan writings on the cover could help.
You had been working tirelessly for weeks now to perfect a recipe while visiting your sister. Secretly learning Gallifreyan, with some assistance from the TARDIS in selecting the right books for translation. You were grateful for her help in this endeavor. You wanted for it to be perfect after all and create something meaningful for him.
As the sun set, you bid farewell to the Ponds, promising to visit again soon, before returning to the TARDIS. Once in space, the Doctor was finally able to execute his plan, sending you both to one of the most beautiful soirées in the galaxy to dance the night away. For a short while he disappeared into the corridors of the TARDIS, letting you ponder what he was up to this time.
----------------
"Well, milady, we are awaited somewhere rather special. Your finest dress is advised for this glorious night." The Doctor exclaimed with the voice of a television host, returning in a magnificent white vest and black dress pants. A smile graced your lips as you admired him and his unusual attire.
"Just give me a moment, beautiful stranger… I'll be right back." Making your way to the TARDIS wardrobe, you examined the extensive selection of dresses, eventually landing one recommended by River. You had chosen it on one of your last trips together, waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it. As for jewelry, you adorned yourself with a simple golden necklace the Doctor had given you for your first anniversary.
Emerging onto the main platform, you found the Doctor still where you had left him, his feet tapping the ground in a repeating pattern. When he turned around, his breath caught in his throat at the sight of you. The dress you wore was a mid-length gown with a slit, featuring a V-neckline that revealed just the right amount of cleavage. It hugged your figure perfectly, with two distinct parts to the sleeves—one that made the top stand straight and the other cascading over your shoulder. Your makeup was soft, your hair elegantly styled, complementing every curve of your body.
"So… what do you think?"
"Bleamy, (Y/N)...., you look out of this world…"
Still a blushing mess, you interlocked your arm with his as you walked out of the TARDIS, a wide grin spreading across your face when you saw where he had taken you.
—-------------------
Bonus :
"I suppose I made the right choice of dress, didn't I?" Did you laugh practically out of air.
As always, the night ended with both of you escaping the scene, giggling like a mad married couple , with a few soldiers trying to get hold of you. Let's just say you were discovered in one of the corridors making out once again, this time with the Doctor fully adorned in your favorite deep red lipstick.
“Forgot i was banned from the palace-” The doctor finally admitted as the Tardis came into view.
Hello! well, here is the final episode of this series. Hope you’ll enjoy it. Warning as always : english is not my first language, so please be indulgent.

Part 1 , Part 2 , Part 3
-------------------------
It had been serverall months since you first started travelling with the doctor. While tracing a distress signal , the Doctor had arrived on Earth during first "human" era . Stepping out of the TARDIS, you could feel a protective feeling upon the scene before you. It felt eerily familiar, as you remembered every detail of the world around you.
In this instance, the Doctor had to follow a companion who seemed to know far more about the region than he did. Without his trusty sonic screwdriver, he would likely have been lost in the forest within the first ten minutes. For you, navigating the environment felt like second nature, effortlessly climbing trees to gain a better vantage point.
Before long, you stumbled upon a large body of water. While the Doctor attempted to analyze the source of the sonic screwdriver's erratic behavior, you witnessed something unexpected.
Near the water's edge, as white as snow, four-armed creatures could be seen attempting to retrieve something from the water. Despite the unusual sight, you remained unafraid. However, as you tapped the Doctor on the shoulder to draw his attention, it became clear that whatever was disturbing the waters lay before them.
"Doctor? You might want to see this."
"What?"
Surveying the area, the Doctor finally comprehended the reason for their arrival. An alien ship had sent out a distress signal across space, intercepted by the TARDIS. But why was your energy also being traced at the same time?
"Well, for once, finding them was easy, don't you think?"
"Should I be concerned, then?"
"Nahhhhh… They just need a hand repairing their ship."
"That's likely to take a while, isn't it?"
The only response you received was a shrug of uncertainty from the Doctor. At that moment, you realized it would likely be more than just a few days' endeavor.
The story could have concluded there, with you and the Doctor assisting the aliens in departing Earth aboard their newly repaired spaceship, embarking on a journey to find their home while it still existed. Instead, you were deemed untrustworthy and confined to a small hut, your hands bound against the wall in a makeshift set of cuffs. The Doctor stood before you, sheepishly grinning.
"It could have been worse—"
You looked at him, unsure whether to tell him to be quiet or simply brush off his remark. In that moment, you hoped one of your past lives might prove useful. Extracting a pin from your hair, you endeavored to free yourself from the restraints. The Doctor couldn't reach his sonic screwdriver, and neither could you, as you were too far apart for your toes to reach.
Finally liberated from your cuffs, you grinned triumphantly. However, as you turned to proudly face the Doctor, your expression turned to horror upon realizing that the alien chef stood just outside the door, catching you in the act of escape.
You were escorted to a larger hut, evidently for interrogation. This was not what you had anticipated.
Multiple pale-skinned creatures surrounded you, with one of a larger stature standing right before you, its six arms outstretched as if intercepting an energy. Its four eyes widened as a sort of call reached it, a deep rumbling hum echoing from the earth. You felt it traverse your heart, a strange sensation of acknowledgment and exchange washing over you. For a moment, you thought you saw through its eyes, and another cry followed soon after.
-------------------------
Subsequently, you were transported to yet another hut, this time to be adorned in attire unlike anything you had ever worn before. You wondered if you were being prepared for marriage given the abundance of jewelry being placed upon you. To your surprise, the Doctor bursted in, seemingly in search of something. Upon laying eyes on you, he rushed over and enveloped you in his arms, causing the women beside you to step back.
"How did you escape…?"
"The guards released me."
"Why would they?"
"I suppose I'm no longer deemed a threat."
Stepping back, he looked at you to ensure you were uninjured, though he blushed slightly at the sight. You were draped in a seemingly traditional saari, albeit their version of it, with red threads and small golden motifs adorning the fabric. Jokingly, you teased him, making him turn a darker shade of red.
"Hey, eyes up here…"
"Oh… yes, right, um… I might need your help in speaking with their chef, though… so if you could, indulge…"
The Doctor hastily made his exit, clearly embarrassed to linger any longer. A small smile crept onto your lips as the two women in the room exchanged knowing glances before turning to you for answers.
"What?"
"This… man."
"You love him, don’t you?" asked the beautiful creatures beside you, finishing each other's sentences. And in that moment, nothing could have rung truer. The way he looked at you with concern, even after countless reassurances; the slight blush that colored his cheeks upon seeing you in unfamiliar attire; the fleeting gaze he quickly dismissed to avoid being caught; it was telling too much. Your smile grew at the memory, and you couldn't deny it.
"I suppose I do…"
-------------------------
With the clothing finally in place, you joined the Doctor to confer with the chief. Along the way, you learned about the species known across the universe as Saliriens, and how they communicated.
Saliriens were eternal beings capable of transferring their minds into other bodies, similar to you, though they did not require the new body to do so. This allowed them to share memories, feelings, and emotions, creating a collective unity. The "ritual" they performed was meant to ensure compatibility, leaving them puzzled as to how a creature so different could be part of them.
Shortly thereafter, you offered your assistance in repairing their ship, which they gratefully accepted. Even if your utility was limited, you decided to help the Doctor with the console, fastening the process. Without your insistence, the ship might not have departed for another week.
As the sunlight greeted you once more, your back aches from sleeping on the ground beside the machinery. You still wore the Doctor's vest around your shoulders, offering some protection against the now-warmed air.
The small "village" decided on one final celebration before departure, expressing their gratitude for your assistance. While the Doctor conducted one last verification of the console, you remained outside the spaceship, observing Saliriens going about their lives.
Suddenly, something out of the ordinary caught your eye: one of them ventured into the forest, only to return with what appeared to be a young human female. Upon closer inspection, a flash of recognition surged through you.
-------------------------
Your small, trembling hands reached out to touch the unfamiliar sensation of skin beneath your fingers. Finally free from the suffocating confines, you slowly became aware of the changes, the familiar face above you, urging you to cling to her bosom.
It was her, wasn't it?
-------------------------
When you snapped back to reality, the woman was no longer there. In her place stood the Doctor, awaiting your response, having seemingly said something you didn’t hear.
"W-What?"
"I was saying we probably should be going; our friends seem to have started the festivities without us."
Nodding slightly, you rose to your feet, following the Doctor closely, still reeling from what you had just witnessed. As you approached the small village, music filled the air, accompanied by laughter. Within minutes, you were swept into the festivities, dancing with the locals. As the music continued, you joined in the traditional dances you knew, eliciting applause from the crowd. Soon, a man approached, guiding you in the steps of another traditional dance, which you picked up quickly, joining in with a broad smile.
The Doctor seemed to be enjoying himself, a rarity in such situations, but seeing you happy compelled him to join in the merriment. Everything felt perfect until that man decided to take liberties, placing a hand on the small of your back as he attempted to teach you the dance. The Doctor, seeing red, intervened, swiftly leading you away from the man's grasp.
For the rest of the night, you and the Doctor couldn't keep your hands off each other. Though the touches were subtle, they ignited every part of your being. You didn't want the night to end, but as the final song played, you found yourselves inches apart, breathing in each other's air, smiles lighting up your faces. With a mutual understanding, your lips met in a tender yet passionate kiss, cheered on by the surrounding witnesses. No words were necessary; the moment was perfect.
Gazing into each other's eyes, debating whether to continue, you abandoned all restraint, capturing his lips in a fervent kiss once more. you went to capture air once more, letting loose of your feelings for him.
"Doctor… I—"
"I love you too…"
When you came back to the Tardis, this night didn’t end there, making it one of the most memorable in your life, and it was far from over. With the entirety of eternity ahead of you, the adventures were just beginning.
—------------------------------------
Bonus :
"By the way, did you find your answers ?"
"I suppose my mom was like me…"
"How so ?"
"Attracted to aliens."
A small laugh escaped your lips as you kissed him once more, burying your head in the crook of his neck, holding him close.
Hey! Me again, the part 2 is finally out ! There is still one chapter coming up next week. Warning : English is not my first language, so there might be some spelling mistakes. Be indulgent. Hope you enjoy,

Part 1 , Part 2 , Part 3
-------------------------
Fourteen was when you started to remember who you were in your past lives.
It first came in dreams, nightmares, flashes when touching certain things, objects you didn’t even know. At first, it was scary. It also didn’t help, to for once in your many cycles, don’t understand what was happening. At your young age, you had already seen too many psychologists to even think it was normal.
You were prescribed too many drugs for you to even count, but you never wanted to take any of them, as if you knew there was something more to it than fleeting thoughts, making you want to disappear.
Everyone in the family was worried about your mental health, and thought something was wrong. Why wouldn’t they? It was keeping you up day and night. For Donna, on the other hand, it was nothing of the sort. Somehow she was the first one there when a nightmare happened, when something you saw made you unable to breathe. It was like she knew every part of it, but didn’t want to put word on what she thought.
You had told her what went through your head, as stupid as it could have sounded. And all she did was listen to everything and lull you back to sleep without asking anything in return. If it weren’t for her, you probably wouldn’t have been able to start remembering. And be stuck on those damned antidepressants.
It had come to this every night. And by the time you were twenty-five, your memories had reemerged. The only part that wasn’t clear was the way your last death went. You remembered meeting a man, running. But running from what? You didn’t quite know. All you knew was your promise. To see him once more, even in another life. If you weren’t sure how you could keep such a promise, you needed to keep it.
-------------------------
Today was supposed to be a beautiful day for your sister. And yet, here she was, disappearing into thin air in front of everyone's eyes, a yellow glow pouring over her before it disappeared into the ceiling along with her.
All hell broke loose, and everyone was searching for her, including you, as your mom was on the phone trying to see if she hadn’t run away back home.
To be honest, you were happy that Lance didn’t get to marry your sister for an hour more. Something with him didn’t fit right. The way he would look at her, his comments always holding something more hurtful. Just by checking his hand, you knew something was up with him. You did tell Donna about what you thought of him, but she was desperate, and against your advice, she thought marrying him was the better option.
So when you saw him tell your mom he didn’t find her, a smooth smile was plastered on your lips, while you tried to retain all your hatred for the man.
The afternoon was spent waiting for her return. You knew she would be back; it was her who proposed to Lance after all, and she was too excited to marry him to have disappeared on purpose. Unfortunately, each family didn’t want anything to go to waste, and so the reception was held as intended, but without the bride.
You weren’t happy about it. Far from it, to be exact. You were at the back of the room, trying to think of something other than Lance dancing with a blond girl half as gifted as your sister.
-------------------------
The music was blasting, everyone seemed to have a blast, dancing, singing, having fun. When the doors opened, you were relieved to see Donna still in her dress. It had picked up dirt for some reason, but that wasn’t important. She was there, safe and sound.
As you looked behind her, a flash came into existence. Red and loud alarms echoed everywhere. And this man, in his long brown trench coat, whom you had promised to come back to, was running to escape what was to come.
Pulling out of the flash, you heard Donna trying to keep it together as she watched both parties having a wonderful time while she was gone. Passing through the crowd, you took a step up to her, before hugging her like your life depended on it. Relieved she was okay, making everyone stop questioning anything.
“We got you back, that's all that matters okay?” Kissing her forehead was all it took for her to feel safe again.
“Now come on, we have a party to celebrate, don’t we?”
-------------------------
The party couldn’t be more of a disaster. Everything went wrong, and Donna was nowhere to be found once more. She was off somewhere, without saying anything. While you didn't know where she could be, you had to take care of the guests and help bring them out of the building before it could go any further south.
Once home, You had took a seat outside the door, jacket pulled closer to your core, watching the stars align, hoping to see Donna being brought home by the Doctor. Your hands were cold, but it was a small price to pay to make sure she was okay.
Soon, a weird noise could be heard, and a blue police box came into sight, materializing in and out of existence before landing completely. At this point, nothing could be worse than an invasion of robot Santa Clauses trying to get your sister.
As the doors opened up, Donna was the first thing you saw coming out of that damned blue thing. Running as fast as you could, you took her in your arms, twirling her before putting her back on her feet. You took her face in your hands, examined her, making sure there wasn’t a scratch on her skin.
“Thank God… you’re okay…
-I’m okay… I’m fine (Y/N)
-Good god… please don’t run off with strangers again, I was so worried….” Pulling apart, you noticed the absence of the man who was supposed to marry her. “Where’s Lance?”
“He… didn’t make it…
-Oh god… I’m so sorry …
-It’s fine… he didn’t love me anyway…
-I’m not gonna say I told you so, but… Ow”
Donna had slapped you on the side, your exaggerated cry making her laugh a bit.
“There is that smile that I love!” you said while still holding your side. “Oh come on, you will find someone better than him… I know it…” You looked at her with a bright smile.
“So… gonna present me to your doctor friend over there, or is he gonna stand there doing nothing but watch us?”
As Donna turned around, the doctor was patiently waiting outside of his box, trying to look elsewhere, having been caught red-handed in his observations. Taking a few steps toward the man in question, Donna addressed him to you, crossing her arms on her chest.
“Well, I suppose, um… doctor, this is (Y/N).... She’s my sister.
-(Y/N) hm? Quite a fitting name.
-Doctor is not bad either. Better than John Smith, isn’t it?”
The doctor seemed a bit concerned. Many times he had used this alias on Earth, but today wasn’t one. How could you know? No, it couldn’t be. Probably, he was imagining it. John Smith was common, maybe a bit too much. He shouldn’t worry.
“Wait… are you telling me that it was the man running in your dreams the other night?
Donna seemed to finally break through. She was a genius in her own way; even Lance couldn’t bring it out of her.
“So it means…
-Yep…
-I’m so sorry… And to think mom sent you to all those damned therapists…”
Donna started to cry again. And the doctor still didn’t understand what was unfolding before his eyes.
“Um… excuse me, but, what is going on?
-And I thought Donna could be a thick one… You don’t remember, do you?
-Remember what?
-Paris, 1970, mid-summer, Sontaran soldiers trying to make a whole city explode.”
As you finished your sentence, the doctor’s confused face transformed into one of astonishment when it hit him.
“I promise you, I'll always come back. No matter what. Might take a few human years, but I'll always be back. No matter the life.”
That woman… Was here, alive, but with a different face. How?!
“How?!
-I told you I’ll always come back, didn’t I? No matter what, life.
-But how..?
-I was hoping someone could enlighten me on this point.”
The doctor looked excited. Mysteries were something he loved to resolve, and this one seemed to be quite big. He knew he shouldn't; Rose had just got away, but just thinking of being alone once more made him want to ask. Thinking of it, he needed someone else to go on adventures with.
“...I mean, I could lend you a hand on that.” Did the doctor finally let out.
Beside you, Donna was getting more nervous. She knew you’ve always wanted answers on what was happening to you, but she wasn’t sure she wanted you to go with the doctor. At least not after what she went through today. As your sister, she wanted you to be happy, to finally break through this mystery, maybe put an end to it so you wouldn’t have to go through it once more. She was worried to never be able to see you again.
“(Y/N), after what happened today, I’m not sure I want you to go with him… But you’ve been waiting for this your entire life. I don't want to take that away from you.
-Oh Donna… my beautiful and wonderful sister… I’ll always be there… You know it.” Caressing her cheek, you looked at her tenderly before kissing her forehead. ” I probably won’t be your sister if I disappear once again, but I won't forget, and will always find my way back to you, you can trust me.”
“I trust you, maybe not the block behind you though," she commented. It made you snort, trying to not lose the hold you had on your tears.
“One last thing before I get my answers… Donna, I know you don’t like Christmas, but I couldn't help myself from buying you a few presents. It’s not much, but I do hope they will brighten up the spirit a bit. They’re underneath my bed, in the big pink box.”
Retaining tears, Donna hugged you a final time, before letting you free.
“Tell mom that I'm off finding the truth about myself… And most importantly that I’m safe. Okay?
-Okay…
-Goodbye, Donna…”
-------------------------
And so it was decided. As you entered the Blue box, your eyes glowed bright, enlightened by the colors of the console. A yellow glow bursting to life, as you stepped closer to the large column in its middle.
Machinery sounds could be heard, as the madman before you pushed a few buttons and pulled some of the levers.
“So what’s your ship called?
-She’s called the TARDIS.
-TARDIS?
-Time And Relative Dimension In Space.
-I like it. Does this mean you can go anywhere in time and space?
-Pretty much yes..
-So that leaves me a single question, what are you? 'Cause you aren’t human, that's for sure.
-I’m from the planet Gallifrey… I’m a Time Lord…
-any more particularities I should know about you?
-I’m the last of them…
-Ah…- Sorry to hear that…
-it’s nothing…”
Pouching one final lever, he he looked at you with a small smile before let it the rule of the Tardis. Always hold on to something on take off.
Taking his request into consideration, you got up to the railing, practically missing it with the violent movement of the TARDIS. Minutes later, you were back on your feet, the ship having stopped its course.
“Now tell me, how come you ended up with a new face?
-I don’t really know why, but I think I know how.
-Go ahead then… I’m curious.
-I think that, when I die, my conscience is not lost, not entirely at least. It is saved elsewhere, in another brain, a new brain and a new body. For me to be transferred, the brain needs to be brand new.
-So you need to be uploaded into something that is not really functional yet.”
The only way for it to even be possible would be for you to be reborn in a new organism at the first stage of its life. In that case, a human fetus.
“I come back as something that needs to grow once again. The only problem is that I don't immediately regain my memories. As I grow older, I access it more and more. Normally, by 20, I remember everything that has happened before.”
For her to take this much time to remember, the memories must have been flowing for a while. This made him wonder how much you got through?
“If you don’t mind me asking… for how long have you been going through this cycle?
-I won’t be able to remember the exact number. Been alive way too long.
-Can I guess the period at least?
-I mean, why not. Be my guest..”
And while guessing, the doctor had opened the doors of the TARDIS, inviting his newfound companion to sit beside him to observe a brand new nebula.
-------------------------
“How about the Roman Empire?
-Nope, not even close.” Did you answer with a large smile, laughing at the eleventh failed attempt of the doctor.
“Edwardian times ?
-You already gave me that one.
-Argh… you know what, I quit, I don’t know.
-That’s surprising coming from you.
-Well, I gave everything I could.
-Sure, you can just tell me you’re tired of guessing, you know?
-Nah.. Never…” Did he say, making you laugh a bit.
He was beautiful under the starlights, looking far in the distance with that smile that made you want to trust him the first time he offered it to you. There was no denying it.
“The first life I remember ever living was in the Lower Paleolithic. So approximately 3 million years ago.
-H- what? You're older than me-
-Why so surprised? How old are you, spaceman?
-I’m Nine hundred years old… more or less.
-Only? I would have guessed a bit more…”
The doctor looked at you like you had grown a second head. You would think it would have been normal for him, but apparently, not that much.
“What? I have something on my face?” You asked while looking at the beautiful view that was gifted to you.
“Do I seem that old to you?” He seemed too offended to not laugh at the face he made. His brows crossed, mouth slightly opened, trying to understand what was just said.
“I mean…
-Now that's just wonderful- How could you call me that!” You tried to not fall as he pushed you with his elbow.
And suddenly, as you looked at each other, you started to laugh at the impossibility of the situation. For once in a long while, you had finally felt freed from the burden you carried. Finally telling someone about it without having the sensation of being crazy. Knowing you wouldn’t be judged for it.
The moment felt magical. You almost never wanted to let it go, fearing something might happen to take you away once more.
“So.. do you think you can help ?
-I might be able to run some test. Identify the energy. But if it is that old, i’m not sure to find it.
Hey guys! hum warning, this is my first fanfiction on Doctor Who. I wrote this one with the tenth doctor in mind. English is not my primary language, so please be indulgent. This fic will be in two or three parts depending on what the general reaction will be :0 So hum yeah. Also in the first chapter, you're given a certain name, but it will not be definitive.
Your destiny wasn’t what you could call “normal”. For a human at least.
Playing, studying, going to college, finding a job, having a family, and growing old, could be called a winning ticket. You, on the other hand, had to deal with something else for as long as you could remember.
Remembering. Here was something you were good at, something you had done for dozens of years without even understanding why it was happening. All those faces, all those lives you had to leave behind you. A single heart that had to grow again and again, without knowing where it would end up next, what language it would speak, what future it would be.
A miracle some would call it. To you, it was purely a curse. The process of dying, being conceived again, growing up, and remembering your past lives, was getting tiring as the years came by. But here you were once again. And this time, your death had been quite special. Never would you have imagined dying to free a city.
------------------------
Paris was beautiful, it was true. But too many people lived there for it to be breathable. Summer was a pain in the ass, having no air circulating between buildings, and the cramped space of the streets, making the temperature grow higher each passing day. It wasn’t bearable. Breathing wasn’t easy, and there was as much that water could solve.
Today was one of those days. Waking up to windows covered in craft paper to reduce the heat coming in the house, the rod from your old shutters, still in a corner of your room waiting to be saved. A kitchen, a little too small for even one person, and a pan to heat the water. A simple life in a busy city.
The bus had taken its sweet time to arrive, making you late for work. As soon as you entered the small café, you were in for quite a lot.
“Oh! Louise te voilà enfin! t’as presque une demie heure de retard, Naeva te cherche partout. J’ai mis ton uniforme dans l’arrière boutique
oh! Louise! here you are, you’re practically Half an hour late, Naeva was searching for you. I put your uniform in the back
-Ah! Merci beaucoup Fély! je ne sais pas ce que je ferais sans toi. Désolée pour le retard, mon bus a encore été dévié.
Ah! Thanks a lot, Fély! I don’t know what I would do without you! Sorry for being late, my bus took another route again.
-C’est pas à moi qui faut dire ça, allez dépêches toi, on ouvre dans 5 minutes.”
I’m not the one you should tell this, and hurry up, we open in 5 min.
With a big smile, you walked by the kitchen to finally get dressed in your work attire.
---------------------------
Working wasn’t a passion. Making drinks had become mechanical long before even entering this café. Made it more of a chore to keep a place to live.
Even with the knowledge of a thousand years, you had stayed here, certain that something special would happen in this life. This “something special” came with the name of John Smith. A beautiful man in a striped suit, bearing a gorgeous smile. Never would you have guessed that this man could bring so much trouble with him.
You were happy to have learned how to regain your memory faster. And practicing sports did wonders. But Running from potato-headed soldiers wasn’t how you imagined your Monday to go. Their guns secured in hand while they tried to shoot you and the man beside you.
Somehow, you managed to get shot in the side. Sure it hurt like a bitch, but it wasn’t your first rodeo with this kind of injury.
Making a new turn, the two of you had entered a small building. As soon as the door was closed, you heard a weird vibrating sound and saw “John” hunched over the door lock.
“It should last us a bit before they can get us.
-Who the heck are you ?! You seem to know an awful lot about what those are.
-I’m the Doctor.
-The Doctor? What kind of doctor runs from bald potato soldiers?
-I could ask you the same. And you were also shot. Do you think you can still help?
- I might die either way. Let me be useful….”
“ So… what is the plan? “

The Sontarans had tried to sneak a bomb on Earth. Similarly to a mine, someone had to walk on it for it to detonate. In this case, only a human could make it explode. The bomb was still on their ship, and the Doctor had found their teleporter.
The safe was easy to find, but to take down the fleet, the bomb had to be activated.
“Doctor, I know it’s not the best option, but I'm the only one here able to make the ship go down. I’m already injured so it wouldn't be a big loss. You'll probably find me again in another life anyway. You, on the other hand, I’m not entirely sure.
-What do you mean another life ?! You're not dying, not on my watch…!”
The brunette seemed stressed. You knew he was trying to hide it, but you had too much time in your life to know what was going on in his head.
“You know what? Can I promise you something?
-I don’t think I quite follow but go ahead.
-I promise you, I'll always come back. No matter what. Might take a few human years but I'll always be back. No matter the life. “
The doctor seemed surprised. Humans surely made shallow promises in the hope of making things better, and to make others less guilty. But the sincerity of your voice made him believe it, and it scared him.
“Who are you, Louise....?”
All you gave him was a small smile before picking yourself up, blood still spreading on your shirt despite having transformed your apron into a temporary bandage. Only three digits were necessary to open the door. Your hand on the lock, the door slides open, and the monstrosity you had before your eyes made you want to throw up. You knew of the pain that was going to go through you. It wasn’t your first death by a bomb, but the last blasted your brain in tranches below the surface.
The bomb looked like a normal sewer lid, it would have been easy for a citizen to mistake it for a normal one. Checking Behind you, you had hoped to see the face of the doctor one last time before taking a step.
His eyes held sorrow, convinced that he had to make something else work. In comparison yours held hope, knowing that it wouldn’t be your end. But as red lights came into existence, he had to run. His eyes turned as he ran away to get to safety.
Once you knew he was far enough, as your foot barely touched the bomb, you felt your skin burn like a thousand suns. It was almost welcoming.
Darkness took over, letting you sink into the unknown.

Has you opened your eyes again, all you could see was the face of a beautiful woman. A halo was drawn on top of her head, as she whispered a sweet lullaby.
making gurgling noises, you finally reached for her nose, desperate to touch something again. And all you saw was her smile as she put her head against yours. Your name fell beautifully from her lips.
